Never forget that in the MVC universe, Frank West canonically defeated Thanos
Frank is a GOD
In this game he was doing crack look at his face
He covered wars, you know?
Dragon Del Sur He ended the drug war by doing all of the drugs
"He's gonna kill me!"
Ironman sending Frank against Thanos is the best part of the game
So true
It sounded like a damn Pokémon battle, like "GO FRANK WEST"
He covered Wars you know
And tha Valkanda part
"You dare defy ME?!"
"Absolutely. Go get 'em, Frank!"
I'll be honest, that got a chuckle out of me
The best part about the line is that its absolutely in character with Tony Stark
half of ironman dialogue: "hes not wrong; the kid is right"
177O13 he’s not lying, that’s right actually
Much as it hurts to say it, he’s not lying, the guys right
*raises arms*
_why are we doing this again?_
*snappy one liner*
*another snappy one liner*
*hilariously derailing one liner*
*sardonic one liner*
10/10 dialogue
X: This city is a grave.
Deadpool: Probably because all the developers forgot what an NPC is.
LMAO true
So that's why they didn't add him...
@@Joker-dn5xs
He would’ve snarked his way entirely through
Deadpool: “Alright Guys! Time to start shrugging and stare forward no matter what!”

"Christ dante what happened to your face?"
Can we talk about how A+++ the story would have been if Deadpool was taking the piss out of EVERYTHING?
Not only does Zero have no dialogue, he didn't even get beaten by Thanos, was just hanging out on the floor with everyone else.
Zero could probably beat Thanos, especially if it's his Megaman Zero version.
@@danielmaster8776 Depends on which Zero actually, if it is Movie Universe Thanos then maybe? Comic Thanos? nah.
“X and Zero don’t need more dialogue, the fans will be happy that they’re even in the game! Hell, they should be grateful that we even acknowledged them!”
-Capcom probably
More like:
Comic Book Writer #1: "So capcom said we had to put these two in the story. How're we supposed to use these two?"
Comic Book Writer #2: "How should I know!? I've never played a videogame! Just push em' to the side and have a few interactions with the annoying characters."
Comic Book Writer #1: "Ok but people seem to kinda like them. Shouldn't we give them something?"
Comic Book Writer #2: "I don't care, just give the Blue one a super cannon that kills the bad guy or somethin! I have to get back to writing Iron Man and that Dante guy high-fiving!"
You know Capcom wasn't in charge of the story, right? It was Marvel.
Do any of you guys knows that the story mode of this game was written for someone who never wrote a comic book in his life? Right?
The story of this game was wrote by Paul Gardner, he is not a marvel's writer and never was.
It feels like Zero is only here because he was in UMVC3 and it was easy to reuse his model. He might as well as not have been in the story mode at all. He doesn't even say anything to Ultron-Sigma.
Just realized this should have been "Avengers vs Capcom"
"Marketing Vs. Capcom: Infinite"

How about "Marvel Infinite ft. Capcom" cause the roster has more Marvel Characters than the Capcom Characters.

I love how Sigma is X’s arch enemy but X is not plot relevant at all
Gameplay Sigma is brilliant. Story Sigma is terrible.
Neither is sigma lol
Jake Tylenol oh the irony
Same goes for Zero as well; despite being Sigma’s archenemy, Zero has no involvement on the story, he’s just there. Also in the comics Hank Pym AKA Ant-Man was the creator of Ultron who before he existed Hank went crazy with suicidal thoughts and that craziness went to Ultron. So you think they’d bring him into the game, especially since Ant Man was taken out of Hawkeye’s Level 3 Super for this game!
@@TheSuperSmashBros01 The problem is that MvCI with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's influence would have brought Scott Lang version of Ant-Man instead of Hank Pym
“The Satsui no Hado has conquered gods and demons...” There is only one god that has fought fighters with the Satsui no Hado. Was that a Asura’s Wrath reference?
I guess that would be second one since Thanos did say “gods”.
@k Collins Also, Akuma is able to fight Gill in Street Fighter III and Street Fighter V, as well as God Rugal in Capcom VS SNK 2.
I saw some people arguing it was a reference to MvC3, with Amaterasu being playable.
I love how Rocket tells Gamora not to trust Thanos... her adoptive father. That she’s known since she was a child.
“Wow! Thanks Rocket, I had no idea.”
I'm not super well versed in Marvel stuff anymore but when I heard/saw that even I stopped and thought ,"...wait, isn't she... And Thanos is... Huh?"

