Revo Uninstaller - Uninstall Things That Won’t

- 👍 Revo Uninstaller is a useful utility to remove things from your computer that won't otherwise uninstall or uninstall completely.
👍 Revo Uninstaller
Revo Uninstaller, available in free and paid versions, is a solution for incomplete or failed uninstalls. It goes beyond standard uninstalls by scanning for leftover files and registry entries. It can also uninstall Windows built-in apps. I recommend it when dealing with any uninstallation problems.

Sometimes, you just need a bigger hammer.
i use revo for a long time now, and it not only installs your own programs but also windows things, great app, cheers Leo
Brilliant metaphor
Same Here!
Ah yes, the step just before you "take off and nuke the entire site from orbit"
Just wipe the hard drive and install something like LINUX Mint CINNAMON (Una) 20.3 64bit edition as there is less LINUX Malware.
I've been using this for years also, ... not too long ago a friend of mine kept seeing pop ups and reminders from McAfee on his new laptop. He had used the MacAfee uninstall when he first used the laptop to put his preferred antivirus. Used Revo, and it was finally TOTALLY uninstalled and had no traces of it after that. Revo works great.
One of the first apps I put on my computers. Used it for years - brilliant software ! 👍👍
Been using the Pro Version of Revo for years and its great to remove all traces of uninstalled programs and Microsoft apps that don't allow you to uninstall them
Someone said that this app can delete Windows Defender, is it true, cause I REALLY need to get rid of this thing.
Been using Revo for years - it finds all registry entries etc. Windows uninstall leaves tons of crap on your system. By the PRO guys - they deserve it. 👍👍👍
Been using it for years. I like to install with their install tracker if I’m unsure about a program, as it logs everything installed so everything gets removed. Regular uninstall leaves stuff behind. I also use the startup manager a lot. I know I can use task manger, but Revo more convenient.
I Have used Revo Uninstaller for years and it's NEVER let me down. It's BRILLIANT.
True
This is terrific. I've been using it for a couple of years. It's amazing what apps leave behind when they are removed. I've always used REVO to remove these files and have NEVER experienced a problem.
Got to also remember to update your backup or you may find the damn program "appears out of nowhere" again if you ever do a recover! Now we need a registry cleaner that actually works!
100% agree to use Revo. I have done it for over 10 years. I use image backup as you suggest, but I have never seen the program to fail. I use the agressiv way (advanced) every time i uninstall programs. No problems in that so far. Revo is the first program i put on a pc afer a fresh install. Use it to clean up the programs from Windows I don't want. Happy new year to you all :-)
Someone said that this app can delete Windows Defender, is it true, cause I REALLY need to get rid of this thing.
No Revo don't have that tool to remove Defender. But Chris Titus tool "one Tool for everything" can maybe do it. Check video about his tool that can do a lot.@@vovazagach1781
I too have been using Revo for many years. If I'm not mistaken I found a youtube video of Leo's years ago that talked about Revo and explained how to use it. I was impressed with his explanation so I downloaded Revo and it did a great job of getting rid of a program that I couldn't get to uninstall. I've been using it since. I use the advanced mode and it has never caused a problem. I install it on every computer I have and have always installed it on any builds or reinstalls on any computer I work on. It's so easy to use that even those who are computer illiterate can use it with confidence.
I thank you Leo for the original video as well as this one. Great information originally and a great refresher this time. BTW, I have it on my win 10 computers as well and it works just as good as it did on my previous versions of Windows. I still use Win 7 of a couple of my older computers.
Take care Leo and be well.
There may be a program that you want to uninstall and you will be prompted to restart your computer to complete the uninstall, in that case I bypass it and continue with the uninstall process and I myself use the advanced uninstall.
your video made me really think back to try and remember how long i've been using revo, i wanna say since win 98 but that seems like a long time ago, i know i can say i haven't had a computer that didn't have revo in the last 20 years, it's one of the first programs i install on every new build whether it's my machine or a customers.
Brilliant, helpful and illuminating technique. Thank you, Leo after 23 years of using Windows I have learnt about Revo Uninstaller- it is never too late.
