My mom doesn't care about video games and one day I mentioned that i have Dr. Mario in my NES classic edition and my mom smiled and said "That game is so awesome"
My mom never played video games, but she played Dr. Mario. Then one time she was playing against my dad, and he was beating the snot out of her. So my dad decides to put his own level all the way on 20 and my mom's sitting at level 6 or something. Made her mad, she never played another video game.
Once, as little kid, I woke up and when I was going to bathroom I've seen light of TV in living room. I've decided to check what is that, and it was my mom playing adventure island 2 at 3:00 am hahaha
Lol there's no "games" in my mom's dictionary. It was the first video game console where they paid attention to what games were released on it. Doesn’t mean they were all gems, but it was the first console where when you picked up a game on the shelf you could reasonably assume it would be at least playable and more likely than not fun. Atari before it was the closest to this, but it died because there was so much unplayable shovelware on it that you never knew if the game you would get would be good. NES, most games are fun bare minimum, game design finally becomes a thing during this Gen, and most importantly, Nintendo had Nintendo power, so now you had a thing that told you about the games and what it was like to play them aka a review. So Nintendo controlling game quality that was released, coupled with Nintendo power gave consumers the confidence their money was well spent on any given title in a way never before seen in video games, add that most of these games again were fun regardless, that you never felt ripped off after buying a game, only complaint would be too hard/no save systems. But again this was the I think 3rd generation of home game consoles, and was the first console to actually get it right. Remember Nintendo invented the DPad for home gaming.

Good list. A good mix of action, adventure and rpgs. Maybe a little heavy on the sports games, but each to their own. I like how you acknowledged Destiny of an Emperor, great RPG!
There is a mathematically charming beauty in NES game's tile based graphics as opposed to SNES "more artistic" graphics. It would have been awesome if it could display as many colors as the SNES did and have its sounds (but in the NES and without the flicker of course).
Great list with some really classic ones. Of course Super Mario Bros 3 number 1. I did miss several faves of mine though, Gunsmoke and Track And Field not in there.
No Journey to Silius, Shatterhand, Revenge of the Joker, Ironsword: Wizards n Warriors 2, Strider, Dragon Spirit, Astyanax, Sector Z , The Guardian Legend. I can go on.
Nice list, but I wish you would have included Tecmo baseball and Little League Baseball for the sports along with Double Dribble for basketball. I'm glad you include RC PRO AM, that was my first and favorite racing game. Monster In My Pocket was also a good game, along with Metal Mech, difficult but still a great game. As for the shooter games, Air Fortress was a great one!! Commando too!!!
I used to own a bootleg console in my childhood. I really missed those crappy games I wasted so many hours on. I am happy that some of those showed up here and I know what they are actually called.
In order of the most fun it brought me, family and friends. Super Mario Brothers - My mother, grandmother and all my friends played this for hours. EVERYBODY played it Metroid - I was the first I knew of to beat the game. Never been so focused on beating a game. Megaman - Couldn't get enough of the game play and weapons. Punch Out - The whole town was trying to beat the game. People would run over to see someone try and beat the Macho Man. RC Pro AM - Played a ton of hours trying to get all gold. Can't recall if I did, but I know I at least got close. Zelda - Not a game I liked but that game got borrowed more than any I can remember. Track and FIeld - Loved playing this to compete with friends records.
Bro, you listed too many bad games. Where's Dragon Spirit? RC Pro Am? Double Dragon & Battletoads? Crossfire? Contra Force? PAC-MAN?! Have you checked Astyanax? It's undeniably one of the NES best gems ever!
Kings of the beach! Much better than Superspike. Tiny toon Adventure, space invaders, final fight. Roger Rabbit... so many good games! Still was interesting to see what's considered top 100
um...Punch-Out!! is counted twice, so it's really 99 games. Yes, I know there's 2 versions of it but it's the same damn game with 1 having Mike Tyson...the 100th slot should be EarthBound Beginnings, StarTropics 2 or Darkwing Duck IMO
I thought that was pretty dumb too. Same game. If you named all the mega man games, where's Ducktales 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, etc? Those could have replaced Punchout. Not sure why having Tyson in it made it a top ten game opposed regular punchout which was WAY lower. It's the same exact gameplay.
wasn't punch out and Mike Tyson's punch or y the same game except for the last match where punch out replaced Tyson with Mr. Dream or something? Why is it in the list twice?
