Wtf my pixel 6 has no connectivity issues, no fingerprint issues, no heating issues, no slow charge, has all the new features its predecessors launched with. And the price for picking a refurbished one up these days is AMAZING. The review should not have been made with just the conditions at launch in mind
I think quality control was the biggest issue here. You could have a perfectly working or some *meh* ones just based on luck. The 7 was better but I clearly remember the 7 pro I got was hot as hell, returned it, and the regular 7 I got after was working like a charm with no heating issues. Same processor but not the same feeling. The 8 seems more consistent, I hope for a great 9!
I honestly loved my 6 pro for about a year. It was perfect until the update to android 13. Once the update dropped, it messed up the phone too much for me to use comfortably. I couldn't play any media on the device and being able to take photos and videos was inconsistent. Sometimes the camera app would stop working all together and I'd have to restart my phone. Sometimes it'd freeze and restart itself. Even factory resetting the device couldn't fix it.
Ive owned the pixel 7 pro and now the 8 pro. Love the 7 as its been my first android experience after 10 generations of iphone and i fell in love with android and the curved edges. With the 8 pro now, honestly its even better. Less heat more battery. I also own an s24 ultra for my second sim card and compared to that the chip is still a little bit slower but honestly for the software and cameras, the pixel is still my phone the year
I have a Pixel 6a, it cost £199 after getting a £200 cashback deal. Amazing camera, made of chocolate, finger print reader is the worst ever. Bit buggy. But for £199 its still great value.
Same. I use a Flip3 for personal and Razr 5G for work but I still use my Pixel 3 because it excels better in internal audio and camera than my newer phones. Other than battery life, it excelled in most areas.
I had the Pixel 2 and Pixel 4 XL. The Pixel 2 was the best camera I have ever had and the speaker were amazing to watch youtube because they were towards me. The pixel 4 XL was the camera upgrade I really wanted and the experience with high refresh rate display was amazing! Definitely the two best phones in the Pixel line up!

lol I waited until the bugs were fixed before I bought the pixel 6 at a much lower price so maybe that is biasing me but I never had any serious issues with the pixel 6 besides the fingerprint sensor. I'm still using it and plan to upgrade to the pixel 9 next (been waiting for that new design refresh).
The first Pixel was not carrier locked to Verizon in the US unless you got it from Verizon. If you bought it straight from Google it came carrier unlocked.
What he meant was it was a Verizon exclusive. And it wasn't carrier locked even if you bought the Verizon variant. I used to sell the Verizon variant to AT&T customers. It worked, because the phone didn't lock to VZW. I think what I had to do was activate it on VZW then you could switch the Sim.
The pixel 2XL and 4XL were by far the superior portrait mode capturing pixels. My experience with the 2XL was far different than everyone else's, as I somehow was able to get one with absolutely none of the many problems which people experienced with the 2xl display.
I LOVED the Pixel 2 XL, for a coupla reasons, but one BIG reason was the two stereo FRONT firing loud speakers! GREAT for watching content. The pixel 4 had a better camera than literally every pixel that came after it, and I've racked my brain trying to understand why the hell that could possibly be. I've come to the conclusion that Google degrades the pixel's camera little by little over the entire year following the release of its newest pixels, That's the only logical reason why a person who owns a pixel 4 and a pixel 8, can take photos with each, and then compare the photos side by side, wont see much of a difference. Its because the pixel 4s camera isn't capable of capturing the kind of photos which we remember them capturing! Nobody else notices, because they degraded the cameras capabilities over time, and through so-called updates.
I forget the name of the guy who went to adobe. Basically he was the main man and he perfectly the computational photography using 12mp sensor that was used until the 6 (and still in the 6a which won award as best camera from MKBHD). In my opinion 4XL was the best and it’s taken up until late in the 7 Pro release (just before the 8 Pro) to catch up with the old work.
Pixel 6 and 6 pro aren't bad at all after all these updates, im talking about a good battery and less heat while charging. the cellular issue still occurs tho but it didn't deserve the last position imo.
I miss my pixel 5 all the time! the fingerprint reader on the back the camera set up and it was perfect in hand. I have a Pixel 8 and have had the OG Pixel and Pixel 3 but the 5 will always be in my heart
I'm still using my 4 XL because it runs perfectly fine. I love the face scan biometric feature for both unlocking the phone but for unlocking Bitwarden, my password manager. You can pry my 4 XL from my cold dead hands.
My pixel 6 woke up one morning and totally refused coming back on ,it was totally dead ,the technician told me the motherboard had died and needed to be replaced .I used it for over 2years though !
