I just want to share how much I enjoyed your video!!! Man did I feel like a FOOL, with previous interviews, on all the things I did wrong. If I had come here first, I bet I would have been at new teacher training this week. I took a lot of notes and just told myself, "If you have any more chances, use these ideas!" Well, today I had another interview and used all your ideas. I don't know if I got it or not (they still had 3 interviews to do), but boy, did I feel good when I left the interview. I felt so much more confident, and even if I don't get it, I still have great tools to use!! Thank you!!!
I was in the classroom for 4 years before voluntarily taking a step away from education. After being away for 6 years I was nervous about going into an interview. I found this video the night before my interview and watched it about 4 times. Happy to say, that I received a job offer at an amazing school after my first interview back. Great video! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your interview tips! It worked for me. I've been on five interviews in the past month with no success. After watching your video the night before and taking extensive notes, I did well on my interview and received a job offer on the spot. I'm now going to be working at my favorite high school!
Your video was extremely helpful! I watched and studied it a few times the night before my interview and did the same thing the morning of; I was offered the job on the spot!!! Thank you!
Thanks for your video! I hadn't been on the other side of an interview panel for over a decade. Your tips helped me focus my interview prep and ultimately my interview answers.
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you so much!!!! My boyfriend was having so much anxiety interviewing for a new position. He and I thought he did ok with his first few interviews, but he got rejected. Your tips were very eye opening and prepepared him immensley for the next 2 interviews, and he got job offers from both, and these are great schools!!! Thank you so so much
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉 Kudos to all the effort that went into preparing for the interview process, and sooo happy to have been a small part of this wonderful journey ahead! Your comment absolutely made my day and I'm super happy for you both - thank you so much! 🥰🤗
Oh my goodness! Thank you for this video! I watched yours and another content creator's video the day before my interview. I took notes and reflected on the information to apply it more personally to my own experiences. My interview went so well, AND I was offered the position!!!
Thank you! I watched your video last night and spruced up my interview notes. I had a virtual interview today. I was offered the job after the interview! I loved the questions that you shared for us to ask at the end of the interview. I’m returning to the classroom after having other roles in education outside of the classroom. Thanks again!
You are awesome. I am pretty sure that you helped me get a job that I actually wanted. I was a nervous wreck and didn't sleep the night before, but thanks to prepping by watching your video and all the valuable information you shared, I pretty much nailed it. Although I was exhausted and a nervous wreck, my prep work paid off. You are really helping teachers like me. You make a difference!!!
Thank you so much! You're so kind and I greatly appreciate your kind words ☺️☺️ I hope you get the dream job for sure and excited to hear the latest updates!
Thank you so much for the tips, I hope it will benefit me for my school's interview tomorrow because I have graduated from university month ago and it will be my first experience. I hope it works well.
I've watched a lot of these teacher interview prep videos over the summer in preparation for my first teaching job and I just have to say I LOVE your answers especially the one for behavior management. Very smart and thoughtful answer that alligns perfectly with what I actually would do unlike the cookie cutter answer in some of these other youtube videos. thank you so much, listening to all your answers has made me excited again about starting teaching!
Yes me too-this really resonated with me. I felt like you were describing my teaching style in all your answers but just in a much more coherent style!
Thank you, McKenzie! What I love about your video is that it is very concise and insightful. Very clear, very helpful for learning the ability to stay focused.
This is such a great video with extremely helpful tips. Your values and teaching style is so closely related to mine and I am so thankful that you've posted this so I can prepare for my upcoming interviews. I have two kindergarten position interviews coming up next week!
Thank you so much for the video. I have 27 years of teaching, but left for a couple of years. I am interviewing for a position at a new school in hopes that the environment is better than the one I left. One recommendation I would give to you is to slow down a little. I had to rewing several times in the video to make some notes. I loved the video, and you did an amazing job!
Hello Teacher, I will have my interview on Monday. This will be my first time applying to a school. I love your videos! I don't know how many times I have watched this one haha. Hopefully, I can answer all the questions asked & not panic. Thank you so much!!!!
Your video was very helpful. I'm about to apply for teaching position today and tomorrow. I'm hoping to hear back from them. I'm more nervous about the interview because this is my first time for teaching. Thankfully I have 7 years experience as a paraprofessional/co-teach as well
Being nervous is a sign that you care about the opportunity! Fingers crossed and wishing you the best news coming your way! Hope you're offered the dream position 😊
@@TeacherFYI I went to my job interview yesterday and 10 minutes after the interview, they called to tell me that I was hired. Thank you so much for your insightful video.

How bout interview prep for those first time / beginners/ no prior teaching experience who are from call center careers then transitioning to online english teaching? thanks
I love your content, however, do you know of any content creators that talk about middle and high school class strategies. I am in the UK and teach ages 11-16 and apart from my form(homeroom) class some of your suggestions are harder to implement in classes that I do not see often.
Thanks! I'd recommend practicing your answers before the interview, but not bringing in a cheat sheet to the interview itself as this takes away from the natural flow of the conversation.
Hi Jennifer! I would mention that when approached by an upset parent, I understand that it is often coming from a place of concern since they want what is best for their child. I remind parents that we are on the same team to support their child and that we can work together to find a solution in handling the situation that is upsetting them in that moment. That usually involves listening and validating the parent's feelings in the moment, thanking the parent for bringing this to your attention, explaining the action steps to solve the problem, and explain when they can hear back from you or follow-up. If necessary the action steps may involve scheduling a meeting with the parent, you and the principal to properly address the issue depending on the situation. I always try to focus on the parents as partners mentality! Good luck with the interview!! 🤗
Hello, Firstly I would like to thank you for your help as this video is very helpful. Secondly, I would like to ask you a question. I am going to have a job interview next week for a French teacher position in a secondary school in Australia. I am a French native and I just got graduated. My English is good but not as good as a native English speaker. Do you think I would be penalized and not getting the job if sometimes I make grammar mistakes during the job interview? Merci
Thank you and so happy it was helpful! I really hope that English not being your first language does not impact how things go - after all, they're hiring a French teacher and you do have the advantage of being a native French spealer. Go in confidently and don't apologize for your English, focusing more on your experience teaching French to non-speakers. Wishing you the best of luck and hope it works out!
Hello teacher...how are you? Hope you are doing well. I am an English teacher from Iraq and wanna immigrate to the USA . How much is the salary in California for a teacher with bachelor degree, 18 - year experience????
It varies a lot depending on district. My recommendation is to Google the name of the city/district you're interested in and "school salary schedule" to have the most accurate idea specific to where you would look to teach.
Thank you for the comment on inclusiveness. For this video specifically, the error is on RUclips's end despite hours of effort to fix to make in line with captions on all other videos on the channel. Hoping it gets sorted as I continue to follow up on why they aren't appearing here.
