Well, its not just the original, its been in every MH game. The only one that doesnt is World, where the BBQ time was shortened. But the Handler does tell you “That looks so tasty” the first time you ever do it.

Richard Grieco was a badass as Ghost Rider in MvC3 AND the Marvel cartoons...F4 and Hulk to be exact...but his voice in MvC3 sounds closer to the former than the latter bc in his fight with the Hulk he used a different filter.
This game shows more how important sound is to supers as well. The sound is so much less meaty than in MVC3 where every hit bashes your heart with sound.

Maybe even Firebrand and Arthur. Have them duking it out and the enemy gets caught in the crossfire similar to Spiderman's level 3 Venom and Spiderman. Gamora and Rocket. X/Zero and Sigma. Any of the Avengers and Ultron. With this tag team dynamic instead of 3v3, there was so much potential for little easter eggs in the supers or just their interactions mid-match

Jesuschrist, the voice acting in this game lacks soul. It's like the director didn't give any instruction to the actors and went with the first take of each line.
Apparently it's the same director as in umvc3. I blame time crunching and lack of resources. They had an amazing cast, but either the script was bland, and they kept using first takes for all of them. It's pretty bad.
Hulk's level 3 should've been a command grab where he repeatedly smashes them into the ground like he did to Loki in the Avengers. Edit: 666 likes! Okay guys, nobody else like this comment.
Same. For a level 5, I'd give him his Worldbreaker power-up. Amping up his strength but at the price. That being his health reduced to all red in 10 seconds or less. Big reward but major risk.
I swear they've never known how to use hulks power in a cinematic way ever. It always feels weak for a guy who is strong enough to blow up a planet. Like if hulk grab you, slammed you back and forth like in the First avengers, looks at ya, and instead of one final slam, he hopes super high up and body slams you with a huge particle ground gamma explosion would be relatively simple and still really sell hulks power

Thinking back on the Bucky/Steve Ultimate combo, how come they couldn’t implement more duo specials with specific characters? I would’ve loved to see more like for instance Zero/X, Jedah/Morrigan, Hawkeye/Widow, Ryu/Chun-Li, Hulk/Thor, etc. Would’ve been awesome.
There is a decently reasonable leak (can't remember if it was ever debunked) which said that Capcom gave the team a ridiculously small budget (leak said "half of SFV's DLC budget", not even that of the full game, just the DLC). It is also speculated that Disney put on a lot of restrictions on their characters. I believe the team really did want to make a great game but had to work with what they had, and well, at least the gameplay is great! lol

Jay Morales I just saying mainly because they’re both from Darkstalkers (the only 2 now I believe since Felicia was cut). Just because they never have and don’t want to work together doesn’t mean there isn’t any type of correlation between them. Same could be said about other pairs of characters from other team-concept games. (Edit: Also I’m not the first to suggest Morrigan and Jeddah as a pair up in this game. Many other in Max’s comments and other YT’s vids have made notice of this as well.)
Would have been even more sick if they went beyond just characters from the same franchise. If they had given us team up supers from characters who would’ve probably been friends in the crossover universe that would’ve been wild.
You would think for balance and just overrall fairness every character would have 3 supers would be a requirement. Seems like it would be part of the creating a character template

Yeah, its pretty hard to do a level 3 for hulk. Tbh they could of made him go into world breaker hulk and just punch the shit out of you so hard that theres a giant explosion, or possibly do the same except he smashes something over your head (Possibly two car fists? (Aka two halves of a car on his fists))
Zachery Hansen could have ripped off doomsday or had him slam you into the ground repeatedly then throw you in the air and finish it off with a jumping double hammer fist to spike you into the ground. A character being Brute force doesn’t hinder what you can do with them. Anyone saying otherwise is just a lazy fuck.

