I guy working for ASUS actually told me to download this program because as he claimed, "ASUS is never truly uninstalled if you just use the ASUS uninstaller app." Glad you're are finally bringing this to light Jay.
Used this program from more than 5 years. It's amazing and gets rid of 99.9% of files. Cleans the registry files ...ect. it amazed me the first time and never stopped using it
@@aibi5532 the free one will only find files of programs still installed EX you have ASUS RGB installed and use this it will get everything but if you uninstall it using ASUS uninstaller it can't find the registry files, the paid versions do find those registries even after using ASUS uninstaller years later. The portable version allows you to boot it on a flash drive which is worth the price if you do system repairs for the less techy, I fixed one person's laptop that took 2 min to boot using this, and 99% of the issues were small registry files that were not deleted, Windows and these software companies are sneaky they leave junk behind intentionally.
I remember that a while ago you asked what kind of content we would like to see more on your channel. So I think that the example above in this clip is exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for everything!

Thank you , thank you, THANK YOU! I have been struggling with Adobe PDF reader for about 6 months not playing right, not allowing quick prints from outlook, constantly crashing. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried compatibility mode - nothing. Tried using Adobe cleaner/removal tool - nothing. Tried the Adobe forum - nothing. @@pmajoros I know where you are coming from, but I have to regularly sign documents using Adobe digital certificates, so unfortunately for me there is no getting away from it.
Been using revo for a while, it's awesome. It's great to know that when i use it to uninstall something, i'm removing EVERYTHING even remotely to do with it too including registry files, temp files and stuff. It's great.
I've used Revo in my standard PC cleaning toolkit for a long while now. My other favourite feature is "Hunter Mode". Got something up on your screen you have no idea where it comes from? Activate Hunter Mode, and drag the crosshair onto it. Revo will find what that thing is.
@@remz03ryder It took me a while to figure out how to use it, but it works well for me. You need to click and drag the crosshair that shows up on your desktop to the screen you want to "hunt".
Just purchased the 2-year sub and download under the Valentines' sale. This way I can toss it on a flash drive and use it on the various PCs we use for work. Thanks for this. Love these videos.
I've been using Revo for years now - Kudos to Phil for recommending it. This is one of the first things I add to a PC, and I never use the Windows uninstall function to remove software anymore. This is part of my essential software list of perhaps 7 titles that I would ALWAYS include on every PC that I set up.
Also been using it for the last decade. It's one of the first things I install on any PC. Free version has been great. Hopefully this doesn't tank it 😅
I have been using this for a long time now. our little gamer friend likes to move files back and forth between 3 drives and couldn't format his second and third drive, so i used Revo and got rid of so much junk that was left behind. After using Revo we formatted and got his computer running smoothly. Using the advance option in scanning literally helps soooo much. Thank you for always making great videos Mr!!! your my go to guy for tech and reviews!!!
Exactly this; I used to use CCleaner, but due to Enshittification I've moved over to Revo. I honestly don't think I've used the built-in uninstaller in Windows since Windows 98.
I've used this to get rid of stubborn malware that Norton, at the time, considered "safe". I've also used it to completely clean out stuff program uninstallers leave behind just like Jay demonstrates to fix odd problems. Revo gets a big thumbs up from me.
I had to use an anti-malware program to get rid of Norton after I bought a pc it was pre-installed on. When I uninstalled Norton, it kept re-installing itself and popping up messages spamming me to buy it. I am the owner of my pc, you don't get to decide whether I will use your software or not. That I needed an anti-malware program to get rid of it turned me off forever. I will NEVER use Norton again since they decided it was fine to be like a virus themselves. Never use Norton, they are not trustworthy.
I think alotta people today use the built in windows defender, been 7 years on gaming pc and never a break in or harmful file. Keeps your rig lighter instead of unneeded antivirus software.
@@Jwebbplayz This was a long time ago when I thought antivirus was a good thing and maybe it is to an extent. But I've never used any other 3rd party antivirus beyond standard windows defender for several years now and have never encountered an issue with it.

