From someone who does long drive themselves you guys should try overtraining. Basically it means swing as hard as possible (not caring where the ball goes) for 5-10 swings, then make some normal gamer swing and see what the speed is at. It’ll help making the normal swings feel in control but still will naturally be faster then what you are used to. Helped me a lot personally. Cruising in the 185s this year
Hey my friends. Great video and awesome speed improvement. I say you guys keep showing the progression and what is come in the next levels of the training. I know you guys made me buy one and start it. With your code of course!!! Keep up the grind gents. Proud of you both. Jay M.
Man what a sick video fellas! Not making us wait for updates over an entire month. Just posting it all in one video. Love it! I've gotta say whoever did Frank's driver fitting did a spectacular job. He's getting everything he can distance-wise with that swing speed. If we could get Mike's contact more consistent, he's getting three bills every drive.
Thanks! I’ve been focusing a lot in my practice with trying to make efficient contact (center face, low spin, launch angle, etc) which really helps maximize distance for my swing speed. Now just hoping a little extra speed training will take it to the next level! - Frank
Thank you! This was one of the most compelling and well formatted evaluation videos that I’ve seen. You’ve totally sold me. It was also a lot of fun excitement.
Your 5% gain in the first month is consistent with any swing speed training. The emphasis should be on training regularly, no matter which swing speed system you use.
my main warmup club while competeing on WLD back in the day was a 50" steel shaft (chest putter I believe) with a 460cc head filled with cement that my LD coach made for me. It did exactly what you want it to do but it was brutal. If this is similar to that in a smaller package, I may be interested tbh.
Awesome ! I have the speed sticks which I bought about 5 years ago but this system looks better. Great video. it’s clear to see the gains and definitely something I will look into next year. Looking forward to a discount code if you get one.
I’d like to ask if we are at 15,000 feet of elevation because I am not aware of any world that a 94mph swing speed can make a ball fly through the air for 258 yards
So I on a golf driving range can hit a ball about 240 to 280 yards carry. My problem is the my height of the ball can sometimes be abnormally high. Point being that dude number one has a shitty technique but muscles through it relative to the other guy.
I’d say it’s possible, but also probably due to a few factors. First thing I noticed is he has a natural draw bias which tends to go further. Also possible he’s got his spin rate at the right speed along with attack angle and ball striking dialed in. I’m well below an average golfer for consistency and on my first Trackman session my highest (and best strike) was 234.4yds at 97mph and 3394spin as a fade. I’m sure if I could draw it, hit it pure and lower my spin I’d be up in the 250s? Elevation here is 750’ 🤷
Gosh I hadn’t swang a club in 20 years and went to top golf 1st time and highest ball speed was 146. I hit about 5000 range balls in one month and I’m now averaging 168 ball speed with range balls on the top tracer ranges. Crazy how much faster and the bombs I can hit now. Now I just need to test with premium golf balls I’m guessing 175-185 balls speeds! That’s nuts and I’m 5’7 185
Thanks Guys this was awesome. I have been on the fence about spending the money to try and see if it worked, however you guys are proof that it does, so thank you. Since Xmas is only around the corner i guess i found what i ambbuying for a personal gift to myself. Keep up the work guys! Cherrs✌️
As a Golf Professional I can tell you that your reference: 110 mph swing speed with a 243y carry - is a result of bad hits with your driver. I guess that you get too much backspin on the ball. Normally you should be able to hit 270y carry. So its not a good basic to compare length
I purchased the Rip Sticks a year ago hoping to increase my swing speeds. After a year, I can attest that the product has not increased my swing speeds at all. My driver swing still clocks out at 78mph max, 180 yards max.
great video gents... as always... sorry that the algo took you guys out of my watch list... my driver coach got me into this and it works miracles tbh... stay safe...
Reality is you are training. The product is a motivational app, and youtube clicks are you true motivation. Train at anything for consistent time, especially 30+ days, you will get better. Def worth it if people will use it, otherwise can use a club and add their weight, or I used an old fiberglass stick with lead tape.
