@@thewriter2549 exactly. To find a mach 1 in unrestored condition like that? 40 year's parked in the same spot. I'm a Mustang junkie so to speak. I own an 82 GT that my parent's bought brand new, in July of 82 it was one of the last of the 82s so technically it's an 82 and 1\2. Cause certain parts on it are different from early 82s. But unfortunately it's not a stock one. LONG story on that car. But it was the 1st car my dad taught me how to drive. I was 7 when they got it, and the year after that he would take me to parking lots to learn how to drive. So at 8 year's old in 83 I was driving a 4spd Manuel with him in the passenger seat. But I can't wait to see this car's journey to being new again. Really hope it stays true to stock.
I about fell out of my chair when you said Ithaca MI. I have lived here or in the immediate area all my life. Its the definition of small town USA. It has already been rotted away and run into the ground, to restore that car back like new, would exceed the value of one that has already been restored. Why don’t you people ever get it?
Wow... that's the first "barn find" mustang I've seen where the rear spoiler is in an actual position where it will work as a spoiler. Nice car .. wow.!!
That car cleaned up SO WELL. Wow. Polish it up, clean it up, and drive it! It's beautiful enough to be a nice car, but not perfect enough to where you're afraid to drive it all the time.
Great story and great people so happy the new owner is including Pam on the next stage of the cars life! Amazing how well the car cleaned up after all these years!
Yeah, much better to take your time , rubbing all the abrasive dirt around on the paint with a rag. Ever think there is a reason a pressure washer ( touchless) is used so often and why there are touchless car washes that use high pressure water. It doesn't hurt anything but does a much better deep cleaning.
Ford and Farmall! I would have gotten along very well with this man. And his wife what a sweet lady! Man I love seeing these type of stories and finds. Nice people for sure.
Always had an appreciation for old cars, especially Ford's, they're my favorite and consider myself a Ford enthusiast. I don't make enough to aquire anything like this in decent shape, I have owned a few rarities which I loved and restored as best I could slowly, piece by piece, some were pretty far gone. None were my top favorites, but I loved them all because of their uniqueness. Some were cool in ways people didn't even realize. Turning heads with my SHO Taurus's motor sound or cruising in my Thunderbird super coupe, or my 85 Nissan Z31 always put a grin on my face. Was an absolute blast. Really hope he understands what he's been blessed with, wish we could all be so lucky.
Man! The excitement of taking the side of the barn off and the car seeing sunlight for the first time in all those years!!!! Wish I could of been there!
You could see how much she loves that car reminds her of her husband and the time they spent together in their life that’s what I mean by the barn holds nothing but family memories

You chose the right folks to sell this beauty to. You all are blessed...
Wow. I enjoyed this video. A great find. I was an engineer for Pontiac from '70 to '80. Loved Firebirds and GTOs. But always had a place in my heart for Ford and I love the Mustang.
That was just magical, Jerry. I was awestruck the entire time. I love the way you put these videos together. I felt like I got to be a part of something really special. Thank you!
What a beautiful car and I love your videos. My only complaint is, I wish you had more videos. Always great back stories. Would love to see someone help Pam get her car out of that barn and help her get it running and driving, so that she can enjoy it again
That Ford Ltd in back of the Mustang brought memories back to me. My father bought a car just like that from a older couple that was in mint condition when I was a teenager. My father loved 😍 that car; we all did. Ford LTD classic, that car probably has been in that barn just as long as the Mustang and probably is also in mint condition. Whoever buys that car is going to love it.
Great story and a beautiful car. I just hated not seeing it taken to a professional detailer. Someone who has the right knowledge and product to use could really do wonders.
That looks really good! My 1st car was a 1964.5 Mustang. My Grandma bought it new when she lived in Belair California, she moved in with us in 1968. We lived in the burbs of Chicago. I took over the Mustang in 1976. It was my 1st car, boy how I loved that car!❤️
It’s in a lot better place now than sitting in that barn, at least it can be cared for & taken care of now. It’s never good to let a vehicle sit, but thank goodness it was kept inside. Or otherwise it would’ve been rotted away by now. Good Barn find 👍and looks like it’s going to a awesome new owner who will give it the TLC it needs.
As long as you can keep the moisture off it and the mice out of it, a car may last many years. Of course all the rubber may have to be replaced, hoses, belts and suspension and steering bushings.
