Having watched all of your rebuilds I can honestly say you’re doing a really good job. You learn quickly but mistakes are inevitable. I’ve made loads but I enjoy the reward
My son is a flight planner for BA. He worked at Luton for EasyJet until a few months ago doing the same job. Really enjoy your videos. I’m currently restoring a 1972 CB759F K2. Unfortunately when I get a bike I don’t get rid of it. 16 of them sitting in my garage now!
Don’t worry about collaborating with other people. I have just randomly came across the turbo bike and I watched it all the way through and I never normally do.
I work on bikes too and watching you learn has helped me on my projects. Love your content dont worry about the other youtubers do your thing thats what we are here for
Keep doing what you're doing mate , reviving old bikes that are forgotten about is great, my Dad had a super dream that he got for nothing when i was a kid that he fixed up and put on the road , so the rebuild rekindled a fond memory of me and my dad , as for the Thunderace , it was the first litre bike I ever rode , a guy had one at my old work place , it was 2 weeks old and I'd only ridden 125s at the time ,I remember thinking it was like a bloody missile 😂, I passed my test and got myself a 98 600 hornet , and me and the guy with the Ace went on many ride outs and to many meets . Oh the memories. Thanks for that . Keep up the great work .
Love your channel mate and although I spent fifteen years in aviation (Engineer) And I'm pretty capable, I'd be reluctant to tackle half the stuff you do. Big balls man.. I love the fact you self deprecate and don't edit out your mistakes. We've all done it and we all learn from it. All the best Ry 👌
I love watching your videos .and this video was interesting..it's nice to hear about the life of people you watch on RUclips.very interesting.keep up the awesome work.
Just started to watch your videos, I tried the whole RUclips thing my self and like you say it takes a lot of time to edit the videos and create the content Keep it up
The direction your channel is going is amazing. Seeing you in the day-to-day grind keeping this thing going you might not have the luxury to see how incredible what you’ve put together really is. Looking at it as an outside observer the shop and you’re ongoing builds already rivals what some big channels have been doing for years. Rye, your content is quite good and definitely on the right track! Whether all storms and your channel will grow. Keep up the great work Bikes of Rye👏
Nice one. Loving the content! Just try to block out the noise. Just be yourself, be honest and do what you want to do, not want you think might sell. Love your channel.
Great work, it must be a stressful job and there is no need to put further stress on yourself by worrying about other RUclipsrs and their somewhat inflated view of themselves or their channels. The reality is that the majority of bikes you have worked on are the bikes that most of us have owned or rode at one time or another and it’s great to see them being put back on the road. The Superdream series has been great for me as it brought back many memories, my mates and i had 250`s including the Superdream, Yamaha RD 250, Suzuki X7 and Kawasaki KH 250 Triple these bikes were everywhere in the mid 70`s or early 80`s and you hardly see them except for museums these days. I hope you keep getting more everyday bikes back up and running, i love the way that everyone on this channel tries to give advice in a kind and positive way rather than sniping from the sidelines. Keep up the good work and look after yourself.
You walk your own path mate..one day when you hit big number subs others will ask u for colabs..unfortunately thats how it works and how ppl really are. Ama small youtuber and you are hige inspiration for me. Greetings from Ireland 👊👊👊
Love the back to your roots video. Love the restorations too by the way. Rye, what about getting back into bike reviews? Maybe a little less stress than the rebuilds and can quite often just be raw footage. But approaching dealers for the daily /weekly test rides they offer and get some content that way?
Thanks! Yeah the reviews are so much easier to shoot and edit. This upload took me about 5 minutes to put together 🤣 was wonderful. But thing with reviews it isn't very rewarding for me. Maybe if I rode bikes I wanted to ride then maybe. Who knows I may do the odd one, I have thought about it. Thanks!
Keep doing what you do. I look forward to every episode. I understand the motivation problem and have 3 projects on the go now, all Hondas. Sometimes I wonder what the heck I'm doing and feel like chucking them all on marketplace, but just spending 30 mins in the garage is enough to get me going again. I like to save old shitters too! One of mine is a 1986 Brazil CG125 that was awful, but it's back on its wheels again, although not running. Crack on mate!
