I love that she describes the relationship with Erik as mutual admiration and being one another's muses. It's SO accurate. It perfectly explains the connection and lack of boundary, almost transcendent time stopping moments they have together. But I love that she clarifies that Christine fell in love with Raoul. She has a soulful and passionate connection with Erik, which is almost deeper than romance? But in the end I don't think she ever loved him in a love triangle way, there was never a point where she was choosing between the two in terms of romance. It was always passion for her art and soul, or love and safety.

It’s funny how Andrew wrote this Opera for Sarah, who was his GF, soon-to-be wife at the time, and along comes a few other productions of it and we find better Christines. Everyone has their favorite Phantom, Raul(sp?), and Christine. I love the movie. Watching videos where they interviewed Joel and Andrew about who they wanted or were screen tested, I think they casted it perfectly. Minnie Driver was hilarious as Carlotta. 😂😂 I can’t picture any of the other people they considered for the roles doing them. They considered Catherine Zeta Jones for Christine but she turned it down because she had just done Chicago and didn’t want to be in two of the same kind of movies. They thought about Anne Hathaway….IDK, I just can’t see her as Christine. Patrick Wilson was the only one they knew they wanted and was the first one cast. Nobody else was even considered for Raul. I just know I wouldn’t want the job of casting people. It must be so hard. Especially if you have your heart set on someone then they say no. Emmy actually almost didn’t get the part because she had a family reunion in Las Vegas and her mom didn’t want her to miss it. But Joel talked her into leaving it early to sing for Andrew. I learn a lot from the IMDb app. Lol If you search any movie or actor and scroll down, they have a bunch of trivia and neat things about whatever you search for. Especially a movie, they list the goofs, trivia, and quotes. Ok, I’m done! This turned into a LONGGGGGG post!!!! If anyone actually read all my rambling, THANK YOU!
