The arcade game Lunar Pool is based off of is known as Perfect Billiards. There was also a version of Lunar Pool made for the MSX PC
I swear I used to play this game only for the music. It was a blessing in those times.
i think i had this on one of those controller systems that contained 50+ games, this was definitely up there as one of my most played, although i don't remember being very good at it haha
Loftus Same here. Only mine contained 64 NES games. (Some were even ones that were never brought over to the west) While I hate how I had to experience these with a flimsy controller on a non authentic console, it introduced me on so many classics like Contra and Castlevania.
That sounds like an interesting collection! As you say although the controllers were a bit temperamental, it was a great way to discover lots of games you might never have had a chance to play :)
I had one of the Power Joy plug and plays as a kid that had the Zapper built right in, and it got me into imported and bootleg NES games.
I think it was the 64 in 1 one.
Haven't played this for at least 25 years, but I remember that music like it was yesterday....
Amazingly, they managed to fit this all into 25KB.
Desmaad 25kb = tons of fun.
This is not surprising. The game is super small. One soundtrack. Easy physics. And levels are mostly reused after certain time with just different ball arrangement. Other games had do a trick to fit the game intro a cartridge but they had to make more.
This is the reason why the game is found on so many bootleg carts, it's small and easy to put it on.
I played this game on my Dendi so much. after 21 stage, I couldn't do it. But still, it's amazing.
I remember my dad getting this game for his birthday back in the early 90s. It was always fun to play around with the gravity settings.

I used to play this game when I stayed over at my Grandmother’s house as a kid. Played it on a plug n play TV controller that was shaped as a fake N64 controller and had dozens of NES games stored into it. Good times!

I remember playing this game on a bootleg GBA cartridge when I was younger.

This game tormented me for many years in my childhood, now as an adult I never understood why but as a child it always made me anxious and it was the only NES game that made me feel so bad

There weren't very many Pool games on the NES. This, and "Side Pocket". are the only ones I know of.
I was aware of side pocket on the Megadrive, only.
"Side Pocket" was originally an arcade game, and had versions on the NES, Gameboy, Genesis, SNES, Game Gear, Playstation, Saturn, and WonderSwan. There were even arcade spin-offs called "Pocket Gal" and "Pocket Gal Deluxe"; the latter was the basis for the Genesis/SNES game.

still play this game today, i have cartridge famiclone multi game 100 in1 , sad damged lost most games, but this game still here!!!Lol
XBOX and smartphones with PC like specs. Still I prefer these 8bit boxes. There's really something to it. Despite having a million games in the play store, i still install NES emulators to enjoy my favorite titles.
There's even modern games that are great too

If I remeber well, this game had a bug where you could set the friction to zero in a custom game and the balls wouldn't stop rolling haha