This video highlights one of the main reasons why I reinstall Windows once a year. Keeps Windows clean and fast, while it also forces me to keep only the stuff I need and wipe anything else. This software looks really useful for those who keep their Windows installation for longer. (Sometimes it's necessary, or simply too time-consuming for a fresh install, though)
Same here. I have my list of software that I need to reinstall and my files are stored on a NAS. Takes less time to reinstall windows than it does to clean it up.
That's funny because i was using revo uninstaller since forever and just today I reinstalled my brother's PC that i was maintaining once a while and acording to the USB devices history It wasn't reinstalled since 2011 :D It still had Windows 7 32bits and was running fine but the harddrive had 22 000 hours so i replaced it with SSD just to be sure.
I have a complete disk image that I reinstall every now and then ... Reinstalling from image takes like 15min ... and It bring back every, they way they were on the day the image was created. The OS, Drivers, Programs, settings, et c ... it's a lot easier. I only install programs that I need. And anything that I need to use only ones I install through a virtual machine.

Thank you. I've just downloaded Revo as a free 29-day trial, without having to give any payment details or even my email address. I have removed Microsoft Edge, Co-Pilot and Cortana. My laptop (new this year) has sped up so much - it's like it can breathe again! So thank you.
I’ve been having issues with iCue v5 crashing on my PC until you posted this video. I downloaded Revo and did a complete uninstall and clean install and no issues. Thanks!
I have used the portable version of this for years. it's something i used to do manually for things like OBS because the uninstaller leaves so much crap behind that it can't remove the virtual webcam and your cameras in windows are forever broken. revo gets all the bits without me needing to find them. After your video i think i might show them some love, grab a few pro copies through work.
I had a homie who showed me this last year. Definitely a life saver on certain applications. Especially for office and other casinos where if you uninstall or delete a folder now you cant uninstall.
So, thanks to all the team. I had no chance to fast remove references of VMware tools from several computers, which were cloned frome a VM template Windows install. Removing the software (when it worked) did not remove totally the traces, and neither using a fresher version of VMWare tools could help me to clean up all remainings. Compliance and vulnerability check still thought that VMWare was still there. I give RevoUninstaller a shot in Portable version. Installing an uninstaller would not make much sense to me. Until now I removed in 3 minutes what I was not able to clean up in 1h of manual registry cleanup. I'll keep that tool in my box, may save me more time than retrieve it.
Finally! This fixed a problem I've had with Razor Synapse. I use two different Razor mice and for some reason only one started to show up in Synapse. Been uninstalling and reinstalling Synapse for weeks and multiple times but nothing changed. With this I completely removed everything and reinstalled Synapse and now everything shows up in the program. Thank you!
I downloaded it immediately and found games I "no longer have installed" taking up so much disk space, hundreds of Gb's despite them being uninstalled. Thanks Jay and the Team!
you probably know this already but this is for others who dont and are skeptical of the "freaking out"; your screen freaking out when you uninstall programs via this application is it running command line executions via command prompt, which auto close the window instantly because its likely just single executions of deleting files and registry entries, which is why it looks like a ton of command prompt windows are flashing in and out of existence. it's a normal thing and nothing to worry about. you can do many of those things revo does yourself but that takes a long time because you have to write all the scripts to do it, but they all generally follow the same template.
Yeah. When I removed Armoury Crate I found out it's better to use a program that Asus made (they install so much junk you need a second program made to uninstall it... Wtf Asus...). And it does this same thing, a bunch of cmd windows start flashing uninstalling all the crap they installed.
@@The_Curious_Cat Been that way as long as I can remember so far as custom uninstallers. Main culprits have always been GPU and antivirus software, in my experience. Jay really should have rebooted though and possibly ran CCleaner for orphan files and invalid reg keys. Hey Jay, I use the portable version all the time personally and for my business with my clients and it's a good send. On top of that, there is also the hunter mode that makes finding pesky hidden files a breeze. You can point it to the location where the file is and it will hunt down all related files and give you the option to delete them. Just another feature you should know about. Love your videos man!
Yes! Hunter Mode is perfect for the situation he was talking about at the end with Razer Synapse instead of having to reinstall it. Hopefully he sees your comment. I've been using Revo for 6+ years at this point as well.
There should be options for the default uninstallers to select full wipe and remove all the files it placed in the first place. I understand why they would leave behind if you plan to reinstall or if they want to continue using telemetry to monitor. That’s just my TwoCentz 🤙
Or instead of worrying about a third party utility that could possibly nuke. Santay is important that you shouldn't nuke.... Learn how to create a script executable file that will clean up or nuke. Stay in the Linux world. Because they realize how much more control they have over things. Since everything is a file and everything anything can be nuked or edited
Some built in uninstallers get everything rid of. But mostly don't. It all depends on how well the developers created the uninstallater (yes, if you take time to code it, you can actually make one which is so good, that gets rid of everything that your exe installed on users machine)