Star Falchion Actually, a lot of the problems with the cast missing was the fault of Disney. As for the rest, the budget for this game wasn’t super high.
I just wish that X’s level 3 was instead the Nova Strike from Project X Zone 2 because I love the impact and how it implies X destroys his Ultimate Armor just to take down the opponent.
Honestly, what I think a few of these level 3s lack is that iconic/“I’ll remember that 5 years later” factor. There’s stand outs like Monster Hunter, Cap/Bucky, Ryu, but there’s also some hella generic ones like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Widow. Like I could sub Marvel out with someone with similar powers like Nova and it has the same effect. Widow, Chun Li, and Bucky’s base ones are just beat-em ups. But I remember Marvel 3 was just ripe with iconic level 3s. Ghost Rider’s penance stare was fucking insane. Dormammu still takes you to another demension, so dos Shuma’Gorath. Phoenix Wright sends you to jail. Akuma and his Raging Demon. Hawkeye and Antman. Rocket Racoon, while Groot was a cool inclusion, I just don’t think has as much “wow” as burying you and dropping a nuke then flying out Die Hard style. Wesker had the beat-up effect but with teleportation and a missile from RE5, Haggar’s suplex was amazing, and Vergil had a great one with his Yamato/phantom swords. Deadpool being Deadpool and breaking the fourth wall while also being a counter-super, Wolverine’s beserker barrage, Super Skrull’s “Are you having fun yet?”, Doom sitting in his chair, Felicia and her kitty helper barrage, Magneto’s squeeze. Even some of the buff/non cinematic level 3/ conveyed unique characters like Jill’s movement options, Firebrand’s helper, Dark Phoenix in all her horror. They’re pretty freaking iconic. Marvel 3 I remember hella clearly the level 3s because they were phenomenal when they wanted to be. They had the identity of the character in them- Infinite just doesn’t quite compare. There’s more flash, but less individuality. I can replace Widow with Gamora, Monster Hunter, or outside female characters like Elektra and Jill and it would be the same effect. That’s around a third of all level 3s in the game. But Marvel 3, the supers had flash and suited that character. Jill’s hyper form doesn’t have many parallels. Neither does Doom, Skrull, Magneto, Vergil, Felicia, Akuma, and the rest. The supers were iconic in that game.
Fr, I played MvC3 when I was in like 4th grade and I remember the supers of my favorite characters to this day. (Spider-Man, Deadpool, Dante, Zero, and Iron Man specifically)
Is it just me or do some characters actually talk WAY too much in their supers. It's painstakingly annoying for me cause all I think when seeing the supers is "Please just shut up!"
Not that they sound bad, just their chatter distracts you from the beatdown. As well as wasting time for the line delivery to be right, especially when it would be faster not saying as much. Looking at you Frank West.
@Your Mom's Creepy Uncle It's strange cause I actually like comics and anime and I find that characters talking when they're doing their special attacks can be pretty epic if it was short or if it's directed towards the opponent. The supers in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite are kind of annoying cause it distracts me from the action cause some characters sound somewhat annoying and it has a not so very good cast of VAs.
The SO TASTY thing is a reference to older Monster Hunter games where everytime you use the BBQ split and perfectly time your cooking mini game, an arcade-y sound chimes in saying SOOOO TASTY! It's one of those "HEY SHE SAID THE THING" things.

Seems like the likely choice, but Power Geyser is another. HOWEVER, Ryu and Ken got two Final Smashes so Terry could likely be the same and I nominate Power Geyser and Buster Wolf. The Star Dunk Volcano is the most unlikely but it's also the one that appeared most recently via KOF XIV and his guest appearance in Fighting EX Layer... but I personally don't like that move very much lol (It's the reason Terry's Power Dunk move is gone xp) So yeah, (Triple) Power Geyser and Buster Wolf are the likely choices. Yea that’s a big part of it too. In umvc3 they had a lot of energy and enthusiasm and they sounded hype. Here just sounds like they wanted to just read their lines and get paid. And in my opinion, I don’t really agree with max saying that some of these are slightly better than the umvc3 version. I think that they are indeed more detailed with the beams and particle effects and all but doesn’t necessarily make it better. Some of the Umvc3 ones just overall seems better to me. But some are definitely better, like Hagar for example. And Of course with pc mods looks a lot better
That’s why I like Ben Diskin as Nova and Chris Tergliafera as Sigma, because they ham it up so much that it’s hard to not like. Honorable mention goes to David Kaye as Jedah and JYB as Zero.

Later!” I think that line is better than the other one in this video because the phrase “Let’s see you come back from this!” is a reference to his game where he kills the guy in the same way he does in his Level 3 in this game, except he kicks the guy off the building.

That's part of the charm of the VS games, IMO. It doesn't work very well in the story mode, but for general gameplay I love hearing the constant screaming of catchphrases and move names, and I'm not even joking.
Exactly. MvCI may have the higher rendering, but the lack of art direction and creativity kills it all. Having Dr. Strange astral project mystic bands around the opponent versus him just floating around you... It just looks so much weaker.
This. Dr Strange is the goddamn Master of the Mystic Arts, THE Sorcerer Supreme. They have SO much potential and material to work it (dropping the moon, alternate dimensions, you name it). And all he does is float around you with the speed of the turtle, with a mediocre pillar. I give Strange a 4/10

Just now getting to this video, and for what they could've done with Ghost Riders Penance Stare, I agree with that rating so much, could've shown an almost personal hell of the opponents sins and such.