djpegao The entire time I was hoping Ultron Sigma would appear in form of a car and ran him over.
Aight, Thanos about to throw a Gohadoken is unironically the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Like why wasn’t that main premise of the story
just like all X games, Sigma's "super" form involve his giant face just cause.
Also Ultron explained earlier Sigma's form looked too human and Sigma kind of agreed, so thats why Ultron Sigma looks way more like Ultron. But at the end they just forget about that and it looks like a Sigma human head again.

Not gonna lie, I still like Frank alot in this Story,

He's a happy medium between what he was like in DR4 and Off The Record. He's a scummy reporter but not a complete shit stain of a human. Still would've liked if he was more like how he was in the first game since he seems to be designed around that one but I'll settle for a more OTR version of him.

"Nobody died"
Bare minimum a million people died to fuel the symbiote monster, and some scientists on that ship Ryu and Dr. Banner were on.
Never mind how empty these worlds are. Either every civilian is just hiding or there were some big wipeouts.
So no one that the audience gives a shit about. It would've been so cool if they pulled a MUA where characters that didn't end up being playable show up getting their assess kicked by the main villain, it would have that "oh shit this fucking asshole" type of moment. But no, no one.

Infinite's story had literally every right to be good considering the characters at the game's disposal
It was such a letdown and contributed to why the presentation in general is just so weak for such a high profile fighting game and what preceded it
Infinite's Story feels like "What if Infinity War didn't balance the character's roles properly." Remember all the conversations about "How the HELL are they going to have so many character's a single movie?" But then the movie came out and it was fine. Infinite's writers had a bunch of characters and just didn't know how to use them properly. So they shoved them into situations hamfistedly, made almost every single one of them crack one-liner references to their game and then left. Not a single character in the game had an arc.
You could take a random MUGEN roster and make the exact same story. "We're facing a Shadow Queen. Hey Paper Mario, didn't you have to face a Shadow Queen before?" "Shadow Queen? As long as she's nothing like the Dark Queen" - Says Rash the Battletoad. "Bazinga!" *canned laughter*
IMO rather than even do the whole convergence thing, I feel like if they acted like the Capcom characters existed in the Marvel universe naturally and maybe build a story around iconic villains coming together to wreck shit it could’ve been decent. The character combinations made sense to a degree (I love the idea of Ghost Rider being the straight man to Dante’s cocky and woohoo pizza man attitude, or how AIM and Umbrella are all one evil corporation), but they don’t do enough of it.
Shinius Paper Mario: “Hey Pit from Kid Icarus, long time no see!”
Pit: “Hi Paper Mario from Nintendo’s Paper Mario series. We gotta stop the Shadow Queen who has double teamed with the Juggernaut from the X-Men series.”
@headphonesintheclouds I couldn't agree more. Infinites story was very akwardly presented and fell flat on how it delivered. Gameplay-wise Infinite is actually pretty good and deserves credit for what it gets right but the story should have been a blockbuster of epic proportions considering the characters they had to work with. I think in the right hands the story could have at least been on par with Injustice and Mortal Kombat. MVCI has a good roster for the most part but there are a few characters I would have swapped out and me being a big X-Men and Fantastic 4 fan kinda bummed me out that there were no Marvel characters from those properties.