A classic. Just bought the Pro version to support them. Thanks Leo!
What benefits have you found with the pro version
I have a DAW that was not working correctly with my audio interface after an update to the DAW. I uninstalled the DAW using the normal windows process and reinstalled the DAW. But no luck. Then I see your video and uninstall the DAW and its "hidden" files using Revo. And after installing the DAW once more, everything works! Thank you Leo! This is not the first time your great videos have helped me!
Thanks for adding actual captions for the Deaf - good clear instructions on screen as well.
Another good video Leo. Just for info, I generally reimage from a backup prior to installing "test" software, rarther thasnuninstalling the software, becasue , like you said there are registry keys etc left behind. However I did try the freeware that Revo offered and it works well. I followed your video and its all good. I removed VLC and a thing called Aimersoft (DVD ripping software) and their respective "leftovers" . It appears to have done the job well. Donald. Scotland. UK.
Leo, you are the king of knowledge. Thank you for this.
Agreed. Have been using Revo for many years because it just works.
Thank you mr. Lucas, very helpful tool. Loved your movies but never thought that you will help me with uninstalling apps!
Been using it for quite a while now. I initially had to use the paid version to delete (used hunter mode) to remove a problem program. I can't remember what it was now. Anyway, I still have that "older" paid version installed and still use it. I'm just not updating to the latest version. But it still works fine and is a great program. I may pay for the newer version just to support them. I think that's always a good idea when you have freeware that is particularly useful to you.
Thanks Leo ..installed Revo ...it's now my go-to .
I have been using it for years and I always go for the advanced scan without any issues.
like, uh, wow leo,
you've been an idol of mine for a very long time now
and there you go again. i wasn't even looking for this;
but i messed up an uninstall of xampp really bad
i mean, i botched it up like you wouldn't believe
to the point where i was gong to reinstall my o.s.
(by trying to rename it so i could install another version of php)
so now i can't wait to try revo uninstaller. thanks leo
Leo's a smart and articulate man. I appreciate his content. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree!
Revo Pro is worth the price. Its an excellent tool that assists with troubleshooting and housecleaning. The free version is a one trick pony, Pro does more.
Thanks ... I needed that!
Very Good information THANK YOU
Thank you Leo!
I had never realised I could 'select all' for the registry leftovers. After all it ticks everything, even My Computer! I've always manually ticked bolded items myself, sometimes taking quite some. A revelation for me, thanks Leo.
I used to do this myself as a precaution and to make sure only the affected spots were deleted, but evidently there is no need because he recognizes them on his own. In various videos I have always seen that people click on “select all”.
I've also been using it for many years, and was under the impression you checked of the bold entries only in the free version. I think those were the the instructions when i got it many years ago.
Well I've just uninstalled MediaMonkey I think it was it had loads of reg leftovers so used select all with no negative effects that I've noticed. This is the free version.
I've used Revo Uninstaller for years! It just hasn't ever failed me!
I've used this for years. It has helped me Test some questionable softs and was able to track them from install to uninstall..
Marvelous stuff for those who push the envelope on system destruction.
Thank you brilliant. like the way you explain how to do things.
Great software! Like other commentators here, I've been using Revo from almost day one of its release .
Works as expected, love this tool. Nice tutorial, explained well along with a good explanation & to the point, thanks.
Never knew this was a thing 😮. Very informative video😊
Wow, great video! Thanks! Revo does more than the Uninstall Tool I purchased back in 2021, it won't delete Windows apps but does everything else Revo does. I just downloaded the Free version including the Free Portable version. Gonna uninstall some Windows apps including all the Xbox apps 'cuz I'll never use them.
Thank you so much, was trying to uninstall opera GX, the opera uninstaller wouldn't let me and this helped alot
Thank you very much
I have used Revo for years it's the first program I install after a clean system install, it is perfect for debloating Windows 11
Resolved an AWCC issue I had, superb tool.
Great software been using it for years, never let me down !
I had no idea that selecting all was safe, Ive always just picked the highlighted ones out. Good to know now that I have a new build, already have Revo Pro ready to go
Excelente... Gracias!
