Dear alex, thank you for your thoughtful and elaborated comparison between mop/vaccum thingy. i just got myself a black + decker steam mop and my life is changed after 2 rounds with steam mopping my kitchen area. Never thought they are so dirty! The steam really agitate all the oil and dirt from kitchen floor especially my wet kitchen. My kitchen floor now feels squeaky clean!
I use a Ecovacs T8 AIVI robot vacuum daily, also for infrequent mopping. The mop function isn't great (could be marginally better because it vibrates) but because it's done so often, it actually picks up little dirt each time and I find it effective. I also set cleaning cycle to prioritize areas and start with key rooms so those are always clean. To supplement, I use a handheld vacuum (dyson), and manual mopping/cleaning with magiclean products. Also have a industrial wet/dry vacuum as standby since have to use for air-con servicing or larger works - I was looking into battery powered for this (e.g. bosch) but got one yet. Dyson is still my brand of choice for handheld vacuum as it's good, lasts super long (I still have 8-12 year old models working great), and 3rd party battery or accessories are easy to get. Other brands worked ok for me but just had to replace sooner especially for battery. Steam mop idea looks interesting but it still doesn't solve general surface cleaning (i.e. non hard floor) or persistent stains.
I have the shark Apex as my go to vacuum, and love it -also have a streamer for kitchen etc, and I'm buying a wireless mop vacume this week. As a fellow clean freak I recommend getting a Purifier, don't get a cheap ones get the high end ones. Stay safe out there.
I been using the Deerma one for last 8 months n I quite like it..yes the cord is short n water droplets can accumulate..however I use intermittent pulses of the steam n it's works well..especially for its affordable price.
I still have my Rainbow that I bought 10 years ago and it's still one of the best cleaning, environmentally friendly and versatile vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. I bought a Dyson V11 thinking that it would be a good supplement to it (for fast cleaning) and it was but it definitely does not clean as well as the Dyson or any of the others I've tried. I recently wanted to get a wet/vac for mopping and also noticed that theTineco had the same Rainbow Hepa concept. After doing some research though, I noticed that people love it when they first buy and use it, but they say that they generally don't last very long. With it's 2 year warranty and their lack of communication with their customers who want to get theirs repaired, it has made me very hesitant about buying it. I suppose that once you own a vacuum cleaner that can last 10 years, it's much harder to tolerate buying expensive cleaning tech that threatens to die within 2 years. I wonder how yours is doing though so I'm going to check out your other videos in hopes that you give us an update on your experience with your Tineco. Be well and thanks for giving us your thoughts on these!
thanks for sharing your experience! The tineco S3 in this video, which is my friend's couldn't work anymore. As it is a China set, there is no way to get warranty support for it. My issue with such wet dry vacuum is that the battery is not replaceable, so technically they can never last for many years. For me, 4-5 years is considered good enough, I like to check out new tech as well so I don't mind to pass down my current equipment and try out something new
My wife and I are an older couple and prefer light weight cleaning machines. We purchased a Tineco A11 cordless vac one year ago and are very happy with it. We liked it so much that we gave one to friends as a wedding present. We looked for a cordless floor mop and found the Tineco iFloor 3. Since we liked our A11 so much, we bought it. It cleans floors quickly and easily and are very very happy with it as well. One thing, though. We found that if we washed the floors without first vacuuming, lint would build up inside of the waste water tank and require a self-clean. When we first started using it, we found that we would have to self-clean a few times. This required emptying the dirty water tank, adding water to the clean water tank, and letting run through its cleaning cycle. It became annoying to have to do this in the middle of "mopping." The solution to this was to first vacuum with the Tineco vac, then use the iFloor. Problem solved!
wow looks like you like tineco products a lot. But the idea of such wet dry vacuum is to speed up your daily cleaning by doing both functions together concurrently. Pouring away the dirty water tank should be fast and easy right?
@@AlexTeo We clean our floors usually once a week and originally thought the iFloor would do both functions. It does up to a point, and then we have to self clean. I guess that since we have a lot of square footage the machine needs to self clean half-way through. You're right, however, pouring out the dirty water is quick and easy. We are still very happy with the product, despite the minor slowdown.
My goodness! Have been watching your videos and I was looking for videos about cordless vacuum and just before I press on the search bar this video is just right there, updated 6 hours ago! Thanks for sharing this!
Hi Alex, understand that steam mop is good and effective. May I know if it is suitable to weekly mopping on vinyl floorings? Some reviews on steam mop indicated that it is not ideal for vinyl or laminate flooring. Appreciate your comment. Thank you.