Most people use "low budget" as an argument as for why it sucked, but I disagree with it. Low Budget isn't an excuse for making bad stuff in videogame. Look at a lot of indie games, most of them have at least 1/100 of the big cinematic titles production costs and still can deliver a far more satisfying experience.
This game was just an attempt to make a MCU videogame before the Endgame hype burned out. Budget wasn't the problem, but everything else was. Poor management, awful storytelling, the only saving grace is the gameplay, but even then, what Infinite does, Battle For the Grid does better.
Ebony & Ivory are comically large as hell
Guess Dante has a plus size fetish then
to be fair they're also incredibly huge in dmc 3 but then again, this game came out like 12 years later so there's no excuse lmao
Comically large guns
@@ziggyberts so they can be viewed well in gameplay but in the cinematic story it looks odd
Dante’s compensating apparently despite radiating big dick energy
I just noticed somethin. Groot is in Rockets special attack but not in any cut scenes. He could have just been in the background but nope
The only two Guardians in this story are Rocket and Gamora, a comedy relief with no one to effectively bounce off and a no-nonsense warrior chick who barely talks outside of the few scenes she actually gets. And even in those she doesn't demonstrate enough personality besides being buds with Strider.
I was thinking the same thing while watching
probably cuz of Budget. He could've immobilized Zero so X could finish Zero off with the Guardian gun and the Mega Buster.
@@sxwriter8569 I mean they already made the character model
It's like Groot was added to the moveset after the story was established.
Fun fact: The writer for this game, Paul Gardner, was the lead designer of Crash Twinsanity. No, I'm not joking. He literally never wrote anything for Marvel or Capcom before this. And this was the guy they choose to write this game's story.
Also, what does "we honor the dead" mean? Who died? Is there a graveyard filled with X-Men and Fantastic Four characters somewhere?
Do you have a source for that? What's the Twinsanity guy doing on MvC?
I refuse to believe that because Twinsanity is consistently and genuinely hilarious in the good way
All the dead NPCs we never saw. Which means there are around 30 people remaining across 2 universes, I guess.
Did Paul Gardner believe that Ryu was a scientist?
@@Chadiusbut…couldn’t the Soul stone revive them???
God Dante’s character in this game is so bad lmao. I know Reuben Langdon tried his best, but sometimes good voice acting can’t save a bad script
Can't polish a turd. The voice direction was also kind weird for him sometimes too.
Pretty sure Reuben didn't like how Dante looked
@@KaminariHouse reading your comment made me read it in Jeff Dunham' s voice because of one of his jokes 😂😂
Yeah they really made Dante seem stupid in a lot of the scenes of story mode he only makes like one good call in it.
Crimson Demon ikr. He’s just such a clown in this game
I'm still saying that "satsui no thanos" or thanos with the "satsui no gauntlet" whatever you wanna call it should have been a secret boss...
pretty sure they planned a story dlc or a direct sequel, i mean, the 2 universe still fused and that cliffhanger are very obvious..
i always secretely hoped MvCI could be "fixed" like they did with SF5 in the end, but at this point i just hope they scrap everything and gives us a proper MvC4
@@Uaitdevil If Capcom didn't drop MvCI as soon as the second quarter statistics came in it could of been saved. If they had just powered through and kept releasing characters at an aggressive rate it could of slowly built itself up to a respectable level. However, the execs behind this project on both the Marvel and Capcom side would of had to fight for that, and something tells me they didn't love this project enough to fight for it. Or at all. The lack of care and love put into this is very apparent.