There are a lot of good games missing in this "top". Just to name some of them: Rad Racer, Ikari Warriors, Double Dribble, Goal!, Spelunker, Arkanoid, Bad Dudes, Kung Fu, Major League Baseball, Gotcha!, Pro Wrestling, Tag Team Wrestling, Galaga, NES Baseball, Lunar Ball.
Good to see Castlevania II: Simon's Quest being recognized as one of the tops, I don't believe it's as cryptic as it's been made out to be (unless we are cracking puns here)
going from the snes to your nes vid is like looking back at ten generations of consoles apart.........seriously frightening. No wonder the snes, megadrive era was like a new dimension in gaming!!! There will never be a leap in graphical quality like we saw back then, best times!!!
Yeah, that generational jump is a big one. Pretty eye opening; but if you consider 3D graphics, the jump from the SNES to the GameCube is also pretty big. If you have some time, check out my "Evolution of PlayStation" video - ruclips.net/video/-CQMELRJh0w/видео.html - that shows a similar series of transitions in the Sony family
you must love the gamecube, seeing you've typed it when you were thinking the n64, hehe. The transition from 2d consoles to 3d is an interesting one. I often wonder if the really good 2d that we saw on the snes and to some extent the mega drive was not all that inferior from a visual standpoint to the 3d we saw from the ps1 early on in its life. 3d graphics had a really crazy WOW factor which I think may have distorted the true view of what we were seeing. I thought vf on the saturn looked like magic and I do recall thinking toshinden and wipeout on the playstation looked mind blowing. Looking back now what we see is low res, low poly visuals that don't look anything like we remember.........well, I can certainly say that for myself. It would be good to get a bunch of 10 - 12 year old kids and ask them what they think looks better today. I reckon the snes might get a landslide victory over the ps1 if we choose the games wisely enough.
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about the N64. :) Early 3D really has not aged well; I've grown up through the transition and even I would say that the MegaDrive/SNES 2D graphics are more visually appealing than early 3D (PS1/Saturn/N64 gen). Hand-drawn art trumps low-poly count/low-res textures.
Can you help me please? I'm looking for an old game...the only thing that I can remember is: one guy that fight with a statue with many hands, in last level with a giant spider...which game is that????🙄🙄🙄
@Da man Alexander it s made with gamefaqs ratings, so it s like an average. And mike tyson really made the game a big challenge and a good memory for many people.

Bro street fighter 2010😍😍😍😍....this game is close to my heart....i am glad u mentioned it
Good list. A good mix of action, adventure and rpgs. Maybe a little heavy on the sports games, but each to their own. I like how you acknowledged Destiny of an Emperor, great RPG!
damn men... u put a smile on my face, thanks
There is a mathematically charming beauty in NES game's tile based graphics as opposed to SNES "more artistic" graphics. It would have been awesome if it could display as many colors as the SNES did and have its sounds (but in the NES and without the flicker of course).
We have the Switch for that now :)
Many NES games also came out on the Master system, PC-Engine, Genesis, and mame so check the versions of those games there.
Dude, Bionic Commando is such an underrated game... Still, number 25 isn't bad (it would be higher if I made the list, lol)
Honestly, watching this video, I can say that I had a really happy childhood!
Thank you Nintendo and god bless the 8 bit ❤️❤️❤️
I remember the happy moments when my father and I played these video games together (,:
yep...
Great list with some really classic ones. Of course Super Mario Bros 3 number 1.
I did miss several faves of mine though,
Gunsmoke and Track And Field not in there.
Shingen the Ruler
Just got an nes classic after my grandparents looked desperately for one. I love it
No Journey to Silius, Shatterhand, Revenge of the Joker, Ironsword: Wizards n Warriors 2, Strider, Dragon Spirit, Astyanax, Sector Z , The Guardian Legend. I can go on.
The Guardian Legend was #41
Nice list, but I wish you would have included Tecmo baseball and Little League Baseball for the sports along with Double Dribble for basketball. I'm glad you include RC PRO AM, that was my first and favorite racing game. Monster In My Pocket was also a good game, along with Metal Mech, difficult but still a great game. As for the shooter games, Air Fortress was a great one!! Commando too!!!
grembins 2, robin hood, circus charlie, penwin adventure, olimpic games, earthbound, road fighter, rush'n attack, kung fu master,
omg gremlins and rush n attack haha jeeez
As an mother fan. Mother 1 wasnt really fun. It had some nice ideas but game was kinda boring after all those encounters
I used to own a bootleg console in my childhood. I really missed those crappy games I wasted so many hours on. I am happy that some of those showed up here and I know what they are actually called.
