I’ve always wondered what it would be like to hunt at Venice Beach! I guess the random finds do match that beach perfectly!
Yeah, not my first choice but we have found some cool stuff. There is a large homeless population so you have to be on your toes re: finds. You really never. know what you will get.

I just love how Bill builds the anticipation before a toy sound.
As usual, Christine's 'noise' cracked me up, and as usual had to watch the noise a 2nd time.
Its funny.... You guys have found a few things with blue eyes the last couple months.
Just adult children I guess...lol. We do find lots of the eye things. I had no idea how many are out there.
Good hunt. Lots of clad and some Sunglasses. Some old beach trash never ending for us to pick up.. Happy Hunting. Peace

I did have my hat and went back to the truck for water. I am going to have to carry a larger bag when it is this hot for extra water and a snack. The eyes are interesting but we do find a lot of them

Good video Bill, you found some cool stuff. Not bad, that silver pen looked expensive. A hunt would not be complete for you guys unless you found some tent stakes. I'm glad Christine and Buddy joined you at the wrap up. You had another nice day to be out there. Take care guys, catch you in the next one.
I have so many tent stakes. When I started detecting, I tossed them. I have been saving them for a while...not sure why but I have a box of them. Used tent stake salesman...lol. If Christine can't hunt I try to at least include her in the wrap up. Not the same without her. Oh and Buddy likes to be involved too...lol

I do enjoy walking around Venice. It is full of character. Hunting is really hit and miss there. Gotta be on your toes for sure
Thank you SO MUCH for putting out another vlog today. I’ve been struggling with something for two months, taking it in stride but today I reached my limit (boom!). I can’t control when other people will not do their jobs thus leaving me helpless to fix my situation. Watching both of you and the beautiful views of Venice Beach where my late husband and I roller skated ourselves to exhaustion in the 1970’s, helped lower my blood pressure. Buddy with that sweet demeanor and gorgeous green eyes, mellowed me out completely! Bill, you put in a hard day’s work and found some interesting items, lots of change and another Miraculous Medal. No matter what they are made from, Miraculous Medals all have the same images on each side. I have one that is tiny, made to hook onto a watch clasp. I had a big laugh out of that green screen bug you were petting at the end but the winner of the day, next to Christine’s pretty hair, was the Buddy Cat Loaf. I never thought I would love a cat more than Grumpy Cat (R.I.P.) but Buddy is the King of 🐈⬛ Cats. I wish I could sit in a chair and rock him!

We are happy we can help you find a happy place... Yeah, Venice was so popular back in the day and I bet you had a blast. I did work way too long on this hunt and it showed at the end... at least for me. I was not sure I was going to be able to get out of the truck when I got home... Anyway, we don't do much with the things we find so if you have an interest in the medal, we would be more than happy to send it to you. If not that is fine...just offering. Buddy also says thanks. This'd be a good intro video for potential new detectorists. It shows a representative assortment of 'stuff' that can be found in a full day of dedicated hunting, even on a regularly picked over beach. / It would've been fun to see Christine's reaction to that creepy doll, especially if you'd brought back just the head to save wt/bag-space. 🤪
Oh my, you are awful but that would be funny. She is so jumpy and scares easily. She even hides her eyes when there is a commercial about a scary movie...I agree, we could easily just show the great finds but it is not realistic.

The Buckner part is part of a sprinkler. Should be brass. That timer thing could be a good toy for Buddy.
Hum... that would be funny to see him react to the buzz... may have to try that. Yes, we have had a lot of comments regarding the Buckner piece.... crazy to be out in the sand

Buckner piece is a broken sprinkler valve more likely. A lot of nice finds and plenty of change and an international coin finds also. Too bad about the phone, looks like it was stepped on. one of these days i just might spend 5-6 hours detecting, my longest time is 4 hours total one time earlier this year. Oh and cool green screen.
Thanks for the info. I think 6 hours is now too long for me. I was a little beat down after this hunt. Phone was a total loss and we are going to have some fun with that screen.

Yes, when it is so hot being at the beach before the sun comes up is awesome. I can watch waves for hours.... Christine is sitting here working on her work schedule and says HI. Buddy is hiding because hen already had breakfast...lol

If I’m not mistaken, those are the charging canisters for homemade whipped cream… Not CO2… so basically, you’re finding the remnants of someone huffing laughing gas

Yeah, I need to set limits. My back is getting the better of me. 4 hours is about the max without a good break. Not too bad of a hunt.

Yikes... that sounds painful. I have had back injuries so I do battle with a moderate amount of pain daily. This long hunt magnified that so I really need to limit the time. Hope your not in too much pain.

Canada doesn't use pennies anymore, i think the banks still take rolls of pennies and exchange for its value and that they may still have value in stores,but i have not seen anyone using them .
The federal government decided to take the penny out of circulation in the 2012 federal budget, following a finance committee study that deemed the coin too expensive to produce and no longer necessary.
You have to wonder why the American government won't do the same thing with the penny here. They end up losing millions every year making the stupid penny. Just get rid of it like Canada did.
Fat chance, but I wish a $5. coin would be issued. Some detectorists in Japan find enough 500 yen (now down to US$3.42 from US$5.00) coins on every hunt to pay for gas & buy a GOOD meal.
I think it is like the 3rd or 4th Canadian penny I have found and as Steve says, getting rid of our penny would be awesome. It will take a lifetime to get them out of the ground...lol
5 dollar coin...hum. The dollar coins did not do well here. I feel if we did get rid of the penny somehow it would benefit the stores/gov... they would probably round prices up so we pay a little more@@OLdweeb
Those Mylar seals can throw you off. Aluminumised plastic. The Buckner from Fresno brass piece is a counterbalance for a pulsating water sprinkler. What an odd place to find that piece.
Yeah, they always sound so strong but I never have found a good target with a VDI at 6. Still have to check. Thanks for the info re Buckner. With so many homeless in that area, I am willing to bet one was carrying it around and dropped it.
Have you noticed that the second RUclips videos end, they immediately switch off to another video. It doesn’t give us a chance to comment so I have to start from my home page to go back and leave a comment. The other thing that recently began happening is that I can’t get the COMMENTS window to open because there is often an ad sitting below the first comment. Today I swept the little ad down off my screen with my finger and was finally able to make my first comment. (This is my second.) If anyone knows a way to stop RUclips from immediately going to another video (ones to which I don’t even subscribe), I’d love to know. 🎉
There is a tab on the bottom section of the video that is to control Autoplay. I think you can click on that to turn it on/off. looks like a pause button on my screen.
You know €20 is a little more than $20. those cartridges that say whip it are nitrous oxide cartridges I'm pretty sure, they're for a do it yourself whip cream Maker.

I went out today for six hours. I found a bunch of change a few pulltabs couple bottle caps couple bullets pair of goggles and a couple balls. Well.... the choice is not hers. They are forced to work extra shifts. They say 5 but in reality they have to do 8. It seems like they can never hire enough to keep up with attrition.