More valuable, to me, info. Thanks Leo. JimE
Thank you so much it help me, after many times it did not to uninstall
I've been using Revo Uninstaller for years. This year I got the Pro version as it was on sale. Otherwise, as you said, I would use the free one.
In the registry part only delete the highlighted ones. That’s very important. Also sometimes some other registry keys will show up that don’t have to do with the program you’re deleting.
Thank you so much
I've been using Revo for years! It is by far the best! It doesn't fail!
This helped a lot :)
I use Hibit uninstaller which is free and seems just fine.
What you think about Iobit uninstaller? I've been using it for years. Could you make a comparison video please?
Thank you
Excellent Software . Can't live without Revo Uninstaller.
Thanks
The Pro version. still does not remove all associated Reg keys. Keys still remain .I have found this is so, over many years.
the force remove rements of unstalled programs is locked behind that paywall great idea just to have that
I use Iobit uninstaller and, it does everything Revo does but, you can select multiple programs & windows apps at the same time & remove them all instead of having to do each one individually.
Been using this for years. Best uninstaller around
Sounds like just the thing to get rid of Norton Products
been using revo uninstaller for years now...
So what? Would you like a cookie?
@@uncletrick1lmao
have the portable version here but dont use it much dont install much on here but good app to have
Been using it for 10 years, with no problems.
Thanks blud i love you
Great video, but you use to mush time to Install instead of Uninstall ;) How can I remove left overs from applications I deleted some time ago?
As others already said. It´s on of the first programs on my computer. Revo Uninstaller is worth every penny krona dollar or whatever currency you have. It will make your life easier with computers or if I will be specific, to remove ALL that remains from a standard uninstall witch will save space and speed of the computer. To keep the computer cleen are the best thing to restore speed to originals best possible. Best regards from Sweden
Great job. Does in the end speed up your computer, and does it also work on iPads?
Speeding up depends on what you're removing. It's Windows only.
Thank you. Very informative, and you made it simple.
I was wanting to get rid of edge, uninstalling was a big mistake, there are too many other windows features that work of it. I have files on paid version of one drive, and you cannot post to your website unless you have Edge. I know, weird but true!
this is an awesome program
Do you have a video on what Windows Bloatware can be deleted without screwing up your system?
Will this work to remove Co-pilot and Windows backup, and work on windows 10 Home? Keep getting prompted to log into MS account and getting sick about it.
you discuss uninstalling from the starting point of a functional application. revo has an option to search for remnants and leftovers that remain after other uninstalls. What is the value of hunting for the remnants? is it worth buying the pro version?
Depends on how often you run into situation where it matters. I've rarely had a case myself where remnants caused any problems, but I do occasionally hear from people who have.
I have just started using this and it appears to work great. My question is, I have previously uninstalled programs using the uninstall. How do I clean up my registry from these uninstalls or is it probably not worth worrying about?
Unless you're experiencing an issue related to them, they're generally not worth the effort.
@@askleonotenboom Thank you.
I accidentally installed adware when I was downloading something but I uninstalled them through windows before I found out about revo now I just want to know is there a way to check if there was anything left over by the adware without installing and uninstalling them again ?
what do you recommend on restarting the computer. they say don't shut down but restart. i have windows 11 but could not alter the settings. help. lol
With browser Edge the last one working good for unistaller is geek unistaller
How does this compare with IObit Uninstaller?
Useful, Being able to delete Edge would be impressive
Sadly, no. More here: askleo.com/how-do-i-get-rid-of-edge-in-windows-11/
@@askleonotenboom I read will be able to uninstall edge in the EU in March. Maybe from US with VPN? Tried to post the article but you tube would not allow it
I use Revo Portable as I have my work and home computers
Please consider doing a review/comparison of jv16 Power Tools. Thanks.
I've not yet played with their uninstaller product, but the base toolset seems reasonable. I've been watching it for years. It's one of only two registry cleaners I feel safe recommending. (CCleaner being the other.) Normally you don't need one, but in cases where you do.
