Wait... (as i'm watching) A YEAR LATER!? You produced a video with footage from the previouse YEAR! Wow . impressive. Subbed.
How in the world do you only have 179k subscribers? Your techniques are at least equal, if not superior to, so many other channels. The "improvised" tools you use in each video are certainly professionally made ( steadyrest, hollowing rig) ... nevermind the "inside the vessel while turning" shot! I do not think I've seen that anywhere else. Fantastic work!
He is a true master of his craft
Anyone know where he got his training/education?
I was thinking the same thing.
Wow you are very talented. The jig master I’m humbled.
Wow. Everything you do is so original. 🇺🇸👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
it's stunning what you come up with and your ability to execute your ideas
Such craftsmanship!
I hope the market pays handsomely!!
I always thought you were good. Now, I know you are amazing!
When I saw 100+ stitches I thought, "oh my god he must have sliced himself open!" Beautiful piece, Olivier.
Now that's what I thought too !!!!
Me too. Kept waiting for the carnage. Is that bad?
You are my mechanics of woodturning. I was never disappointed with your videos.
Very nice work. Plus, a whole lot of patience waiting for a year to let it dry. Thanks for sharing.
🪵 Incroyablement cool.
Yes, I saw that title, and I was expecting to see a RUclips warning about blood & gore! Thank goodness that did not happen, and they turned out to be wooden stitches. Olivier always amazes me with the detailed work on his pieces.
Just one stroke of genius after another. From one who has been turning for many years, my hat is off to you!
You are so good I almost don't like you. This is beyond great work.
In a world of constant craziness, watching your videos calms me down to where I find my happy place.
yes me too, it's why I'm addicted to all these arts and crafts channels. they don't spout nonsense. they are just masters of their craft
The work of a true craftsman, congratulations on a job well done!
Kid, you never cease to amaze me! Beautiful!
Wasn’t sure what sort of “stitches”you were referring to in the title, so I’m glad it didn’t involve a trip to the hospital. That piece looks amazing! Also, I’m impressed by the way you were able to keep the piece stable through the process. Kudos!!
I have seen hundreds of woodturning videos. This is my favorite one.
What a great video to wake up to
DUDE~!! I'm new to this genre, and you're the one that I compare all others to, you really present this very well. But, when I read 100+ STITCHES, I thought you were injured -- again, NEWBIE -- and I didn't want to watch. OMG~!! I finally read some of these comments and this made me laugh... and, of course, I was so impressed~!!
(and thankful that the stitches were in the wood~!!😉)
Beautiful work~!!
Amazing wood turning skills, incredible machines, beautiful camera angles coupled with shots resembling a heavy gun operating soldier... 😁😁😁 👍👍👍.
Very beautiful Olivier. I can not help but think that it takes a warped mind to think up something like this. Well done.
Absolutely phenomenal!! I could not turn off the video!! I'm gonna watch it again when I show my mom in law!
A very clever way to achieve a uniform wall thickness. Not to mention a great work of art and functionality.
Just want to say how much I love this channel. Not only are the pieces you create amazing, but so is the videography. Also really appreciate the consistent use of PPE -- so important but all too often ignored.
Olivier, Yes wonderful video work!! I was amazed at the view from inside as you turned! Please consider a video showing us how you captured this amazing angle.
I am nervous when I see my favorite wood workers not using PPE.
What is PPE?

OK, I'll admit it--I fell for the title and screeched "Oh no!" I'm glad you are safe and sound and it's just another incredible design!
"You'll come for the bloodshed!! You'll stay for the craftsmanship!"
I kept cringing in anticipation each time he slowed down the video too!

Talk about 'the less traveled road'! We watch the transition of the workings of your imagination take form and function. The process and the result are equally amazing.
Thanks.
Wowza, I thought I was good.I’m nothing compared to the master!!!👍🏻☮✌🏻
Duuuuuuude Oliver. Amazing work again.
At first I was a bit worried that the stitches were for you but now I get it. Great job!
Same, when he pulled the chainsaw out, I feared he had a mishaps with it.
I also. I had no idea stitches were for the wood. I am so relieved!
Maaann!!! You're a genius! Not only turning this piece of art, but also manufacturing the fixtures and inventing the methods. Dayum maann...
I read the comments prior to viewing to be sure it wasn't a how-to-get-hurt video :-)
I know full well how to get hurt so, I tend to shy away from the painful expositions.
Wow, I was not expecting that!! :-) Genius woodcrafting skill and ideas!!!
Magnifique!
What most people would throw in the fireplace you see the beauty of the WHOLE PIECE and set out to accentuate the abnormalities. You Mr Gomis are an inspiration to us 64 year old wannabe woodturners!
We're not all living such a nice experience we can create these items. Need to burn it to stay warm in winter or die my friend :+(

Wasn't sure where you were going with this at first but wow! Original.

This came out great buddy. I was nervous about the 100 stitches part, especially when you slowed the video down lol. What a beautiful chunk of wood. You make some amazing stuff bud, all the jigs and craftsmanship, top notch.
Same. Immediate reaction was "Oh crap! I hope he's ok! Wait....oh. Ok! Nice!"
I almost didn't watch because of the "100 stitches" comment. Glad I read this spoiler post before surfing away.
"Bud"? Are you stuck in the 1950s?
I assumed it was woodworking terminology when I first clicked before I thought about it for a sec. Turns out I was right to begin with. Great work as always!
Very nice use of cracks and light
This is not only amazing woodworking but also fantastic camera work and video editing!
What a relief that the "100+ stitches" were in the wood! The title of the video had me worried, for a moment.
Pretty fukin amazing mate! Just seeing all of the different tools you’re incorporating is quite interesting! AWESOME 👏
Bravissimo!
Simply beautiful!
tu m' épate a chaque fois quel talent !!
Once again… great! When reduced to a twelve minute video, it looks so quick n easy.
But my favorite part is thinking about the problem-solving process that you are going through.
Thanks again for sharing.
Best sculptor and artist on you tube... amazing stuff x
Superbe! Ça fait vraiment un très bel effet! Bravo!
Wow. You made a woodturning version of the steady-rest!

I’ve seen a lot of wood turning channels. Some are informative, some make nice work, most talk to much. But Olivier Gomis is of a different planet. Amazing videos, skill and intelligent approach of making this amazing pieces of art.
Incredible job, thanks for sharing
Those stitches are SEW cool.
Great jigs, great work, GREAT RESULTS!!
Great use of what was literally fire wood. The “stitches” are a great addition giving stability, interest, and beauty. I thought you had a wonderful vase as you applied the finish and the colors and grain woke up. Was concerned when you drilled the hole in the bottom. Then as you chiseled out the groove I understood where you were going. This is a beautiful lamp. Well done!
BTW, your jigs are fantastic as well. I’m sure you could have done this without them, but your jigs really enhanced and sped your work. Excellent job with all of it.
Thank you for sharing.
This is an awesome idea! A Festool Domino DF-700 would be a great tool for this.
All the Best, Chuck
That was pure genius.
Oh I LOVE it. I just subscribed. I adore wood turning. I bet it smells wonderful in the area you wood turn .🌺💚🙃