Exactly what I am looking for. I have 2 cats and a toddler, a robot cleaning and a tradition vacuum (which I find exhausted everytime I use). I'm thinking about buying a steam mop lately and accidentally see your review => subscribed!
I find that I need all, robot (having it), steam, and 2 in 1 handheld vacuum for my house... My house is big with small children and no maid available to help out.. I've been watching all kind of reviews, at last I could decide what I need to top up. Tq tq..
the Steam mop looks good. I am currently using Xiaomi handheld electric mop. cordless and the movement of the mopping cloth gives a polishing effect to the floor. effortless to use as it doubles the effort of the mopping motion.
Great video. Totally agree with you about the robots that mop. As you said, it's essentially dragging a soiled cloth across the floor. :) I got rid of mine after 1 month! However, the ones which spray a mist of water and suck the water back are quite effective. Am currently using a Hizero, which is quite effective.
And having to clean the cloth and top up water so frequently kind of defeat the idea of a robot. Ya hizero is very clean but i have issues with the sides and corners where the mopping cant reach, I will have a video with hizero next month!
Super helpful review! I was looking into buying the Deerma steam mop because the cord is attached to the handle instead of closer to the mop head as in the case of the Black and Decker. That seemed a little less intrusive and better designed. I'm surprised at the difference in the length of the two power cords since both Deerma and Black and Decker state that their respective cords are both 4 meters.
Today is 6.6 and wanted to get a hand-held vacuum cleaner for a really long time. I am a working mom but cook my meals, so badly need effective cleaning equipment to save me some time. Chance upon your video and love your simple, practical and clear presentation. I think I should go with a vacuum + mop cleaner. However, my budget is $400 and below. So the Tineco is beyond my budget and it looks quite bulky, charging station takes up some space.
Very detailed info on the comparison. Just what i needed to help me decide on my purchase between Deerma vs Black and Decker steam mop as i was thinking Deerma has 5 in 1 purposes and seems more affordable. I am also thinking about the after sales service so i think i will opt for Black and Decker instead. Thanks for this! 😁. Nice home btw
I love ur channel , i was struggling with choosing steam mop for past one week . I quickly cancel my deerma steam mop Oder and go for B & D after watch your video . Thank you
Re the new version bnd steam mop, what r pros n cons of using it ? Hot handle? Waiting time for steam production? I bought the deerma n very frustrated w it stopping every now n then More downtime than steam time
i don't fancy vacuum and steam together. Sometime you will see dirt/hair stuck on the floor due to liquid, vacuum will have difficulty picking up those especially if you are going quite fast.
The top robot cleaners allow you to schedule which rooms to clean and to self-clean the mop heads before going to the next room. Robot cleaning is for general maintenance only. Manually steam cleaning is the best, especially for the kitchen and bathrooms.
Having trouble locating a local seller for the black and decker, specifically for the separate unit with hand held option to steam stove / oven etc aside from floor mop function. Any idea where to source for the later model?
Does it remove pet hair, spider webs & dust from mesh windows?? We usually use vacuum cleaner for these purposes. Can we replace Vacuum cleaner with this steam mop for cleaning the areas i mentioned above? I am confused whether to buy a vacuum cleaner or this steam mop. I can’t afford both, so need to choose either this or a vacuum cleaner. Kindly share your suggestions.
Hi Alex, just saw this video you posted thought few months ago. Just wondering since your steam mop has been with you for some time, just wondering what is your go-to brand if one day the Black and Decker steam mop breaks down and beyond repair?
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing the video. Some noob qns. Does using a steam mop means you don't use any flooring cleaning detergents at all? How do you clean the mop pad? Quite keen on the black decker stream mop after viewing your video. Can it be used on vinyl flooring? Toilet tiles as well?
ya steam mop don't use cleaning solution. Clean the mop pad like how you clean any dirty table cloth, I just put some MAMA lemon. I used it on my vinyl floor, no problems with toilet tiles as well.
@@AlexTeo Hi there, can I ask where your vinyl floorings are from, because I get so advices to avoid using steam mop for vinyl flooring altogether, but i always find that I can seem to clean well with my current conventional mop. Thanks!