The Pixel 5 got a lot of heat at launch but in the end I still say it was the best Pixel made so far. It wasn't top of the line but it had a great feel in the hand, all day battery and everything just worked. I only upgraded to an 8 because the battery was finally starting to go out. I would have simply bought another Pixel 5 but the 8 has more radio frequencies being a newer model. Luckily, the 8 is close to the same size as the 5 but I still miss my old 5 from time to time.
This is a random comment but I actually use my pixel 8 thermometer about weekly as I am an aquarium keeper and I find it very convenient to use my phone to check the temperature rather than having a thermometer in each tank
Two features I really miss are the "squeeze to ask" function and the rear fingerprint scanner. Having it on the rear felt faster and your pointer finger is naturally already sitting there. The two tone rear was also a great look. If not for the bezels and small cameras on the rear, the first several models would look very current.
As a Pixel 4, 6 and 8 owner I agree that the 8 is the best, but in my heart 4 will always have a special place, expecially my Oh so orange version. Its battery life was terrible, but hey, that's what power banks are for.

Pixel 2. It does everything you could've wanted....excellent charging speed, stunning camera, ease of use, finger print activation - even six years on, i'm still using it!
I've owned the Pixel 3a XL, the Pixel 6 pro, and the pixel 7 pro. None of the newer phones was a more complete, seamless, stable, and enjoyable experience as that 3a XL. That phone was just so incredibly well rounded. No notes! The Pixel 7 Pro made me buy a S24 Ultra. I've never wanted to get rid of a phone more than my P7P.
IMO the OG Pixel and Pixel 2 receiving Night Sight is so underrated. Night Sight essentially give their cameras a ~2 generation upgrade for free, allowing them to compete well with phones ~2 years newer until the competition caught up
I had them all and this is my opinion 1 Pixel 8 Pro 2 Pixel 7 Pro 3 Pixel 5 4 Pixel 6 Pro 5 Pixel 2 XL 6 Pixel 4 XL 7 Pixel 1 8 Pixel 3 XL is the worst!
My first Pixel was the 2XL, Panda color. One of the best phone I ever had. But unfortunattely, after battery replacement (by an official one) the fast charge was no longer available and battery life was even worse. Now I'm still running on my Pixel 4XL, Panda too. It's still running strong, I scheduled a battery/USB-C port replacement to keep it running for few next years.
My first google phone is a pixel 4a. It is such a darling because it is light and thin. Even my sister was fond of the night photography. I also appreciate that among the phones I had, it can really capture good pics of the night sky. RIP my pixel 4a been using it for 3y. Im on my pixel 8 now. Hopefully it lasts longer than the 4a.
Had my Pixel 3 XL from 2021 till March of this year. My favorite pixel ever and the only thing that I have issues with it is the battery life and heating issues. Currently upgraded to a Pixel 6a. Love the compact size and the only thing that I am missing from my Pixel 3 XL is the back fingerprint scanner.
You've likely already called out on this one, but I'll say it anyway: You mentioned the Pixel/Pixel XL as being carrier locked to Verizon. I was already a Google Fi customer and bought my PXL through the Fi store to replace my Nexus 6. The phone was easy to get unlocked as well. I still use the PXL when I just plan to snap lots of pictures due to original quality for life, I Even added the limited blue Pixel (non-XL) version to my collection. I really, really, liked the P4XL. I wish the soli sensor and face unlock of that version continued into later phones. The only reason I didn't keep my P4XL was the screen broken and the cost to fix it was just too high, trade-in value, even with the damage, was a better option, and I was really interested in getting my hands on the then new P6P with its Tensor chip. I currently daily the P8P, it's the best general use Pixel yet. And I do use the temp sensor regularly with Fitbit since the update that enabled body temperature. But just a note on the Pixel 5 and why it was a downgrade from the 4. I still believe that was a plan to make the first phone with the Tensor chip look better than it really was. Had the 5 gotten similar updates as Pixels of previous years, their Tensor chip could not have exceeded the 5s performance. So, when the 5 came out they had to downgrade it because even the Pixel 4 was sometimes faster than the 6.
1. 8 Pro - awesome but my battery life is becoming questionable 2. 7 Pro - good but had zoom calls drop due to heat issues one too many times. 3. 4 XL - i still miss this phone sometimes, it was so sleek. 4. Pixel 2 - absolutely loved this phone. 5. Pixel 1 - OG Phone 6. Pixel 5 - too average in everything 7. 6 Pro - I had so many damn bugs 🪲 🪲 🪲 🪲 8. 3XL - last place for the damn notch alone
The nexus 5 was the one that convinced me to buy google phones. The pixel 2xl is what made me a pixel fanboy. I bought that thing 5 years ago and it is still going strong. Just bought the 7A. Once again a smooth experience.
