- Damon Daunno and Rebecca Naomi Jones perform "People Will Say We're In Love" from Rodgers & Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA!
Winner! Tony Award® for Best Musical Revival. www.oklahomabroadway.com
“How is it that the coolest new show on Broadway is a 1943 musical?” (The New York Times)
Over 75 years after Rodgers & Hammerstein reinvented the American musical, this is OKLAHOMA! as you’ve never seen or heard it before - reimagined for the 21st century. “This production shocked and moved me,” raves Frank Rich of New York Magazine. “Forget your traditional idea of OKLAHOMA! Daniel Fish’s daring, brilliant, utterly absorbing re-interpretation is dark and different-brilliantly so.” (The Daily Beast) “An audacious, sexy, upending ride” (NY1) that’s “as stimulating and jolting - and as fresh - as last night’s fever dream. OKLAHOMA! is astonishing.” (The New York Times)
Don’t miss the #1 Theatrical Event of the Year (Time Magazine, 2018) and “the hottest ticket in town.” (Town & Country) Now playing in Broadway's most intimate theater, Circle in the Square, for a limited time only.

this goes from yeehaw to good evening m’lady like it’s nothing
WHEN IT SUDDENLY SHIFTS INTO THE REPRISE AND THEIR OUTFITS CHANGE SO SMOOTHLY IM SOFT
yea
Their outfits didn’t change like magic. Not sure if or how it was done in performance.
God his voice makes me feel some type of WAY
Take away the bright colors and the sillyness and you are left with raw romantic intensity. Its always been there, just hiding under the surface of the story. Im glad they have uncovered it. In my opinion Oklahoma has always been extremely romantic, and now we can see it clear as day.
You haven't seen the production, have you?
Yeah sorry but this production is less romantic, more horny
I mean it’s called sexy Oklahoma for a reason-
@@gracejennings9034 I thought it was commonly known as Wokelahoma?
@@99lodewijk Fucklahoma.
The only YEEHAW™ I stan.
HELP, i think i broke my phone screen hitting the replay button
Hey Schmoyoho, you should collab with him, he's awesome
Holy shart it’s schmoyoho
HELP, i think i broke my phone screen hitting the replay button
i’m sorry is damon daunno even allowed to exist because that voice is otherworldly
He did play Orpheus so you're not wrong
A Cote He needs to return as Orpheus after Oklahoma ends
@@ThatsAmore123 So does Nabiyah Be as Euridyce and Chris Sullivan as Hermes, but I guess dreams don't come true
Malcolm Hollis We're just reaching for the stars at that point
Thats Amore yeah sure but Nabiyah Be got big b/c Black Panther & Chris Sullivan is on This is Us which got green lit for 3 seasons
this looks like if Eurydice and Orpheus were transported to an alternate country universe
Makes sense as Damon was Orpheus too
Yeah he played Orpheus in the very beginning of Hadestown’s production process
@@99lodewijk UUH WHEN?? omg
@@99lodewijk That was Nabiyah Be bruh....
That's what I thought too!
I know we all love Damon Daunno but holy shit Rebecca Naomi Jones? Is any human being allowed to possess that much power?
I have to be honest. I don't like Oklahoma, I know, I KNOW. . . but this. . .I'm absolutely obsessed with this. This show absolutely makes my list of top five revivals of all time. WELL DONE
Dude same i was never into the original but this is amazing i can't wait to have this on repeat when the new cast recording comes out
Same here. I've tried watching it before and just couldn't stand it, but this revival? I'm obsessed with it
The end of it though was weird
@@savannah7766 Oh, but I thought just the right kinda weird! I dunno.....
Savannah 77 the end of it is quite shocking
the cast album of this is honestly the one im most hype for (aside from hadestown bc im OBSESSED) it looks so soft and emotional and wonderful and god im just sp rxcited to hear this album it'll be wonderful
June 28!!!
Did you see or read any of the reviews about the show...
Jaynor Diaz i have not!! my eyes just automatically form into hearts every time i hear damon daunno’s voice 😩👌💖
what’s up?
It's polarizing but it got great reviews:
www.didhelikeit.com/shows/oklahoma-3-review.html
I cannot stop thinking about the insane puppy eyes Damon was giving Rebecca at the start of this song when I saw it live.
I really hope to see this on tour since NY is too expensive, I really want Daniel Fish to do a Sexy! Sound of Music and Flower Drum Song.
this video literally invented romance but some people just aren't ready for that conversation yet, i get it
ME SENDING THIS VIDEO TO A NEW PERSON EVERY SINGLE DAY
Can we talk about Rebecca Naomi Jones turning up? That’s my mood of the year.
this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful things i have seen in a long time
his yodeling has taken me to a new level of existence
These are some of the most gorgeous arrangements I’ve ever heard. I wish people can learn to love the original material and appreciate the new contexualized piece. I understand it not being everyone’s cup of tea but the hate I’ve been seeing for this production is ridiculous. Purists are honestly the lowest form of perspective especially considering the history on which the production was created.
