Microsoft seems to have disabled this workaround. At least on my box I can't remove the web search by adding the mentioned registry key as local administrator. My Windows is: Windows 11 Pro, Version 23H2, build 22631.3593
Thanks for this, I really started to hate Microsoft just because how aggresively they puch users to use Bing and Edge. I wish Users did not have to do this type of tricks. Cost of using windows is not only what we pay also our time to get rid of these uggly enforsed features!
because disabling web/bing integration in search disables all those integrations in the search experience. the picture on the search bar is season/event based and it's retreived via bing.
You do not need to restart whole computer for changes to apply with registry method. You only need to relog in to your account and web search thing will not be there anymore
@@Pureinfotech yeah but there are some individuals that run windows 11/10 on HDDs and I was one of them for some time. On those disks restarting the system takes a LONG time
@@speedy2263 I can understand that, but it's the safest option. Otherwise, we may end up with a lot of comments saying that it's not working... Sometimes, restart is recommended to make sure.
Thank you so much!
This and any other solution has not worked for me.