"Perhaps a kiss will wake the sleeping prince."
"Alright, Thor...pucker up."
Even now this game has an exchange or two that makes me laugh when they're actually trying to make me laugh. Granted, in this case it's more in Spider-Man's delivery of the line than the line itself.
FlashNeko417 completely agree
The art direction kills me. Every "big" guy is a massive lump of beef with a pronated neck and Captain America's sticky-outy ears are silly.
The characters are modelled for 2d in-gameplay appearance and not for cinematics. For example Spiderman looks completely fine during gameplay with his weird battle pose (he pretty much just kept his MvC3 model with a new texture), but in cinematics when walking while standing straight he has this super huge torso and shoulders. Same with Cap who supposed to have this turtling pose in fight, but he just has pretty much no neck when standing straight.
Similar is the case to SFV where the characters look fine in gameplay but they look weird in the cinematic story mode. They have large hands and feet and chunky bodies to give better visual indications when fighting, but when just walking around casually in a city they look very out of place.
Capcom should either use different models for cinematics or just stop giving them so much attention altogether.
"Pronated" is the $10 word for today.
Hell, even Spidey is just talking trap muscles
@@noodleknight7924 Cap does not look good in 2d gameplay, really
@@noodleknight7924 Well, a lot of "beefcake" characters in media look like that. There's a reason though, I feel: regular big just don't cut it.
In reality, these characters would look insane (like those stupidly huge bodybuilders), or just be impossible. But in fiction, it just works.
The more you increase the muscle mass/definition of a character, the more they make sense, even if they're superhuman/alien/etc (like Superman).
But here, it's weird, too much even. It looks the worst on Spidey though because he's pretty slim, but then his ginormous traps look like they're trying to escape his body.
I think the other problem is that because there are so many of them in one spot, it becomes too much.
Infinity Buster is also sick af. Too bad they don't build up X's character at all.
Dante's fake "betrayal" is so weirdly presented, it doesn't make sense as even being possible. In fact, the whole thing with him grabbing the soul stone and talking about it's power is such a Vergil thing that I can't help but think this entire arc for Dante was meant to be for Vergil in the first place, but he never ended up making it into the game.
That's a good point, Vergil would've made that little arc flow much more naturally. But even as is, it barely even makes sense. When someone says they'll "do things their way" I don't take that as them betraying their friends, I take that as them going all maverick and off-the-book and shit, but still accomplishing the same end goal.
Dante knew what he was doing all along.
@@jekblom123 I'm not claiming he didn't, I'm saying that that was a terrible way for the game to build up to a potential betrayal.
Vergil was actually planned to have been one of the 8 DLC characters meant for Season 2 before the game underperformed, so it's possible that they wrote the story with him being there, before the decision came to cut him out and make him DLC instead (similar to how Sigma, Monster Hunter, and Black Panther were originally meant to be part of the base roster before Capcom had them cut out so they could be sold as DLC to make more money, that's why they are the only DLC characters who appear in the story mode.
The game has no special edition. Vergil couldn't have been there.
Shin Thanos really could have been the sickest thing ever.
Imagine how cool Ultron Sigma and his Forces would of been if rather than having mostly Drones, and Cyborg dudes, he had an army comprised of other Marvel and Capcom Robot Characters that joined him for similar reasons serving as Generals. Sentinel would want to destroy all Mutants, Vile just hates humanity cause they're weak, The Super Adaptoid could of been an interesting inclusion (I'd imagine he'd have a similar gimmick as Rogue to copy an opponent's move), and Jocasta could of been Ultron Sigma's right hand gal. Could of been fun (and besides Sentinel, most of those characters didn't originate from X-men, so they could've been on the table)
Edit: Also forgot about OMEGA Zero, that would be sick if he was in
It would’ve also made sense to have Ultron Sigma control or employ other villains to fight for him. Like, this game has a Dormammu, Thanos, Jedah, Ultron, Nemesis and Firebrand. Instead of having them show up once, they could’ve been recurring villains and make the story more interesting. Have Dormammu show up to help Jedah fight Dante, have Nemesis attack the heroes at Avengers Tower. Firebrand could be assisting Ultron Sigma against Thanos. Instead of having Sigma be DLC, have him and Ultron double team Thanos AND THEN unite when they have the Stones. There’s SO MUCH missed potential here that could’ve worked with what little they had, but NOPE: just a bunch of drone and minion fights.
Mr. Robot Agreed
Dude your absolutely right
Toa nuva I could see Ultron-Sigma recruiting those characters through the Sigma virus but otherwise I don’t think they would actually join him. While Sentinels are made to kill Mutants, they are ultimately just tools made by Humans who want something to keep Mutants in line. Ultron-Sigma just wants to kill *EVERYONE* so that would more likely put him at odds with Sentinels who would be programmed to protect their Human masters. Super-Adaptoid was made by A.I.M., a organization who wouldn’t benefit from Ultron’s plans at all because his goal is the eradication of the Human race, which A.I.M. is apart of. Jocasta also can’t work because she isn’t a murderous robot like Ultron as she was made with the brain patterns of Janet van Dyne, the Wasp. So because of that she shares her personality so she’s not villainous. The idea isn’t bad but it’s unlikely that Ultron-Sigma would good far without using some form of reprogramming like the Sigma Virus to control them.
@@ryancarson6962 Yeah that makes more sense, Plus Vile has never really been a team player (just look at Maverick Hunter), but it be fun to see him constantly at odds with Ultron Sigma's plans. Like how the Grand Master Reprogrammed Zero to serve them, I'd imagine he'd just want him dead after all that time. So the Sigma Virus would be a way more likley way of recruitment.
Everyone is really casual about the fact that millions of people died.