Thank you for the review. I ordered Tineco, arriving next week. I'm currently using roomba ( it's dying after 8 years, so replacing with 2 irobots from different brand and cheaper, arriving next week). Miele canister vacuum ( 11 years old and still going strong), Miele upright ( going to get rid of it, too heavy and have no carpets left in my house) and two handheld, cordless dysons, one of them is dead after 4 years, another one is working. I like to have vacuums on both floors or I will avoid to vacuum as long as possible :D
Hi Alex, may i ask if the black&decker steam mop leaves water mark on a marble floor?? Any idea?? Looking forward to purchase one,but i really cant tolerate watermarks Appreciate ur advice. Thank you
Steam mop is good for deep cleaning but it takes a bit more time and effort. BTW, Karcher is the beast in steam mop and they also have a 2-in1 vacuum + mop so that you only need to go one round instead of two in your house to clean. I have a Karcher SC4 and a normal spray mop and the after-cleaning effect of both is day and night. One advantage of using the steam mop is that you do not need any chemical in your cleaning as the steam is able to eradicate all grime and grease, so a steam mop is very ideal for households with very young kids. I'm curious on how you use the steam to clean your mirrors and glass. Besides the mirrors and glass, do you clean anything else using the steam? I find it too time-consuming to steam my shower screen for example, so I only use it for the floow. For the mirrors and glass, you only use the steam and the squeegee to clean? That is enough to do a squeaky-clean job? Thanks.
yeah I only do steam mopping once a week. Somebody else commented about Karcher steam mop as well, would love to try it if there is a chance. I clean the stove and microwave with steam as well. The mirrors look clean for my standard haha
I’m about to purchase steam mop, but kinda confused, which is better between xiaomi deerma steam mop or black and decker? mainly for cleaning oily floor..
I had steam mop, rainbow vacuum cleaner and cordless vacuum cleaner right now but considering to buy the tineco floor 2.0 slim, what do you think? Is it necessary?
Looking at going for a serious upgrade and get the Tineco s3 and Dyson. I didn’t know about the Dreame option, my only question is regarding the suction power...does it do a really good job with deep cleaning large carpet areas?
I read that steam mopping will cause damage to the vinyl flooring. What is your take on this? From your video, seems like only your kitchen and bathrooms are tiles?
Tineco or vacuum robot + b&d? Currently contemplating of buying either tineco or roidme eve plus. Don't have a vacuum robot yet. Mind to share your opinion?
I absolutely agree with your endorsement of the steam mop. I am using the exact same Black & Decker model as yours and also bought one for my parents after a friend’s parent had a bad fall while mopping with a conventional mop+pail setup ☹️ The steam mop is not only safer (because steam evaporates very quickly - so the floor won’t be left slippery), it also also clears stains and sticky-feeling floor almost effortlessly. This particularmodel is no longer being sold - I heard that the newer equivalent model can no longer be left to “stand” without support. Also, thank you for comparing against the Deerma. Aside from having a much shorter power cord, it also has a smaller container for water - which means you not only need to unplug it often but top up the water often too! That would be a deal breaker for me 😅😅
absolutely spot on, keep changing socket and refill water is no joke haha. I think this is the latest? www.blackanddecker.com/products/home-cleaning/powered-cleaning/steam-cleaners/10in1-steammop-with-fresh-scent/bdh1855sm The other models on the website look like they can stand as well..
I couldn’t decide Electric vacuum & mob between. “Teniceo one s3” and “Dreame H11 X” the price abit different. But Dreame are vers. 2022 If you can choose Which one of this two you prefer to get in now day?
Very informative and you always teach me something new. Plus you introduced alot of cool products I dont know about and other reviewers don't talk about. First time viewer who is now a subscriber!
Hello, thanks for this very honest review. I was about to buy the Xiaomi steam cleaner. I've been looking for reviews for it and so far the two that I watched were weird. The machine showed some issues (ex. have to wipe a number of times before a small stain is removed) but the reviewer still recommended it. Felt like they were doing it for the money than actually giving an honest review... So thank you for confirming my concerns and recommending the other products. Now I shall do some more research about the B&D steam cleaner... 🤣
Hi Alex, thank you for all these helpful and insightful videos. It really helps! Can I check if steam mop is good for use on vinyl flooring? I see that most sites doesn't recommend using steam mop against vinyl floors.
are you still using vacuum robot just for vacuuming? instead of using both vacuum & mopping function? the self cleaning function not good enough to clean the mopping pad?
Wonderful video and very informative. Looks like the black & decker steam mob is a good choice. Where can I see a demo set? Thanks for uploading the video.
