🎶Wild one the gypsies warned of the danger. You can laugh and joke with friends but don't you ever talk to strangers🎶
I am 14 years old I live in Brazil and I love Thin Lizzy too much, I feel unique things when I listen. I feel nostalgia for something I did not live
I think Phil's dad was from Brazil so he's got South American blood, he's mum was Irish and he was born in England.
@@jakmak1199 really, Phil's dad was from British Guyana, not Brazil.
🇧🇷.
Começou a escutar Thin Lizzy por conta própria ou por indicação de alguém? Nova assim e já escutando uma banda que, Infelizmente não é tão popular no Brasil, é legal.
@@gleisonferres Well close enough, practically neighbour's. 🙄
@@jakmak1199 is on the border north from Brazil. too close.
As a 22 year old in 2023 I can honestly say there is not a single band now or in the future that will even touch the greatness of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy in terms of greatness. Quite simply the best band of all time, a man that can write songs like this and like whiskey in the jar and jailbreak and the boys are back in town, simply incredible
I am much older than you and remember Thin Lizzy from way back when they were at the height of their powers. I liked them then but still didn't fully appreciate just how great they really were.
Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 😀
Phil Lynott didn't write Whiskey in the jar it's a traditional Irish folk song!
@@edwardcowley42 Some people really put in effort to misinterpret...
Phil, Eric and Brian rearranged Whiskey in the jar and made it in a very different way than the traditional folk song. Could you agree on that?
@@johannilsson2877 "Could you agree on that?" Agree on something? Are you crazy? This is RUclips! 😉
To me this was a the classic Lizzy lineup, just before they really hit the big time.
Harmonys, riffs, lyrics...
Ireland's greatest ever band🤘☘☘☘🎸🎸
the workld greates band ever
@@sireddiepehel8537 yessir
Greatest group in the World!
Agreed...they should hv been what U2 is...
U2 r grt in their genre...
But thin Lizzy transitioned into any genre so easily..
Powerhouse talent! 🤘
... with Pogues
Not only a genius, this song proves Phil Lynnot be such a great singer.
So, only this song proved that?
@@skineyemin4276 no
Even Axl Rose likes.
Brian Downey was/is such an amazing drummer. So in the pocket and super-tasty fills without a shred of ego or bullshit.
My sentiments entirely. Couldn’t have said that any better myself !
No Thin Lizzy iteration even in 2021 would be complete without Brian Downey
There's a thin line between a drummer overplaying and displaying some musical expression, it takes a great drummer to learn this. Anyone can learn a really hard beat, if they put the effort in. Any musician will understand improvement is not linear. For example, I can play what is supposedly the hardest drum beat in existence, the Purdie shuffle, like nothing, I've even improved on it, by putting a poly rhythm and an odd time signature on it every 3 bars. Technically, this would mean I came up with the "hardest drum beat ever," but it's not about that. There is a lot I have to learn. A LOT. Playing an instrument is more than just technical ability, and even then my technical ability is not amazing, my chops are fairly basic, and I barely practice my rudiments. Being a musician is all about feel and taste. You need that technique to back it up and expand your options, but it is not the most important factor
Exactly, he plays for the music rather than with the music. Pure class.
He was a neighbour of mine here in Dalkey. A really nice down to earth guy
Ode to the mighty and unbeateable twin guitars!!!
First saw Thin Lizzy at the old Liverpool boxing stadium in 1976. What a show, Phil Lynott and the boys were awesome. Great memories . Sadly missed. Always playing their music.
This song just makes me so emotional for no reason.
Same. Phil's voice I guess......Felt so "lonely" in 82-83 in high school when I told the others in class, my badge? Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy ......And about nobody heard the name
Fully agree. Years later John Norum made an excellent cover. Check it out
Emma.. you are so right🤩🎸😐
Me Too
i like Chinatown
Phil Lynott wrote the most beautiful ROCK songs. Not an easy thing to do. This song is drenched in melody. Covered as a ballad and Sinatra could be singing it.
A very nice anology..Philip parris lynott was a gift to anyone with open ears..I wept when he passed..and I think of him at some point every day.x❤️X♠️🎸
@@samandjennysambrook he was truly one of the greatest, such an amazing songwriter.
This man was such a talented singer, songwriter & musician
And Poet...
