Very helpful to see the difference between the sizes in detail - thanks ever so for taking the time to be so detailed. I couldn't make up my mind which one to get before I saw this video, but now I've decided :-)
"They" say the 3qt serves 2-3 peeps but it depends on what you’re cooking. The 3qt just isn’t big enough for a pot roast & fixins. This is why, even though there is only my husband & I, we have the DuoPlus30, DuoPlus80 & 6qt Viva. Yes, the whole family of Instant Pots. I do use all 3 (maybe not at the same time. It just depends on what I’m cooking. I use the 3qt for breakfast alot. The bigger IPs are nice fo dinner. I like the 8qt for bigger cheesecakes. Yea, I’m an Instant Pot addict.
It also depends on how much space you got? A single person living in a small apartment anywhere where it's hot and humid from Darwin to Accra to St- Louis would take any heat generating equipment out onto the balcony to do their cooking, that's why there are so few ovens in Southeast Asia, all food is either bought on the street or cooked in the garden or on the balcony.
Thank you! I have been wondering if having more than one is excessive. I have the 8qt duo and I’ve been considering getting the 3qt because I’m single and the 8qt takes so long to pressurize. Let me know if you have any advice. Thank you so much.
Thank you for that it covers the main points which are, do all the sizes have exactly the same menu? If not what should be looking out for? But you make an excellent point they have the same menu, and the update from the previous model is the addition of the yoghurt setting. I also note that they are extremely well finished. :) Much also depends on how much space you've got? You need to show them next to something else for a reference. If you just show two devices next to each other, we still have no idea how large they are.
Without a reference the comparative size is not at all obvious. We only have two objects neither of which we know the size of, that's kind of the point. Suggest Put your hand in there and leave it long enough for the viewer to get an idea, as well as some other common objects, a coffee mug for example, a coffee canister, a fork. Just an idea if the purpose of the video is to decide which size to get. Thank you.
I have the 6 qt even though I cook just for me. Is it worth getting the 3 qt for making rice (along with small batches of food) or should I get a small rice cooker? Im concerned about space.
Same here. I bought mine yesterday, 1-31-23 and it no longer comes with the rice measuring cup or the paddles. I'll make do but unhappy that they opted to leave out these accessories.
Sorry, meant DIAMETER, not CIRCUMFERENCE
I got a question…. Are the condensation the same size??? 1 size fits all???

You should have put something next to the two to show reference of size. Like just show it on the kitchen countertop next to everything.

Maybe put it on a counter to show how much counter space it uses? Or other kitchen objects for scale?
Good idea, need to keep that in mind next time

AHA! I finally found your video again for size comparison. Thanks for a great video.
why not put it next to common objects for a quick visual understanding?
Like a banana, that’s standard practice on the interwebz!!!
Great video. Just what I needed to know. Thanks!
How tall is the 3 quart's stainless cylinder?
Can I fit a couple main jars in the 3?
It can't even fit say...1 sphagetti jar, 2" too short and not wide enough

1 quart = 945 millilitres - so almost 1 quart = @ 1 litre. / for those people who don't live in America or in Edwardian England :)
Good info. Thanks.
I when saw instant pot I said to myself good now I don’t have to go cross town

The bigger the better
But the bigger the more efforts it will take to wash it if you don’t have a dishwasher 😂