No difference in terms of weight and length (45") - however the oil can comes with three additional (spare) weights and a premium headcover, compared to our standard headcover!
Another great video guys . I wonder what your actual speed playing would be.i know when I get in front of a screen I wanna smash it . But I get hesitant in real life .
I took an old driver out of the closet and added leadn tape to the head so it would weight 10% more than my driver, Swing it 10 times as hard as I can For 4 sets, and then swing my driver hard as possible and still keep good form for 2 sets. Save your money !!!
“As a rough approximation, every mile per hour extra of ball speed equates to two extra yards of carry.” So, Mike’s 5 extra MPH should only translate to 10-12 yards more distance (physics), which means his gains are more attributable to other variables like smash factor and spin rate, etc.
omg! thats a lot! and theres obviously more to come with mobility etc.! very motivating, im lifting weight a lot so i guess my basic powerlevel is ok, mut my driving is not!! i just gotta try something like this, or this exactly!!! very MOTIVATING!
For these tests we didn’t have the Rapsodo club head speed metric selected because we were using the other radar system. We only used Rapsodo for ball data.
If you are swinging your club head at 114 mph and averaging about 260 yards it's a sign that your smash factor is not that good. With a solid hit and a proper launch of the ball you should be hitting about 290-300 with that speed. You would do better working on club face contact rather than trying to gain speed.
Mike swings over the top and down on the ball. Franks swing is better, but slower. The elephant in the room is the hitch mike has where he takes the club back down with a flip move on a higher plane, most likely a shoulder mobility issue. He could stand to lose 25 lbs. Frank is in better shape
From a data perspective, the baseline should have included the same regiment but simply using a normal club such as a 7 iron. The delta would then reflect a more accurate picture of that particular speed training tool. I would argue that a good deal of the progress was due to the consistency of the training not simply the tool. 🤔
Why would 7i be any different? If Driver swing speed increased then so would 7i - not the same # but appropriate ratio. In the end it proves that focusing on pushing swing speed will result in gains. We have 60+ years of research in under and over load training (I believe Sasha noted in the 1940s but I could be wrong) Could argue having the guys do 2 weeks of just fast swings with driver at end of a session to see progress then start program, but results wouldn’t be as impressive in just 30 days.
Club speed is definitely important but other factors like launch angle, center face contact, spin optimization, etc all contribute to carry distance as well. Our goal is to optimize all of those factors while also increasing club head speed.
Mike pre training spin rate is way too high (+7000rpm), that's why he has that short distance for that speed. With 110 MPH should get 260+ carry. After the training, the first try, the spin rate is much better at 3200 rpm and more speed.
I'd also work on getting your smash factor on center of the ball I'm not trying down you or anything but 109 and 230-250 Carry is pretty bad 109 mph at a good smash factor should be around 270 carry
Not to knock the video, but make was 3500-7k spin to start and finishedhitting 1200-2500, that's why frank was out driving him. Frank stayed from 1300 to 2500 spin
110 mph is very quick already but he does not get good distance because of the way he strikes or his attack angle. Should be getting to 275 yards when his driver technique improves
I decided to get the Rypstick because of this video and this being a Mn product, that made it easy.....I went from 96 mph original baseline to 106 mph at the end just in the 1st day.....can't wait to see how high I can go.
I figure this is a good place to update...I'm one week into the 2nd training mod. I averaged all of my baselines for the first mod. (minus the 1st one, which was 96MPH) My average baseline tests for the entire 1st training mod was 104.8 MPH. Top swing speed of 113. The one thing I did notice that really surprised me is my floor has also been raised quite a bit.... It's been a couple weeks since I swung it slower than 103 MPH on the baseline tests. My last 4 baselines were 2 at 106 and 2 at 107. Just for reference, @ 96mph I was living in the 220s-230s yd drives most of the time. AT 105 mph, I should be living in the 250s if not better pretty consistantly. So far that looks like 30 yds at minimum....I'll update after the end of 2nd mod if that's ok with you guys
Thanks for the update Eric, really interested in seeing how your progress continues through the entire training program so will check in regularly for your updates so please keep them coming. Bring on the 120mph controlled swing lol. Hard task but it's a target i'm aiming and training for to see if i can achieve lol.