This car is a time capsule find of a life time. Absolutely incredible. It’s every persons dream to find a car of their dreams. Cars are more than just vehicles we car enthusiasts have they are part of us in every way. It’s who we are. Can’t wait to see part 2 or 3. Great video
Pam is wonderful. What she is doing with the car is what is most respectful to the history of her husband and the car. How many times have we all seen cars that the owners are letting sit because they supposedly have some sort of sentimental connection to it? And they won’t sell them and they won’t fix them and it always makes me think that there’s nothing less sentimental and respectful to the memories connected to the car than to let it sink into the ground and rot.
God bless America, Ford, and your extraordinary MACH 1. I can’t wait for your next video so I can hear that gorgeous vehicle running again. This make me so happy for you, this car is in the right persons hands. I’m sure your going to do a promo restoration on that old model but young in run time Mustang. Luv Luv love it.
I love these videos. Just good people and a killer car. All Pam has to do is wait until the Mach 1 is cleaned up and restored a little bit and then the waterworks will start flowing when the memories come back. Very nice lady!
That was incredible to watch step by step telling its story ! I am now in my late 50s a guy had a bright yellow Boss Mustang Mach 1 ( Phill Oosley) apologise if I got spelling wrong , I would here it come past our school with that V8 burble . We would cheer him on and he would floor it for us lol . I live in the UK 🇬🇧I’ve been into cars all my life ever since I was a toddler my dad and brother too . Your a lucky man Phill 👍🏻✌️👏👏👏👏
Glad Jerry was there to video document this fascinating story, which itself is now part of this Mach I's history. It cleaned up beautifully. Great automotive design is timeless as this car proves.
Great car, great story, congratulations. Goes to show they're still out there. Too bad Larry from AMMO NYC couldn't have done his magic on it. He's the best and has brought back far worse to their highest original potential.
It's amazing to see there's still these barn finds year after year. I never understood why owners let vehicles sit for 40 years, but my Dad did the same thing on a 66 Chrysler 300 when I was young. Sat for my entire childhood and rusted into the ground. Life and its problems get in the way of your dreams sometimes. At least this Mustang was stored inside, although I'm sure the pack rats have destroyed all the wiring. Will be cool to see an update video if this one is restored
We found no traces of mice or other animals or insects. Several viewers commented the "dryer sheets" lying on the carpet and seats kept mice away. I was not aware of this and should have asked what those sheets were in the car.
You just got yourself a beautiful mustang Mach 1 . My very first forward with a 60 F100 with 390 a C6 transmission and it had giddy up. Old cars are appreciated and you're going to appreciate that you got a beautiful car.
As the owner of a 68 Mustang coupe for 45 years, I can tell you there's nothing like it. My car is a lifelong Southern California car, 289, automatic with factory AC. Undercarriage is basically pristine. Once you fall in love with it, you'll never sell, I've turned down offers of 20.000 for mine, yes, its that nice. You have something very special there, I would definitely take it to have the Undercarriage fully cleaned, inspected, and treated for rust, and anything that needs replacing done. Definitely paint the lower valance. Other than that, she is a beautiful car. And for God's sake. Don't use STEEL WOOL on the chrome!! It will scratch the hell out of it. Turtle wax CHROME cleaner, and a soft cloth, and elbow grease will remove the rust very well. Thats what I have used for decades on my Mustang, and all the chrome on my 58 cadillac, and it keeps the chrome gleaming. Good luck and congratulations on acquiring such a special Mustang!!
Bonjour, Quand je vois les prix d’une voiture comme ça en France ! Chez nous cette voiture pour les passionnés et connaisseurs c’est le saint graal ! Ici en super état une voiture comme ça atteint les 100.000€
Beautiful optioned FE block Mach 1...love the colors red on red! Please take care of her! And thanks to Pam for letting it go to a good home! I have known of a coral blue 1970 Boss 302 been sitting in an old milk Barn since the 70s I don't think it's there anymore but I should have just been more persistent on the issue if it's in that Barn still I'll have to check this summer! But it'll be huge money being none restored!😉
What a trip down memory lane!! Mine could have been the twin brother of your's, except for the engine (mine was a 351C) and the color of the upholstery (mine was the usual black), right down to the calypso red color, the 4-speed manual transmission an it's Hurst T-handle. Thanks for the movie - can't wait for a follow up, especially when you are going to restore that 428 thunder bucket to life!
