When eating cranberries or drinking the juice be sure to rinse off your teeth immediately. Cranberry juice is very acidic and will soften your teeth quickly.
simon2317
Cool.
Thanks!
I didn't know that.
That's a tip that I need to follow.
yeah but not brushing teeth , only rinsing cause otherwise you brush your teeth with the acid and its not great
Wow thanks for the tip
Ayyyyeeee ur right it always hurt my teeth thanks friend!!
Not true! Good for healthy gum tissue
I'm always responsible for the cranberry sauce at thanksgiving- I used to make my grandma's recipe which was just sugar & fresh cranberries baked until they all pop and the sugar dissolves then stir all together, which works quite well, but I quit refined sugar 3 years ago so now I usually use honey, orange juice, pomegranate juice, and some orange zest and do it on the stovetop in a pot instead- my family actually likes it more than the original recipe! I made it both ways the first year and everyone gobbled up my naturally sweetened one & the sugar sweetened one barely got touched! Sorry grandma.
I also love to snack on plain fresh raw cranberries- they are very tart and have a weird crunchy texture but I really love them! I've always liked sour foods. My husband thinks I'm crazy, especially after trying one himself and promptly spitting it back out!
+Courtney McFarland Thats sounds great! Easy to understand why people liked it better.
No problem! If you do use actual sugar to sweeten (and not honey etc) please use organic.
while your recipe sounds good, Honey, Pomegranate Jc, and OJ are loaded with natural sugar!! it will still spike your blood sugar. Seems not a very good alternative health-wise.
I so love cranberries. I have already gone trough 10 bags these past few weeks, and often eat them raw as snacks without any sweetener. I'm really looking forward to your video for Thursday video. Thanks, Dani.
I love them raw too! I gotta go pick some up now that they're at all the stores :)
+Thaneii Wow! you really do love cranberries:)
How can you? I tried every way of eating them raw, i even cut them rinse them then eat them and they’re still too much for me.
I
Hate Green tea so I make it at night put it in the Frig and put cranberries and apple and green tea in my Blendec and with a inch of fresh ginger.
It make a delicious refreshing drink. And I get my green tea
I do everything with cranberries! I use them for decorations for Christmas, use it for juice, cranberry sauce, and fresh cranberry Jell-O salad is my favorite, it's my own special recipe, just to name a few things.
Now that I think about it, I could probably incorporate some DIY skin care products into my cranberry usage.
Just recently I have been adding raw cranberries to my steel cut oat breakfast. Add some honey and cinnamon and, wowsers, what a great morning breakfast. Serve with coffee. Thanks for the informative video!
zest an orange, hold zest back until end. Juice orange. 1 bag cranberries, 3/4 cup water, 3/4 cup brown sugar, juice of 1 orange. Bring to simmer and cook on low until a nice sauce. About 15 min. Then add zest and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Stir. Keep in fridge. Good on sandwiches.
thank you for sharing. I bought 4 bags of cranberries and to make cranberry jelly. now I think I'm going to make craisins. yum.
+annette rumley Home made craisins? That sounds great! I'll have to give that a try...
Informative. Thank you!
I would love to try them in my smoothies. That sounds great! Thanks Dani :)
+Glenda Mateo Anytime! They are great in a smoothie.
Hey Dani, I made fresh cranberry sauce for the first time for Thanksgiving. The traditional recipe: cranberries, orange juice and sugar. This sauce is sooooo delicious, and it was so easy to make. I am wondering why I ever used the canned stuff! Doubt if I am ever going back to it.
Omg, your information delivery is AMAZING lol now you have blooper clips 😆 I was typing towards the end of the video, didn't expect deleted scenes #BRAVO
Great video about cranberries Dani. Never really had the pleasure eating much of them, but this year I'll make some dishes with them for Christmas. Xx
+FitAnge S They are so perfect for xmas!
