Geese Howard alone teaches us you can't keep a big bad man with connections and time on his hands down. You can knock him off the top of his building, but he'll just come back and build another tall building.

I remember the first time I got to God Rugal. He moped the floor with the team that got me there and the second team I picked. Then I went "Bah, whatever. Why pick someone I'm good with if he's kicking my ass anyway?" and put Dan in the front of my team. Then, a miracle happened... a miracle of Saikyo. Rugal not only fell in body before the might of the strongest style, but got crushed in spirit, unable to withstand the intensity of the man's taunts.

Recomendations for every AI character in the game on hardest dificulty, in case anyone wants to spend 8 months trying to beat the damn game like me lol:
1.- Never try to jump over Sagat
2.- Sweep Nakoruru on his ground dash, it's unsafe. And after that, jump at her and punish her wake up.
3.- Anti-Air Sakura ALL THE FUCKING TIME
4.- Jump MK on Geese. 50/50 on a counter hit or a counter grab, this last one will be followed up by short short sweep and you can wake up anything and not trade. Also, with full super, you will most likely hit him before he uses Raging Storm. He only uses his Deadly Rave every 1/100 matches aproximately.
5.- Blanka does double back dash and then goes into either straight ball or up-ball. When he's close, he will do electricity.He rarely grabs
6.- Kyo and Ryo will block fireballs and get stuck blocking from full screen. But Ryo will use Fireball super as soon as he gets full bar. Also, don't empty jump Ryo. His DP is the best in the game.
7.- Kyosuke will always try to punish you with either Cross-Cutter Super (30% chance) or his aerial super (70% chance) This last one mostly never hits even if you're not blocking, because of the start-up and since it's not a reversal.
8.- Benimaru will get close and either get a Super Grab or do standing short twice and then sweep. Far enough and he will jump and drill. Anti-air him with anything.
9.- Ken will do jab DP and then Strong DP even when not close to you.
10.- Ryu will most likely Fierce DP you when close or in his wake up.
11.- Vega is a bitch.
12.- Balrog will block every fireball like Kyo and Ryo. He will do straight dash and then sweep. Highly punishable on both cases.
13.- Bison will NEVER do Psycho Crusher Super. Will do either double jab into Devil's Reverse or into Scissor Kick super. Also, he can be exploited with Jumping HK and he can be DP'ed on his wake up up to 2 times before he blocks.
14.- Zangief and Raiden can only be attacked safely with jumping MK at max range. Closer than that if they blocked it, they will command grab you. Zangief jumps over Fireballs while Raiden blocks them but he can do special dash.
15.- Normal Akuma can be exploited with Jumping HK and he gets stunned after 4 straight hits.
16.- Terry will ALWAYS DO SOMETHING. Either will start the match with Power Wave, Crack shoot or Burning Knuckle. He can always be punished but his pressure is GATLIEK.
17.- Todoh can be exploited with jHK as well. But time it correctly or the Air barrage will trade. And when you get him in the corner, DP as fuck!
18.- Shin Akuma will pretty much punish your everything. However, you can wake up and it will hit 80% of the time without trading. If he has super, he will most likely DESTROY your super with his. Finest KO. He can do Wake-Up Demon when pressured too much. But the WORST thing he does it that he gets you in a jab short block string and in the block stun he will do Misogi, and it will ALWAYS kill you, even from chip
19.- Vice eats projectiles for breakfast, but be careful. She always does shit.
20.- Morrigan will always do projectile, but jumping her Soul Fist will result in her DP'ing you. You need to guess the projectile and punish her in her recovery. She will always do the off-screen super.
21.- God Rugal is the bitchiest, as Max says HE HAS BARELY ANY RECOVERY AND HIT STUN! He CAN however be exploited by Jumping HK, up to 2 or 3 times, BUT...the hit stun is so low that you must do it almost touching the ground. Or he will punish you with Genocide Cutter while you're still in the air. He will also try to do Dark Barrier on your wake up for pressure, but you can wake up anything to beat it. You can play the projectile game but IT WILL ACTUALLY CHANGE DEPENDING ON THE CHARACTER SELECT. From Ratio 1 Ryu he will always do Reppuken two times against your Hadokens and then he will get close to you either from Ashura Senku or the Groove Dash. HOWEVER, From a Ratio 4 Evil Ryu, he will do Kaisser Wave two time THEN get close. Tatsus in the air are useless, he will punish it with the air special move or Genocide Cutter if on the Ground. He is vulnerable to moves and supers with High Invincibility start up Frames. But he will either trade with Genocide Cutter Super or Ashura Senku. Also, he will try to beat your normals ON REACTION with Genocide Cutter Super. He will almost never do God's End Super. And his Raging Demon only does it when very close.
Anything else I'll be adding for fun. I do keep playing it every day UNTIL I DEFEAT THE MOTHERFUCKING SURVIVAL MODE!