Your a very very lucky man , i hope you respect the car by keeping it original and only treat and spot repair the rust and paint , i hope you invite Pam to you to all car shows you take it too as gratitude and thx
This color combo and this car is my dream car, I am so happy this guy got it and gets to enjoy it, don't even know the guy and I am super happy for this man, congratulations brother
Back in 1982 I remember a friend of mine named Josh he purchased one of these cars for $300 it was wrecked on the passenger right corner but nothing that could not be fixed, but then he let the stupid friend of ours drive it his name is Mark and he totaled the car and I can’t believe that he let the junkyard take it for $100 back then that car is worth a fortune now I wish I had it. God bless you and your family and friends and congratulations on your fine of a fine automobile American muscle they don’t make them like that anymore. ✝️✝️✝️
I remember looking at the brochures of this exact car when it came out. Our neighbor had a 69 428 but it was just a standard Mach1. Did not have the rear wing or the rear window slats 69 and 70 are my two favorites beside the 67 Fastback Mustang I owned 2-70 Mustangs and a 65 289 hypo was my first car once you own a Mustang it's in your blood forever I don't care what car fan you are GM Chrysler AMC. Once you drive a Mustang you're hooked. I am completely amazed the great condition of this sitting in a barn for 40 years in Michigan yet unbelievable.
Isn't it beautiful to find the car your dreams and give it a bath after all those years... I was always my most favorite thing finding a car and cleaning it and washing it,,, Bringing it back to life again,,, What an absolute gorgeous and phenomenal Mustang a 4 speed..
I love it. I had a teacher in high school who had the first Mustang sold by our local dealer. He later bought a new '66 GT hi-po fastback, a '69 Mach 1 351 4V, and a '70 Boss 302. Then he married and traded the Boss on a '73 Ford pickup.

And they won’t sell them and they won’t fix them and it always makes me think that there’s nothing less sentimental and respectful to the memories connected to the car than to let it sink into the ground and rot.
That will be a awesome restoration. Beautiful car. 428 Cobra Jet Thanks for sharing.
What a beautyfull Mustang. Hope too see how it fires up...
Absolute legend!! The memories she has with that car!!
What I wouldn't give to have that car or get lucky and find one in a barn like that! Amazing! Man it cleaned up beautifully!
You need to take that kind lady for a nice ride after you get this beautiful car running again. What a find!!!!!
That is a wonderful moment in life, lucky for you guys, blessings to all of you.
Skinner Hound, I was just thinking the same thing ....
Best car show on RUclips or anywhere! I love that you focus especially on rare musclecars!
Agreed! I’ve owned mine for 45 years as well. Wasn’t supposed to be the forever car, it just happened.
Bonjour,
Quand je vois les prix d’une voiture comme ça en France ! Chez nous cette voiture pour les passionnés et connaisseurs c’est le saint graal !
Ici en super état une voiture comme ça atteint les 100.000€
I’ve had my 66 mustang for 42 1/2 years. Never sell it. That’s a sweet car.
@@jerrypuckett6733 bought mine in 77, it’s been 45 1/2 for me. Never intended it to be the forever car, it just happened.
Its so nice to see these old cars get rescued
Great story. Great to see car is going to the right person.
Time Capsule filled with memories! Congrats for this finding and enjoy!
Thanks for saving a family.
If that was my car, I wouldn't even restore it. I would make sure its in running and driving condition. You simply cannot replicate a survivor.
Only original...once.
A 428 4 spd car ? Holy crap !!!
So exciting! I have one just like it in blue that's been in a barn of sorts for 30 years. Gives me motivation to get it out
Hey, why don't you let us come out and video your car for history? Send me an email - jerryheasley@gmail.com or 806-236-3681
Not gonna lie, this one brought tears to my eyes. Great story, and the fact that car is in my top 5 dream cars. Thanks for this.
Aww Pam you’re a gem!
Beautiful wheels ❤
I love it. I had a teacher in high school who had the first Mustang sold by our local dealer. He later bought a new '66 GT hi-po fastback, a '69 Mach 1 351 4V, and a '70 Boss 302. Then he married and traded the Boss on a '73 Ford pickup.
Thanks for the video. That Mustang cleaned up remarkably well.
Nice car , best barn find I’ve seen .. happy days ahead 😎,🇬🇧
What an amazing experience to have been shared with other vintage mustang enthusiasts like myself.... nothing like 4 speed fun!