Even though pixel 2 and 2xl are my favorite due to the stereo speaker layout and the squeeze for assistant, I still miss that gen 1 pixel. Never was able to get my own nexus before that but was jealous of a buddy of mine who had a nexus 5 and swore I would get one the first chance I could. Never got a nexus 5 but got that blue pixel 1 and was IN LOVE
Pixel 6 in last place immediately discredited this video. The fingerprint issue was quickly fixed, and it's a super all-round workhorse phone. It marked a new epoch for Google, and it's still very much in the new platform format. Not sure why I even bothered to watch this video in the first place 🙂!
That’s mad about those Vivos. I have the Magna Forest ESC and I hope they will endure a little more than your boots! Good luck on the WHW. Might see you depending on when you go
4XL is my favourite. One of the only android phones to have true face unlock. Sad that the 4 have drawn it down. Had more unique features than any prior before or since and I never had any issues with battery.
My Pixel 8 freezes a lot. Yesterday I wanted to take a quik video, double tabbed the home button, pressed record and it just stuttered and froze and eventually didn't take the video. Had to lock and open my phone again for it to work. This happens a lot, especially when playing youtube in the background with youtube premium. Looks like that Tensor G3 aint all it's supposed to be. I´ll be waiting out for the Pixel 10 with the TSMC chip
I owned Pixel2, Pixel5 and now Pixel7Pro and to my surprise, Pixel5 was the best Pixel I ever owned. The resin+metal material, its perfect size and great battery life, made my daily use experience fantastic!! Best of all worlds as far as materials are concerned! Metal for rigidity, hard plastic for ruggedness and no need for cases! It is infuriating that everyone uses glass! Glass is glass and glass breaks! But hey, cases need to be sold too, right? 😏
Loved my Panda 2XL for 4 years until I accidentally shattered the screen. I've had my 6 for over 2 years and love it even more. I'm planning to get the 9 or 9XL a few months after release to try to get a good deal. These ratings are kinda crazy
My favourite was the pixel 5. I have the 8 currently and i had the 7 and 3 in the past but the 5 was the best size, decent battery, perfectly placed finger reader for unlocking while pulling out of your pocket.
i bought the pixel 6 about half a year after launch and i had no problem with it whatsoever, was the best phone i ever had until there was an amazing trade in deal with the pixel 8, now that phone is my new favourite phone and i really love that phone, the only downside is that they removed the routines feature where my phone was set to loud when i was at home and set to silent when i was out (because of the connection with my wifi)
Pixel 4xl could have been a legend device if google had incorporated the below things 1. 4500 mAh battery (instead of 3700 mAh) 2. Brighter display (1000 nits instead of 450 nits) 3. Ultra wide lens on the back and front.
Pixel 3xl is my favorite. I've owned 3xl, 6xl, 7xl and 8xl. At the time, I felt like the 3XL had the biggest edge over other phones. The selfie camera was next level. In a lot of ways it's better than the pixel 8 XL current selfie camera. I'm going to always miss the rear fingerprint sensor. Google? Are you listening? No one needs a face sensor. No one needs a fingerprint sensor on the screen. With the rear fingerprint sensor it was seamless and the phone was unlocked before it even left my pocket. You can't beat that with the current offering.
I am really starting to think that there us some quality control issue with the pixels. Its either they are absolutely flawless or they are filled with issues like overheating, connectivity issues and battery life.
Went from a Nexus to a Pixel 3a XL to a Pixel 6 Pro. I am so satisfied with the 6 Pro, meets all my needs, and I have little interest in upgrading before they stop the updates.
Pixel 1 is my favorite still, loved that phone. Well built, top tier performance at the time, and the camera was amazing, and still takes decent photos. Also headphone jack good.
I have a Google Pixel 6 and I wouldn't call it the best pixel phone but I never had bad cellular connectivity, my phone never heats up, It charges pretty decently fast, and the fingerprint scanner works great. I really wnted to upgrade to the Pixel 8 but my Pixel 6 was working just fine and so I decided to wait for the Pixel 9 to come out before I upgrad my phone.
Pixel 4 XL still MVP Panda colours, mate backplate and mate rails, with different color power button and 3D face unlock 🤍🩶 I'm glad they slammed some of that on Pixel 8.
