Ya dude I'm with ya on that stupid noise from the spectrum esc. They could have something not so childish. But ya these r perfect for the ppl that r looking to get into the hobby and they don't have to spend a lot of money. Great video guys.
I bought a Stampede back in 1996, it was all the same but the wheels and tires were like the ones on the Gorgon. I remember my Stampede handling more like the Gorgon. The newer tires look good for traction, but they seem stiff with the lower profile sidewall/bigger wheels.
If you happen to have an entry level 3d printer and some pla filament, there's a really well fit brace you can download and print off thingiverse that fixes the pin problem on the back of the stampede
I get what he is saying and is right but that universal clip system is what allows us to run all sorts of bodies. For example I'm running a 1/8th flm stampede with an E maxx body. Specialized clipping systems will destroy that. Great video though and looking at the Arma but that's one thing I'm wondering about. Body options
stampede all the way! gorgon is cool though i would probably go with the vorteks instead if going with arrma. Stampede has been around along time for a reason. They are super fun and lively to run. 2wd brushed stampede is my favorite rc of all time
Gorgon all day I beat the heck out of mines and it takes it. Had traxxas before and their drivetrain is just garbage. Upgraded the Gorgon to brushless and the drivetrain takes it no problem.
The stampede is easier to change the motor in but kills driveshafts every time you want to drive it I'm assuming Arrma does the same thing but I'm not sure not a huge fan of the Gorgon although the tractor tires do look nice on it
@@redbanditracing I have a bunch of Traxxas cars rustler slash nitro 4tec. I've never had armma any thing but I've seen gorgon kits for 140 and I've seen videos of them on brushless handling it no problem that might be my next move
stampede is 10 times better because it has the rear motor. It's as simple as that. completely different to drive, jumps like nothing on earth, you do need to put proline tires on there so it has some weight and you're pretty much have to throttle after every jump to get the rear end to lift but done correctly that lets you scrub. 2wd stampede is the funnest truck ever. I was thinking about a Gorgon for guests or neighborhood kids but I wouldn't let them near my stampede. gorgon looks really extra sturdy stampede is also darn tough if you know how to drive it. you won't be able to run a three cell in either truck without a brushless set up as I'm sure others pointed out. If you go with a lightweight Lipo you'll get the same time as nickel but much better performance. The same size you'll get similar performance and super long run time. 1500 lipo 2s is best bet
The mid motor setup of the gorgon is way better. Better balance and way superior handling. The rear motor on Traxxas makes it way too heavy at the rear. Stampede has Horrible handling and bad mid air characteristics when compared to gorgon.
UPDATE: The Arrma Gorgon does not run on 3s out of the box. The information was a little deceiving, sorry for the incorrect information.
The box literally says NiMh/2s/3s, nobody else noticed that?
@@SpeedFREAKS_1so does it or not?
@hdb262w9 Does not, it's definitely deceiving
The spec sheet for the unit literally say 2s/3s tho?
I know, that’s why we were confused. I think Arrma needs to change their labeling.
The Stampede 2wd definitely has high levels of nostalgia. Most of the parts go back 30 years and more. Both cool trucks
Its why Traxxas keeps me buying. All these new rc's are nothing if the parts are discontinued in 5 years. Long live the Pede.
Love it man
I just got a Gorgon and absolutely love it. I want to try the Stampede out too.
Can you please post a clip of you just plugging in a 3s on like a table and trying to spin the motor
I will do that today for you and see what’s going on with the Gorgon.
😮😮😮😮 amazing review and explanation! 😊
Thanks so much!
That Gorgon being more stable is just a testament to the difference between rear motor and mid motor.
The stampede and rustler should have had the motor mounted much like 4X4 models without the front drivetrain. You are very much correct

I remember that, they were like the chevron tires. These newer talons have no grip.

That would be nice, 3D printing is getting cheaper maybe that’s a future route.

Nice to see someone else install their GPS under the body. Everyone tapes it to the top of the body. Never understood that. Lol
Just made sense, one crash with it taped to the top of the body and you break the GNSS.
@@redbanditracing Right? I use heavy-duty velcro underneath the body or to the chassis.
Will my spectrum 3s fit I won't to go get one but I need to see if will fit
I have not used many Spectrum LiPos, I Traxxas 2S LiPo fits just fine.
Is the antenna prone to breaking on the Stampede? Just a curious question.
Yes, just because it sticks out.
@@redbanditracing kind of thought so. Can you get shorter antennas?
I have to go with the Gorgon, the main thing I dont like is the brushed system... Cool vid guys 👍🏻
Thank you
Liked both but my XL5 Pede has been completly RPM'ed out & Gorgon $$ will make Pede a VXL once & for all . 2 yrs of brushed is enough.
What’s the price difference??
It’s in the description, $60 difference.
Not the “wronger lung time” 😂😂😂 sorry I just had to. 3:08 2s got it.

In general Traxxas has much better spare part support than Arrma. This is why I prefer (and own) the Stampede 2WD.
Arrma gorgon wheelbase is actually 1" longer not .25" like you stated.
I was eye balling the Gorgon, we’re splitting hairs about 3/4”
Should have done it with hd new stampede
Gorgon all day.....especially updraded to a brushless system, the Gorgon is far more fun to drive than the Stampede
Nickel hydrid 3s?
I’m not sure the question, and which car your question is for.
It is a 5000 50c 11.1v 3s
The stampede just looks stiff, love how the gorgon jumps and takes bumps.
Gorgon definitely has softer suspension

That’s great to hear about the Gorgon, we will definitely be trying a brushless system as well. It’s such an enjoyable truck.

Does your Stampede have the stock motor?
@@redbanditracing Yes
Don’t know why you would be breaking axles all the time
Mine is brushless converted and geared up and has bigger wheels and tires on it and I’ve never broken an axle on it in 7 years
Gorgons half the price tho
More like 2/3

I have a gorgon and a fury...both made by arrma my gorgon is much faster
Ten years old?!?? Automatically wins. End.