Jay - You're a lifesaver! I've used Revo in the past but had forgotten about it. I've watched your channel for quite some time, and enjoy your presentations. This one on Revo proved VERY useful! I use Opera as my primary browser - have used it since version 1 , it is now at 106! Recently I was having trouble logging into my bank's website, though I have had no problems in the past. I have Opera (same build on my laptop and desktop). I could log in just fine on the desktop but kept getting errors on my laptop and could not log in. Chatting with the bank's tech support was no help. After trying everything I could think of (I'm well-versed in computers) I saw your video. I installed Revo on my laptop and ran it to delete Opera completely, then reinstalled. Tried logging into my bank, had no problem! Apparently there was some crap in the registry or wherever that was causing the problem and Revo may it go bye-bye! Thanks again for the excellent video, and keep up your great work! BTW, I love your sense of humor.
Jay you are the fn MAN for this. This worked to get rid of all the asus crap that I regretfully installed when I got my ROG mouse. Even after uninstalling everything manually, ASUS was still running several programs on my PC which did not show up in add/remove program. I found the EXE's in my Program Files (and x86) but couldn't delete them because they were being used by an application. And it was wack-a-mole trying to kill the apps. With the free trial of the pro version of Revo, I was able to permanently get rid of all ASUS crap. AMAZING! Thanks Jay.
Revo is a fantastic proggie. Have been using it years. Be CAREFUL when deleting the leftover files on advanced. Make sure you look at them before deleting. There may be data you want to keep that is attached to it because it will find everything.
Finally I’ve been using it for years I used to work in my uncles pc repair shop when I was teen and he used it to clean old pc’s. Picked up on his methods and been rolling with Revo ever since
I discovered REVO years ago. The startup is a bit odd because, I think, it's listing the 'easy' stuff to find. Simply wait until the whole list is loaded. REVO is a god-send for my work. I use the Revo Uninstaller Portable which is a stand-alone that I can also run from USB. The $25 is really worth it if you want to do some major cleaning out. (I'm looking at you NORTON!) Great video. Thanks!!!
Quick tip: If the piece of software you're uninstalling does not have a GUI for the normal uninstall process it can be difficult to recognize that the program you're uninstalling has actually run it's native uninstall. Anytime this happens to me, I make sure to give it just a little extra time before running the Revo portion of the process for leftover files.
Ever since I started my first pc building journey a few years back, I came across your channel. It has been a lifesaver! Thank you for all your tips and insights.

I have used Revo in the past. I now use Hi-Bit Uninstaller. It does the same sort of job but has many tools in addition. Also freeware. Updated much more often.
Genuine question, where do you download that one? Because when I search the application name I get about 10 or 12 sketchy, obviously not official, download websites for the program and can't find an official looking one.

