To answer the question, an ecology teacher in Waukesha that lives at the UW Field Station. He's been teaching since the 60's, though now technically retired, and has lived on the campus for decades. He treats the prairie and education on property (wildlife center, kilns for art classes) as a humble caretaker of the land. He has taught several generations and influenced the community at large.
I want to become a teacher like Mrs. Vinson, my AP Lang teacher in Maryland. Back then, I absolutely disliked going to her class and never really participated. I was a pre-med nerdy nerd who didn’t value language arts class with her. I struggled to understand literary analysis and the study of rhetoric. Fast forward seven years, I am now a career changer so wants to become an English teacher just like her. I majored in Philosophy, Law and Ethics and I want to demonstrate my critical thinking skills just as she did during class. Just like Mrs. Vinson, I want to engage students individually during class discussions and Socratic seminars to encourage them to come out of their shells and to introspect on the community around them. Today, Mrs. Naima Vinson is a VP at a Prince Georges County high school in Maryland. I surely want to follow in her footsteps…. Sorry for the long post! Should I mention this story during my interview? I hope the interview committee would be willing to take a chance on me!
