Thank you Keith. You are very much appreciated. I must have missed the drama that some people don't like people sharing diagnostic tips on youtube. I seen Paul Danner mentioned it on Facebook earlier, but I didn't read all the details. Anyway, after 29 plus years in this field, one thing has never changed much. Factory flow charts still barely scratch the surface. That's why what you and many other great guys and ladies who share your experience and knowledge is a blessing to many people around the world. Yes I want to say thank you and I could almost say I love you. I'm dealing with this exact problem as we speak and now I know "THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO" I know what it is. So thank you GOD bless you and KEEP MAKING THOSE BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS.
We saw these come in from time to time with that same problem, and STRONGLY recommended a trans along with all the rest of the underlying problems. The few times we tried to fix those, and do the flushes, the trans only lasted about a couple months. "if you like your cup holder, you can keep your cup holder, but ya gotta pay for it...'
Great video! I seen the coolant in the transmission before but never a blown fuse. Probably needs a new transmission by now. The friction clutches in the transmission gets damaged with coolant so easy
BIG BILL!!! Those auto transmissions from Nissan ARE about...... uummm i cant remember but lets just say you can buy 3 of those 08 pathfinders with no issues. If you were inclined to have this repair done by a dealer and you have no warranty. I totally agree with you Keith the information should be out there and it should be mostly free. At the end of the day the average person is not going to bother with looking for this info or even attempt to take on such a job. So most of the time this info is viewed by automotive professionals and the occasional DIYer... You know that old saying, you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make em drink.
A very apt dedication mate. The 1% are failing to realise that it's us, the content creators, that are inspiring people to learn, to attend training and to be the best they can be. They won't stop this train. 👍
As a DIY'er, information like this is great when you don't see problems like this often enough just to know from experience. I do not understand why someone would't want this information shared. It helps all of us regardless if you are a DIY person like myself or a seasoned pro. Oh and what is a cup holder? My 1987 Toyota doesn't even have one. :)
All your videos help us out. I have an 06 Frontier. I bypassed the cooler in the rad. It has an air cooler in front of radiator. It works perfect. Nissan has had that problem of faulty coolers for many years. Why???????
Haha! I thought I was the ONLY crazy one that got annoyed at cup holder positions! One of my utes(Triton) is the same, cup holder is covers the radio display & drives me NUTS!
I hate the way that some people, in some professions try to keep the information and knowledge they have secret from good motivated people who legitimately want to learn, or from people who may , in this case, be in need of of a diagnosis but really cant afford to have their car towed to a shop etc etc. . The auto diag and repair community on the you tube are very generous for the most part and I think thats awesome. PDR guys and locksmiths are the worst at sharing information....knowledge from those guys is only shared among those in their secret little clubs.
That's Radical!! I'm guessing that your going to have to pull the transmission in order to replace the valve body. Some valve bodies have detent's and can be a nightmare to do in car repair.
More than likely the trans will require a overhaul due to the glue on the clutch plates is water soluble and the frictions will flake apart I can't tell you how many I've rebuilt the late 90s caravans with the 3 speeds did this also
I never understood why sharing common failures bothered people. I say thanks for doing so. Haha Nissan isn’t the the only one. Google Acura service bulletin 17-009. Same problem, coolant and and ATF both mix in the ATF warmer. Replace trans, radiator, hoses, engine block and heads due to overheating. I’ve done a few, it’s a mess.
I was in a situation where a customer used a video to tell me that the job could be done in a shorter time, then what book time said it could be and I should only charge him that video time instead of book time. I said no I'll charge you book time and that's that. I'm sorry but that is just how it works. He took it somewhere else. 2 months later he brought it back to fix the other shops mistakes. And I informed him that I would charge him book time plus any additional work that was need to fix the mistakes the other shop did. He agreed. Needless to say I only charged him book time and he thanked me for doing the job right. Plus Thanked me for treating his car like a $100,000 vehicle. Plus appoligized. My labor rate is a far rate. And I charge what I do cause I do the best job possible and give a vehicle the best diagnostics and repairs possible. That includes detailing the vehicle, making sure its washed if needed. If I worked for free well then I could do half ass hack jobs. And that I'm not intrested in doing.
👍 👍 Thanks 🚹... Use newer oem radiator as well, nissan transmissions are picky when it comes to the cooler. Cheap radiator can cause trans cooler line pressure differences. And cause other issues 👍 👍

Hey man, I have a 08 pathfinder. It will crank like it’s trying to start but won’t start. There’s no corrosion or buildup in the radiator cap but after removing the cap and putting it back on, it starts
Does anyone know if aftermarket radiators solve this problem? Looking to buy one of these used. I read that nissan used cheap metals in the radiator that corroded easily.

Great video I believed it was this but took to the dealer for diagnostic to verify and 145 dollars later they said replace radiator multiple flushes and replace transmission funny thing is my transmission feels good it just doesn’t start only when I run a ignition button to the starter from the battery and keep attempting to start than it starts but no cranking from key they say it’s the transmission blowing a fuse but my fuse isn’t blown is there any chance of saving my transmission?
LOL I was screaming the cooler is shot and took out the TCM LOLOLNICE! I always tell my customers to let us install an external trans cooler to those POS trucks before this happens.
Hi sr. I wanted to ask. How much it would cost to fix the nissan if I went that rout. I have one with the same exact thing. I already put a new radiator and flushed the lines about 10 times. All clean. But now I need to fix the transmision solenoids and things like that. I think someone told me it needs a flash also. Idk. How much would that be. That will determine if I fix it or not. Thanks..
