    I'm a gun guy. I've owned more firearms than most folks could imagine. However, I believe things like this are not to be dismissed for personal protection. I played paintball a lot as a kid and had many airguns.
    I carry my gun but lock up all the others. When I'm not home but my wife and child is home, everything is locked up, and my wife doesn't even care for guns, but she could definitely use one of these for defense.
    We typically have good pepper sprays, sticks, and blades she can use. She has a gun, but it's locked up, and she doesn't carry it even at home.
    This tool is on the list to get. Very good Joe.

      The pepper spray option or the Mace pellets are the best deterrent but I wouldn't indoors, but the plastic pellets are tough, there are also aluminum all work well....it should be legal for carry in your state...

    Those are pretty cool and definitely better than nothing if you get in a bad situation and either don't or can't carry a gun. Great Video.

    Having been hit by my son's SD(my fault) I can tell you from personal experience that the kinetic rounds hurt like hell when hit in the ribs from 15 feet away. The average distance for most assaults is 7-10 feet.
    This launcher will stop most people in 1-2 hits, but let's be honest if someone is attacking you, you're gonna be unloading the entire magazine on them to ensure you can get away. There are other types on the market and I own a few, but the SD has been the most reliable with over 1000 rounds being used in it over the last 2 years.

    Joe while I do value the whole non-lethal self-defense option personally speaking I prefer myself defense options to be highly lethal with a 100% kill rate My philosophy has been shaped through personal experience and working with x veterans who my old manager Rodger who is an army ranger said that charlie tango I believe a best threat is a threat that is dead and I'm very much in tune to agree with him if someone puts my friends or family in danger I'm putting them 6 ft in the ground with no remorse and no second thoughts now I completely respect your opinion and I completely respect your belief in non-lethal self-defense as a viable option I just want to say that in case anyone takes us out of context it's just that in my personal opinion I believe that the best threat prevention is to destroy the threat love the content Joe

    Thank you for the review. I noticed that you and your son do not need hearing protection. I have been attacked by dogs while on my horse. I am apprehensive about carrying a firearm on the while I am on my horse because I don't want to damage the horses hearing. This system seems like it would work as a self and horse defense against dogs without damaging the hearing of my horse. What do you think?
    GREAT VIDEO

    OK, well done with your video… Two things you might wanna let your audience know how far away you are from the object when shooting I believe Byrna gives you a good 60 feet… And two I don’t believe you shared that there’s a part in front of the site of the gun that if a projectile is still up there it will be a little elevated to show you you have a projectile still in the gun…

    Not sure if I missed it but does it pierce the skin if so can it cause a bleed out.

    • @JoeSteel1
      @JoeSteel1  12 дней назад

      I believe I replied to this but it wasn't saved....no it will not break skin, the .68 Caliber ball too large, not enough force, but will leave a nasty welt and is very painful, thanks for watching

    They say only use Byrna kinetic rounds… If anything goes wrong with the gun, they’re not gonna replace it if you use any other kind

      Ofcourse to sell their brand...but yes always safe to use the brand products for warranty, I'm just cheap...😀

    • @Joreel
      @Joreel 18 дней назад

      Unless you post a video showing you using another brand of ammo, or you're using aluminum rounds, Byrna will never know. I've used rounds I bought off of Amazon and they worked great and cost less than $20 for 100 rounds. I've also used different CO2 in my Byrna and found that it really doesn't make that much of a difference as long as you're using a name brand CO2 and not some cheap Chinese brand.

    I am tempted to buy a EP before they are gone because they are discounted, the onlt down side is, its only around 10 joules, 280ish fps on first mag, i think adrenaline may over power that, the le is to much so i pass, i have a mercury rise mub 50 thats is average 14 joules with 2.8 grams, and umarex and mercury rise pepper rounds are good enough for a 50cal, they are hot, i seen some videos where bryna pepper rounds barely work and some they are very bad, i guess each batch is not the same!

    • @JoeSteel1
      @JoeSteel1  5 месяцев назад

      That's good info to know...thanks for sharing

    • @Joreel
      @Joreel 18 дней назад

      The downside of 50 cal is that the amount of pepper powder in the Pepperballs is about 2/3 of what's in the 68 cal rounds so you really need to empty the magazine to get full effectiveness of the chemical rounds. The biggest advantage of the 50 cal is that they are easy to daily carry and conceal if necessary. I carry a 50 cal LTL Bravo (18-20 Joules) as my EDC. Chiappa is releasing a newer more powerful version of their LTL line later this month and I'm hoping it gets to the US by the Fall so I can get it and let my poor Bravo retire.

    • @JayJone5169
      @JayJone5169 18 дней назад +1

      @@Joreel right, I only have 50 cal mercury rise mub 50 and torpedo revover, a Streetwise heat and the hdp50 compact, which is the worst weakest gun out of the rest, it jams and have to be silicone sprayed every few months, the torpedo does have bigger pepper rounds that have more in them, but I plan to get a salt supply s2 next 68 cal!

    You didnt just call a "magazine" a "clip" did ya???????
    Clips HOLD the rounds in place, as you strip them into the magazine.
    Mag or magazine.

    You might want to get some firearm training before you continue to handle that weapon anymore. Nonlethal or not, you still should hold to common firearm rules and practices. Muzzle discipline is real, and you definitely need to practice that. Your hands where infront of the weapon so many times it was difficult to watch and you definitely need to work on your grip because you will absolutely be missing a thumb at some point if you continue to shoot using that grip.
    Its cool letting people become aware of the options out there but any time some one handles a fire arm they should at minimum know the 4 main rules of fire arms whether it is a pellet gun, pepper gun or a real gun.

    • @JoeSteel1
      @JoeSteel1  Месяц назад

      That is very sound advice for myself or anyone handling a lethal or non lethal, thanks for taking the time to comment 👍