Update...i just finished the 2nd level. I have definitely hit a plateau. I haven't set any new PB, but I consistantly swinging between 103 and 110 during my baseline tests. All 11 of my level 2 baseline test were between 106mph and 108 mph. My average swing speed for level 2 was 106.5 MPH. So through the first 2 levels my original 96 mph has increased to 105.6 mph. I recently went to an indoor simulator that gives all the numbers you could want, just to see if the RYSTICK radar was acurate. I didn't record anything, but my swing speed was fairly consistant at around 103 MPH swinging my driver and hitting a real ball as opposed to strictly swinging the RYPSTICK. A lot of my drives were 250 yds and up. I also really noticed my ball speed increased. From the 130s on a good hit originally to now high 140s and 150s all the time. I'll update again when I finish level 3.
@@ericbarwald2795Great to see the training paying off for you Eric. I myself have plateau'd as well after the extra 10mph gain, the extra 1mph increments are definitely getting much harder to achieve. I'm not going through any specific training plan just weight training and swinging a speed stick like a mad man daily. Averaging about 111mph on the course which is a nice feeling after a month and a half of training.
Would be interesting to see a high speed swinger if they see the same kind of benefit - having already a fast swing do they benefit in terms of distance gains.
I started SuperSpeed in the low 120s with the intent of getting into Long Drive. Coupled with weight training I reached a peak club head speed (nowhere near usable) of 137.xMPH in months. Best ball speed went from 180 to 197. Could get balls into the 190s with a decent regularity but lived in the 180s on the golf course. I believe weight training is important if you’re seriously looking to get fast. Not just because it WILL make you faster, but you need to prepare your body for the stresses. I don’t believe you can prevent injury, but you can reduce your risk and getting your body ready to deal with those forces is crucial. The quick gains can be had speed training only. And they will be impressive on their own! But just remember if you don’t use it, you lose it. Which is where I am today. Basically back where I started just with a better golf swing 😅. Road to 205mph has already begun though. Back in the gym and back swinging.
The ryp radar unit you used was positioned at the side of your tee which allowed you to hit balls. The ryp radar currently on the website needs to be positioned about 5ft in front of the tee which does not allow you to hit balls. I would prefer the radar that you were using so will probably purchase a different brand. The rypstick and app looks terrific.
Its not the club, trust us. We're gaming the best driver on the market. It's the smash factor. If Mike can bring his smash factor up from 1.39 to 1.49 he will get 20-30 more yards. Its the swing, not the equipment.
FYI for anyone using those little club head speed radars. They pick up the toe, which generally moves about 5% faster than the middle of the face, which is what Trackman measures. So 105 on one of those radars is about 100 on TM. However, if you make contact around the perimeter the face (especially the toe or heel), this twists the club head open or closed very quickly and can result in readings that are way off. Best to throw out any bad contact numbers. Don’t need to worry about that with Trackman because it measures CHS juuust before impact.
Club head speed is just one component of distance. Other things like launch angle, smash factor, etc all contribute to the overall efficiency of the swing. So it’s totally possible to have the same swing speed but different distance numbers.
Have you found that the exercises messed with your swing? My instructor is trying to keep me from raising my front side heel in my backswing. I'm afraid the exercises will reinforce my bad habit.
We haven’t noticed the exercises creating any issues or bad habits with our swings. I think as long as you think of them as “exercises” or “speed training” and not as “swing drills” it’s easy to keep the movements as their own separate functions (if that makes sense 🤷🏼♂️)
Mike. You seriously need a driver fitting. Your carries on you base line swings speeds are way off what you should be getting for those swing speed (you were using the club head and not the handle to hit the ball, right?). Therefore you are going to show big distance increases through any form of practice that gets you hitting with a better smash factor. The video is well made and fun to watch but a total misrepresentation with regards to speed (or more correctly over speed) training. You swing plenty fast to play good golf. Why risk injury when you would be much better off practicing short game to lower scores. Unless you just want to bomb it and in that case do long drive.