Sebastian Gonzalez it’s almost like theatre purists hate the mainstream modern shows for being unoriginal and yet hate shows that reimagine the Classics on daring and innovative ways🤔🤔
Love both versions. Brilliant new version would love to see other classic musicals rearranged and modernized.
What do you mean by: "the history on which this production was created?" Can you elaborate?
@@att1122-n2l The production of Oklahoma was made as reflection of the American spirit, during the height of World War II, soldiers would watch the show before being sent off. Now since this is a drastic rendition of an otherwise popular piece of musical theatre, it would make sense to not update the source material but rather enhance it by reflecting on the reality in which the Americans live today
@@sebastiangonzalez2693 Alright, so we can agree that the original production was a reflection of the era in which it was created. And brilliantly done so by creators who in many ways were way ahead of their time, but still of their time. Moving into this modern production, my question then is: then why not create another show that perfectly reflects THIS era? Instead of trying to stick a square into a round hole -- and then ridiculing people who recognize that as being lowly "purists"? Is there not the talent and vision of a Rodgers & Hammerstein today that could do so? Perhaps not, and that is sad. All that said, there is absolutely room for this production to exist and receive its fair criticism. But I see your form of criticism to be the lowest form of perspective, to be honest.
I swear, I never cared for the corny vibrato singing of the original take on Oklahoma. But I went to the new version a week ago and have fallen in love with every dang song I never gave a damn about because these versions are as romantic and luscious and uproarious as a string lit picnic on a hot summer night. Think Austin. Think Americana. I loved this show and this version of this song keeps bumping Hadestown songs from my head. Orpheous turned into Curley. That voice - is liquid gold. The story line brings out new meaning about society where my heart bleed for Jud Fry.
Debi Rotmil this guy's voice is actually more corny and 'vibrato' y (whatever that means) than the likes of John Raitt, Laurence Guittard, and Robert Merrill, to name a few, who sung it much better, and were much better singers in general.
chk3092 - there’s a Broadway way to sing, I can demonstrate it more than describe it - and this guy doesn’t do that. He sings more natural. He puts in a couple of obvious country hiccups, the kind an 80s hat act would so in pop country, but basically he’s natural.
DAMON’S VOICE IS SO GODDAMN PRETTY
this is what I mean when I wanna do R&H shows
THIS
This has to be the most romantic thing I have seen in years.
Damon give me my heart back
this video sets me on fire, and they don’t even touch each other.
i’ve never fell in love with someone’s voice... until i listened to damon daunno
When those strings come in 😍
This show is absolutely a must see. Nothing short of spectacular
Agree completely!
Hope it travels west !!
these melodies are so so so strong. they crush the tepid nonsense that people pass off as songs.
That harmony at the end gives me chills.
The way they look at each other kills me and brings me back to life so I can watch it again over and over...
if this isn’t the kind of lovey dicey love song I hear when people are expressing love for each other, then I DONT WANT IT
PERIODT
All the credit goes to Rogers and Hammerstein's brilliant lyrics and music collaberations. I am now 71 years old and when in high school we put on the musical play "Oklahoma," and it was always a magical time for all five performance for both the cast and crew. It really was fun too! I will never ever forget those special memories! It's about time the younger generations were exposed to music like I grew up with. Because, THAT is music! (And there is something to be said about trained vibrauto voices, opera for instance.) This " rap crap"
has to go...it is vulgar and it all sounds the same!!
It was ever hotter in person! So much appreciation for this revival, I hope they sweep the Tonys
going to get this video tattooed on the frontal lobe of my brain
the sexiest thing to exist across the board
I've literally watched this every day since I found it like a week ago and I'm not going to stop
i want them to cover every single r&h song out there it doesn't even have to be in a country style just their voices 😍😩
I really wish people would give this show a chance! All of the performances I’ve seen online of this show look amazing, and I’m so glad they’ve come at Oklahoma with a different approach. They’ve made it different and much more complex, and I’m sorry but it needed it. Bravo to Daniel Fish for being innovative and brilliant! And congrats to the whole cast and crew on their much deserved tony win!
my heart is overflowing with love rn
I’m absolutely in love and obsessed
1st play:
aww, this song is so pretty!
2nd play:
wow, um... this is actually very beautiful...
3rd play:

ITS SO ROMANTIC IM CRYING
OMG!! It's 2 o'clock in the morning and I cannot go to bed because I cannot stop playing this video over and over......

DON'T TOUCH MY HAT
You have officially made my day.
This hits differently
Well that was... magical
Well, boy's, you'll be glad to hear Oklahoma is still on Broadway
Is this a band of brothers reference?
this is criminally short
I've been obsessively waiting for the cast recording to be released. Oklahoma! is one of my favorite musicals of all time.
I am so freaking obsessed with this!! Rewatch, rewatch, rewatch. Ya'll are just perfection!
Thank you, Rodgers & Hammerstein. 💕
Wow! An old classic sounding fresh and new.
every time i watch this the absolutely INSANE lighting design takes my breath AWAY!!!
Saw this off broadway. Seeing it again in July. I can not wait. Mind blowing.
I wasn’t really a fan of this genre of music, but after seeing the broadway show... *gotta day I became a new believer* 😂👍🏼
I love this revival so much. Damon and Rebecca are 💖
I literally repeated the outfit transition part like 15 times. The smoothness is just the best! Good job to the guys who filmed and edited it!!!
I don't know about the concept of the new version of Oklahoma, but singing is absolutely fabulous.
Listening to this at 2pm while thinking of that somebody, best feeling
SWOON S’WONDERFUL SPECTACULAR!
This is beautiful. I’ve just seen Oklahoma at the young Vic, in London for the 3rd time. So so so wonderful.
How I wish they made a pro-shot of this revival with this cast. I would pay top dollar to see it!!!
Goddamn how soft and sweet they can sing makes me cry a little. I love this song.
I want to see this so bad 😭 I wish I lived close to where they’re performing
nothing but Respect to my laurie and curly!
This is so divine. I’ve just seen Oklahoma in London, 3 times! It was fabulous
I loved this revival

I always loved this song. This updated version is 🔥
Stunning
OH I LOVE THIS
I, too, would give it all up if Damon Duanno was looking at me like that while singing prettily 😩🤚
I want this played at my wedding
So like... Oklahoma is... really country now?
Aight I’m down
Was it not already country??
@@4dultw1thj0b i never really consider the originial as country music but this definitely gives me Country/Bluegrass vibe
AlwaysGonnaSing it was set in Oklahoma, sure, but the original orchestrations are the foundation of Broadway’s golden age sound. Not country at all.
unus...annuss?
@@4dultw1thj0b Country music as we know it today didn't exist in 1906.
So Beautiful
such a lovely take on a classic
Magnificent!
so excited to listen to the cast album and relive this beautiful piece of art because wow absolutely beautiful

My heart 🥰
I'm so glad I got to see this on B'way, and here's hoping after the pandemic y'all can head out on tour and I can see it again!
Pregnancy test positive
When I here this music and singer voice,It’s so much catch me ! I feeling the movie in 1920”s at ShangHai China -- that time”s and that feeling ......
It's fitting they used old school country music for a show that was created back in the 50's.
I stopped listening to musicals quite a while ago (maybe like 6 months?). I just lost my love for them- before I passionately listened to them. Not a day went by that I didn’t no stop listen to them- but now I haven’t listened to one in forever. But 2016 Hadestown and 2019 Oklahoma are the two that I still have a love for. I don’t listen to them, but I still adore them. Damon Daunno has an incredible voice, and the two musicals I listened to that he were in he just brought a whole new life to them-
Their chemistry phewwww‼️‼️‼️😍🥵😏😫
He’s a superstar yes!
guys i think they might be in love...
THEY SNAPPED
