- Hidden camera expert Joe Van Demark says hotel guests should be wary of adjoining rooms. He says even though the doors may be locked, an endoscope camera might be able to slip under the slot below the door. “Since you are not paying attention, you wouldn't know it’s like a little snake,” he told Inside Edition. Here are some measures you can take to protect yourself against someone peeping in on your stay. #InsideEdition

Unless evidence was "in plain sight" which it clearly wasnt when he mentioned he had hid it in the couch cushions. The officer could of detained him until he got a search warrant because as soon as admission of guilt was give. It gave the officer almost unparalleled control over the suspect and his investigation.

BUT the cop can lie and say hes going to “rip the room apart” to get the guy to voluntarily give up the camera which is exactly what happened. It’s best to make sure your hotel room is NOT an adjoining room and always check that your door is slide-proof.
Google spycams and Korea. It's getting more common in the west too. They can be hidden about anywhere. No need to slide anything under the door. You never know.

I use to think it was a waste of money but any time we stayed in a hotel my parents would always book the regular room & the adjoining one as well. Now it makes sense.
A few years ago i was in a hotel room with an adjoining door, i was curious and opened it and there was a man sleeping, i quickly and quietly shut the door. To the door had a lock on my side which was unlocked, so i locked it. Its scary to think that if i had been a thief or something how easy it would have been to sneak in when the man was out.

i’ve always put towels at the bottom of doors. you should put tape on the peephole in the door also. people have been known to look through them, and some have been reversed.
I've done that before especially during my stay in Las Vegas. The rooms there especially the bathrooms have gaps in them that you can easily fit your hand in them. Now imagine a tiny camera watching you as you bathe,change or use the toilet 🤢
not entirely sure how a towel would actually stop that camera; I'm pretty sure it would conceal it better... now something actually rigid and heavy that's something else; like your suitcase :D

We had an adjoining room whilst we went to Spain, the neighbors had a huge family and they were so loud, babies constantly crying and yelling it was awful. The hotel apologised and gave us a villa with a private pool and extended our holiday by 4 days :)

Each and every time that I was put into a hotel room in 2019 & 2020 with an adjoining room and asked to be moved, the hotel staff acted as if I was bothering them. This just proves that I was right. How awful; it’s a good thing that the police took them seriously.
