- This one is a wild one! This endgame build for Barret is absolutely ridiculous and brings so much fun to hard mode. There are so many build possibilities in this game it just keeps us wanting to play more. I really hope for DLC in any way for this game. Even a boss attack VR mode please square enix! Barret Kamikaze nuke build is a definite keeper you are going to want to try out. götterdämmerung translates to “twilight of the gods” I totally googled the sh*t out of that.
Yup! I got tired of disappointing my German fanbase by saying it wrong so I opted for the easier Norse translation haha. They didn't want to officially call it Ragnarok because that's a weapon cloud gets in FF7. So I figure they plan to bring that back for sure!

@@BltzZ it's okay. German is one of the most difficult languages and the word "Götterdämmerung" is also a very difficult word even for us Germans. It's from Nordic mythology and means almost the same as "Armageddon". When I saw the first view clips where it was mentioned I though why you don't take another word for it or call it like "GD" or something. But Ragnarok has to do with the Götterdämmerung so you solved this problem very well. Btw. Nice guide again. Maybe try this method with a weapon with more mgcAtt and you will almost need only one self-destruct to fill up the whole limit. Worked with the mythrilsaber,EKG-cannon for me. With 1-2 magic ups and a fury ring it works the best. The. More damage you deal from self-destruct the more limit you will gaine. ✌️✌️✌️

@@BltzZ I was thinking that as well; would be sick if you could fight any boss in the VR. I've decided to set up key save files before every good boss fight when I next play through again, so I don't have to battle through to each one from the start of each chapter. The combat in this game makes it very difficult to retire from even after platinum
I bet the development team at SE have put proper work into the skill system for all these different builds, imagine what we can do in part 2 when we get access to more materia and weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if this build right here was not even the best one amazing as it is, the possibilities.....

I remember setting up Vincent in the og ff7 with his death penalty one shotting enemies linked with counter and cover was ridiculous cant wait to see what they do later on with the other characters
I hope they keep that combo going in remake 2! I'd love to see the original combinations make it back in this game. Even some minor glitches as references or Easter eggs haha

well FF7 og was ridiculously easy to break, they're not gonna let you do that as we can see in remake. Balancing was actually considered this time lol.

Hey great vid. I have a lil question about the last 2 materia that u said were optional. As I don't have enough materia to make every party members build OP what should I use to replace those 2 last materias in this build ? I lack 1 HP absorbtion and 1 deadly dodge. What should I put in there instead of these 2 with this specific build ?

Are you sure you can get Gotterdarmung on Normal mode ?..When you enter simulator ob chapter 17 it ask you on Hard mode ?

So does Warding have to be maxed out 3***'s? Or will it have the same full effect at 1 star (25% resistance/reduction)? Because you were saying reduction in time of e.g.: sleep/silence/poison etctctc ya know?
And technically self destruct causes Insta-death and that isn't really a prolonged negative effect, it's I mea n it's instant lolz? Any inputs please??? Thank ya blitz and your community of awesomeness! (;

***Elemental+fire(on armor)
***Elemental+fire(on weapon)
***HPabsorb+fire (extra safety)
***HPabsorb+weapon skill (thinking the self destruct would = fire damage and be nullified 100% from the elemental on armor and in case it didn't I had that same element being absorbed hahaha
The higher warding is the more percentage if has a chance to proc Basically. So being at 100% you will always live provided your health is high enough and you regain health back from enemies. It's a cool and flexible strat. You can even max out your magic damage and insta die but increase your limit break to max

Yesss!!! Kamikaze Barret FTW!!! Gotter is absolutely broken which is why I avoided using it all throughout hard mode. You’re absolutely right though, its still uber fun to go back into the game after plat & see what new things you can play around with. Can’t wait to see what they’re gonna do with Red, Yuffie, Vincent, Cait Sith & Cid in the next installments.

so they fixed the "full from 0 limit break" from using self destruct/warding/subversion combo? i remember watching 4-8bit using that combo to get a full limit break gauge from 0
You can still do that if you have two magic ups, super high magic stat and fury ring as well for good measure. I'll make a seperate video specifically going about that. That method is great but cost MP since you have to raise that teammate to bring them back. I was going for the no MP but big heals approach :)