I feel like it fit better, since the pre-animation's line had kind of a build-up feel to it, then when the attack was launched, you also felt it in the line. @@dcb99filmz Jump v capcom would be god like but the problem is who will be in it and the rights for music, characters, etc. Capcom rarely has this problem but with jump, it would be a mess. With so many, their will be some backlash on who hasn't been added. TvC2 would work cause they already had this agreement with both sides, with no known issues of licensing that I know of. Animation is done already unless they want to touch up on it and they can add more since it wasn't that big of a hardware taxing game (meaning it didn't take 20gb to download and play.) Network/ online is always a issue but it wasn't that bad on the wii surprisingly. TvC2 would be more likely to happen then jvc but it could happen with some hard work.

They made the game an avengers infinity war marketing tool instead of treating it like a game loved by its fan base. That’s why it failed, and that’s why it died. When I saw the infinity stones, captain marvel and thanos, I knew exactly what they were going for and I did not want to get the game but my dad insisted because we both love marvel vs capcom. In the end, we both were disappointed and I have never seen such disappointment in my dads face that day.

Thinking back on the Bucky/Steve Ultimate combo, how come they couldn’t implement more duo specials with specific characters? I would’ve loved to see more like for instance Zero/X, Jedah/Morrigan, Hawkeye/Widow, Ryu/Chun-Li, Hulk/Thor, etc. Would’ve been awesome.
There is a decently reasonable leak (can't remember if it was ever debunked) which said that Capcom gave the team a ridiculously small budget (leak said "half of SFV's DLC budget", not even that of the full game, just the DLC). It is also speculated that Disney put on a lot of restrictions on their characters. I believe the team really did want to make a great game but had to work with what they had, and well, at least the gameplay is great! lol

Jay Morales I just saying mainly because they’re both from Darkstalkers (the only 2 now I believe since Felicia was cut). Just because they never have and don’t want to work together doesn’t mean there isn’t any type of correlation between them. Same could be said about other pairs of characters from other team-concept games. (Edit: Also I’m not the first to suggest Morrigan and Jeddah as a pair up in this game. Many other in Max’s comments and other YT’s vids have made notice of this as well.)
Would have been even more sick if they went beyond just characters from the same franchise. If they had given us team up supers from characters who would’ve probably been friends in the crossover universe that would’ve been wild.

Zachery Hansen could have ripped off doomsday or had him slam you into the ground repeatedly then throw you in the air and finish it off with a jumping double hammer fist to spike you into the ground. A character being Brute force doesn’t hinder what you can do with them. Anyone saying otherwise is just a lazy fuck.

Honestly, what I think a few of these level 3s lack is that iconic/“I’ll remember that 5 years later” factor.
There’s stand outs like Monster Hunter, Cap/Bucky, Ryu, but there’s also some hella generic ones like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Widow. Like I could sub Marvel out with someone with similar powers like Nova and it has the same effect. Widow, Chun Li, and Bucky’s base ones are just beat-em ups.
But I remember Marvel 3 was just ripe with iconic level 3s. Ghost Rider’s penance stare was fucking insane. Dormammu still takes you to another demension, so dos Shuma’Gorath. Phoenix Wright sends you to jail. Akuma and his Raging Demon. Hawkeye and Antman. Rocket Racoon, while Groot was a cool inclusion, I just don’t think has as much “wow” as burying you and dropping a nuke then flying out Die Hard style. Wesker had the beat-up effect but with teleportation and a missile from RE5, Haggar’s suplex was amazing, and Vergil had a great one with his Yamato/phantom swords. Deadpool being Deadpool and breaking the fourth wall while also being a counter-super, Wolverine’s beserker barrage, Super Skrull’s “Are you having fun yet?”, Doom sitting in his chair, Felicia and her kitty helper barrage, Magneto’s squeeze. Even some of the buff/non cinematic level 3/ conveyed unique characters like Jill’s movement options, Firebrand’s helper, Dark Phoenix in all her horror. They’re pretty freaking iconic.
Marvel 3 I remember hella clearly the level 3s because they were phenomenal when they wanted to be. They had the identity of the character in them- Infinite just doesn’t quite compare. There’s more flash, but less individuality. I can replace Widow with Gamora, Monster Hunter, or outside female characters like Elektra and Jill and it would be the same effect. That’s around a third of all level 3s in the game. But Marvel 3, the supers had flash and suited that character. Jill’s hyper form doesn’t have many parallels. Neither does Doom, Skrull, Magneto, Vergil, Felicia, Akuma, and the rest. The supers were iconic in that game.
Fr, I played MvC3 when I was in like 4th grade and I remember the supers of my favorite characters to this day. (Spider-Man, Deadpool, Dante, Zero, and Iron Man specifically)

