Honestly, that’s what they probably tried emulating with Ghost Rider and Morrigan here. To me, aside from Morrigan’s weird voice and the dialogue being super awkward, I also can’t take it seriously because of the fact that Ghost Rider is literally a flaming skeleton. I know this game doesn’t have any continuity but these two characters didn’t like each other in UMvC3 so why would that change here? It doesn’t feel earned either because it’s not like this interest develops from anything substantial. Morrigan just sorta decides that she wants to get boned by Ghost Rider.
She’s better off charming Tony Stark or something.

Morrigan is so out of character it's just painful to watch. She would never look down on mortals. The reason she even escaped her duties in Makai is because she loves the human world and would rather live there. She would never care not one bit about Jedah either. They absolutely loathe each other. Their families have been enemies for ages.

To bring the darkstalkers redemption, this giant baby would be the darkstalkers saviour as Jedah designed, this would only take some millions of human lives for the creation and after the creation the entire extermination of human race, the thing is for Makai Jedah is actually a good guy, but for the earth he's not.
The fact that Dormammu, a dude that has an entire dimension as his domain, became a jobber in this game just to have one single fight and then leaves to not be seing again

The lines were so badly directed that we literally have no idea if Rocket was being sarcastic(which totally would have fit his character here.)
The actor was probably like, "Is Rocket serious and stupid all of a sudden or is this his trademark sarcasm?"

@@KaminariHouse To be fair, when you first fight Ultron-Sigma in Story Mode, he is INVINCIBLE as you can't truly defeat him (he either kicks your a** or he kicks your a** in the same cutscene if you somehow manage to lower him to 1/4 of his HP Bar). So, when Iron Man and Spencer weakened him followed by Thanos beating the stuffing out of him and cracking the Reality Stone, he was knocked off his high horse because he was FINALLY injured for the first time in his merged existence.
It must be nice for Spencer to get some payback on Ultron-Sigma for the humiliating defeat he and Thor suffered against him.

To me it seems like they tried to make Arthur into the Gimli of MVCi, but the main thing is they failed to give him any kind of redeeming moment that could counter all the roasting he got from other characters so he just looked like a loser.
It's sad too cause I like Arthur.
@@KaminariHouse: I'm going to be honest. This story mode is the first time i've seen Arthur. The whole time i was like "He is going to shut their mouths by doing something really crazy and somehow important." but they kept him down instead.
Since watching that stream, i've investigated how is Arthur on his own games and now i'm even more mad that he didn't got his "underdog" badass moment.
If only they just had him outright say 'I cannot make the jump you'll have to toss me.'
Arthur has gone to hell and back, dozens of times to rescue the Princess and this is what he gets in return.

Also Ryu and Hulk being buds was such an awesome idea that they hardly ever utilized.
Chris Falcon True. Capcom’s fighting games nowadays are pretty much the antithesis to Nintendo’s mantra.
It’s a shame that this story mode has some really cool ideas but weren’t utilized to their greatest potential. Like the merging of Ultron and Sigma, both are completely ruthless schemers, devious, absolutely insane and damn powerful that it seemed like a good idea to combine the two, and his character design is really cool combining the two villains into one entity. Only to be completely generic as a serious threat.
So Firebrand and Dormammu being in this game.....let's talk. Someone told me Firebrand isn't exactly a villain so I did some research. And considering Firebrand is working with the villains, you'd think Firebrand was forced to do this. The story could've done something like having Firebrand and Arthur team up to take down Dormammu when the worlds were merged, only for Jedah to beat the crap out of them all, and threathen Firebrand to join them otherwise they'd kill off the rest of Firebrand's...species.
Apparently Firebrand is seen as a hero to his people so if they went with this, they could've made Firebrand more interesting to the people who didn't want him in the game...like myself and Max.
Oh and apparently, Firebrand's homeworld has crests that could be a unique parallel to the Infinity Stones.
Its just really odd for the story, him and Dormammu are glorified mooks and don't appear ever again.
Yeah, basically Firebrand is an enemy in Ghost N Goblins but he’s the main character of the spin off series Demon’s Crest/Gargoyle’s Quest
Firebrand is as you said the Hero of demonkind, a particually powerful Red Arremer (which I believe the Japanese version just uses as his name as opposed to Firebrand)
Personally, he's one of my favourite additions in UMVC3 and if I played MVCI i'd main him for sure, but yeah, they did him and Dormammu so dirty in this game it hurts.
Firebrand is a hero and leader of his species, but he is by no means an ally to mankind. He definitely would never ally with Dormammu though as he's pretty much one of the most evil and destructive entities in all of marvel comics which is saying something, and FB isn't a character who would ever bend over to threats under any condition.
If anything I could only really see him using the opportunity to conquer enemy land with his army, but I don't think there's any characters outside morrigan in MvC:I he could really ally with. Definitely a legacy vs. character though as he was a boss character in SVC:chaos.

They really did Dormmamu dirty here, this is Dormammu we're talking about. One of the really high tier villains in Marvel....plus he's in his own realm at the time. And they make him a JOBBER?

@@ZeroAoAnimations Yeah pretty much. They told Capcom who they could and who they couldn't add, but the majority of the actual funding for the game came from Capcom's fighting game division.