This reminds me I need to get my FFVII videos out. It's hard staying focused when my computer is so slow. Whenever I try to do anything in Premiere the window freezes for about 3 or 4 minutes.
Hardware slowdowns are a real bummer but try to get stuff down to get the ball rolling
Here's a fun gimick build with self destruct.
You can get unlimited Limits with self destruct if you got high enough magic stat. The trick is to have warding against death and kill yourself with super high damage (you'll deal way more than 9999 damage to yourself, but the game only display 9999) so because you overkill yourself with so much damage you instantly get Limit. Have a secondary character revive your main character and you can self destruct over and over again to gain as many limit breaks as you want. I've actually seen some speedrunners use this trick to defeat bosses.
Eg setup for Cloud:
Against bosses: Mythril saber, 2x maxed magic up, fury ring (to deal and take extra damage), warding + subversion, enemy skill, refocus x3 for stats, bahamut.
Against mobs: Iron blade (reprive will make so your character doesn't go down after self destruct), 2x maxed magic up, fury ring (to deal and take extra damage), warding + subversion, enemy skill + hp absorb, refocus x3 for stats, bahamut. Because you deal less damage with Iron Blade you'll need to hit 2 or more enemies to get Limit.
I saw the instadeath strat as well for those boss guides. Really impressive stuff what people come up with for speed runs!

You get 1 from chadley initially and you can buy the other 1 from him as well

@@BltzZ I ended the normal mode in 60 hours, it was difficult for me, so now I'm in chapter 12 in hard mode and my worst fight was dynamite body
Take your time absorbing the information for hard mode there is no rush, be sure to save MP till final bosses or end of chapters where you can go ham using it!

Haha it's not a bug actually it's a intended addition into this system with so much depth. I love ff7 for the materia system they go really ham with the details. Instant death is a debuff so warding plus subversion help you survive instant death basically.
BltzZ won’t work if your magic is super high, you still die. Maybe you’ll survive if it hits a bunch of enemies.

So I have been trying this out. It so happens you tested this just right. This method only works with weapons with reprieve for some reason. Warding instant death from self destruct without reprieve still seems to kill you...been trying it out a while now. Wrecking ball so happens to have reprieve on it.
Also, definitely better on a magic based weapon which would mean the ekg cannon would be better. I am chapter 15 hard....will test further when I get back Aerith as she could probably destroy everything with this.
Not at all actually. On live stream yesterday I used the steel pincers, which does not have reprieve. To get 2 limit breaks against behemoth. If you have fury rings on or magic ups Barret will damage himself too much to heal enough health back.
@@BltzZ I wonder what I am doing wrong...been testing it on Cloud and it was only working with his two reprieve weapons. I wonder if the damage is overwhelming the healing? I will review again.
Clouds base magic stats are very high and it's possible that he's just doing too much damage haha. Try reducing his magic stats maybe so you can use it multiple times? Also you can get an instant limit break if you max out the magic stats and have Gotterdammerung on. The premise is to use clouds limit break then self destruct to die and get a limit break back, cast arise repeat lol
@@BltzZ Thanks for the reply, yeah I think what was happening was the self damage was outweighing the healing. As you pointed out it is key to try and hit multiple opponents to regain a lot of HP. It does seem that the magic stat not only causes the move to do more damage to opponents but yourself, I didn't think about that. Which means in my other comment this may not be suited for Aerith afterall....since she is a magic nuke.
How do I get Bahamut and Leviathan materia
You need to complete the bahamut and leviathan challenges from chadley in the story. Just play through and you will unlock those materia missions from chadley.
But I have been through the game twice and I still can't seem to get the 200 percentage in staggered.
@@brianrussell9223 do fat chocobo fight. After he is staggerd use tifas triangle attack. And eariths ray of judgment on him. Stay in controlle of tifa and spam unbridled strength and triangle attack.
Or fight any enemie that you can use stop on. Once they are staggerd use stop on them. The stagger bar will freeze giving you extra time to build that stagger damage.

I see that some people are still playing this game so I guess it's normal that I am already on my 4th straight playthrough. I can't stop and I am not even hunting for trophies, everytime I finish the game I immediately start a new game. No skipped sidequests and cutscenes. I haven't played a different game since I got this and it looks like I am going for 5 while waiting for ghost since I will not play the game I have been waiting for 5 years.

You need 250SP to get the final core for every character. Make sure to lookup a hard mode guide on where to find the sp. I don't have one
This is quite interesting. I know Aerith is meant to be ranged but she could potentially do the most damage with this as self destruct scales with magic...but definitely suits Barret the most, my reason being I see him as a cyborg of sorts so that move suits him the most. When I get Redx as playable next game...think I will dedicate him as a blue mage as he seems the most fit to be one...probably tied with Vincent.
Yeah I view Barret as cyborg sometimes as well. I can see Vincent being the blue mage taking over Barrets role for my party. I do hope they do a similar situation like FFX where all characters are playable for battle
@@BltzZ I hope so to but in this action setting I have a feeling not. I also wonder if they will allow 4 active party members like FF15 in the next part? Although the original 7 is 3 at a time. I hope they incorporate FF15 linked attacks next time around. Also, the whole AI tweak to let ranged characters actually stay away from bosses...lol