Great video, thank you! I take a bag of frozen cranberries, put them in a pot (no water, nothing but the berries) and cook them down so they're soft & mushy. I then add some vanilla liquid stevia and mix... YUMMY as is but I usually mix a big spoonful of that with red wine or apple cider vinegar & plain yogurt to make a bangin' salad dressing!! :)
So glad that you posted this video, Dani! I was at Costco around Halloween time and they had a giant bag of fresh, beautiful cranberries for an awesome price and they just called my name! I have never used cranberries before and have been put off cranberry sauce as a kid and I have no idea what to do with them. The bag that they came in said I could store them in the freezer so I did that straight away and have been contemplating ever since about what to do with the those little beauties. Can't wait to see your new cranberry videos! Going to check out your cranberry pumpkin muffin recipe now 😊💜
+Alexis Hinde I just went to Costco today:) The muffins are so good! Hope you get to give them a try.... enjoy!!
I can't wait for a cranberry smoothie recipe! Hope you're feeling better Dani
+Danielle Jack Thanks so much! Smoothie is coming on Thursday.
Thank you for the information, in my country we only get the dried cranberry, keep the good work Dani
+Ehsan A. I recently saw a recipe for cranberry sauce made out of dried cranberries; a RUclipsr based in the UK. I had never thought of the idea before because we have access to fresh and frozen here.
Dani love your ideas on cranberry if I add them to oatmeal should they be cooked before using.
How fascinating Dani! And just in time for me to make some cranberry bread for Thanksgiving :)
+The Diet Chef Yum! Cranberry bread:)
Sound good. I'll have to tell my wife who loves to bake.
Joe Duff - The Diet Chef
Nice!
Please, do share the recipe.
How do you make cranberry juice in a vita mix and what would you use to sweeten it type two diabetic
Thank you for sharing. I make your cranberry sauce ever year. Yummy. Your the best. You Rock.
super informative and concise, thanks so much! :)
Nice fact about them being grown in sandy soil instead of water. Thanks!
Thank You!!
My mom makes an amazing daal with cranberries! It's so good, it's a little tart, spicy, and so warm.
+thesocialnerd Wow! That sounds amazing.... I would LOVE to try that.
I love these 101 videos. 😊
There's a jello recipe my grandma used to make with cranberries, apples, and walnuts. I'd love to know a healthy version of this if you have suggestions. (I don't eat gelatin). 😉
+Autumn L. Cranberries and oranges have a lot of natural pectin, so they "gel up" easily when they are cooked together. I don't think you'd have to use gelatin to make a jello-type desert. Try doing a search on RUclips or Google.
istead of gelatin, try agar agar, its vegan too
For a Popped Cranberry recipe: Toss 10 oz. of frozen or fresh cranberries into a medium bowl. Toss with 2 Tbs. of sugar or a sugar substitute. Spread berries onto a single layer parchment-covered baking sheet and bake about 12 hours at 200 degrees F. in your oven. Let them cool and then eat them out of hand, sprinkled in cereal or folded into chicken salad. 1/4 cup contains about 10 gms. sugar compared with about 29 gms. in a popular brand if sweetened, dried cranberries. You can also make a brine of sugar water and cinnamon to pre-soak the cranberries into to make them sticky enough to let the sugar or sugar substitute adhere well to each cranberry, if you wish. Neat quick cranberry treats to make and this recipe is one i got from Arthritis Today magazine. Me, I keep a bottle of sugar that is mixed with cinnamon just for handy dusting on treats like this and candy apples or such. Thanks for sharing the info on growing and harvesting cranbetties. Nice video.
I want to try cooked/grilled pumpkin pieces with cinnamon and cranberry sauce on top!
At the end of December Cranberrys go down to 30 cence a bag. Aldies also sells them for that. I buy all i can find and put in freezer to juice all year long. also warm juice tastescreal good. I also make Cranberry sauce, the jellied type.
the go excellent in as stuffed brie with walnuts
Is good for uric acid?
Is there anything you can do with the bruised cranberries??
pls keep making these vids
If i can get a recipe that grts rid of too muvh tartness & less gobbs of sugar, i would really like to start eating cranberries. I never cooked them. I didn't like the xmas or hollday ones that much.
I'll try your suggestions. Thank you
For your video.
My mother in law would like to know if you can get the seeds out ?
Are fresh cranberries ok to eat washed, right out of the bag? What would a good portion per day be to consume this way?
SUPER COOL
whenever i know I've over did it with coffee and feel kidney acting up or uti I'll drink pure cranberry juice blended with organic apple juice( because I can't palate pure cranberry alone lol) it clears everything up. Better than medicine!💖
I made a fresh breakfast juice with (Chopped Up) Fresh Cranberries, Brown Pears, Fresh Ginger, and 1 Teaspoon of Honey. I drank this cleansing juice today, before eating food for the morning. I boiled the ingredients and let it sit for 15 mins. before drinking.
