Excellent range test. I received my Air 3 yesterday and going to do a range test tomorrow. I think turning off OA would conserve a little bit more of the battery and also use cruise control on the way back too. I'll be flying over water (Lake) too. Thanks for the video. Very cool!

You're brave to fly over water...it's a beautiful result of 10km. I was a maximum of 6km apart and back above the ground around the road

Things not to do if you will fly long range:
1. Fiddling around the menus wasting 5% of battery capacity
2. ...
You start with 100% every time. Period.
Every percent wasted before flight may be the one you would have needed to get home safe and not landing in the water.

I’d add two more,
3. Be aware of wind speed and direction. Catching a tail wind out can give you false confidence on range and battery life
4. Don’t ignore auto return home. Your drone bases it’s RTH estimate on many different factors including #3 above. Your drone will know it’s being pushed along by wind and will estimate that it will be against it on the way back. Not sure how messing around with the menus on your controller depletes battery on the drone….

This is a false representation in the sense that this is a obstacle free flight which very few people have in reality. This isn't really a true value of the drones capability in what would be a built up area for most of us. Nice flight though.
Yeah the title of the video basically states exactly that.
