This bowl is made out of 510 segments of maple and sipo wood. It is: 1m large (40 inch) 35cm deep (14 inch) Weighs 21,4 kg (47 pounds) Finished with 4 coats of acrilic varnish And it took 69 hours to make
Bravo pour le bol x) Petite question, est-ce que tu sais si le sipo est toxique ? Peut-on vraiment l'utiliser sans risque pour des bols / assiettes / planches à découper .. ? Merci d'avance et bonne continuation :) !
Do you, or have you every considered selling plans for some of these projects? It would sure help those of us mathematically challenged ! LOL would love to try my hand at some of these, but after Harley crash I have trouble with figures and short term memory.
Oliver, as if your turning art wasn't enough to be amazing, the filming and editing of your videos is cinematic. The placement of the cameras is magnificent. Very, very pleasant to see.
Even though I watched from the beginning to the end, I was stunned to realize that the inside and outside patterns were different. Amazing amount of planning and creativity!
That is the coolest and the biggest wood turning project I’ve ever witnessed! You sir have blown my mind, and I was born in 1958, so that was no small feat! Gorgeous!
After a yr of binge watching these wood turning videos I have yet NOT to be impressed surprised and amazed at the talent and gift Oliver has. Everyone of his creations is just stunning and beautiful.
Olivier, I'm confident you have been told many times, you are a superb craftsman and brilliant artist. It's refreshing to see someone who just doesn't place a dead cow or sit in a whole in the ground claiming it to be art. You are a true artist.
DUUUUUUUUUDE this is seriously the most impressive thing I’ve EVER seen been made, thank you soooo much for sharing, you sir are a master craftsmen, well done Sir
Olivier, j'adore test talents. Chappeau!
Wow, just Wow! You won the Internet this week for sure. Best thing I’ve seen on RUclips this week. The editing was fantastic and the bowl, well I’m just speechless.
Now that's a breakfast bowl!!! LOL Really impressed by the interior flower pattern that does not show on the outside! Amazing and great idea... just WOW moment for me.... aside from the beginning, "how big is this thing going to get! He keeps adding more layers!"
I'm impressed.. I like watching wood turning and it's hard to find actual wood Turner's on RUclips most of what I find is basically resin turning so good job I subscribed
When you started, I thought if resined, that would make a fantastic sink - change to Bath 😁 Breathtaking work, enjoyable video, thank you for sharing 😉
Ha!! While you were working, I was thinking, "That's a LOT of popcorn, Olivier." But I see now that it was for your breakfast cereal, so I am revising my statement to say, "That's a LOT of Cheerios, Olivier." Seriously, though -- HOLY BOWLS, BATMAN. Spectacular work, sir. You never fail to impress me with your inventiveness, planning, and skill... and your sense of humor.
Honestly amazing. I had to watch the beginning 3 times before I figured out how you got the different patterns on inside and outside... Although watching when tired might have contributed to that time:D That must have taken a significant amount of planning, even if your experience allowed you to skip a bit. Fantastic job, hypnotizing video:D
The most impressive thing to me was, how much experience he has for such young age. This type of woodwork, takes many years to master. Plus I loved the clock he had made for his shop.
It's an attractive mix of woods & the pattern is oddly compelling. It looks sturdy enough to use as a coracle for messing about on the river or a replacement for the recently collapsed Arecibo Radio Telescope or the ultimate in imperial-sized cat beds though she may need a set of matching steps to get in and out.
Damn dude that thing is awesome off-the-charts your skill level is Way Beyond the rest of them. just really love watching you work and see how much time you put into the patterns and then to let us watch you work it out just a real blessing
Holy cow! Just when I thought he couldn't make it any larger, he kept adding more pieces to it. Amazing! And that is a heckuvva-lot of mass to have spinning that fast. Incredibly skillful work, but also quite dangerous. Fascinating to watch.
Amazing job getting different design on inside and outside. First time I've seen that. The planning boggles my mind, even though I'm really good with spatial and visual things.
Greetings Olivier from Panama City, I never thought that a lathe would work with such a magnitude of weight, but what is interesting is the mastery of the piece in the center, the creativity of all your videos really inspires me a lot, a pleasure bye.
This could be a commercial for the Stratos XL lathe. Gomis knows how to use his tools to their very limits. This man keeps surprising me with more and more unusual projects.😎
Turning is so much fun. My few amateur projects from high-school were a blast, I know given the opportunity I'd fall in love with woodworking all over again.
That bowl is magnificent. Very well done. You combine marvelous creativity with superior technical skills. Not to mention a sense of humor at the end!!!
I have a few things to say: 1th - I have never seen a turned bowl that size, dayum 2th - The pattern was well thought out 3th - This is the first time I have seen the actual machine being adjustable in position and angle. My limited viewing experience is fixed rotational machinery, with adjustable guides. 4th - Telling people where to skip to, to see the turning encourages people to skip the setup, actually making the rings that, combined, makes the blanks. This, I think is a disservice, because that was interesting too. 5th - Subscribed.
Wow!! Absolutely fabulous! It's definitely a work of art. Showing off your precision & skill to accomplish such a magnificent piece. I love it. Keep killin' it man! Take care & God Bless!!! Truly a "Jethro" bowl!! LOL!!

