I wanted a non-glass case but they didn't have white in stock, so I have a glass case now. You should still manage the cables though for better airflow purposes.
Can I close my backpanel? If yes, then the cables are managed well enough 😂 If not, try to push the panel a little harder and if it still doesnt want to close: time to manage the cables better!
I come from the early 2000 gamers era. "Rat's nest" cable management was kind of a norm. We just leave it a mess hidden in the back compartment as long as it doesn't affect the PC case airflow.
Also, cable managment isn't a big a deal when all the heat sources are water cooled so airflow is lower on the priority list to make way for higher spec components
Not so much anymore, but when you had all those drives to plug in and upgrade over the years it made it a huge pain to have a system cable managed in the back. You have to undo the whole thing to plug in a sata drive. That's why I avoid zip ties when I can.
I've been buying used parts for years and never had any major problems. It's important to sus out the sellers, do some small talk etc. for a vibe check. With experience it's pretty easy to gauge when someone is trying to rip you off. Either way, with the amount you can save on things like GPU used, you could buy 2 and still spend less than buying it new. I scored a brand new EVGA 3070 while back for $270
Good practice is go new on motherboard, PSU, and storage as those are where most failures happen. Used CPU, GPU, RAM as long as there's no physical damage and the seller isn't blatantly trying to rip you off they'll be fine 99/100.
Cable management is the best part of building a PC IMO. I’m always challenging myself to do better than the last build. I’ve built over 1000 systems at this point, so it is getting harder and harder to improve haha
I honestly started to appreciate those twisty wires with rubber cover much more than zip-ties over the years. They hold tight and you don't have to cut them every time you want to change something in cable management.
I always cable manage this way (for customers), the cables that are most likely gonna need replacement are in the front whereas the cables that are least likely going to need replacement are in the back, that way every build looks clean and isn't too much of a hassle if in need of servicing
@@ronaldmcdonaldssoul I agree with Marius. First of all, these dual chamber cases are incredibly big, over 60L at least! Besides, whenever you need to change a cable or part it is much easier to find with proper cable management. And the last thing is that loose cables can be quite dangerous, if it gets into a fan or touches loose or conductive parts it can become a much bigger problem!
Proper cable management is a must for any type of electronic equipment, not just computers. I can’t stand my TV cables looking all messy and like s*** when it comes time to move or get rid of certain devices. But yeah, gaming PCs especially everywhere inside and outside the case. 💯
Literally just finished building my partner a rig sat down and seen this as the second short…I 1000% agree cable management is the bane of my existence as I am a perfectionist
Little tip before you use a bunch of zip ties use twist ties. Use the twist ties to set where you want your cables to go, then follow behind with the zip ties to secure them where you want.
It's all the damn cables coming from the case that makes it so challenging to organize your cables on the backside. I wish motherboard makers would give us access to these I/O's through a simple header..
Good to see the original video. I saw one with a dude plastering his face over the video and just saying random words every so often just to make noise
He needs to acknowledge the Antec P120 its absolutely perfect for budget ballers. Dual chamber case that I got on sale for $80? It's super clean and sturdy as well
ALL cases should be dual chambered. MAN it's annoying trying to cram all of those cables in that tiny, centimeter space between the side of the case and the panel.
In 2021 I used RUclips and google to teach myself how to build a computer. Then sourced and built everything myself. It was an incredible experience but I will be happy to leave it to professionals moving forward. My cable management was horrendous lol.
And this is one of the reason why i still use closed case over windowed one. In closed case, as long it doesn't interefere with the airflow, it doesn't matter if the cable management is not perfect, nobody is gonna know
Problem is that most of the newer cases now has either glass or see-through back panel. Especially those cases that supports BTF/Project Zero. All cables goes on the back, covered by an see-through mesh panel.
My nzxt h6 flow is the goat in overall cable management. Thanks to engineers of NZXT, all cables are managed perfectly, factory zip ties help you to get rid of cables in front absolutely
Hey Even though you ain't going to read this, I'm still thanking you because you've and your community through discord have helped me quite a bit with deciding on what I want to do with my PC because you've helped with a case and the graphics card I'm going for. my first pc build in 2012... it was IMPOSSIBLE to cable manage in the case i bought. It did not have a power supply chamber, and it also did not have enough space in the back to shove all the extra cables. so you HAD to rat nest it. There was no other option unless you bought a modular PSU

I just got one of those new project-zero cases with a motherboard that has all the connections on the back so the wires are out of sight completely. Really looking forward to that build.
first time i assembeled my first self built pc (worked first try on first boot) i could barely fit the back pannel on the chase due to the horrible way i routed the cables in the back, front was nice though ( the builds you featured with the gpu cables going down infront of the cards look crappy to be honest for that reason). Now a year later i installed a soundcard and had to install and route another cable through the chase, and when i already was at it, i did reroute the other cables aswell so that they would not push out the back plate that much, was a good ammount of effort but payed off good as the back plate fit on easier. Now went in again to install a whole new ram kit and repaste the cpu cooler as i had to take that off aswell, additionally trying to reroute the last interfering cables to fit better and the thing i really learned from this: good cable management comes with time and can never be perfect, the more you group and zip them up the harder it will be on a upgrade.
well the trick is to put the pc together doing "okay" cable management job the first time, then after everything is working.. just continue using your pc for a while.. and then some time later.. like a week or a month.. you're not overwhelmed by the pc build itself and then do the proper cable management and you can enjoy the process a lot.
If manufacturers would supply cables that are long enough to allow for clean management, that would be great. I don't want to buy expensive replacement cables or extension cables after already shelling out a pretty penny on these parts.
personally i like sorting out my cable management so it doesn't become a pain in the near future because those dual chamber cases are on the massive side so that's another personal issue.
This was one of my favorite parts. When i built street cars, doing wire tucks was suuuuch an awesome look. Some motors we did, looked like they didnt even run lol cool to apply this to PCs
