We literally had people spreading the virus INTENTIONALLY. In the films it's always some evil corporate because there's some spoils to it, in reality it's just dumb people for shits and giggles.

Yeah I still had to go in to work because my employer brought a bunch of cleaning wipes and masks when the virus kicked off and the company and staff were considered 'essential' as a result. It was bs and we all resented it but that 1 hr 20 mins travel through London was great, it was awesome not being sandwiched in the underground anymore

My job made us go hybrid with working both from home and at the office and I miss being fully remote. It was why I took the job. Every time I'm stuck in traffic, or have to take a detour because of an accident, or almost have an accident because of an impatient driver, I always think, "I wouldn't be dealing with this bull if we were just working remote again." We only go in two days a week, but still.
I now half the time try to find an excuse to not go in and to just work from home. This week, I'm dogsitting for my mom 😂. I legitimately am, but this dog can hold himself for up to 15 hours, I *could* have gone into the office today...but my workplace doesn't need to know that.
I get the sense my co-workers are doing the same, or they claim they need to arrive late, lol. Nobody likes going in to the damn office.

I stockpiled on TP over 4 years ago. When there were no shortages, pandemic or panic of any kind. It doesn't go bad with age, you don't quit using it, and it takes up unreasonable volume in your regular shopping, so buying a stockpile once several years is my tactic. I still have ~20 rolls and haven't bought one throughout the entire pandemic.
I do this too, glad to know I'm not alone.
So a regular-sized pack of TP takes up "unreasonable volume" in your regular shopping (which is a short-lived activity and can even be delivered) but a stockpile of TP doesn't take up unreasonable volume in your house for several years?
@@artyb27 My regular shopping is a shopping bag, typically filled to the brim. A 16-roll pack would take up more than half of it.
The stockpile takes up an otherwise unused, not so easy to reach shelf running the length of my bathroom, stacked 2 packs high.
Buying the stockpile involved a bulk package of something like 20 16-packs, roughly the size of a couch backrest. Very unwieldy but quite light, so it was one trip, maybe 20 minutes of dealing with that BS total.

i think because the frequency is a good amount higher. i dont want to shlttalk 5G nor do i think it caused the virus or some BS. but it is in fact a higher frequency than before and it also needs a lot more towers to sustain a stable network. there are no long term studies that can show how much and if it really affects the human body, just because it needs time for these studies. perhaps its really a bad idea like asbestos was in a retrospective view, and perhaps not, perhaps its just like a microwave and as long as you are not braindead it will not hurt you. but i think it is better to discuss something and keep an eye on it than to dismiss all critics as lunatics, this doesn‘t refer to your comment especially, but to the tone in many comment sections

I live in the US. Thankfully the toilet paper thing wasn’t AS bad in my area, but it was impossible to find paper towels and cleaning supplies. The local wholesale custodial supply company quietly announced they would allow people to come buy reasonable amounts of things they needed. That’s where we went. They could have charged an arm and a leg, or at least as much as it would normally cost at the store, but they only charged the wholesale price. That made me really respect them.

I worked in retail during this time; we broke up SEVERAL fights over toilet paper. I no longer work retail
As a former retail worker, I felt bad for most of the employees working then. Except the ones who were just completely rude when I didn't even ask anything from them, I was just paying for my stuff and a few would glare at me and act snippy when I said thank you. That hasn't happened at all since things went back to normal, so maybe they were just that stressed out.

I worked at a Walmart during this time. I can remember just wandering the shelves on my break and seeing what WASNT out. We were still fully stocked on trail mix and jerky, you know, food that is shelf stable and long lasting. As well as tea and cough drops, the things one would want for a respiratory illness. It. Was. Hysterical.
Cough drops ain't helping an illness they may make you feel a bit better as you die but that's not medicine. Everything for sterilization and hygiene was what people wanted and vitamins to stay healthy. Jerky is far too expensive and people aren't rich they would buy nuts and dried fruit instead and granola.
