Like Christmas 😂
@@jayzzz1234 well yeah if you have to buy all the gifts yourself :P
Awesome review, dude! 😃
Looking forward to the flight video!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks as always brother!
Yes same here :D but I first have to make a couple of video's (not sure why as they won't be watched but ohw well :P)
Cheers and have a good weekend!
Cant wait for build video . Thanks for the review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank You for stopping by :)
there won't be a "build" video per sé but I will do some short video's about the components (motors & stack)
It’s a frame of pure beauty ❤
yeah and I like that it's an Evolution instead of a Revolution :)
Great overview of the new Apex EVO frame. I have and love the original Apex. Those rubber standoffs are used with Kiss flight controllers. Definitely recommended for the Kiss Ultra, works great. Happy flying. 🤓
Thanks John :)
damn man.. I had not seen those in AGES :D and yep.. if the Kiss FC have a hard-mount you would for sure want to use those :)
For what you get physically, I don't think it's worth the price... But for the reputation of their quality control, I think it may be.
the thing fits together Very well.. having said that: I've had other frames that fit well.. I just finished the quad last Thusday and it does feel good but true: you don't get extra's like you could (should?) expect for this price :)
(the previous version DID come with a second set of bumpers in black by the way)
@@DutchRC Would you mind telling me the height of the front standoffs and camera mounts? Are they 28mm tall? I'm working on some frame designs.
@@ExplorewithZac 28mm indeed Zac :)
Nice intro to the ApexDC Evo frame, thank you! I did not clearly understand, did you get an additional set of steel screws with the frame in the package?
Thank you! yes the "mr steele" version comes with Extra screws but ironically they are NOT steel :D (they are alluminium lighter screws)
@@DutchRC thanks!
It's perfectly logic that the frame comes with the motor screws, because they know how thick the arms are, the ones the comes with the motors can be anything, not suited for the exact thickness of the arms of the frame you're putting them on.
Sure.. I won't complain and maybe I somehow most times get motors with 2 screw sizes.. it's not like the frame is unuseually thick
Nice review! Frame looks solid. It also seems that the Apex frames are the only frames with replacement parts in stock around here, which is the main reason I went for it.😅 Cant find anything for my other frames (Foxeer and Armattan).
Mooi kanaal heb je! Ik moet mijn Dunglisch nog leren omarmen, na 20 video's gaat het een beetje wennen.😄
Hahahahaha Dunglisch! :P Thanks man ;)
I actually had a HARD time finding Apex parts in the past but it could have improved ofcourse so good to read that! :D
@@DutchRC It could be that I was just lucky. Unfortunately no Evo Deadcat version in the Dutch webshops, found mine in Germany with a set of 4 spare 6" arms and 4 spare 5" arms in France, haha.
Enjoy your weekend!
didn't even know there was a new version! this seems to be the only video on it?
the nr. of views kinda shows how broken youtube is
Haha yeahhh how about that huh ;) It's indeed kinda useless to make these reviews :)
The long strip of foam it is for if you want to replace the skids with a light version of lads just cat the strip of foam in a small 4 pieces and stick them under arm 🙂 old trick of MR Steele 😉
ahh yeah I have heaps of "landing feet" made out of foam with rounded corners.. From Hobbyking (10 years ago? :P) I think.. Definately not something Steele came up with
BUT I would have never guessed that was the intend of the strip :D
Yes you're right it is older then mr Steele's... the rounded age was for landing pads and they did s great job 🙂 i like your clip full with useful info 😉 👍
@@Gabriel-qh5yv I actually probably have them pads in some of my older video's :D and thanks man! Appreciated :)
Would you pay the extra $$ for the mr. Steele version by the way?
@@Gabriel-qh5yv ps: found one! You can see them pads on the quad in the intro :D

@@DutchRC comes with aluminium hardware and some electronics ... probably yes 😉
Have the Evo non-DCs. Its durable and tuning is easy. Its a little heavy. If you say 135g its still without prints and some screws. I wnated to have the Vannistyle pro its like 120 grams i think. Im probably going to do an sbang build on a lighter frame too.
thanks for the feedback! What lighter frame do you have in mind?
and yes: my Apex evo basically needs no tuning and very little filtering
like qualmula mini, vannystyle or even halorc osiris its the lightest 5 inch frame ive seen by now@@DutchRC
Hi dutch, can you let me know the measurements between the rear stand-offs? I have spare tpu antenna mounts for the original Apex hopefully they fit, I've already ordered the non dead cat steele version a few weeks ago. I will not be happy if the kit doesn't come with black or red skids as well and i just get coyote skids. Thanks for your review ive been wondering why no one has been reviewing this frame.
Also have they increased the hight where the stack is mounted its a tight fit on the original.
post-center to post-center = 33mm .. let me know if that's the same actually!
I would expect most of the frame is the same though and for that: check out my next video (online in 30 minutes) about the stack.. it's indeed Not spacious but well. pretty much perfect really..
@@DutchRC Thank you.
Keep up the videos I will check the measurements when I get home thanks again.
@@DutchRC sorry for the late reply on stack sizes on the back I've got 33mm centre to centre as well so the original antenna tpus should fit the new frame.
Just received mine. In the first 10 minutes I realized I had only 3 press nuts instead of the 8 I needed. For a 100 bucks this should not be happening. Now I had to search Amazon for replacements. I hope they fit. The O3 mount is a joke. For a frame built around the O3 they did a crap job on producing a good kit. Speedy Bees frame kills this any day of the week. Can''t recommend this kit for the price they charge.
That sounds pretty crappy.. I did order mine as a normal customer but I can't be 100% sure they didn't somehow knew I have this channel...
You could ofcourse just have that 1 frame where they screwed up but who knows...
It's only a 100 bucks over there by the way?? :@ :P grrrr
I personally like the O3 mount.. You would have preferred a 3D print?
@@DutchRC Tom at Defiance RC sent me some. However the ones I purchased on Amazon were a perfect fit. Ironically there was one comment that mentioned Impulse RC and that very quad. Seems I'm not the only one who got shorted.
As an owner of many original aliens, 4" apex and warpquad frames - I was really hoping the would be as good. Its not. For the price they should include the gopro mount, RX mount, a gps mount, a second battery strap and have instructions for the EVO available. Man, at least they sent some stickers with my original alien frame. The alien was ground breaking the EVO is only middling.
Drone reviews with sean connery 😅
Hahaha :D Been a while sinds I got that comment! :D (I got it more often when I still smoked :P)
your a dead ringer for him, embrace it man just embrace it 😅
@@SYNAPTICFPV that's kinda an unfortunate use of "dead" :D hahahaha
You talk like Goldmember.
Wellllll yeah I guess we're both Dutch (one pretending to be that is :P )
overpriced
it's definately not the bargain of the week ;)
