- The Arrma Gorgon is finally here! In this episode of 10th Scale Garage, we unbox it and take a look at the newest RC monster truck from Arrma. This 2wd Monster truck boasts big headlines, but does it stack up to our other 2wd Monster Trucks from Traxxas and ECX? We take it out for some bashing to find out. From jumps to speed runs, we put this RC monstr truck through it's paces!

Hi guys! I have to say I was surprised by the one I bought in every way. The build quality was better than I expected as well as the performance. I fully expected to throw in a 3s system pretty much immediately but was kind of shocked at how well it did on a 2s 50c pack. It was fast, had plenty of power and would do wheelies all day, I really need to get the wheelie bar! I really bought it for my channel figuring I'd give it to my gf's son eventually when he gets a little older but I actually ended up enjoying myself a lot more than I thought I would lol I think we all forget sometimes how much fun a 2wd truck can be because almost everything is 4wd these days. Now I'm torn whether to just leave as is or throw in one of the 3s systems I have. Honestly it did really well on the 2s lipo, so I really could go either way as far as upgrading it. I noticed that the body was a thin, so I gorilla taped it before I ran it. It should last OK now. I was astounded at how good and balanced it was for the price point. They are going to sell a lot of these for Christmas I think. And although it's primarily aimed at newbies, as I found out, this rig is really for anybody that wants a fun and budget friendly basher! Gorgon is the shit for only 139.99 going with brushless 3800kv Spectrum 15t Pinion
I have one in Red , i did 50wt shock oil f/r , 100k diff fluid , 25 kg servo , Hobbywing 1060 esc , lights , fan and spectrum slt3 radio . Going brushless next week .
I wonder if he realized radio is at 50% throttle out of the box. It’s a litttle faster than that.😊

We have 2 red and 1 black and green, saving up for the black and hopefully getting the blue in the mail this week, I even dug out the broken Voltage and upgraded the electronics, now we have 2S vehicles for everyone. These are fast enough out of the box, just go to lipo and you're set. Thank you for the great videos, we love em all. Cheers from California.
Man, I love your videos guys! As a single dad to a little girl we like watching them together it’s so awesome. I can’t afford to buy any RC cars but I live through you guys. I sold my collection when I got full custody of my daughter. I’d do anything for her! But my plan is to save and get her a Gorgon or grom for Christmas 🎄 🤞 her smiling makes my world go round!! Please keep up the awesome videos

I just got the red one myself. Going to drive it stock for awhile for some fun. Then upgrades of course. The 14 mm wheels suck though. But oh well. Thanks for the vid as always.
Nobody has said it but this is very similar to the Traxxas Bigfoot. Even down to the foamless tires. We love our Bigfoot but this looks superior for sure. We're Arrma fans at heart so its a given we're going to end up with one of these and brushless swap it.

Picked one up for my missus. I really like it. Servo saver is a big flaw. Breaks very easily.

Thanks for the intro. Looking at this and my first thought was this is the problem with all the industry consolidation, for $200 more in upgrades they could’ have eaten the gravediggers lunch and really given us a bargain. By the way had no idea they owned pro line now also.
I bought one with a red body and it's cool enough. I'm not planning much for it but a lipo for now.
3900 kv, 100a firma esc, 3s, stock gears, 40wt oil to shocks, anodized aluminum ball joints, and granite tires..shoegoo the body with drywall tape and hot glue beads...take note, slipper clutch will slip alot cause truck is not designed for heavy weight spurs and tires....don't add too much grease inside slipper gear case or it will find its way to the slipper pad and start spinning....I know😅

i like the truck and it’s great fun . but yeah 14 mm hex and the body clip design will make it trickier than the stampede to customise. but it’s good fun 😊👍
Easy get a 14mm to 17mm adaptor or 14mm to 12 adaptor. Body pins, easy get 4 rods drill a hole them to have 4 posts
@@jalee6587 yeah i was actually looking and could stick some 12mm hexes on there anyway . i’m hoping arrma release new designs for the body . i think they should as it’s a great platform.
Hot racing makes twelve mm hexes for Arrma trucks I got them for my senton so I could run the 17mm senton 6s wheel’s with an adapter because I kept blowing the stock ones

Gotta do a comparison with the stampede. Jumping, tug o war, and a drag race. Just overall funfactor
Our stampede is brushless so it might not be a fair fight.
DISTANCE BETWEEN BODY POST HOLES IN THE CHASSIS MAKES ME BELIEVE IT MAY FIT THE 3S ARRMA BODY MOUNT(FOR FITTING DIFFERENT BODIES) IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL IF YOU GUYS TESTED THIS FOR THE AUDIENCE 😅 😉

I heard you can use Granite body mounts on the Gorgon. Then put any 1/10 body on.
I got 25.5 mph on 2s lipo. 23 seems a little slow i heard the radio might not be at 100% from the factory a small 3 way switch on back has 50/75/100 percent power options.

FYI don't buy the optional arrma fan they have listed on horizon because it doesn't fit the fan hole 😂. It's too small. Our ecx Brutus is fun a s hell with a cheap onyx system but it needed gears etc. Our gorgon is getting the same setup.

Exactly. Half the price of the Bigfoot too and definitely takes a beating better.

What would be the maximum speed with the original engine 25 miles?
I'm also considering this for my young kids (5 and 8). It's between this and the FMS Smasher v2. The Smasher is smaller, slower, 4x4 and also cheaper.
The Gorgon looks great fun, but I still think my kids would send it flying and break it rather quickly - or crash it into someone. The Smasher, being slower and lighter, is perhaps a more sensible choice? It would probably last longer, and I think it would be quite fast enough for them (if not for me).

I have stock battery and charger if anybody wants it...I went brushless.... FYI, changed connector to a xt60 on stock battery cause of my setup