@@MrTubeStuck You're not in trouble for the pun.
Well Sigma did consider killing Ultron when he showed up. But then Ultron was like "Yeah, but we could eradicate organic life though." Now they're best bros
Heck, they're practically flirting when they first meet.
"Damn, Sigma, you got a nice code."
"Not too bad yourself, buddy. Who shines your chassis?"
"Just me."
"No way!... Hey, while we're here, wanna destroy all humans?"
So the last major problem with this story mode: it assumes that we know a lot about these characters. Like, a lot a lot. It doesn't take the time to establish characters, their backstories, or their motivations. The story mode could have been about the same stuff but had a greater impact if we had just cut the cast in half. We don't need 5 characters going to Knowmoon, we only need two: a Marvel and a Capcom character. We don't need 7 people going to Makai, we only need two: a Marvel and a Capcom character. Every character in the roster doesn't need to be in the game's story mode, especially characters who really have no business being there like Spencer or Dormammu. There's a ton of levels about this (like how the convergence should be rewriting character backstories and not just merging locations) but the game features the same kind of crummy world-building that Bright does. You can't just slap a thing onto another thing and not bring with it all the baggage associated with it. A merged world idea would be cool but it should have been built from the ground up.
It just reminds me how they lied to us about what the story was going to be. "We're going to see what it's like when these two worlds collide!" ...then the game takes place almost 3 months after the fact...
To be honest, a lot of fighting games don't do that. I would say that Injustice 2 hardly gave us any backstory for the characters, and assumes we know all about them. You could say playing Injustice 1 gave you that, but not really. But at least Injustice gives characters depth. MvCI is just like "everybody work together!" and most characters personality-wise are indistinguishable. The story is quite linear as well, especially in the 2nd half of the game.
Where they both included Thanos's fascination with Death and that odd "your color" comment when Spider-Man gives X the Mind Stone, it screams to me they were making this game based on the comics in dev and were made to change the stone colors mid-development.
(Mind Stone was blue then, which makes it super odd when Spidey calls the yellow Mind Stone X's color.)
Dante was so out of character that i guess story writers didn't actually knew 90% of the source material they should know to actually use those characters.
Good point.
@@Uaitdevil makes sense since apparently the writers were mostly marvel dudes
There's the other coin where Spidey was being a wisecracking kid as he's known to be, and while yellow and blue are complimentary colors(and X does have yellow in some of his armor forms, especially Ultimate), it just falls flat.
@@dudejoe24 There is just one writer to this game, and he never worked on anything made by marvel or capcom before this game. The whole "this game was wrote by marvel writers" is a made up thing.
Once again, I'm reminded of how Infinite actually did have so much potential to be good, but the lack of a big name roster, half-baked story mode, and an overall lackluster presentation just makes this hurt even more. And who knows? Maybe once the next generation is well underway, maybe Marvel will hit up Capcom to make another MvC title considering how between then and now, the X-Men and F4 were brought back into the fold.
If Fortnite can do what have you with Wolverine, I can't imagine Marvel turning around and telling Capcom "You can't use him again."
In all honesty, having the mutants or the Fantastic four is not going to be enough to restore my interest in doing a new marvel vs capcom game.
The game failed because neither company did their best, and all those issues and problems?...excuses. Marvel had a huge variety off characters and so did Capcom. The concept of Ultron-Sigma was in itself very interesting, and i admit i feel it would had been better if it was the avengers with the megaman X cast...if only to both handle a restriction off not having some characters but also test themselves with a cast that wasnt used as often.
I apologize if i sound genuienly skeptical, but having WOlverine, or Dr Doom...isnt going to solve anything, not unless both companies get their act together and show their inner strenghts, instead off their inner issues.
Marvel is unfortunately bought out by Disney
I wish they let you play as Ultron Sigma. He seems to have a full move set.
He was going to be the 61st character and balanced but alas, they ran out of time.
Yo, imagine beating the shit outta the heroes as the villain near the climax, with them getting an heroic second wind after the beating and turning the tables.