I make sweet n tangy chatani. In a mixer bowl, add cranberries 3garlic cloves, little ginger, 2 chilies, 1spoon sugar, salt, 4spoon water grind them together. it tastes delicious as spread on burgers, sandwiches, etc
Great video
great video Dani! thanks for the info can't wait to see your recipes ;))
+homemade recipes Thanks - the next video will be on Thursday at 11amEST
This is a cranberry relish I've created a few years ago that is now practically a daily part of our diet. You chop (electrically) one package or 10 oz. of whole cranberries (fresh or frozen), add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 80-90 grams raw honey and 1/2 cup walnuts, mix it up and you have a nutritionally powerful side dish that compliments almost any entreé. And it's pretty too. :)
Love it
Its my first time to buy the fruit type and I add it with my oatmeal. Its a bit bitter and sour
That sounds good
Does anyone know if you can eat the seeds?
Anyone have tips for adding to soups?
Looks delicious but I'm worried about the sugar can I use honey instead
I've made some oat bars with nuts, dark choc and dried cramberries last weekend
+Brunalemanha That sounds delicious!
I would like to make a cranberry/blueberry sauce for Thanksgiving but not sure how to sweeten them without adding 'Too' much sugar. I wonder how it would work with honey.
I've made it with half the sugar the recipe calls for & used organic dehydrated cane juice rather than refined white sugar and it worked fine- and I've also made it with honey instead of sugar, used some pomegranate juice & orange juice, and even maple syrup will work to sweeten. All work pretty well, just be sure to taste it and add more sweetener as necessary. I feel most traditional cranberry sauces are too sweet anyhow but you don't want to serve up anything too tart to guests :)
I've never tried it with blueberries before though- have you? How is it?
With blueberries is delicious, not as tart. Cane juice sounds like a good one.
+Femmi Girlz Honey definitely works! That is how I make mine every year... its great!
Thanks :)
I'm going do use raw cranberries in chicken salad. I usually use dried ones but they put do much sugar on them. I prefer to dry them myself or eat them raw. Thanks for the ideas.
The way you speak reminds me of Bones 🤓😉
They are sour which is good always thought they were really sweet due to the juices at the stores
I love cranberries I eat raw ones straight out the bag!
How do you deal with the bitterness
I make cranberry tea, then toss the remaining pulp into my oatmeal. It's a win win!
Boil 30 minutes in water. Remove berries and save. Add Monkfruit for sweetener and you have a delicious drink.
I like to add them in my water and smoothies.
+Reba Bend yum!
We live international so brought some back with me from the states, a neighbor offered me $50 for them as we can not get them here! No was my answer!! With love from Azerbaijan!
Wow! That's amazing!!

Don't forget urinary tract health benefits!
+Courtney McFarland Yes!
Good reminder. Are you a nutritionist?
Can you make tea with them.
Cranberry juice is good when you pour a *little bit into water*
Me: Get on my level i drink pure cranberry juice with nothing but srsly am ib supposed to out water into it am i drinking it wrong?
I just like to eat them for a snack
Raw cranberries dunked in honey 😋
Hey I live in India and I could not find any actual cranberries. Could you please tell where can I get the real cranberries online?
Froods have dried unsweetened cranberries available on amazon
It's crazy. I noticed so much people right now are using cranberry alot more often. Like it's a trend or something. ^^
+Keelo977 They are super in season right now - that may be why.
I thought the concentrate of any fruit was bad?
cranberry the most berry there is
I found out a couple years ago I like homemade cranberry sauce. Always disliked canned.
They have them dried in various flavors at Trader Joes but they've been so over-sweetened - I don't like them.
+Keith Johnson I agree - don't like them over sweetened at all!
Beware with dried cranberries. They're sweet and stick to your teeth, thus promoting cavities. Trust me, I had to pay hefty dentist bills because of that. Eat dried cranberries with cheese as it provides a protection for your teeth.
Cranberry juice & vodka...nothing more clean or delicious.
Whoever wants the original cranberry, write in the comment.
Not cranberries but cowberries.
Useless