Phil was a musical genius and right up there with Led Zep, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. My top 4 in equal shares. Phil you lovely angel I swung on your statue outside Bruxells Bar in Dublin. I saw you just the once as a kid with my friends. Awesome. Rip darling ❤❤❤
Thin Lizzy and The Cult are two of the most underrated bands in the world. Love them both!
MOST UNDERRATED BAND EVER and I will never ever understand why !!!!
Häh? Sie sind und waren nie unterbewertet! Sie waren und sind stilbildend was die beiden synchronen Leadgitarren angeht
Me neither. I saw them as a kid and they totally blew me away. Phil will live in our hearts forever 😢😢
Pretty famous actually. Never under-rated. What the hell are you talking about?
standard 'underrated' comment
Yeah, they are among the biggest Rock bands ever, maybe if you're 12 years old they are new to you, but "underrated"? No way, they are institution
I'm pretty upset this doesn't have 65 million views. It's an absolutely beautiful song from start to finish, and Phil's vocal. It hits you. Well, if you're not a robot! Hence, no 65 million views. Too many robots!
Unfortunately many of these lizzy videos are unavailable here in the us, I had to use a vpn to find this
Iam a big thin lizzy fan love the group and what emotion the music still brings me 🎧🎧🎶🎶🎶
Lynnot precisa ser mais valorizado pela mídia musical e juventude contemporânea. Foi um gênio musical!
Phil would have been 69 this week !!....One of the greatest bands ever to grace the stage....R-I-P Phil ;)
Phil's vocals is amazing
Great Phil Lynott, here in South America where your beautiful songs have also arrived are parts of their roots. Your lyricism will never be forgotten and enriches rock 'n' roll. 🤘😈👍
Timeless guitars...
Timeless twin guitars
Never get old
He was my biggest idol growing up in the seventies(competing with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and others) He is a legend.
Saw Thin Lizzy Cornwall Coliseum Just after spending the weekend at the first Elephant Fayre Sunday 2nd August 1981 . Snowy White was paired up with the wonderful Scott Gorman . I am so deeply indebted to these wonderful artists who have left me such a wealth of tremendous music to enjoy and always will. To have heroes like these ,instead of empire makers or here today ,gone tomorrow politicians . I ,and my generation ( mid sixties now) are so fortunate to have had such true talent to enjoy and appreciate. I can’t thank you enough ..Kind Regards
Probably my favourite Lizzy song... reminds me of my little brother who died too young...
Sorry for you loss Daniel
Same here!
Sorry to hear 😕
@@danieltripp2578 so sorry to hear thisxx
34 Years ago today we lost the legend that will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Phil
Phil rory Gary doleres rip
Greatest band ever.
When you think he's been gone longer than he existed. The legend will never fade. Legends never really die do they. They live on in our hearts 💕.
This was the thing.
Imposible to describe.
Speechless.
One of lizzy best tunes ..why do we not hear on radio I don't know
---this is a very wonderful ballad---This song should have been a number 1 in every radio and television station in Germany---Phil Lynott had a godgiven talent---Do you agree,John ?---
@@antoniodipalma492 I do agree yes great band great talent
This song always bring a tear to my eyes, I miss these guy's an absolute killer of a band .Brian and Scott just nailed it every single time , Phil is just making it look so easy and bringing the whole track together. Remember this band we all need Thin Lizzy and sadly there will never be another band like them , happy sad days .
I remember being a young Iron Maiden fan, and reading something in an interview about Thin Lizzy, i thought i should check them out. Went out and bought Bad Reputation and Nightlife. I'm so glad i did , about 25 years later they still are (and forever will be) one of my favorite bands. Phil was one of the most charismatic rockers of all time. God bless his wonderful soul.
Yes - back then I often read Steve Harris got much influenced by Thin Lizzy. The inspiration for twin guitar solos he got from Thin Lizzy and Wishbone Ash. The hard rock touch from bands like Scorpions. And he put it all together in a new Heavy Metal Format and made one of the biggest Heavy Metal Bands out of that combination.
My path to Iron Maiden was via Live and Dangerous. Adrian Smith has always said he was a big fan fan.
How on earth it took me 53 years to find this awesome band
Check out still in love with you live
because your country was musically asleep in the 70s maybe or you are a late developer.Whatever.It matters that you discovered at last this Irish poetic genius.Rock music was msde in Crumlin Dublin Eire Υια παντα μαζι σου Phil
Never to late jari. Thin Lizzy, man ....sound at my place for 40 years
@@konstantinoskourkoulos1052 No no, my country was not musically asleep, we had Hurriganes, Wigwam and many other great bands on that time. I knew Thin Lizzy but never really orientated to listen them properly.