The problem with Arthur being in the story is that he wasn't implemented well. He doesn't throw anything, his animations are completely wrong, and his armor doesn't even make ANY sound when he moves. It's crazy honestly. They didn't even try to make him fitting, they just tried to include him like they did with Spencer.
MvC3 cutscenes did an amazing job because they portrayed characters well without them even speaking. Arthur did what he was supposed to do and he had goofy, funny animations that worked well for a cartoon body man. This is half of Rocket's problem too, but Rocket is just ugly as sin and Groot is just ABSENT.

Morrigan trying to reason with Jedah makes no god damn sense for the following reasons:
1) she says the stone corrupted Jedah as if he hasnt always been a grade a bastard
2) Morrigan is also a horrible murderer so why the hell does she even care about whats happening
3) Strange, Ghost Rider, Arthur and arguably Dante, actual heroes, just stand there the whole time, knowing who both of these terrible people are, doing nothing
Morgan is not a horrible murderer since in most versions she doesn't even kill anyone and few versions that do is because she was never meant to be a regular succubus
Oh it’s makes less sense, Morrigan kill count is debatable mainly because she like playing with people and her win quotes in Darkstalker always suggest she let them live so she live again. But her calling Jedah lord Jedah makes less sense since she should be the lord of the Makai, even worse than that is everyone know how crazy Jedah and don’t trust him in power of anything.
Morrigan likes playing around in the human world. I don't think she'd want one of her main locations for thrill seeking to just die out.
Also jedah was always a dock but she acts like we wasn't but it's the stone
Morrigan's personality has been all over the place in the various Darkstalkers media, but from what I remember, in the games themselves she's more a bored immortal looking for kicks than any sort of vicious killer.

There's a lot wrong here so I'll talk about the Dormammu/Firebrand fight.
One of the greatest travesties of this story mode is not being able to choose your characters when there are more than 2 people around. They could have done a thing similar to Super Smash Brothers Brawl's Subspace Emissary and have the player choose among those available for who to play as. There also was an opportunity for two fights here. The player could have chosen two characters to fight Jedah and two characters to fight Dormammu/Firebrand. They also could have taken the time to create more 'minions' like some kind of demon for the player to fight. Then that would have created some interesting strategy in this mode where the player would decide who they wanted and where.
There's other stuff wrong with story mode too but this sort of thing would have made the overall story mode experience way more fun.
It would be sick as hell if they added Nero in the next MVC. He would be the perfect replacement for spencer

There are about 6 evil/brainwashed Zero alter egos they could have chosen. Instead, they made up a new alter ego who dies in 1 meaningless fight, never to be seen again.

Why does Max say that Arthur shouldn't have been in the game? Ghost n Goblins is an iconic Capcom game, and Demon Crest.

@@brandonwilliams6119 I would say that they should've taken a page from Project X Zone's book and give Arthur actual human proportions so he would at least MVCI's art style, but Arthur being smol is a part of his identity that even if they'd done it, it would still be weird.

I do like X’s speech on Knowmoon about not being sure he’s ready or worthy to wield and infinity stone. Also I am angry they don’t make Zero call himself Omega, in reference to his OG body’s new name in the Mega Man Zero games.

We love heckling Hawkeye for just being a dude with a bow but honestly, he can take out 50 of the drones with 1 arrow each while Stark and Spencer have to do wild combos just to get 2 down in the same amount of time, mans deserves more credit

It's always weird to me that Firebrand in his games (and specially in Demon's Crest) is treated like a badass warrior who beats the strongest in the demon realm but in other games including this one he acts more like a deranged imp who loves to cause mischief.
This is probably the best english morrigan voice, and that's sad.
1:41 I still think this was a HUGE missed opportunity to include Lilith in this scene. If Morrigan in this game is still the version that experienced Vampire Savior's events, then she should have Lilith's soul absorbed into her soul.
As such, MVC1, she is able to call upon Lilith to assist her with attacks. If she was a part of Morrigan's interaction with Ghost Rider, it would have been a great callback to Marvel vs. Capcom 1!!

Gamora is technically an assassin, and real ninja used guns all the time- more that melee combat if they had a choice. Their arsenal was very diverse. So I guess she could be considered ninja-like.

Yeah, didn't the writers say Mega Man X and Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers were supposed to be the protagonists of the game...only to be overshadowed by Dante and Iron Man? At least X got the Infinity Buster, Carol's fine but just a standard leader.
All the UMvC3 music makes this game so much better. Cutting between "serious" cutscenes and character themes from UMvC3 is just so damn good

18:19 - Behold, Batgod Syndrome at its most indulgent. Ultron Sigma, wielding two Infinity Stones, got his shit wrecked by Thanos WHO HAD NONE. The main villain of our story just got schooled by a side character, a side character who was apparently so bad ass he was able to CRACK one of those fucking rocks of ultimate power! And remember, Thanos just leaves later on only to be seen again in a post credits scene. If you were able to take this seriously before this point, well, you ain't taking it seriously now.

It doesn't make sense that Ultron *himself* beat Thanos before he fused with Sigma, and then later, Thanos beats Ultron Sigma.
Back in "Thanos Quest" (Sept.-Oct. 1990, by Jim Starlin and Ron Lim), Thanos managed to defeat the Champion of the Universe (supposed to be the greatest fighter in the Marvel Universe) while the Champion was juiced up with the Power stone. True, Thanos was a God-Mode Sue in that comic, and for a supposed great fighter everyone and their mother has beaten the Champion (and he won by trickery rather than straight fighting). But the fact is that, according to canon, Thanos can go toe to toe with someone using an Infinity Stone and win.