Thank you for reviewing between derma n black n decker steam mop. Im in dilemma to choose 2 of them. So I'll choose black n decker based on your review. Thank youuuu 😘😘

Hi Alex, I already have Dyson V12 Vacuum. I need a easy and light weight mop to clean floor, window, curtain & carpet. Is black & decker suit my needs?
hizero so many moving parts to wash, including 2 residue and main trays , 2 brushes (one roller and one brush roller) . i prefer tineco, just self clean and only take out the dirty water tray. most impt no soaking of the rubber sponge of hizero. sponge after sometime, might fracture and shrink which add cost. Tineco fibre roller should last long time.
yeah but not all the parts need to be clean every time so not too bad afterall, always using clean water instead of the tineco is one of the plus point of hizero
Is Tineco heavy like dyson. Can it be used both ways dry n wet mop. What abt black n decker steam mop...do they hv 2 functions for just mop cleaning n steam mop. Will black decker n tineco good for hard ceramic floor tiles. Wanted to buy mop tat serves 2 functions....dry n wet cleaning. Tks for sharing....
yes the tineco is heavy. For steam mop, its only steam mopping no normal mopping. i don't know what's a mop that can serve both dry and wet mopping in this context, any example?
which cleaning equipment do you like most? 😁

May i know the model of ur black and decker steam mop?
Hi Alex! Tk u for yr detailed video! Can i ask if the steam.mop can vacuum or purely mop? Tks!
I’m about to purchase steam mop, but kinda confused, which is better between xiaomi deerma steam mop or black and decker? mainly for cleaning oily floor..
Later your friend sad eh~ His mop is new and you're making him regret buying it 😂
Ya haha.. He emo now 🤣
Thank you! Almost buy the Deerma one, but thankfully I found your video first. I’m going to buy the Black+Decker now
the one i am using is not for sale anymore, but you might be able to find 2nd hand
How much is the power in your back+decker steam mop?
wont the tineco drag dirt from sludge and slime from one area to another?
I had steam mop, rainbow vacuum cleaner and cordless vacuum cleaner right now but considering to buy the tineco floor 2.0 slim, what do you think? Is it necessary?
Which model of black and decker steam mop are you using?
10in1 which is not for sale anymore :(
Looking at going for a serious upgrade and get the Tineco s3 and Dyson. I didn’t know about the Dreame option, my only question is regarding the suction power...does it do a really good job with deep cleaning large carpet areas?
hmm no idea whether it does a 'good' job, just vacuum at the highest suction power and assume it does haha
I read that steam mopping will cause damage to the vinyl flooring. What is your take on this?
From your video, seems like only your kitchen and bathrooms are tiles?
Bathroom is marble. I gave my take in the part 2 video for cleaning appliance
Tineco or vacuum robot + b&d?
Currently contemplating of buying either tineco or roidme eve plus. Don't have a vacuum robot yet. Mind to share your opinion?
i always recommend robot vacuum whenever possible, recommend ecovacs deebot
I think this is the latest? www.blackanddecker.com/products/home-cleaning/powered-cleaning/steam-cleaners/10in1-steammop-with-fresh-scent/bdh1855sm
The other models on the website look like they can stand as well..
The link is dead. What the model you used in the video? Tnx for the video. Very helpful
Which mop is good then? Black. Decker?
I couldn’t decide Electric vacuum & mob between. “Teniceo one s3” and “Dreame H11 X” the price abit different. But Dreame are vers. 2022
If you can choose Which one of this two you prefer to get in now day?
both are actually very identical, personally the tineco s3
@@AlexTeo I'll go with Tineco S3 Then, Thanks man
I love my Bissell CrossWave... It has two tanks, so you never clean with dirty water.
yeah same concept as tineco/hizero
Hi, do you use the steam mop on vinyl flooring? Was worried that it might damage the vinyl.
i use medium to low setting and of course observe the right way to use a steam mop
May I know the model which you are using for black and decker? 5in1 or 6in1?
10in1, but not for sale anymore. I will cover their new models in my next video
Very informative and you always teach me something new. Plus you introduced alot of cool products I dont know about and other reviewers don't talk about. First time viewer who is now a subscriber!
wow thanks for the comment and sub!
I m using the Xiaomi Deerma steam mop & I agree with u on it's quality but hey, for onli $80 I must say it is alot of mop for that price 👍.
Been using black n decker steam mop since forever really value for money purchase. 💰
Your steam mop looks the best. I want one now!
Your cat will love it! 😻
haha nice, thanks for the comment!
Which is the latest black and decker steam mop I should get ? Thanks !
didn't get to test out their 'latest' so can't recommend yet
Hi, will B&D steam mop leave sticky feeling on the floor?
Nope for me, thats another gd point about it
whats the model?