Incidentally... Rock is amazing..though I still favor Terry. Of all my fighting game favs, it will always be Terry. Not simply because he's a complete fighter (which mechanically he is, bordering on cheap) but because he's incredibly human. Except that movie...where he pretty much flips his shit and kills a god.
Rugal's Dark Smash permanently confounds Shin Akuma and God Rugal. They don't know how to handle it, especially if you do it jumping back. They will always jump into it or just get hit by it without trade.

This is still my favorite Boss Rage ever. And will always be one of my favorite fighting game related vids of all time. On top of a classic game, with a tough secret boss unlock and fight. The editing itself was damn near perfect in this vid. And the ending bit with I Need A Hero set to the backdrop of Max's journey to beat God Rugal? Fucking brilliant.

On a random note, all of Max shenanigans aside, CvS2 is just such a beautiful fighting game to me. From the announcers, to the OST, to the visual designs. Just a great fighting game from every aspect.

This is still my favorite boss rage. Part of that is a bit of bias on my part because I love Street Fighter, I love King of Fighters, and I definitely love Capcom vs. SNK 2! But in addition to that I love the quick editing, the music, and even the news segment. Just everything about this video is awesome! I love it!

People complaining about it don't understand that Boss Rage is not about the gameplay, it's about the rage and the crying and the "wtf-ing".
Max puts out unedited, relatively "calm" gameplay pretty much everyday. Boss Rage is the only loud and over the top show, and that's how I like it.

For those of you complaining that you don't like these overhyped videos with his acting segments that Max puts quote "2 Months" into... guess what, he does regular videos of him fighting too. If you don't like these fine, go watch those. But some people find these entertaining and just plain fun to watch.
People should be glad he could put up anything since his computer crashed and he had to reedit all over again. But people don't care about that,they want their boss rage. Shameful.
I agree. This kind of video is what sets him apart from all the other guys on youtube. It's great that he has so much passion for fighting games all kinds. He openly admits he's not that good and it took him 38 tries to beat Ultimate Rugal. So even if it was all about gameplay people would still complain and say he isn't good. With videos like this he can appeal to a wide range audience without having to try to show he's an expert at the game.

Shao Kanh is a total puss. His AI patterns are so abusable (even more than in older games, especially in Deception, when he became an ordinary fighter). Never understood all this fuss about him, being monstrously hard. KoF big bads and Parace on the other hand...
Yeah Shao is just a game of Simon Says once you learn his patterns. Jump here, duck here, punish after this, etc. Haven't played the other games though.

Max is fan of Capcom, Rugal is from SNK, no chance to get 10/10 ^^
@@EnriqueVivancoH the ridiculous amount of requirements to get to the Oni is fucking crazy, and you only get one shot at him. When you get to Rugal, you get all the chances you can to learn and predict his attacks, despite his one shot super bs kills. Not only that you have to only get 1k points to get to him, which you can build in 3 matches if you're playing smart enough with combos and defensive attacks. The only difficulty in this was dealing with the BS A.I. that literally kept forcing him to reset. If you play Ultra Street fighter 4 you'll learn that it is EXTREMELY HARD to even get to seth with the amount of requirements you already need beforehand to possibly get to oni. You can't lose a single round, 2 perfects, 5 first attacks, 5 super/ultra finishes and you have to beat seth with an ultra. Plus the auto counter bs AI is super good in USF4, because of invincibility frames. It is much harder to get to and beat Oni than god Rugal overall, since in other exploits, you can literally Hodouken your way through all the A.I to get to him. While in USF4, the stages are small, and the mobility of characters are insanely fast in that game when the cpu is offensive. There is no gimmicks or an easy way to get to oni. You just have to be good at street fighter.
As a beginner fan of Capcom, and since this is the crossover with Capcom graphics, I'd give this Boss Rage a 11/10

***** I apologise for ruining your dream, but it is not possible for Rock Howard to appear in any canonical KoF game.
You see, SNK pulled a nasty trick with KoF series back in 1995: they stated that the characters featured in KoFs do not age. Why is it so awful? Because it means that every Fatal Fury game past Fatal Fury 3 (which came out the same year as KoF'95) is non-canon in KoF series continuity. Thus, the events of Real Bout Fatal Fury (1996 - Geese Howard dies, Terry Bogard takes care of little Rock) and Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999 - Rock is 17 years old) are ignored - it's like a branching tree, with one branch being Real Bout/Garou and another one being KoF.
This is why Rock is only playable in Fatal Fury games (Garou: Mark of the Wolves, maybe Garou 2 - if they release the friggin' game), crossover titles (CvS2) or non-canon spin-offs (KoF: Maximum Impact, Maximum Impact 2/Regulation A, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum).