I've been waiting and hyping for a Dante VS. Jedah fight ever since that one ending in Capcom Fighting All Stars... And when it finally happens it's that. No build up, no tension, no fun.
I guess it was my own darn fault
The story feels like DLC levels of effort, the whole thing just doesn’t feel like a main entry in the franchise.
That's insulting of all of the DLC's stories that are actually good, like Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, Starcraft II's campaigns, and Warframe's additions.
Sea Biscuit yeah that’s pretty true~ like, Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Starcraft II’s Campaigns and Warframe’s Additions lol
What's funny is, DLC Seasons for Street Fighter V required more budget than this game as a whole.
Sai Kisaragi and Torna: The Golden Country
Overall, its not the worst story in the world, they just needed to go all the way with the crossover and have fun:
1. Show them meeting at the start: Like X and Zero hunting down Sigma while Iron Man and Cap are chasing Ultron but as the convergence happens, the four meet each other, Spider Man and Haggar trying to keep peace in Metro City while Ultron Sigma shows up and murders everyone, Thor facing an invasion of Firebrand's species trying to figure out what's going on, Jedah beating Dormammu and using his body for the Symbiote monster, Arthur and Firebrand trying to work together since they never met only for Jedah to sacrifice Firebrand's people and promises them safety, Rocket and Gamora getting shot down by Meio and saved by Strider, Hawkeye getting attacked by MODOK in SHIELD custody only for Chris to pull up and start shooting.
2. Turn more heroes evil: Ultron Sigma's Sigma Virus turned Thor evil for the whole game. Do that more with more characters, especially those who don't get much to do like Spencer, Arthur, Hawkeye and Nova. Use the Symbiote on more of the heroes (Spider-Man) more and that forces the Marvel and Capcom heroes to have to naturally fight more of their allies and enemies.
3. Show don't tell, action edition: All the heroes fighting Ultron Sigma, Ryu and Hulk vs Dahren, more moments like that needed to exist. You can tell a story with little dialogue or good dialogue but for an action/fighting game, the more you see these people fight together and against each other than just talking, the better.
4. I feel like the lack of roster choices didn't help matters: Let's take like Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, Kamala Khan, Asura, Edward Falcon, Captain Commando. Ultron-Sigma and Jedah killed millions/billions of people? Wolverine and Scarlet Witch finding out the other X Men, mutants, and her father are dead? Immediate reason to want Ultron Sigma's head on a platter. Kamala having to physically fight all the heroes she looked up too like a Symbiote Captain Marvel and a Sigma Virused Thor only to find hope in the Capcom heroes like Chun Li or Mega Man. Asura's hatred of condensing gods who make humans suffer and thinking the Hulk is a part of them while Ryu's trying to calm down Hulk while secretly struggling with the Satsui? Captain Commando seeing his future in danger and coming back with his team to find the old Metro City and meeting Haggar for the first time. Or Edward Falcon having better synergy with the Stones than Ultron Sigma since he's got similar stones and most of the heroes have to save him to help them. Heck he could confuse Strider for Ayame (the ninja girl from Power Stone right?)
5. The DLC characters being in the base roster really could've helped matters. If Black Widow was in the base roster, imagine Hawkeye getting turned evil and takes off the stoicism, requesting SHIELD and Interpol work together and ask Chun Li to help her free Hawkeye. If Venom was in earlier, have MODOK and Jedah experiment on him, and then Spidey gets the symbiote so after Spidey kicks the heroes but, Venom gets to have his hero complex as he's the only one that can counter Spidey's powers. If Black Panther was in, him and Morrigan can talk about how he's keeping some of the heroic Darkstalkers as refugees since the Dark Kingdom isn't safe with Jedah and Dormammu. Bucky is turned and Captain America and Spencer have to fight him. Heck if Sigma was in the base roster, X and Zero could have a rematch and show a flashback where you play as X against a stronger Sigma and then Zero comes as X is down to half health and the two weaken Sigma before escaping.
6. Let people fight the bosses. And give Thanos Satsui Oni. They're cool ideas and some of them can be scaled.
The sole issue with the story is that they had the ideas and good moments. They just needed the budget, time, and care to make it fun and awesome. Alas, maybe next time.
Your idea for Edward Falcon is cool but why would anyone confuse Strider for Ayame? Aside from falling under the character type of ninja lol. But yeah him having an affinity for the infinity stones, or the Power Stone at least, is a neat idea
They tried to create a Movie like story mode, some times the simple Tournament lore would be better
Not necessarily. The games DO have stories to them, albeit loosely. MvC was Professor X's consciousness bringing the Capcom heroes to the Marvel universe to help beat Onslaught, MvC2 was vague as hell but something to do with Abyss causing decay in both universes, MvC3 had comic set up and everything with the villains of both universes forming an alliance to bridge both universes and conquer both. No need for tournaments.
MvC3 KINDA had an implied story despite the arcade endings. The Capcom and Marvel sides interact a lot more in the arcade endings of 3 than they do in an actual “story” of Infinite.
ReeceHoward06 I really wish they stuck with MVC3’s story and built up on that. The trailers and the comic book showed so much potential with villains like Magneto, Dr Doom, and Wesker teaming up. Funny how the MVC3 trailers had more story to them than this entire game.
ReeceHoward06 The Ryu in MVC is not the same in MVC2. I say this because from what has been established, Professor X’s consciousness brought over SF3 era Ryu while Alpha Ryu was somehow brought into MVC2’s events.
It would explain why Toshiyuki Norikawa voices him in MVC while MVC2 recycled sound clips from Alpha series.
I've said it before: The intro trailer for MvC3 is better than all of MvCI's bloated story mode.
If Akuma wasn't teleported to Tekken 7, he'd be here fighting Shin Thanos.