I love the test, but the numbers don’t jibe. 100 mph will carry 235 with perfect launch conditions. The good thing is you can measure the difference even if the numbers aren’t accurate. Great job!
No way. 100mph should carry 250 if your driver/shaft are fit right and you hit the sweet spot. If you are swinging 100 and only carry 235 then it’s time to get re-fit or time take a little off because you are missing the center. It’s 2.5 yards per MPH. Not 2.35. If it was 2.35 no one on tour would carry 300.
Take out the baseline 203 yard shot for Mike. It’s an outlier and it skews his supposed total gains by nearly 10 yards. That and your “N” is so small it’s statistically meaningless.
I don't want to be a killjoy here but you can get the same result from doing crunches on an ab-roller for 30 days without the danger of hurting yourself and you'll have a stronger faster core. Basically, 30 days of speed training is just strengthening their core. Yes, there is danger in speed training. People hurt themselves doing speed training and I happen to know someone who did and now, years later, he can't even play golf. By strengthening the core, I know it's not fun, but you'll gain speed the safe way.
@@jsleaz True, but you'd be surprised what an ab roller can do for distance and it has great side effects like flat abs. I know you think it's silly or I'm joking but I'm serious.
Dangers of hurting your self? But i got scolosis i cant even do that 😂 the safest way to get faster was not workout gyms. It was super speed. This helped my clubheadspeed gain up. Also i would stretch after. I don’t hit with drivers like these guys in the vid bc that hurts my back.
Mike is slicing the ball significantly which is costing him 30-40 yards of carry. Frank his hitting baby draws with better launch and lower spin which allows him to get 250 carry with 10mph less of clubhead speed.
SMASH! Frank hits about 1.5 smash factor each time. With lower speed, it could easily go further. If I (mike) connect and get 1.5 and not 1.39, I'll see 300-315 easily every time. Working on Smash...
Forget about control now. What Hogan said in Power Golf is still accurate. Someone beginning to play should just try to kill it and worry about accuracy later. He didn’t necessarily have the science behind it, but you have to get out of your comfort zone zone by swinging faster.
Not sure i trust this radar, its so cheap (stick price vs stick + radar is only £70 diff) it clearly isnt reading right. E.g. the second guy (obviously im not a regular viewer just looking around for swing speed products) on first swing after 30 days the radar said 100mph but the ball speed (which i trust as the rapsodo is very accurate on that) said 155. You cant get a 1.55 smash factor so that club speed must have been closer to 105 assuming your smash was about 1.48. That 112 swing was never accurate, +12mph? No way not even if you “went for it”. Then 100 again with another 155 ball speed. The last 2 seemed more realistic for your ball speeds and distances. Seen other reviews saying the radar is inconsistent, and based on those 5 shots alone it seems to be true. Ill pass even with the discount code. Awesome video though, i just think some scrutiny of the results (maybe an accuracy test vs another radar) could be more beneficial to viewers. Still thumbs up for the content.
Great! Now you can hit your drives 30+ yards further into the woods! I bet physical therapists and chiropractors are going to get real busy after a bunch of out of shape middle age golfers follow this foolishness. Save your spine and joints and work on putting and chipping. This trend is just ego at work.

When we connect at high smash, we see those numbers "sometimes". We want it consistently, and now when we"connect" we want to see 300+
Did yochanges? Diet, new workouts, ect.
I picked up 7MPH in two weeks...this works
@@lukemurphy6315 120mph...lol I'm 48 yrs old with a sketchy back, so I'll be happy as hell if I cruise around 105 mph. But thanks.
Take a look at Seb Twaddell, he was already freaky fast and even faster now after Rypstick training!
@@williamcampbell8985 Just bought it this week and it came with the exact same radar.
Yall need to get different clubs if your swing 105 plus and not getting 260 plus carries, missing alot of distance with already decently fast swings.
Explains a lot . Thank you .
