@doyourownresearch7297 if you actually play an instrument I probably would say show proof you can do better and prove that statement but if you're a non musician or singer I do feel it's better to not provide opinion on that part of it. A big problem with a lot of musicians now is that their stage presence is meh at best and shit at worst and it makes for a very boring experience at gigs. But also the amount of talent doesn't actually determine how much people like or hate a band or artist. Is Chris Martin the best pianist or singer out there? Probably not but Coldplays stage presence is enough for them to keep selling out tours. To some people David Gilmour is the best front men for a band in the world to some that are more knowledgeable about music itself, production etc they may say no since there isn't a lot of technical bits in his solos and main riffs. The stage presence they give off is more important. Ultimately, it's all opinion at the end of the day but the long and short of it is that you can have something technically impressive but presented ok/poorly and it will either be forgotten or remembered for the wrong reason but inversely, you can have something that technically is OK but presented extremely well and people will remember it and that goes for all sorts of things not just music
@@doyourownresearch7297 simple does not equal lack of skill. Actually, making memorable riffs is a big part of a bassist job. Have you ever played an instrument?

@ceciliachisholm5762 bit harsh! Maybe look at some more clips... Research a bit before deciding that she doesn't care about musicianship. Do you play bass? Because I do, and playing an instrument yourself changes how you view musicians and helps you to understand the time and effort it takes to get to a decent enough level of competancy to be able to play in a band, on stage, without nerves causing mistakes. Who cares. The whole band has that aesthetic. Rock stars pranced around in barely any clothes for the entirety of the 80s, but only now when it's a girl it becomes a problem. Not everyone wants to be like the Foo Fighters and be boring. It's rock 'n roll.
I like how people that say "you shouldn't judge a musician based on looks" are ironically the same people judging her based on her looks and not her playing.

In today's musical world, you don't need to portray a certain type of image, there's more flexibility.....just like always, if you create a good hook that resignates with people the rest should take care of itself CHEERS to ALL
@@duanewright1412 kiss was more an anomaly also because yes their music was popular but they marketed the hell out of themselves and sold their image like no other band before or since them. With the amount of guys who are allowed to be mediocre without harassment, why is a woman who enjoys fashion suddenly unworthy, even when she proves she is indeed quite skilled? I swear the weird "pretty can't mean they're smart or talented" dichotomy needs to die off, it just screams of classic childish misogyny. Great video, thankyou for backing her up!!
You mean like how women don't do anything wrong but if a man goes near a woman in the gym he's automatically labeled a creep. Or how women automatically get custody of children and the man gets ran through the court system? Your misandry is top notice. You're hypocritical at your best and loathsome at your worst.
isn't it misandrist to think of only women when described as misogyny and men not being pretty? wasn't matt rife plagued with this recently? Either way maybe it's happening to a woman because usually men don't dress like $luts
The guys doing that pick apart pretty women this way because they view them as having too many things going for them already and that’s not fair. Those guys also normally have zero drive to be truly good at anything and can’t stand seeing that in a woman because it makes them feel small. In reality, those women are just taking care of their appearances and keeping up with hobbies. Which is, like you mentioned, something guys do everyday and no one bats an eye. Dude logic. I can imagine hopefully most guys aren’t this insecure.
@danielragsdale9849 uh huh tell me thst again when she hits the wall and all the make up and plastic surgeries in the world won't bring her youth back and you're fawning over a new bassist girl. Get real. Not many guys are insecure, they are just tired of the fake crap. And I bet simps like you and the guy making this video are all the same. You know you'll never meet her and she'll never look your way. She'll go after the 1 percent, get ran through like a train, and then when it's wall time, scream where are all the good men at. Answer is they took care of themselves and didn't worry about idiots like her
As a girl bassist, when you are a woman musitian, unless you create a 3rd arm, they'll ALWAYS be people to criticize and say you don't play well, no matter what.
Not sure if you knew the word musician doesn't have a T in it and I don't mean to nitpick about spelling so hopefully you don't take my pointing that out on here negatively but I couldn't do it privately. Just trying to be helpful so next time you spell musician nobody gives you any shit for it cuz for all I know maybe it's just typo from typing too fast.

My wife and I LOVE this band. This bassist in particular. She actually inspired my wife to start playing Bass. I even bought her a Dano Longhorn for Christmas a couple of years ago. As someone who’s been playing music for over two and a half decades myself, it’s nice to have someone to jam with! I’ll always appreciate her for being unapologetic, and kickass. That's so cool! Victoria also inspired me to start playing bass guitar. While taking a photo with her after a concert, I had a chance to exchange couple of words with her, and she is such a nice young girl. It is obvious that they always put up a hell of a show, have had an astonishing international success and have kept a humble and sensible attitude that's almost incredible at their age. I think it's probably because of numerous societal double standards that are still quite common in combination with the expected audience.
Generally speaking, men aren't attracted to men nor women to women.
So if a man is shirtless the men don't care and it's somehow okay for single women to be attracted to him. Whereas if a woman is scantily clad, the women may not care but it's NOT OKAY for single men to be attracted to her.

Secondly: She most definetely doesn't only play the bass. They write the songs together and let's be for real: The creative process behind the creation of a song is FAR more important than being the most skilled at your instrument. She must be talented for thet reason alone.
Third: Thank her. Without her the group wouldn't exist. She was part of why this band exists and even gave them their name. The four of them met at school and formed this band together.
