    Hi guys. Thank you for the kind words, we developed the brackets as we struggled ourselves with a sensible solution for getting the beam into the correct position. We hope they will get a few more 4wd mk1 golfs started. Keep up the good work. 😊

    Thanks you I'm in the process of converting MK1 1.1 to 2.0 16v abf and thought of synchro conversion and did you use the synchro gearbox would it handle the power of the abf engine if not what box would you advise good to see you fabricate you own parts built not bought awesome 👍👍

      I have used the 4motion system on mine. I am not so familiar with the Syncro system so I don’t know how much power it can handle. But if you’re going for the Syncro system you can always do a pretty easy 4motion conversion if you need something to handle more power. Going from Syncro to 4Motion is not difficult:)

    Very interesting! Time to find an mk4 r32 rear subframe

    • @Gateslicks
      @Gateslicks  9 месяцев назад

      This product only fits with the Mk2/Mk3 Golf Syncro rear frame, in case that was not clear:)
      Mk4 rear subframe can also be used and are used more and more, but will need other modifications to the chassis to make it fit:)

    Hi, what happen if I remove visco-joint from front wheels to rear? What happen if I made fixed joint from front to rear axis?!?

    I want to convert my MK1 to AWD
    What’s the best path should I follow?
    What transmission do I need?
    Do I have to make a full engine/transmission conversion?
    What’s the best set up do you recommend?

    being in the US, the only syncro we got was a passat and those are super rare. now if i wanted to do the swap what route would you say would be best? mk1 tt? r32 subframes and diffs are harder to source here as well so options are fairly limited.

    • @Gateslicks
      @Gateslicks  Год назад

      TT mk1 and Mk4 R32 have the same subframe, so if you go for this type of subframe just get whatever is cheaper for you. Mk5 is a bit another, but probably not much harder to use(I think by looking at photos of it). It's become more and more common to use the Mk4/TT subframe since it's more available for many outside of Europe.
      It's a bit another process, from what I have seen pictures of. I'm planing to try to make a video about some thoughts on how I would have started if I was going to use the Mk4/TT subframe, in hopes that it maybe can help someone.

    How much do you need to narrow the beams to make it all fit under a stock body do you think ?.

    • @Gateslicks
      @Gateslicks  11 месяцев назад

      The Syncro rear beam fits under the Mk1 chassis. I have not narrowed it down on my car, and it fits
