(Prior)...to removing the spark plugs I take air compressor hose blow compressed air into the spark plug housing that way it will prevent any and all dirt particles falling Into the spark plug chamber, then and only then I processed to remove one at a time the spark plugs.
Thanks for taking time to make this video. I wonder why Volvo put so many bolts on the plastic cover; to keep children out? I've never heard of using anti-seize on spark plugs...what have I been missing? lol It would last longer if you use high temp. anti-seize; it's copper color instead of silver. The silver stuff will likely melt/burn off. Either type is messy stuff though!
Did you get those NGK plugs? Lots of guys run coppers and seem to swear by them, only that you need to swap them out every year or so... How did those NGK iridium plugs work out?
What is the hose that runs over the top of the engine you have to remove for? Is it part of the Turbo? And could not putting it back properly cause an issue with the cars performance?
It's best to use dielectric grease.. dielectric grease is silicone based... It helps seal electrical circuits.. Do not apply directly to electrical component..
Easy to make faster/ remove map sensor (manifold air pressure) google it/ tape it up/block hole/fit manual boost controller demon tweeks £20 and set at 15 seconds past 12 o clock and watch it fly with maxed out 17psi from the td04 16T and use Tesco momentum 99 or cosco 99 octane enjoy but watch the speeding its like having a new engine from a v12 and use denso racing plugs worlds smallest tip and one step colder
He put anti-seize(copper based) down on the metal threads of the spark plugs. It is not necessary to do this with modern plugs/volvo plugs. Won't do any particular harm though. He put dielectric grease inside the boot with a q tip.
Very helpful and straight forward. Nice touch putting the instruction in a little box at the top left.
You saved me a lot of money with this video sir.. I even hit the subscribe button lol great video my guy 👍🏽👍🏽

well done, thank you!
Thanks!
28mm gap is recommended but how do you know what the gap is out of the package with out a gapper tool?
OEM Volvo plugs are pre-gapped
nice work man, i buy this car today and need to do this job!! im thinking of buy a ngk iridium plugs for this car

Bosch copper plugs fire hotter and made my older Volvo run better than NGK platinum plugs.
What could it be if reduced engine performance mean? It catches speed but when I stop it takes 3mins to catch up to speed

If you mean the giant pipe, it's the charge air pipe. Probably would cause issues if you wouldnt put it on properly though not sure.
Hey, I was thinking of getting one of these cars, are they reliable? The one I'm looking at is a 2004 s60 2.5t awd
Parkin'Spot
did your purchase the vehicle, and if so has it been reliable and has it come up with any issue and what was the resolution to the repair.
Yes, they are. I realized your question is back long time ago. However they are so reliable that you might be consider for your next car too.
Trying to replace the #5 coil in my 08 volvo s40 but the coil seems like its stuck in there any suggestions?
The only thing I can suggest is to twist it slightly from side to side. Other than that use a pair of channel locks for more leverage....
@@DiyProJames I got it out thanks again man 👍
@@darrenhaverlock7025 You're welcome.
Great video. Is silicone based grease fine to use on ignition coils? I got some german brake cylinder grease :D

Do you have a video for the 2014 and above V60 2.5L T5 engine?
sorry no i don't
Which cylinders are which bro is it one from left to right
It should be 1 to 5, but the firing order is different.

What's is the product that you put in the sparks?