Xevious, Legendary Wings, Double Dribble, Arkanoid
Shatterhand, gunsmoke
In order of the most fun it brought me, family and friends.
Super Mario Brothers - My mother, grandmother and all my friends played this for hours. EVERYBODY played it
Metroid - I was the first I knew of to beat the game.
Track and FIeld - Loved playing this to compete with friends records.
added all these to my modded NES classic
Very good video! 👍
Samuel G BattleTOOOOAADS!!!!
It's not his list, it's voters' from GameFAQs. Also, RC was on the list.
My no1 is Kabuki Quantum Fighter followed by Shadow of the Ninja (Blue Shadow)
83rd place and 4th place......are same game))) LOL
Punchout is #83 but Mike Tyson’s punchout is #4?!?!? It’s the exact same thing except the last guy is black instead of white lol
My #1: Castlevania!
RBI Baseball #1
Castlevania right behind it
Mega Man 2
Any list without Castlevania somewhere in the Top 10 is illegitimate at best. I call shenanigans!
I would say Castlevania 3
Both punch outs? And yeah...as someone else had said...too many baseball games
um...Punch-Out!! is counted twice, so it's really 99 games. Yes, I know there's 2 versions of it but it's the same damn game with 1 having Mike Tyson...the 100th slot should be EarthBound Beginnings, StarTropics 2 or Darkwing Duck IMO
The first was regular Punch Out. The second is Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Very similar of course but different end :)
literally just a re-skin though....
It's the same exact gameplay.
not only Punch-Out ;) Ninja Gaiden, TMNT, and a few more ;)
Bat Maul MTPO came first. The one with Mr Dream is the re-skinned.
wasn't punch out and Mike Tyson's punch or y the same game except for the last match where punch out replaced Tyson with Mr. Dream or something? Why is it in the list twice?
Star Force and Road Fighter?
Does the end of the video bother anyone else how it cuts off the Mario music in the middle? lol
Nes one of my favorite console s EVER!!
Have you played Captain America game?
I was born in 2002 but I have played some of these games.
Nostalgia
I was too and have played almost all
There are a lot of good games missing in this "top". Just to name some of them: Rad Racer, Ikari Warriors, Double Dribble, Goal!, Spelunker, Arkanoid, Bad Dudes, Kung Fu, Major League Baseball, Gotcha!, Pro Wrestling, Tag Team Wrestling, Galaga, NES Baseball, Lunar Ball.
Bad Dudes is crap. It's the same exact thing for half an hour.
Gracias por traer tantos recuerdos. Yo solía rentar o intercambiar varios de estos juegos en la infancia. Gran video.
#1 Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt
#2 Captain Tsubasa Vol 2
#3 The Addams Family
#4 Snow Bros
You are not from asia i think.. too many japanese games missing like galaga, pacman etc.. and also gunsmoke is dope..
I start the video... my worst nightmare: Solstice...
I swear as a child it was horrible, so difficult
Good to see Castlevania II: Simon's Quest being recognized as one of the tops, I don't believe it's as cryptic as it's been made out to be (unless we are cracking puns here)
you can play the non cryptic version
I feel like it at least deserved a top 10 spot.
Some games had influenced Pokémon (music, animation and places).
Legacy of the Wizard.. holy nostalgia.
going from the snes to your nes vid is like looking back at ten generations of consoles apart.........seriously frightening.
Missing Pro Wrestling, Commando and Ikari Warriors... sad day...
Pro Wrestling was great.
Can you help me please? I'm looking for an old game...the only thing that I can remember is: one guy that fight with a statue with many hands, in last level with a giant spider...which game is that????🙄🙄🙄
punchout's on there twice (83 and 4)
Aha! I was waiting for someone to notice that. There is a minor difference: one has the Mike Tyson branding and is technically a different game.
@Da man Alexander it s made with gamefaqs ratings, so it s like an average. And mike tyson really made the game a big challenge and a good memory for many people.
3:24 how are the sprites rotating?
