Tifa is by far my favorite character in the game, and I think is now top in video games, she is so fun to play I adore her...I think the only thing we are missing from FF7R is just download content in the Combat Simulator, just keep adding new bosses and challenges while we wait for part 2 and you'll keep us forever...btw your channel rocks! Helped me sooo much in the both play thrus (normal and hard) I keep coming back thank you very much!

DUDE! I cannot WAIT for Vincent! I hope he plays in a similar fashion to Dirge where he has melee and ranged attacks. I did a Black Mage Vincent run on the original after I finished the Remake and it was so much fun. Destruct/Added Effect for Deathstrike because that's so thematic it hurts, and since you don't need to basic attack, you never have to Limit and transform unless you decide to, so you can basically used the Limit Break as a built in Haste to keep up your spell dps.
Obviously, this will be different in Remake, but I plan to fully experiment with Vincent in every way possible. Ranged characters are so good in this version of the game, I have to have at least one (I usually take both with Cloud when I do Top Secrets).
Red XIII is hype but I'm most excited for Cid and Vincent, I'm gonna get my Dragoon on so hard with Remake Cid, it'll probably be like when I first played with Tifa and never wanted to switch off of her.
Wish the Sonic Strikers were named the Sonic Knuckles for that Sega flair

Absolutely love your builds, and other content. You mention adapting builds to your environment. Have you considered making guides to prepare for specific areas, and enemies, bosses, ect?
I have boss guide videos on that specifically but I haven't considered making chapter specific or area specific builds that would be interesting!

tifa was pretty op in the orginal game. her limit break could one shot most bosses as well. at least at the point where i am at.
I always kept tifa in my party and suplexed monsters and giant robots with her lol..but her limit break was never consistent cuz of slots unless you're good at it. Tbh the best party actually is Cid Yuffie and cloud for end game their stats and limit breaks break the game. But my OG team was Cloud RedXIII and Tifa. Sometimes I swapped red out for vincent

I’m so doing this build. Tifa is definitely a glass cannon. But makes up for it for the huge amount of damage she can deal. Sometimes I even think she’s stronger than Cloud...but each character is still unique at the end of the day. I’m currently doing my own boss run and am on Jenova Dreamweaver...could u do a guide for that please?

I love the damage of metal knuckles takes but I stick to learning skills of each glove and then after that use the metal knuckles throughout the game it takes some sweet damage
The Focused Strike + Deadly Dodge combo done repeatedly is super effective against the last boss in this game, specifically in his last phase.
It was all meant to come together on the cheeks of sephy himself!

I have one question: do you always start the fights with "Unbridled Strength"? I must keep it lvl 2-3 until stagger and then raise the %? Another question: you always get chi buffs during battles using command menu? No shortcuts? Thanks again!!!

New Materias, boss time attack mode and omg imagine coop VR with 2 other friends!
In the section where you fought the fat chocobo, you pointed out how fast tifa got ATB back after using chi trap and deadly dodge. Is that specific to those abilities or is it related to the materia you used on her? I typically use first strike on Tifa so I can immediately increase chi level but considering giving it to aerith instead since she feels really slow at building ATB. Keep up the videos man you are doing an amazing job with them. I look forward to learning about more cool builds from you
First strike definitely give it to aerith and cloud tifa doesn't need it to get rolling. Deadly dodge increases your ATB fast as Tifa. And if you are in chi level 2 or 3 you gain more atb even faster. But ultimately ATB stagger materia is what increased her bars a lot once the fat chocobo got staggered after chi trap
Tifa will always be my favorite, with Aerith being the close 2nd. Black Mage Aerith's magic damage is crazy especially when she happens to cast the enemy's weak element. Couple that with Tifa's stagger damage increase capabilities and....bosses beware!
Those two are a must have on any team. Remake part 2 is going to be tough to split them up! I can't wait to see how amazing the other characters will be when we finally get them

I’m not a fan of fighting games and Tifa’s playstyle requires me some skill to timing combos right (which I don’t have lol). I’m more a fan of magic and mages. Sadly we don’t have that much gameplay with Aerith and the whole team so I can’t play with her too often.

