Dude, you saved my ass last night. I was stranded about 30 miles from home and my 2013 Nissan Frontier would not even crank. I've had issues before with loose battery terminals so I thought that was the problem. I went through lookin for corrosion and cleaned anything that even looked like it was corroded but with no effect. Then I saw your video. I cycled through the gears and left it in neutral and it finally cranked and turned on! Thanks to you!
Very good information and advice. I change the ignition relay after spending time effort and money and it was a simple solution. Thank for your video that helped me a lot and solved the problem with hard start . I changed fuel pump, valve covers, fuel injectors, coils, spark plugs and vacumm hoses myself after spending money with an mechanic with no etic. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK in your proffessional live.

I had a reoccurring issue for awhile started with random lights being thrown while driving( vdc). Cleaned up connections and problem went away. Problem came back and then changed the fusible link, positive terminal connector and battery. No problem for awhile. Then all of a sudden it would die driving down the road or do some herk n jerk accelerating. Changed cam pos. Sensor and crank pos sensor. Problem went away for a few months. Then this summer no start no crank nothing... cleaned connections, new ipdm. No start. Bought another nissan oem fusible link started right up. Today get home from a drive go to start and no crank no start check engine. Clean connections replace fusible link again nothing. Tap on starter and now it starts every time..... 2012 frontier with 67k. Electrical problem child. The fusible link is weak link

But after some day the same problem come again. Sometimes car radio never switch off after ignition off. Sometimes radio turned off by itself. Yesterday i heared a clicking sound from IPDM for 1 minutes and now car is not going up from 1500 rpm. I don't know what to do. Please help me
I have replaced the starter and alternator. Mine is a 2011 xterra s. It sometime cranks sometimes doesn’t but when it does crank it just sits there. Battery is good. Connection is good. The terminal to the battery is good. Idk im at a loss. Anything would help thank you.

Do i have to check for ground while stay on park and neutral and nothing on the other or having ground on all of em and be powered when only staying on park or neutral?
Okay so, the range sensor will send a proper signal when the car is in either park or neutral only. So you can do it two ways, my favorite is the one I can do myself. Probe the signal wire I talk about with a test light. And then ground the light. In park and neutral it should light up. It should not light up in any other position basically what this is telling the car's computer is that you're in a proper gear for the car to start. Because you don't ever want to try to start your car in first gear. So that's what you're looking for when it comes to that does a test light probe the wire ground it getting the car where you can see it and then as you work through the gears it should only light up and park and neutral.
2024 here we are lol… 2016 Nissan frontier sv 4.0 ran fine started it a couple hours later only one click when cranking… replaced battery, and starter. Same problem.
@@Mctfit okay, I would check the grounds. If you are getting anything then it shouldn't be the neutral safety switch. But just for fun try it in neutral too.
I have exactly the same problem no crank on a 2012 nissan juke. All dash lights etc work but radio turns off when i try to crank. No starter motors clicks...so im guessing its definetly starter motor dead.

@@andregarcia4579 I'm not overly familiar with the car, However there is a list of things that can possibly cause the issue. Timing belt, low battery voltage, wiring harness issue. Unfortunately as soon as wiring is involved you are going to be checking and taking notes on everything. I'm sorry I couldn't nail it down.
Im haveing real issues 2007 nissan pathfinder v6 4.0 tryed to start after removeing starter to do timeing chain did not start fule pump does not come on just a click at the inside fuse box i need help plz thx
@FredCarson-t9x okay so fuel pump isnt kicking on? And no starter noise? I would start by going back over every connection that you removed. Grab a note pad and work everyone and write it down.
@@Usmanali-jb5ul do you have another lights on your dash? Do you have an engaged security system? What is the voltage reading on your battery? Have you checked the ground to the block to make sure it's not loose or broken? Checked all fuses in the car? Have you checked fuseable links on the positive battery cable? Are you getting any voltage to the starter? Are you getting a start signal to the starter?
I'm not super well versed in that year. But after an accident most cars shut off the fuel pump to try and prevent fires. You may want to look into a fuel shut off / or inertia switch.
@Not-a-real-mechanic hey my friend I have a 05 pathfinder and while I have the key on and my fuel pump primes for 2 seconds the shuts off then primes then shuts off it does this until I remove my key any idea.?

When it doesn't crank... Does it do anything or just dead silence? How is the ground to the block?

I have the same problem in the same Pathfinder car. Until now, I have not found the fault. What was the main cause of this fault?
The starter I think for me was the main culprit. However I also had very corroded cables from the battery to ground.
Others I've talked to about this had a bad ipdm or blown fusible links on the battery.

Battery is brand new, my old starter tested good at AutoZone but I still bought a new one just in case. Same problem just clicks one time.

Yes if you have a black IPDM you'll need a relay removal tool white IPDM it comes out just by pulling it the black replacement relay is 284B7-CW29E

The ipdm is on the firewall on the passenger side.
Ignition relay is the same as the ecm relay on those new ipdm?

I also have a pathfinder 2015 no crank no start some time and no headlights any solution? If i replace this ipdm problem will be solved?
Without running a bunch of tests no one can say definitely that it will fix the issue.