I was the same, I didn't realize until the end the patterns were different.
Yeah, he's really good at this.
I watch a great deal of woodturning. This artist is so ingenious, creative, with a sense of whimsy and humor. Wonderful channel
Me too I just can't get enough of these wood turning videos. Olivier is very talented.
That is the coolest and the biggest wood turning project I’ve ever witnessed! You sir have blown my mind, and I was born in 1958, so that was no small feat! Gorgeous!

Je ne savais même pas qu'on pouvait tourner un truc aussi gros ! C'est impressionnant ! 👏😊
DUUUUUUUUUDE this is seriously the most impressive thing I’ve EVER seen been made, thank you soooo much for sharing, you sir are a master craftsmen, well done Sir
So this is the fabled superbowl 🤔
You win the best comment award.
😂🤣
Just think how much guacamole that thing could hold for the "ultimate" Super Bowl Party!
Thank you for the laugh and I am still smiling.
Jerry Jones should buy this from him so the cowboys can have just one more.
Wow. The prep and glue up alone deserve a medal.
I know right I would've been done glueing and shaping at 50 peices ... but over 500 forget about it🙂😁
Impressionnant !!! Un peu encombrant pour la fête des mères ;) A moins que ce soit une baignoire pour un nouveau né...
Chapeau bas l'Artiste !
You are an incredible artist, young man! Keep up the good work.
FINALLY!!
Someone turning a bowl that was big enough to call HUGE.
Maybe even humongus.
I'm smiling here.

Wow, just Wow! You won the Internet this week for sure. Best thing I’ve seen on RUclips this week. The editing was fantastic and the bowl, well I’m just speechless.
What a Masterpiece, so creative not just a bowl but outstanding art.
That is the most amazing piece of turning I have seen, not only the impressive size but different interior and exterior patterns. Well done
Superbe travail, beaucoup de maitrise et de lucidité dans la réalisation l'humour en plus.... 👍👍👍👍👍
That's not a bowl, it's a bath tub!! Incredible piece. Beautifully done. Really enjoyed watching this one come to life.
That's next
I like that you aren’t afraid to do really ambitious projects.
Now that's a breakfast bowl!!! LOL Really impressed by the interior flower pattern that does not show on the outside! Amazing and great idea... just WOW moment for me.... aside from the beginning, "how big is this thing going to get! He keeps adding more layers!"
Holly crap!!!! That thing is huge!!! Beautiful and HUGE!!!!
Ce bol est géant, et pas que par sa taille ! Tu as beaucoup de talent, très beau boulot, bravo !
This was really a masterpiece..you should get an award for this if there is any.
Maybe some sort of super bowl trophy...
Bravo olvier
Tres Belle pièce 👌👍
Absolutely Super Youngman.
God Bless You.
From Dublin.Ireland.

This young man is so talented. I can't wait to see his future projects 5 - 10 years from now when he gains more experience
Props for giving the timestamp to the turning. I watched the first bit, but still appreciate the heads up from the start.
And there was I, so proud of my first six inch diameter bowl 🌞. You are so patient and talented, Olivier
Well, watching this... made me happy! 😎👍 Well done and great result! Have a good time and stay healthy!
I'm impressed..
I like watching wood turning and it's hard to find actual wood Turner's on RUclips most of what I find is basically resin turning so good job I subscribed
Great work, Olivier. And the best demonstration on the net of the capacities of the Stratos XL Thanks!
You must be so proud of yourself.
That is a work of art. I love it.
Amazing job 👍
WOW! I have to say... This video is so amazing that it really bowled me over!
When you started, I thought if resined, that would make a fantastic sink - change to Bath 😁
Breathtaking work, enjoyable video, thank you for sharing 😉
This guy is the best, end of discussion…😊👍