Mine wasn't on this list... the Pixel 3a. Simply, because it lived up the "Nexus" line up the most. Affordable, amazing camera, headphone jack and good software. I'm also a big fan of polycarbonate bodies like the 3a, and they made it even better by putting a metal plate in it for extra weight and stability. I didn't care that it had a mid-tier processer, it never slowed me down and the battery life was good. 3a joins my top 3 best phones ever, up there with iPhone 4S and Nexus 4
I'm still rocking my pixel 6 pro. I'll hopefully upgrade to the pixel 9 when it comes out. I don't really have any complaints about this phone. It's one of the best phones I've ever had
Completely agree with the rated order here. I am a very very Very proud owner of the OG Pixel XL & 3XL. Absolutely loved the devices. Surprisingly, when the Android 10 Beta arrived on the OG Pixel XL, it worked better than my 3XL. Unfortunately the phone just died out of no where & just didn't boot up after a couple of months of lying unused :( Still have my 3XL although the glass on both the front & back are completely shattered 🙈 then moved out of the Pixel line due to the Tensor Chip. Wish Google had stuck with Snapdragon chips. 4/5 years of s/w updates is perfectly good time & in general Most people use their phones for that long only since the batteries begin to age drastically, etc. I bet No one is going to be using their Pixel 8s for 7 years LOL.
The pixel is still looking for it's identity. Much respect to the pixel diehards for sticking it out. I had the 5, 6 and 6a. 5 wasn't bad but the 6 and 6a not so much.

There were a lot of bad pixel 6s.
Mine was bad, for eg
I still have Pixel 1 around just for backing up photos from my iPhone and other cameras 😅
Pixel 5 was the GOAT. Everything was perfection
No headphone Jack
@@kvbk Wasn't an issue as I haven't used wired earphones since 2019.

PIXEL 4XL IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE
Pixel 3 was my favorite phone I ever used. I wish they would just use that exact phone, slap a tensor in it and call it the A line
Totally agree! I use an iPhone but kept my pixel 3 and use it on WIFI at home. It’s my favorite phone ever.
I LOVED the Pixel 2 XL, for a coupla reasons, but one BIG reason was the two stereo FRONT firing loud speakers! GREAT for watching content. Having had the Motorola Google Nexus 6 (6" Quad HD display, Dual front firing stereo speakers and many other great features of the day (it was the alternate to the similar specced Samsung Note 4)), it too was fantastic for watching RUclips/TV series/Movies & such! 👌
😎🇬🇧
lol I waited until the bugs were fixed before I bought the pixel 6 at a much lower price so maybe that is biasing me but I never had any serious issues with the pixel 6 besides the fingerprint sensor. I'm still using it and plan to upgrade to the pixel 9 next (been waiting for that new design refresh).
Loved my pixel 2 .. Still holding strong with the p6p 👌🏽👌🏽
Have had a Pixel 3 XL, 4 XL, 6a and 8 Pro. The 4XL was probably my favorite, that thing was beautiful.
The Pixel 2 XL is the phone that freed me from the iPhone. And ever since then I never looked back! #TeamPixel
9:32 predecessor to the pixel 6/pro is the 7 series?? Don't u mean successor??📱
OG pixel wasnt such a groundbreaking camera, had odd internal reflections / flare
What was worse?
@@technicallygood7569 bad autofocus and sometimes (1 out of 30 or so) cant hear incoming calls, but they were hearing me tho
I think it is a shame pixel 4 is not higher. I think it was underated. The face unlock was great! One of my favourite phones of all time.
3:01 the sullis sensor being a geolocked was so sad
Google is what the American Government accused Huawei of being, a security risk.
We need a phone with Googles software, Samsungs hardware (Snapdragon version), Honors battery, Xiaomis Camera and Nubias price.
Xiaomi cameras??? This is a sick joke
Why Xiaomi cameras? They're just an over sharpened mess.
@@georgearn1 The Cameras on the Ultra are genuinely fantastic.
Are you sick? Xaomi camera?
did you mean Xiaomi battery? if you mean Xiaomi cameras i think you need to take back what you said
This is a random comment but I actually use my pixel 8 thermometer about weekly as I am an aquarium keeper and I find it very convenient to use my phone to check the temperature rather than having a thermometer in each tank
Two features I really miss are the "squeeze to ask" function and the rear fingerprint scanner. Having it on the rear felt faster and your pointer finger is naturally already sitting there. The two tone rear was also a great look. If not for the bezels and small cameras on the rear, the first several models would look very current.
Amen.
Someone help a sister out. Is pixel 3 or pixel 5 better?? Or are they about the same?
(I don't want the 5 if it's going to be a downgrade)
Wow; didn't expect the 6/6Pro to be last.