@Your Mom's Creepy Uncle It's strange cause I actually like comics and anime and I find that characters talking when they're doing their special attacks can be pretty epic if it was short or if it's directed towards the opponent. The supers in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite are kind of annoying cause it distracts me from the action cause some characters sound somewhat annoying and it has a not so very good cast of VAs.
The SO TASTY thing is a reference to older Monster Hunter games where everytime you use the BBQ split and perfectly time your cooking mini game, an arcade-y sound chimes in saying SOOOO TASTY! It's one of those "HEY SHE SAID THE THING" things.

Let's see, I've speculated that Terry's Final Smash could be three things:
- The Power Geyser or Triple Power Geyser (yeah, that's two, bare with me)
- Buster Wolf
- Star Dunk Volcano
I'm mostly thinking of Buster Wolf. Seems like the likely choice, but Power Geyser is another. HOWEVER, Ryu and Ken got two Final Smashes so Terry could likely be the same and I nominate Power Geyser and Buster Wolf. The Star Dunk Volcano is the most unlikely but it's also the one that appeared most recently via KOF XIV and his guest appearance in Fighting EX Layer... but I personally don't like that move very much lol (It's the reason Terry's Power Dunk move is gone xp)
So yeah, (Triple) Power Geyser and Buster Wolf are the likely choices. We'll have to see~

A lot of these are pretty decent tbh my issue is the voice actors really didn’t put any effort in their lines this time around and they end up sounding bored.
Yea that’s a big part of it too. In umvc3 they had a lot of energy and enthusiasm and they sounded hype. Here just sounds like they wanted to just read their lines and get paid. And in my opinion, I don’t really agree with max saying that some of these are slightly better than the umvc3 version. I think that they are indeed more detailed with the beams and particle effects and all but doesn’t necessarily make it better. Some of the Umvc3 ones just overall seems better to me. But some are definitely better, like Hagar for example. And Of course with pc mods looks a lot better
I mean, the backgrounds make me nauseous and the graphics are terrible, but these aren't as bad as they could be, really.
That’s why I like Ben Diskin as Nova and Chris Tergliafera as Sigma, because they ham it up so much that it’s hard to not like. Honorable mention goes to David Kaye as Jedah and JYB as Zero.

Imo his UMvC3 Lvl3 looked WAY BETTER than his MvCI counterpart.
Exactly. MvCI may have the higher rendering, but the lack of art direction and creativity kills it all. Having Dr. Strange astral project mystic bands around the opponent versus him just floating around you... It just looks so much weaker.
This. Dr Strange is the goddamn Master of the Mystic Arts, THE Sorcerer Supreme. They have SO much potential and material to work it (dropping the moon, alternate dimensions, you name it). And all he does is float around you with the speed of the turtle, with a mediocre pillar. I give Strange a 4/10

@@Lobothemainman23 I think Zero's also had better voice acting in MvC3. I feel like it fit better, since the pre-animation's line had kind of a build-up feel to it, then when the attack was launched, you also felt it in the line. In MvCI, however, it's the same intensity the whole way through, which kinda kills it for me.

Jump v capcom would be god like but the problem is who will be in it and the rights for music, characters, etc. Capcom rarely has this problem but with jump, it would be a mess. With so many, their will be some backlash on who hasn't been added. TvC2 would work cause they already had this agreement with both sides, with no known issues of licensing that I know of. Animation is done already unless they want to touch up on it and they can add more since it wasn't that big of a hardware taxing game (meaning it didn't take 20gb to download and play.) Network/ online is always a issue but it wasn't that bad on the wii surprisingly. TvC2 would be more likely to happen then jvc but it could happen with some hard work.

Sigma's voice is epic especially with "Bow down to me!" and Doctor Strange's "I am Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme!" with the tornado seem like the best although I wish it had his astral form. I hope Nova theme from UMvC3 comes back sometime, it's pretty much Guile's theme for me personally.

I so agree that a Spider-Man and Venom team super would've been amazing to see in this game.
They made the game an avengers infinity war marketing tool instead of treating it like a game loved by its fan base. That’s why it failed, and that’s why it died. When I saw the infinity stones, captain marvel and thanos, I knew exactly what they were going for and I did not want to get the game but my dad insisted because we both love marvel vs capcom. In the end, we both were disappointed and I have never seen such disappointment in my dads face that day.
In old monster hunter games if you cooked steak perfectly the game would yell “SO TASTY!”