Wow! Spectacular bowl. I thought it would be a Saturday night bath tub.
Lots of work, and you do it so well.
Thanks for the video
Beautiful bowl
Travail grandiose de maitre .BRAVO !
You're a funny artistic genius !! Love your bowl!
Honestly amazing. I had to watch the beginning 3 times before I figured out how you got the different patterns on inside and outside... Although watching when tired might have contributed to that time:D
That must have taken a significant amount of planning, even if your experience allowed you to skip a bit.
Fantastic job, hypnotizing video:D
That's an incredible advert for your lathe. The torque involved spinning that behemoth.
Was it a commission?
Quite lovely! Loved watching the process!
Je crois que ce mec est le tourneur le plus inventif de youtube !
Wow that is some talent. You are a master wood worker. Great job, loved to watch this
Literally speechless ... really beautiful ... you are really good ... 👏👏👏 seriously... congratulations ... 🎩🎩🎩
I love watching these videos. Super!
Bravo! I cracked up at the end when you started eating cereal out of it. I don't know what I need it for but I want it anyways!
Wakhwakhwakhwakhwakh
You continue to impress, and having the design only show on the inside was a particularly nice touch.
The most impressive thing to me was, how much experience he has for such young age. This type of woodwork, takes many years to master.
Plus I loved the clock he had made for his shop.
It can be said that it is GREAT👏👏👏👏👏👏
The words to come out only in WOW🤩 and BEAUTIFUL😍😍😍
Love the camera view from the turning tool. Nice touch!
Bravo mon gars, je suis extrêmement fier de toi et je m'incline humblement face à un tel savoir faire.
“We’re gonna need a bigger spoon...” (And more breakfast cereals) 🤣
And a bigger appetite.
Naaaa! Just eat ya cocoa flakes when bathing in the milk, 2 jobs done in one
*King Bach appears*
A bowl? That's a bath!! Love it, great work.
This is incredible, you are incredible!
Exactly the size bowl of salad you need to eat to feel truly full. Great work in all seriousness!
What would I do with such a bowl...? Maybe go river rafting...? 😁
Fantastic project, as always! 👍
Супер 👍!! Очень здорово выглядит!!!
да, осталось только выяснить зачем? и главное на@уя?
It's an attractive mix of woods & the pattern is oddly compelling. Real Artist Youn Man!
What a fine (and big) piece of art! I like your video-style. Great job! Best regards from Austria!
Some serious math skills here! Geometry, Solid Geometry, Calculus and serious fractions!! Kudos to your ability!!!
Everyone: "So what do you put in it?"
Oliver: "Everything...."
😂😂😂
Now all you need is a castle with lots of big rooms. Great Work.
My that's a huge bowl! Amazing job getting all the design elements lined up. Kyle Toth better look out, there is another big bowl turner in the house!
Amazing job getting different design on inside and outside. First time I've seen that. The planning boggles my mind, even though I'm really good with spatial and visual things.
Beautiful work! The box of cereal at the end was perfect! No choice but to share with everyone I know, now! Fabulous!
12:31 I like this part so much 😂
when are you going to make a comically large spoon?
Greetings Olivier from Panama City, I never thought that a lathe would work with such a magnitude of weight, but what is interesting is the mastery of the piece in the center, the creativity of all your videos really inspires me a lot, a pleasure bye.
Terrific giant bowl! I never did segmented turning, and logs rarely get that big where I come from. Hope to get the opportunity some day!
This could be a commercial for the Stratos XL lathe. Gomis knows how to use his tools to their very limits. This man keeps surprising me with more and more unusual projects.😎
This is why this is a 6000 Euro lathe.
That low angle super slowmow at 6:25 was amazing!
I thought it was a prelude to something awful about to happen.
Un Bonjour de la Belgique je suis stupéfaits de voire votre réalisation une grande maitrise
un travail exceptionnel bonne continuation super 🤷♂
The eating cerial from it was just perfect ending :D shame you never had a massive spoon to eat it with
Someone call king bash
Hello from California. I would give my right arm for your talent! Amazing!
Came here for the woodturning, stayed for the editing.
Turning is so much fun. My few amateur projects from high-school were a blast, I know given the opportunity I'd fall in love with woodworking all over again.
Finally I learned how the medium sized bowls at pho restaurants are made
This is called craftsmanship!!! Wow, it's beautiful!
What a talented person you are your bowl is amazing love it
That bowl is magnificent. Very well done. You combine marvelous creativity with superior technical skills. Not to mention a sense of humor at the end!!!
I have a few things to say:
1th - I have never seen a turned bowl that size, dayum
2th - The pattern was well thought out
3th - This is the first time I have seen the actual machine being adjustable in position and angle. My limited viewing experience is fixed rotational machinery, with adjustable guides.
4th - Telling people where to skip to, to see the turning encourages people to skip the setup, actually making the rings that, combined, makes the blanks. This, I think is a disservice, because that was interesting too.
5th - Subscribed.
dude at this point you are litterly my idol!
Finally, a bowl big enough for ramen.
The timestamp is amazing. Thank you so
Much! And this is so cool!
I've never seen more layers added in between turning. Very interesting.
such a feeling of ABUNDANCE
that large bowl is so visually pleasing
I would put it right in the middle of my house
Very beautiful! Have you tried to see how many boxes of cake it takes to fill that bowl?
Wow!! Absolutely fabulous! It's definitely a work of art. Showing off your precision & skill to accomplish such a magnificent piece. I love it. Keep killin' it man! Take care & God Bless!!!
Truly a "Jethro" bowl!! LOL!!
10:19 You know it's a big job when you've got to look above your eyeline to see how the profile is coming along!
Un seul mot, MAGNIFIQUE!
ESPETACULAR!!!!!!
I have recently joined your channel and have found it mesmerising and inspirational. Thanks for brightening our lockdown days. Mike from Australia.