@@BltzZ I have no idea honestly. I rarely even used Cait Sith in the original, but hopefully they'll make him fun to play (we most likely will be forced to play as him just by looking at Part 1).
@@blackout3133 I feel like with Yuffie that she'll be more fast than strong, like she'll have really fast attacks, but they probably won't do much damage unless you upgrade her weapons of course
o man i hade to go solo against fat chokobo to learn all tifa combos and i think im getting better and better now.
controlling all 3 of them was getting in they way of learning her skills

Also, just curious what’s the highest damage output you’ve done on a staggered enemy (without limit breaks) and using what combos?
Mine was like 29,600 HP on Abzu in Chapter 10. My combo was True Strike x3 -> Omnistrike -> Whirling Uppercut -> Divekick -> Whirling Uppercut with Tifa only. Abzu died before I could get another Divekick in lmaoo

I did 12,000 HP with Cloud against Rufus. 3x Braver after casting stop on him in stagger. Not quite 29,600 HP but I was so darn proud of myself after he died to Cloud’s 3rd braver ^_^
I had the hardest time trying to beat him on hard mode XD

I love the Metal Knuckles but this speed and higher matk on Feathered Gloves make me literally unable to get myself to try anything else anymore. I don't use magic often on Tifa but I've learned that Magic is so broken in this game and its nice to have some ready to use (which I do, because Tifa has my Elemental Materia if I have her).

This is my core Tifa build unless I don't have a need for the Algid Aura, but the glass cannon leech build is so good for Hard Mode. Deadly Dodge pressures enemies really quickly, and the animation is so fun and fluid on Tifa. I'm experimenting with Parry more now after hardly ever using it, it's kinda tricky to remember to switch between Parry and Deadly Dodge but I'll figure it out. The Feathered Gloves help with occasional offensive Magic for weakness exposure burst and the Algid Aura, plus I LOVE Chi Trap. I've been streaming for my friends lately and I got a double Chi Trap off on the Wrathhound after a Rise & Fall, Omnistrike, Uppercut into Divekick combo and it literally melted.
Tbh, this Hard Mode stream I'm doing, I've mentioned how useful Blade Burst and Chi Trap are so many times because so many things are weak to Magic and it applies Elemental as well so it can really help to conserve MP. This makes me wanna keep Feathered Gloves on but it's really the speed. I'm so used to Tifa being so fast that using the Metal Knuckles would feel like net less DPS to me, but I was using them exclusively for Hard Mode until I got to Chapter 14 and realized I was gonna have to do a smart build to make my resources stretch through the whole chapter. I also can't bring myself to use Tifa on Top Secrets, I forced myself to do a run with Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith like everyone does and she is just two squishy to hang unless I keep them hammered with GA spells. I also find it difficult to get myself to switch off Tifa and get as much value out of her, but with the other three, I have a good system and balance for how I use them. I love her for clearing mobs of Shinra soldiers though, a lot of her Story fights are really good for her, the raid boss stuff just isn't for me with Tifa.
Both feathered gloves and metal knuckles are the best weapons for tifa to use. Feathered is more versatile for any situation and we'll rounded imo but with how I play tifa for big physical damage I focus more on the metal knuckles. But you got a solid build dude!
@@BltzZ I totally agree, the Metal Knuckles are bonkers and can totally pump out the DPS, I like it a lot when I don't have elemental weaknesses to exploit and I just need to pump out strong punches. Having the backup Magic makes me feel safe in Hard Mode, because some things can be a pain in the ass without it and my new favorite thing has been trying to abuse Arcane Ward when I have Aerith, makes bosses like Abzu vanish, even on Hard Mode. I also like Feathered Gloves for the second highest stats in both categories.
I have a similiar dynamic with Cloud between the Buster Sword and Hardedge, if I don't need magic at all, Hardedge we go. I might experiment with Metal Knuckles some more to see how much higher the dps actually is, I haven't used them in a while.
Whirling uppercut to divekicks is always devastating but with the metal knuckles you can almost always guarantee over 10k total damage

With Metal Knuckles, Ragnarok, elemental+Fire, First Strike, Refocus, Skill master, Chakra, Parry, 2 Luck Ups and a HP Up, and enfeeblement rings on both Cloud and Aerith: that was the most fun Abzu fight I did yet lol