Hey man never to late to join the lizzy party ..WELCOME
Every time I hear this song it gets better and better, the guitars, the DRUMS.
The voice!!!
A rhythm section from Dublin and 2 guitarists from Scotland and America playing sweet melody. The second part of the solo at 2.12 gets me every time.
I think this is my favourite Thin Lizzy songs. Just something about hits me right in the heart.
Same here. Spiritual music.

This one is about his mother,i love you mum and always will ☺✌🔥💕
Phil lynott and his band have written an important page in the history of rock music....unequalled until this day...a unique brand of music with no time lapses....impossible nowadays to compose..all their discography is shelved and taken care of in my collection.
63 now and bought my first album in 1976. Needless to say it was Jailbreak. Still the best band ever.
Here is another example when talent and drugs not should have met. Lovely song indeed.
@@michaelrosendahl5770 heroin ruins everything.
1:57 his smile melts me every single time. Love Phil and Lizzy so much!
Yes I agree, very natural, bet he was a bit of a mischief maker RIP Phil, jammin with Rory now.
Phils Voice is dynamite on this. In the later years the coke had ruined his nose and vocals.
Here he shines bright
The flashy guys like Brain Roberston Gary Moore and John Sykes got all the plaudits but I love Scott Gorham's playing . Some of my favourite guitar solos are his. His solo on Still in Love with You from Live and Dangerous is sublime.
@John Donnellan They both solo on Still in Love with you.
Don't forget the great Eric Bell
R.I.P one of the biggest rock legends mr. Phil Lynott. You will never be forgotten.
Glory to my ears, Phil Rock in Peace, you are great.
Jesus, how young does Robbo look here. Classic Lizzy.
Grew up listening to Thin Lizzy in the early 80s the soundtrack of of my youth .Was lucky enough to watch them live twice .
Saw them too Times live with Philip too in 1981 & 1983💎
Thin lizzy the best band ever, and this line up the best ever.phil lynott underated song writer,God bless him.
--yes--this is a very, very heavenly ballad with these Godgiven leadguitars --- this should be a "number 1" on the radiostations all over the world back then in the early 70ies --- did you have ever seen Thin Lizzy live back then ?,dear "davegarrard" ------ Phil Lynott had the very Godgiven Irish talent ---Me,Antonio, I am 64 years old(half Italian) --and how old are you, dear "davegarrard" ? -- and in which country do you live, dear dave ? --- I,me, live in Ostfriesland on the North-German windy coast ---
They were simply just a brilliant band. RIP Phil gone too soon.
No other, there's simply no other like Phill, and there will never be. Forever Thin Lizzy ❤

Great track. Emotional..
Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame NOW!
That place stinks anyway!
Scott looks out of it ,Love the Lizzy
They all look wrecked, probably touring at the time.
this is really moving stuff, Phil will always be my number one
A unforgettable voice and a handsome man.
What a band!! Harmony guitar lines are awesome in this track. That sound, along with Phil's unique voice, is the TL 'trademark'. RIP Phil Lynott.

What a superband..
Rip Philomena Lynott. 12/6/19.
Ahora vuelven a estar juntos.
Philomena ? That sounds like a lady's name. In this video clip, that would almost more be applyable to one of the two guitarists....
What a journey she had throughout her pregnancy and his youngest years. Remarkable woman.

Oh lord this is great song!
Everything was perfectly synched in Lizzy: lyrics, vocals, harmony, arrangements, drumming, guitars, charisma. Ty Phil, Gary and Thin Lizzy.
When did Moore play on this?
This is the sorrow song of a lost love
for me ❤️💔
Greatest rock band of all time IMO
This song, this lyrics, masterpiece. When you knows Phil's history this song turns more special
As John Lennon sang " Lets stop all the fight ! "
Phil Lynott transcended national borders and boundaries he belonged to every single
country / nation in the whole world !
In other words it doesn't matter how he got here ( albeit all too briefly ) let's just thank God that he did !
Too right, all I could hear on the radio was traditional music and country and western, Ireland needed a good musical shakedown and Lizzy were the boys to do it.
Gorham and Roberton's, one of the best twin guitars performance.
This song is freaking cool.
Niguem recomendou, eu vim aqui por conta propria. Thin Lizzy é uma das melhores bandas de rock de todos os tempos.