I bought the Ryp Stick based on this review, but it turns out you only get level 1 of the training without a subscription. 😞
Dang 149-153 ball speed off high 90s swing speed is really impressive. You’re hitting it on the nuts!! What compression ball do you play?
How is it the 97 mph hits farther than the 110 mine is 97 and not even close to those numbers?
@@Golficity That does make sense. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I might work an extra shift at my part time job to get one. :)
With 110 speed you should be minimum 250 carry what is your smash
That’s my biggest problem! Smash is about 1.39-1.4. I really need to move that up for way more yards. You see that at the end in my first shot - Mike
Big Dogg needs to stop hitting down on his driver and spinning the fuck outta it
working on it...
It seems to me that the slower guy has his stiff wrists preventing full hinge and release of the club and costing him some serious speed
Didn’t you try super speed too? How do these compare?
awesome
I love the test, but the numbers don’t jibe. 100 mph will carry 235 with perfect launch conditions. The good thing is you can measure the difference even if the numbers aren’t accurate. Great job!
No way. 100mph should carry 250 if your driver/shaft are fit right and you hit the sweet spot.
If you are swinging 100 and only carry 235 then it’s time to get re-fit or time take a little off because you are missing the center.
It’s 2.5 yards per MPH. Not 2.35. If it was 2.35 no one on tour would carry 300.
Have you researched this? I follow many fitters and they can determine what carry should be with optimal conditions.
Allen Ronald Smith Jason Lopez Jason
Take out the baseline 203 yard shot for Mike. It’s an outlier and it skews his supposed total gains by nearly 10 yards. That and your “N” is so small it’s statistically meaningless.
Glad to see someone else trying to break 100 mph.
How did that man hit driver only 220-240 yards to start?
Thomas William Martinez Thomas Taylor Ruth
Riggs and his wonky swing should try this
Mike could gain 20+ yards just by getting a driver that produces less spin. 115 mph should be producing over 300 yard drives
By strengthening the core, I know it's not fun, but you'll gain speed the safe way.
um no...ab roller is not going to teach you proper weight transfer sequencing and how use linear/lateral forces.
110 mph swing speed, you should be carrying at least 270 all day. I think you need to optimize your driver specs

So Frank’s slower swing speed carries further than Mike’s higher swing speed in the first 5 shots…Interesting
Draw goes further than a fade...
no it doesnt, his contact was just better
@@stephentrupkovic4105
Mike is slicing the ball significantly which is costing him 30-40 yards of carry. Frank his hitting baby draws with better launch and lower spin which allows him to get 250 carry with 10mph less of clubhead speed.
Just look at smash factor with 1.5 as the goal
SMASH! Frank hits about 1.5 smash factor each time. With lower speed, it could easily go further. If I (mike) connect and get 1.5 and not 1.39, I'll see 300-315 easily every time. Working on Smash...
Your carry numbers should be better than that with 110 swingspeed brother!
That’s simply hitting the ball not on the center club face. When I catch it … I can see 300 yards for sure.
Do it a few more months and it likely won’t creep up much tho
Miller Matthew Moore Scott Hall Lisa
Forget about control now. What Hogan said in Power Golf is still accurate. Someone beginning to play should just try to kill it and worry about accuracy later. He didn’t necessarily have the science behind it, but you have to get out of your comfort zone zone by swinging faster.
Don’t swing controlled that is your problem the idea is to give it everything and let your brain feel faster speeds. Let it go and dial back later!
How does someone swing 110 mph and the ball only go 240? The math is not mathing
Why do Americans get tired after 5 golf swings?
Ah.... so..... buy a brand new driver, got it.
7000 spin rate on a driver....wow
You can hold 2 clubs together and get the same results. Just like swinging 2 baseball bats together
Still thumbs up for the content.
should be wearing gym clothes..did you add yoga and weight training to this as well?
Great! Now you can hit your drives 30+ yards further into the woods! I bet physical therapists and chiropractors are going to get real busy after a bunch of out of shape middle age golfers follow this foolishness. Save your spine and joints and work on putting and chipping. This trend is just ego at work.
