There is main mission that Aiden needs to restore a power from electrical substation and suddenly 3 peacekeepers approach him. If you look closely to their name, it says Nitaf and Aglot. Ok now just spell backwards and you will get Fatin and Tolga. I know that ain’t easter egg but I just found it cool. 😅
You know it likely is an easter egg, there's literally no possible way they'd accidentally name two characters in the same place with DL1 character's names spelt backwards, it was definitely hinting towards their return

i mean to be honest kyle crane WAS a better man then aiden, almost everything he did was to help literally anyone and everyone who needed it and he never bat an eye, aiden however comes to villedor with an immediately selfish goal and does help the people there but not as selflessly as crane did. aidens still a phenomenal character though that has a backstory perfectly fitting into dying light with a likeable personality. crane was just simply a selfless badass with tungsten balls.

@pol2299 Opening of Dying Light 2 says that Harran was destroyed but the GRE kept experimenting with THV anyways after which led to the outbreak that we experience in the 2nd game. It seems 99% likely that Harran was canonically nuked

But Harran was such a lost cause, they "wiped it from the map", it became an exclusion zone similar to Chernobyl. If you don't believe me, they make reference to Harran still standing with survivors still trapped inside the walls before DL2 takes place and BEFORE the THV Virus spreads across the world.