Dante's "Stop talking....." line could apply to this whole game.
There always has to be the “If it ever happens again, we’ll be ready” line at the ending of these kinds of stories.
Giving me Teen Titans flashbacks here (sidenote: Beast Boy for Injustice 3!)
They really expected it to have a sequel, it seems.
maybe that was the actual Devs talking...
24:53 this is the moment that always gets to me.
From my perspective, Frank is the best character, his entry to the story is explained, his original VA is back, including his personality, (...unlike Dead Rising 4) and, he acts out the way ya'll expect him too. (Using his Baseball bat as a go-to item, and "HE'S GONNA KILL ME") Frank, really did get the good bits of the story, shame that others suffer a worse fate.
He's still sorta off from his original personality, he leans a bit too much into OTR but even that's leagues better than what they did in 4.
D4nK agreed. They need to just completely retcon all the games after 1.
It's kinda funny when everyone is talking about Abel city and X and Zero stay in silence, like "we don't talk about that"
I just realize MVCI is basically Jump Force.
This game is fun but ugly, Jump Force is just ugly. I’d play this over Jump Force any day.
Cmon at least MVCI has decent gameplay in general it is just the presentation that sucks.
Jump Force looks like some weaboo grabbed Unreal Engine and tried to make his own Mugen in 3D and thinks it is the best Fighting game in existance and the Weeboos that defend it as their lives depends on it. Just look at Max's supers on Turd Force and you will see so many weaboos thinking is the best Game in the galaxy.
MVCI is better.
@@IkeSan Dude I 100% agree with your comment
MVCI.....was more interesting. Jump FOrce looked too dull and was in many ways worse and much more incoherent than MVCI, wich at leas understood an handled the fighting game deal well.
And you know what makes me mad? THe fact that Jump Force kept getting DLCS...while MVCI, wich i feel was better.....got thrown to the bus.
90% of this story mode is Thanos standing still in the background with his arms crossed, and the other 10% is characters saying each other's names
This game does have a decent final boss battle.
It kinda does. I wish you could pick your fighters for the final fight but w.e.
That's what they said about DMC2.
Is decent but man i hate Ultron Omega he is just laughable looking i can't that shit serious as a final boss