Rocking my P6 for over 2y now
As a Pixel 4, 6 and 8 owner I agree that the 8 is the best, but in my heart 4 will always have a special place, expecially my Oh so orange version. Its battery life was terrible, but hey, that's what power banks are for.
I LOVED the Pixel 2 XL, for a coupla reasons, but one BIG reason was the two stereo FRONT firing loud speakers! GREAT for watching content. The squeeze for the assistant was another awesome feature I miss.im fond of the 2xl
Night Sight essentially give their cameras a ~2 generation upgrade for free, allowing them to compete well with phones ~2 years newer until the competition caught up
I had them all and this is my opinion
1 Pixel 8 Pro
2 Pixel 7 Pro
3 Pixel 5
4 Pixel 6 Pro
5 Pixel 2 XL
6 Pixel 4 XL
7 Pixel 1
8 Pixel 3 XL is the worst!
Watching on my pixel 5
Great comparison. But the sound seems processed through the adobe & sounds robotic.
Soon as I saw the thumbnail I remembered the original pixel and how much COMPLETELY WASTED space was on the front 💀
Pixel 4 XL White color 😎
I agree!
most beautiful phone i ever had
1. 8 Pro - awesome but my battery life is becoming questionable
2. 7 Pro - good but had zoom calls drop due to heat issues one too many times.
3. 4 XL - i still miss this phone sometimes, it was so sleek.
4. Pixel 2 - absolutely loved this phone.
5. Pixel 1 - OG Phone
6. Pixel 5 - too average in everything
7. 6 Pro - I had so many damn bugs 🪲 🪲 🪲 🪲
8. 3XL - last place for the damn notch alone
Not sure why I even bothered to watch this video in the first place 🙂!
yup, pixel 7 being so high too, all ive seen about it are complaints
That’s mad about those Vivos. I have the Magna Forest ESC and I hope they will endure a little more than your boots! Good luck on the WHW. Might see you depending on when you go
4XL is my favourite. One of the only android phones to have true face unlock. Sad that the 4 have drawn it down. Had more unique features than any prior before or since and I never had any issues with battery.
The removal of "free google photos" is the worst decision made by google
I'm so happy to see the Pixel 3 making it so high in the list. It really was an amazing phone. Man, ngl I was sad parting with it
My Pixel 8 freezes a lot.
Right now I have my first pixel the 9 pro xl and I love it . Absolutely doing better every time .
I've been using my Google pixel 3A since like this year it's been working pretty fantastic. I just switched to a pixel 8 pro
pixel 2 is number 1 in terms of repairability
At Launch I agree the 6 line had several bugs but after updates they have been one of the best phones for me.
My last 3 phones are the Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 5, and my current phone is the 7 Pro, which is still going strong.
I love my Pixel 8 Pro after preordering it and it came with a free Pixel Watch 2 which I currently use today!
Pixel 4xl could have been a legend device if google had incorporated the below things
1. 4500 mAh battery (instead of 3700 mAh)
2. Brighter display (1000 nits instead of 450 nits)
3. Ultra wide lens on the back and front.
What are your thoughts on the P9P compared to your 1st place ?
Agree.
The crappiest Phone wins. Loved my 6 Pro, 8 Pro has bad battery stamina and forgets to inform you about new Mails and Whatsapp. Sorry, no!
5 was my fav.. great battery life, camaras, and
felt perfect in the hand.
Damn I like this Host 💪🏻
Thank you!
Hoped that Pixel 3 will be at top 3, shocked that it really happen.
Man, I wish they make neat-looking compact phones like it again.
Pixel 4 XL still MVP
Panda colours, mate backplate and mate rails, with different color power button and 3D face unlock 🤍🩶
I'm glad they slammed some of that on Pixel 8.
Gemini was announced for Pixel 8 (non-pro) as well
Completely agree with the rated order here.
I am a very very Very proud owner of the OG Pixel XL & 3XL. Absolutely loved the devices. Surprisingly, when the Android 10 Beta arrived on the OG Pixel XL, it worked better than my 3XL. Unfortunately the phone just died out of no where & just didn't boot up after a couple of months of lying unused :(
Still have my 3XL although the glass on both the front & back are completely shattered 🙈 then moved out of the Pixel line due to the Tensor Chip.
Brilliant! My history with Pixels is the Pixel 2 XL, pixel 4 XL and Pixel 6 Pro 😂
i loved my OG Pixel but sadly it eventually had to be retired since the battery died completely. Went to a 3a and currently a 4a
I recently purchased a Pixel 8 coming from an iPhone for more than 10 years and I can say that Pixel is a very good choice. I just wish charging was faster and battery lasted longer. But anything other than that, I love my Pixel. But I'll still use my iPhone with it