Hi Alex, the steam mop looks amazing. Would you recommend it for carpet and parquet wood( natural wood ) flooring? Thanks

Wow really good..i want the last 2 tineco & steam mop but confuse as wanted to buy a philips or either a tefal vacuum mop.. pls help which is better?
Hi Alex, can you list down the model of the steam mop. The current one in the video and the upgrade version that u recommend. thanks!
can i use an alternative floor cleaner for the s3?
ya but make sure they are all suitable for us in such wet dry vacuum
@@AlexTeo I read that u must avoid cleaner that produces bubbles. Which cleaner brand r u using?
@@wenhailoke5510 currently using the cleaner from hizero, switching to ecovacs for this 9.9
Which floor detergent r u using for tineco?

Hi Alex, thank you for all these helpful and insightful videos. It really helps! Can I check if steam mop is good for use on vinyl flooring? I see that most sites doesn't recommend using steam mop against vinyl floors.
i think its fine
I need to clean the wall and ceiling. Which one better. I want light weight
hmm I never actually heard of cleaning walls and ceiling before, can't advise
Hi Alex , can check with you is tineco good for vaccum ? or is it only good for mop ?
are you still using vacuum robot just for vacuuming? instead of using both vacuum & mopping function? the self cleaning function not good enough to clean the mopping pad?
this video is very long ago already, I have been using mopping ever since i start testing the ecovacs x1
I am thinking of getting a steam mop but I also read that it is not suitable for vinyl plank flooring. Any views?
i will say use them correctly
I'm using the same vacuum, love it.
Hi Alex what is the model of the Black and Decker steam cleaner / mop please?
the one in this video is not for sale anymore, check my last cleaning tech video instead
Which is the latest model that is good to use for steam mopping (black & decker)?
can't recommend any yet since I haven't get to try it myself, waiting for them to send me haha

Your sofa very nice..can u share what model and where you buy
yes it is very nice, you refer to my taobao review or 'hdb bedroom to gaming room' videos where I talked about the sofa and check out the video description of those videos
Hi Alex, great videos. Are your tiles vinyl? Read online that steam mops cannot be used for vinyl floorings, wonder if u face any issues?
What’s the weight for B&D steam mop not heavy?
Very helpful reviews thanks 🙏🏼
thanks! not heavy imo
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi, have u tried vacuuming with the mattresses?
yes for the dreame v11
Hi Alex, I already have Dyson V12 Vacuum. I need a easy and light weight mop to clean floor, window, curtain & carpet. Is black & decker suit my needs?
My ceiling is 3.1m. So I have high curtain and glass window.
If you managed to get hold of this exact black n decker steam mop i used for this video then yes as it comes with a carpet attachment too
@@AlexTeo Thank you
Hi Alex. Thanks for the video. Is the Tineco available at local stores in Spore?
hizero so many moving parts to wash, including 2 residue and main trays , 2 brushes (one roller and one brush roller) . i prefer tineco, just self clean and only take out the dirty water tray. most impt no soaking of the rubber sponge of hizero. sponge after sometime, might fracture and shrink which add cost. Tineco fibre roller should last long time.
yeah but not all the parts need to be clean every time so not too bad afterall, always using clean water instead of the tineco is one of the plus point of hizero
Hi. Which Black & Decker model would you upgrade to for yourself?
don't think there is any I fancy at the moment, might check out other brands
Hi, can I mix abit of dettol solution for the steam mopping?
nope, spray dettol onto the cloth directly
Is Tineco heavy like dyson. Can it be used both ways dry n wet mop. What abt black n decker steam mop...do they hv 2 functions for just mop cleaning n steam mop. Will black decker n tineco good for hard ceramic floor tiles. Wanted to buy mop tat serves 2 functions....dry n wet cleaning. Tks for sharing....
yes the tineco is heavy. For steam mop, its only steam mopping no normal mopping.
i don't know what's a mop that can serve both dry and wet mopping in this context, any example?
@@AlexTeo Hustorm HS9000 frm korea...wireless dual cyclone ...wet n dry vacuum cleaner.
@@AlexTeo Thanks your sharing. Your sharing is useful. Quick question: Is Tineco high temperature steam mopping?
Hi, Alex. Have you used your B&D in your sofa? How was it? Did you use special cleaning agents? Ty
sofa no, carpet yes. Never use any cleaning agent
@@AlexTeo appreciate your response. Thanks!
The Black and decker steam mop - which model is it? You mentioned a price point of $120? Pls share the model number pls.
i got a 2nd hard (like new) from carousell, its the 10in1 which you can't get direct from black and decker anymore