Seeing Ryu doing his idle animation during the power up scene was hilarious.
Mariobro4 LMAO it was so hilarious
"X and Zero had no character" funny enough they say they will focus more the story around them and they barely had a few dialouges, not to mention theyr 3d models are from Mvc3 since X is not in scale (he is suppously a bit more shorter than Zero and you can clearly see theyre in the same height)
Thank you, Maximilian, for inviting us to your revisit of this intriguing story, written by some guy who skimmed a few Wikipedia articles, involving the jacked superhero Spider-Man, the righteous heroine of justice Morrigan Aensland, and the disgusting creature known as... Well, I was gonna say Dante, or maybe Spencer, but really, it's almost everyone.
Also, Ryu is a scientist.
@@ryanm.8720 He's an average fighter but a BRILLIANT SCIENTIST!
Don't forget the heart melting love story between Ultron and Sigma, the NTR plot involving Thanos getting cucked by Jedah, and Thor being gone for 90% of the story. Also Zero and Hawkeye were there(?)
JoJones pretty much most of the characters were just...there. Spencer(why was he in this game?), Haggar, Arthur, Nova, Zero, even Spider-Man was just along for the ride.
tbh while morrigan is not an righteous heroine, i prefer that than the Evil Morrigan from UDON
Thanos: These stones command all facets of the universe.
Tony: I can make a gun outta that!
That "Dante, where are you going? We must return the favor." line was really nice sounding to me, the va for Ultron and sigma really carried this bad story

when iron man calls x "kid" yet x is older than him

The fact that X dealt the final blow despite him being just a shell of a character means that X was a literal walking plot device

As one of the weird people who plays fighting games primarily singleplayer after Max said that only NRS can do good story modes....I kinda have to agree. And I wish that other game companies would just return to make really good arcade modes. I find a nice arcade mode with a character story (intro, one or two rival battles, ending) much more interesting than those story modes.
I say NRS Story Modes beat others in terms of production value, and so they became the crowning standard since it mimics cinema. But if we compare it to actual film standards, especially in writing, it's not good at all. Kinda boring most of the time. I'll take classic arcade modes and even Guilty Gear Xrd's gameplay-less story mode any day.
@@sirrealgaming6913 I enjoy them too but mainly for the outright bizarre stuff you gert in some parts of the story (like the gag reel endings).
And I do think that Blazblue overall has one of the best singleplayer offerings of any fighting game series (IMO only Soul Calibur and MK beats them) but the way it works I don't think that many casual players are actually interested in essentially reading a visual novel in a fighting game so I'm not sure if you can objectively call them "good" (also the story itself is kind of a mess).