Is this really the best way to build tifa? What about in HArd mode? Its my first playthrough because of ff7 remake being free on ps4 right now. I just want to play as if its hard mode so once I get to hard mode I'll already know what to aim for but I get so side track with side quest and exploring :( I feel like im doing things wrong...
There's no wrong way to play this or right way either tbh that's what's beautiful about ff7 remake. You can make tifa and any character play however! With tifa her defense is always lacking and there isn't anything you can really change about that really. So it's best to take advanced of her strength literally. Also check the unlimited ATB build so you can see how to utilizes tifas abilities and change them without having to use any spells she wrecks houses and feeds everyone else atb
I have this exact same build minus the elemental materia.
Elemental is not 100% needed it's just for that slight extra damage. Or if you want to capitalize on enemies weaknesses
Would it be more useful to have "universal" materia in the defense slots for quick swapping between builds?
That could be a better fit if you find it easy for sure go ahead. Materia placement doesn't matter unless it's elemental materia because it has a different affect when slotted to armor
@@BltzZ You tend to have the same 6 materia used in a lot of builds on a character and there's no quick swap between builds/loadouts (unfortunately).
Crit Tifa vs Metal Knuckles Tifa uses, like... 8 of the same materia, so it's not as big of a deal to go "oh, yeah, just reslot the same ones" but for Cloud or Barret doing full swaps can get painful sometimes :V
Yeah the closest thing to being able to swap easily is to press R1 to show everyones materia. Then hit triangle to select what you want to move then move it around between the 4 characters

Yeah you got it! Attack till pressure and focused strike to raise stagger bar when they are pressured. Deadly dodge during focused strike to cancel and move it around!

Tifa is super fun to play. But she can’t beat the effectiveness of magic builds with Cloud and Aerith. When you can nuke everyone and get mp back you just beat every encounter ridiculously fast. Hard mode bosses generally melts to -aga spell as well. Having the limit break accessory on Barret also nukes everything with Catastrophe. But yeah she is super fun to use. It’s like playing a Tekken beat-em-up game.
The rule of thumb for success in ff7 remake with tifa is to pressure enemies quickly with aga spells via cloud or aerith then go ham with focused strike and focused thrust with tifa and cloud. Once the enemies are staggered it is tifas time to shine by raising that stagger bonus and giving everyone ATB. Then launch spells with aerith and cloud to profit :D
BltzZ During the later half of the game I definitely used blizzaga to stagger bosses and tougher enemies over Cloud and Tifas focus-abilities, is far more superior the amount of stagger inflicted/ATB spent.
During stagger phases I generally build ATB and use ATB for utility abilities (soul drain, unbridled strength, cast haste, set up wards) so I have full ATB and ready to pressure and stagger bosses again within seconds when they get recover from stagger, I generally do enough damage with normal attacks anyway. I only use damage abilities/limit during stagger if it will actually kill.
Also Barret with 3 bar focus shots, some atb assist, overcharge, 2 bar focus shot. It’s perfection 👌.
I generally didn’t use Tifa nearly as much in y hard play through as I did during my normal play through. I just found the other characters more effective, that’s all. She does shine in some instances, like against Eligor. But most of the time she just ended up being the boss-limit-break or parry-to-flee character during my hard play through.

Use unbridled strength 2 times

@@dylanking2003 it's about 10 or 11 square presses to get those kicks. But she has to be in chi level 2. From UB strength
There's several spinning kicks in addition to those from the unbridled strength buffs: deadly dodge, rise and fall also procc these kicks

Is Tifa the only character that can increase Stagger percentage?
Tifa and aerith can, aerith raises stagger percentages with her ability ray of Judgement but it costs 2 atb bars

Gotta keep elemental materia on the armor with lightning so he can heal you back! Also hit him with lightning to break it's razors so you can finally attack it
@@BltzZ Nah, the motor ball is the boss fight when you're on the motorcycle.
If I remember correctly, he basics are guard when it's using mg, move away when it raises it's wheels or starts spinning around, and brake and switch sides against the laser.

Monks are the best and coolest characters in FF. They just roll up on fully robotic enemies and square up with fists!
Players prefer Tifa, Cloud prefers Aerith.

Both of those games aren't even the same genre lol. They didn't finish the story but this is a complete game of atleast 40+ hours of content. Part 2 and 3 will be open world whereas this part 1 was linear