Sure enough they had me use this tool and reinstall the program and it worked perfectly. Been using it to uninstall everything instead of control panel and has fixed so many weird bugs
For me it is not new, as I am using this program since Windows XP era. Great to remove junk or old AV programs and give old PC new live. Much faster than reinstalling the whole system. This is how build-in uninstaller should work. Makes a backup and then removes ALL stuff associated with the program/app. I am surprised that something like this is not present in PRO or Server versions of Windows.
I love Revo. My dad used it for so many years before he passed. I’ve also used Bulk Crap Uninstaller which is fully free and open source. Another good one is Wise Uninstaller that’s free. I think Wise Uninstaller has a paid version as well. Though the free one is perfect. Also regarding Asus Armory Crate. G-Helper is perfect for Asus laptops. Fully free and Open Source as well. Not sure if it works on the ROG Ally though. Great video Jay :D
I use BCU to do this. It's more cluttered with features and options but it's actually simpler because it uses all that information on screen really well. The reason i don't use Revo is because it always looked like it was half-baked and i never trusted it to mess up with the registry and locked files.
Nice. Stumbled on this one as a suggested video, and it finally solves my problem with getting rid of crappy ASUS apps that refuse to go away! Got rid of it in seconds!
As someone who's worked for a while when I was younger on these problematics at a large scale, I can tell you the main reason why so many config files, registry, etc... are left behind by many windows installers, including litterally Windows Installer, the installation engine for MSI files, is that most people have no clue what the're doing. It's kind of sad, knowing one of the main reasons for Windows Installer to exist in the first place was to solve this issue. And for other more or less standard installers, well... If people can script config installation, they should know how to script removal. (come on, even the potential "keep my settings for later" thing should be an option, not something by default. But hey, people who can't script shit properly in one direction can't script shit properly in the opposite direction I guess ^^') At least it's a good thing that options exist to clean this mess, but come on... That's just... sad. :D
Excellent! Funnily enough, I installed the free Revo Uninstaller on 1st June 2023, but never got around to trying it out because I was a bit scared of losing something I might need. Now, thanks to you, I'll go and have a look and see what's what. Thanks for your encouragement, and stay well.
I purchased the Pro version. Be aware that the Forced Uninstall option only works if you know the name of the software that was previously uninstalled. It does NOT search for remnants of programs unless you specify the program name.
Thanks for this! I've heard this software mentioned before in my 2+ decades of IT and never really gave it much thought. This video changed my mind, and I am so thankful!!! Great video!!!
Think you should do a video on the bloat that comes with Windows nowadays and the debloater tools you can get and what they can do. Before and after or disk space, processes, memory usage that sort of thing.
Can't even recall what leftover software now, but I've had Revo sort an annoying problem for me in the past. Revo having a portable version means I can keep it ready without yet another program being installed.
I usually use IObit Uninstaller for this, would love to see a video that compares these software's, strengths and weaknesses and all that good stuff. Thanks for putting this on my radar ❤
I've used IObit Uninstaller for a long time, but their adware bundled installer, and the regular ad banner pop-ups from IObit products made me change my mind. I've switched to Geek Uninstaller, same functionality, but free, light and portable ad-free software.
I'll say that the only defense that Big Tech may make with that "junk" that's left behind an uninstall of their software is license tracking. I agree this cr4p needs to be gone - we own our PCs, not Big Tech! As a field PC tech consultant of over 15 years, I've used past iterations of software like this (spywareblaster, AVG, etc) to regularly maintenance clients' systems (usually on a yearly cycle). Thank you for sharing a new iteration of a great tool. I just pray that the developers don't put this behind a paywall now there's a huge influx of downloads.
Some files are naturally going to be left behind until next reboot because they’re still in use. Do those reboots when suggested and they’re being queued up for deletion upon reboot. Mostly.
Can't believe I didn't know about this. But I wonder if it can get too aggressive and delete something another program (or Windows!) might need. I would do the restore point thing, test drive for awhile and then delete the restore point if I need space maybe.
I used to use this program years ago, and I did find it to be the best uninstaller program at the time. So much so that I moved to the paid-for program. I don't use it nowadays more so because of laziness, as I don't make too many changes to my happy setup. Thanks for the review. Worth getting.

I have been using this for a long time now. our little gamer friend likes to move files back and forth between 3 drives and couldn't format his second and third drive, so i used Revo and got rid of so much junk that was left behind. Exactly this; I used to use CCleaner, but due to Enshittification I've moved over to Revo. I honestly don't think I've used the built-in uninstaller in Windows since Windows 98.
I’ve been using Revo since 2013. It’s always been a must have piece of software for me.
You could also use it to uninstall Norton. Nobody should use a 3rd Party Antivirus software
I think alotta people today use the built in windows defender, been 7 years on gaming pc and never a break in or harmful file. Keeps your rig lighter instead of unneeded antivirus software.

I keep Revo on a Thumb drive, and it is a part of every fresh install of Windows for years. Great Product!
you probably know this already but this is for others who dont and are skeptical of the "freaking out"; your screen freaking out when you uninstall programs via this application is it running command line executions via command prompt, which auto close the window instantly because its likely just single executions of deleting files and registry entries, which is why it looks like a ton of command prompt windows are flashing in and out of existence. it's a normal thing and nothing to worry about. you can do many of those things revo does yourself but that takes a long time because you have to write all the scripts to do it, but they all generally follow the same template.
Yeah. When I removed Armoury Crate I found out it's better to use a program that Asus made (they install so much junk you need a second program made to uninstall it... Wtf Asus...). And it does this same thing, a bunch of cmd windows start flashing uninstalling all the crap they installed.