Your so lucky to have what you have got ,a great girlfriend who helps you on bikes, you even have a workshop,it's better than working in the rain and in the road ...and you're got a fantastic job.
Actually, I hated the superdream, but it was great watching the rebuild. I had a CB250G5 as my first real bike after an SS50. Now, 47 years on, I'm riding a CB360G! I'm of the age that I passed my test on the CB250G5.
for what its worth, I like it when it all goes wrong in your videos, you're the Frank Spencer of motorcycle repair 👍, forget zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, we got Rye and that last f-ing bolt. On a serious note, I subscribe to quite a few other UK biker channels, yours is one of the best
Nice update Rye, I get the impression that it's difficult to get noticed by the big kids on here that have large following sand are more established. Keep doing what you do, you have a different angle that's well worth watching.👍
You have a point of difference, which is refreshing. The channel is real, people like that. Don't worry about the big heads, they'll regret it one day. Keep up the good stuff. We'll done 👍👍
My friend, just discovered your channel today. Just subscribed and had to comment. I'm portuguese and I feel the same you talk about other motovloggers. Looks like it's an worldwide biker way of thinking... The bigger ones don't care about the small channels but after a few videos you can see them to copying what you've done and not giving crédit to the source of inspiration. Anyway, love your content! Keep going. If anytime soon you travel to Portugal, feel free to contact me and i'm more than happy to show you around! Cheers and keep going! 🤜🤛✌️
I don't have much interest in bike builds, but I support what you do. You're in your own lane, and not trying be someone else. That in itself is enough value to the community, it sets a good example to others 👊 I'l be watching whenever you take that T7 out for a spin tho 💥
T7 was sold a while ago... never used it! Not because it wasn't any good. Just no time to ride it. Was a superb bike! Thanks for the positive feedback mate 👍🏼 😁
Enjoyed your ride out something a little different sounds like you enjoyed it. Love your channel really interesting what you do I always look forward to your videos so keep it up 👍
Stuff the other bloggers mate, I like to see someone who's genuine and honest and realistic in what their doing. Keep doing what your doing bud. Great job, supportive Mrs and bikes. Sorted. 👍
I’ve got the same bike nice to see it back I’ve had mine over 3 yrs and looked around to see what’s out there but decided at 64 it does all I need so put a yrs bmw extended warranty on it and will keep it agree with you on clutch it can be snappy when cold it’s been better since service so new oil must help but when pushing bike out from shed I put it in gear and pull clutch it seems to help free plates.
I think youre doing great pal, nevermind the big guys. Ive not had any issues myself but i have heard of beef between the original motovloggers (2016 crowd) in the UK and the new people coming up. Fresh content probably doesn't take away views but it does make the old formats look stale which puts the pressure on the old guard. Interesting times to be in 😊. Keep doing you and youll be fine, youre the only rebuilder i know of in UK so thats great! Cheers, Sean
As stated here already mate, Do ur own thing 👍 Most other channels review a bike that’s already been done a dozen times by everyone else. You have ur own style and angle, keep it going 👍 I’m honestly sick of seeing certain people on you tube, mostly advice from people who have only been riding a year or two giving us plus 40 year bikers advice. 😂 Keep going as u are dude 👍
Aircraft Dispatcher for work, fixer upperer of old bikes for fun. Looks like we're both in the private aviation business, I fly them. Good luck with the Wet Dream build.
I watch a number of content creators on YT, mainly as a means of feeding my obsession for motorcycles and a means of switching off from the work I do. I see creators start off with a unique perspective which is what makes their content interesting, then they seem to start chasing views and you see them become more like everyone else - and then you end up with what often seems to slight variations of the same message, and often from product launches they all attend. Unless you see your content as a means to earn income and so need to chase the content that reward with likes and subscriptions, keep doing you. BTW I (still) have the prior model of the R (really marginal gains and the upgrade price would find a nice off-road bike…fewer enforceable limits off road…) and good to know the time it takes for oil to warm up so as to safely revs - always been cautious when the motor is cold and good to know I was not being too conservative
Wow what an intresting job you have. I would have loved to have done something along those lines. Maybe in my next life lol. I would love to see you have a go at a 70`s Two Stroke. I have a 1975 Suzuki GT750 'Kettle' Ah the smell of castrol R😁