This is odd. I just uninstalled Revo today. Was watching a video by Carey Holzman and he said Revo was not good to have on your computer. I'm a bit confused on this.
I use the pro for years and follow up with free iobit uninstaller that Revo leaves behind. I like the pro extended search.
Before installing an application, is there any utility (Revo Uninstaller, Total Uninstall, Install Watch Pro), that can just output a summary of the changes before and after the install?
i.e. a list of the Registry changes, Files Replaced, Files Added (X Megabytes).. including hidden files and those with Alternate NTFS Data Streams (ADS)?
It's been a while, but I *think* Revo does, Might be worth experimenting to find out.
it doesn't 100% clean the registry , but it does wipe out most of the unwanted hidden files, but it is still a great uninstaller program !!
By clicking select all is there ever a danger of deleting files that are used also with other programs
There's always a danger. That's why I suggest an image backup first. However, problems seem to be very rare, so I generally go for it.
Leo, I have or rather had Norton as a promo when I installed a new motherboard and decided great I would try it. Now it's expired and I have an account for McAfee. Yet after uninstalling Norton using their uninstaller there are still remnants example a pop up asking me to reinstall Norton and I couldn't find anything using REVO uninstaller which I use time to time. Am I looking in the wrong places. P.s. it's on at least one other computer and loads after log-in. I enabled Hunter Mode hoping to locate this pesky pest
I can’t imagine how much clutter there is on my computer registry. I used ccleaner years ago. Now I hear there may be a problem with it. Do you have a suggestion on an alternative to ccleaner? Also, since over the years I’ve uninstalled multiple programs, including Mcafee, would Revo find the clutter and wipe it out? Thank you. 0:06
CCleaner's fine as long as you choose custom install, and pay very close attention to anything that's offered. JV16 PowerTools is another. I DON'T recommend using any registry cleaners, though. There's rarely any significant improvement, and the risk is just too high.
If I had a program on my computer that only would work for a fixed amount of time and deleted it using it's own uninstaller, some stuff remains in the registry that prevents a new install of the same program as I already used it for its try period. Would Revo delete all these traces, so I can install it over and over again? Or does the provider of these programs remember my computer MAC address or other data so a second download or install would still fail?
It depends entirely on the specific program, they use different techniques. Some might work, others might not.
what makes it different from other uninstallers...
Hi, I've already uninstall alot of bloat from Asus and Corsair via the Windows uninstaller before purchasing Revo Pro. Do I need to reinstall the rubbish and then use Revo or is their away of Revo finding the leftovers?
I wouldn't bother reinstalling. I believe Revo can hunt for stuff. However I'm also not sure it's worth it at that point.
@askleonotenboom ok thankyou for your reply
Can Revo Uninstaller remove OneDrive from Windows 10?
Some programs have a trial period. After the period is expired, (and the app deleted), starting another trial period is prohibited. Something remains on my computer. Does Revo remove this?
You mean the flag that says trial period exhausted? I would think so, actually, though it'll depend on the technique used by the program. Certainly worth a try.
How do I remove programs that weren't part of the same instance of Windows but left from a previous instance of Windows? I want to remove them cleanly. Is that available in the free version?
Should be, but it kind of depends on what you mean by previous instance. If you upgraded on top, then yes. If it's some kind of side-by-side install, then probably not.
i use Your Uninstaller, even though it's discontinued.
ive used Revo for years does what it says .
it basically fooks off all antivirus crap software and windowsbloat ware apps clean all traces just click yes & yes never a problem
windows can be a bastid with update bluescreens august 2023 had blue screen every day or 3 for months they fooked my motherboard 4 ram slots now 1 works
I used it last year to uninstall MS edge and it worked great. Then after a month and I didn't buy the pro version I noticed that edge was back on my computer. So I tried to uninstall it again and it refused to work. So I uninstalled Revo. Maybe MS locked it out, don't know but I could no longer uninstall edge after that. Yeah, great program.
some sensible person eventually!
the free version is bugged for me, it crashes any time i try to load the windows apps. I downloaded the pro version 30 day trial and it works fine.