Some built in uninstallers get everything rid of. But mostly don't. It all depends on how well the developers created the uninstallater (yes, if you take time to code it, you can actually make one which is so good, that gets rid of everything that your exe installed on users machine)

The Absolute BEST Piece of Software EVER! You cant uninstall and install certain, countless programs where whatever was left before was causing the issue hence why reinstall didnt really work but this, THIS IS THE ANSWER!!! But hey, people who can't script shit properly in one direction can't script shit properly in the opposite direction I guess ^^')
At least it's a good thing that options exist to clean this mess, but come on... That's just... sad. :D
Excellent! Funnily enough, I installed the free Revo Uninstaller on 1st June 2023, but never got around to trying it out because I was a bit scared of losing something I might need. Now, thanks to you, I'll go and have a look and see what's what.

I purchased the Pro version. Be aware that the Forced Uninstall option only works if you know the name of the software that was previously uninstalled. It does NOT search for remnants of programs unless you specify the program name.
ive been using this for a few years now and its amazing. Super helpful when helping friends with their PCs
I just checked online and this software is currently selling for a 50% valentines day discount.
Same here
and I think in my option iobit uninstaller is doing better though
I've used IObit Uninstaller for a long time, but their adware bundled installer, and the regular ad banner pop-ups from IObit products made me change my mind. I've switched to Geek Uninstaller, same functionality, but free, light and portable ad-free software.
I m using bc uninstaller and it works great
Yep, the same here. But it is free version + CCleaner for registry. For years now. I think it works flawlessly
I’ve been using this application for YEARS and it does not disappoint. Kudos, my friend. 👍🏻
"This is not a sponsored video" - immediately plays a World of Warships sponsor spot.
True, but he meant not sponsored by the app he was talking about - Revo.
Not sponsored by Revo
missed the boat, the free version is highley stripped down ill still give it a go. They have 50% off but early feb is a bad time to ask me for money
What about BCU (Bulk Crap Uninstaller)? Isn't it better than Revo?
I freaking love your pfp men
I'll say that the only defense that Big Tech may make with that "junk" that's left behind an uninstall of their software is license tracking.
Got Revo in a Humble Bundle years ago and while it works really well it takes about 15 minutes just to OPEN on my computer due to scanning over 30TB
remove all the hent.... anime
What would expect? Its 30TB.
Also, at this point you should consider a NAS if you have 30TB in your main build.
@@robster7787 Yeah or not.... I don't need a NAS, my computer can hold all my drives
Some files are naturally going to be left behind until next reboot because they’re still in use. Do those reboots when suggested and they’re being queued up for deletion upon reboot. Mostly.
The Free version doesn’t ‘remove remnants of already uninstalled programs’. Did that change since this video came out 2 days ago?
Says in the video that it didn’t do that
You can get the free trial of the pro version to do that, then keep using the free version from then on
Can't believe I didn't know about this. But I wonder if it can get too aggressive and delete something another program (or Windows!) might need. I would do the restore point thing, test drive for awhile and then delete the restore point if I need space maybe.
I don't know. Probably has some cross-check for if a file is needed.
I was 100% you are talking about revo when you started talking about left behind files, i use it for years
If you use Revo to Uninstall Revo does the Universe end? 🤨
Ouroborus!!!
I used to use this program years ago, and I did find it to be the best uninstaller program at the time. So much so that I moved to the paid-for program. I don't use it nowadays more so because of laziness, as I don't make too many changes to my happy setup. Thanks for the review. Worth getting.
Forced Uninstall - remove remnants of already uninstalled programs Behind paywall now
They already moved "Uninstall Windows Apps" to the Pro version lmao
Have another look
@@digitaldelirium4297Advanced scanning is in the Pro version now 😔
Welp, 2 weeks later, its already behind a paywall. Free version and pro version? I though it was completely free. On free version it says:
❌Forced Uninstall - remove remnants of already uninstalled programs
❌Extended scanning for leftovers
So i guess its useless now for the free version?
So not even worth trying it? My main is BC Uninstaller
Used this software for years. I will say, Always make sure you click SELECT ALL then DELETE. As Jay shows us at 8:06 it skips the deletion. Not sure if he noticed or not. Great piece of software. PC Decrapifier was also good but they EOL that
wow only 2 monthly later and everything is behind the paywall.... Jay wasn't wrong, shame i only just now found this
Yup... time to pirate!
10:42 lists every feature that's in the free and pro versions, there is literally nothing new that has gone behind a paywall since this video came out. How do I know? I'm on their website right now looking, so unless they changed something and then changed it back since you've left this comment, all anyone else has to do is go on their website and look at their comparison table to see that you're spreading misinformation.
$20 for 2 years bro. Calm down. Great Code isn’t free.
They still have a free version
