Recently got a caddy myself, literally just the shell and this was one of the ideas I had swirling around for it.. Can’t wait to see more on yours. Just binged your videos. 😬
Just thought I’d leave a comment letting you know that your vids are awesome. I don’t know what happened, but I suddenly became interested in vr6 engines and happened to come across your vr6 swap project bmw video. Instantly subbed. I’m currently going back to binge watch a bunch of these and see what I’ve missed.
Hey man great work just want to ask what gearbox and diff are you using because I'm planing on doing the haldex swap to a mk2 jetta using the syncro tunnel and rear subframe of the golf mk2 syncro but I'm not sure what gearbox and diff combo to get a 50/50 split.
I'm using an 02m gearbox with the matching diff. If your engine is a 1.8t then you will need to use the box and diff out if a TT or S3. If you engine is a 2.8 be then you'll need the box and diff out if a golf V6 4motion
Hi Abi ... wow .. great work ... we are in process with a caddy 14d r34 (its a r32 with 3,4l) supercharged in the caddy ... front is done and now we are thinking about a 4wd convertion ... you are naming a guy stefan pless / pluss bluss ... who did the works? maybe you could tell me who exactly did it? I cannot find anything on google. Thanks bro.
Hy! I have a vw golf 2 coupe CL. and i want to make it syncro(4x4).i have a 2.0. 16v abf. Engine... What i must use to make it easy my work.. From what car. Thanks! 😉. You are The best. 👍👍👍
Hey I know this is a older video I just want to know what you did for your fuel cell, also did you have to trim the holes for where the steering rack goes to the hub? I’m building one as I’m writing this got a full Tt rear end in with a Passat awd tunnel got everything up just trying to figure out fuel cell and all that jaz. Thanks
Hi there, no fuel cell, just the original fuel tank was used. It was moved to the back to make way for the 4wd. The holes where the steering rack go through were not trimmed. Hope that helps 👍
hello just came across your video. Since i want to do something like that, I have a few questions. did you have to modify the tunnel in the cab or you just lowered the exhaust? I thought Mk 3 and 4 were the same? why do you switch out the synchro rear diff for the Haldex, is it better? what is the van Der Ver haldex controller and on which website is it all explained? thank you very much for your time. You also state, that the drive shaft came with the truck? do you mean donor car, since the caddy didn't have one?
When the steering rack is dropped, what do you do about the steering column? Do you have to extend it? Asking because I am planning awd in a mk1 tintop.
Hey abimoto I’m in the middle ov my mk6 awd conversion, I have no wiring for my haldex am I right in thinking the van Der Ver haldex controller will plug an play with its own loom so I won’t need original wiring an modules etc???
Hi there. Yep that's right. You won't need any of the original haldex loom but you will need to feed the haldex controller with some aditional signals. These are all detailed in instructions and on the website 👍.
Non haldex golf (fwd) has a different boot floor to the 4wd golf so you can not bolt in the haldex floor. You will have to replace the existing floor for one out of a golf 4motion or potential build something into your existing floor
@@ABIMOTO isit the lupo/polo dash? As I really want to get this dash in mine but ive found no info on how its been done and didn't want to end up doing it ans having to cut half of it away, also the build is amazing mate im definitely going to be going down this route myself one day

Hi matey,
Just got a haldex controller which should be the last piece of the puzzle.
Hope the vids were of some use 👍

How do you get your haldex to work, aftermarket ecu, and is it simple and straightforward?

Sorry the the late reply. I must have missed this one. Easiest donar car to use will be a MK2 golf syncro or a MK3 but they are harder to find.
Wow, where did the term simple fit in with that conversion 😳
Yeah I might have over simplified it a little but up close there's not that much to it.

Yes the tunnel was modified to fit the propshaft
Hurry up and get it finished. Al
😁 As it happens it's now ready for an MOT 👍

Hi there you have to uses an extended UJ to make up the distance between the column and the rack.
@@ABIMOTO Is this UJ? something you can find on other vw cars or is it custom made?
I think I shortened one from a MK2 or MK3 golf to fit the mk1
Hi can you tell me the dimensions of the tunnel taking the prop and exhaust through please.
Thank you
Next time its on the lift I'll measure it got you
Any idea what I could do for a 1.6 diesel awd? Planning on compound turbo diesel awd... I know little, and it will be in the future.
You can use 4 motion running gear with a diesel

vw golf 4 non haldex (FWD) will go for RWD with haldex? the 4 bolts of haldex rear frame exists into chassis?

@@ABIMOTO thanks alot ,them 2doors 4x4 come ultra hard at sale..and huge prices
How did u make the drive shaft longer to fit the truck?
The propshaft came with the truck
Any new content?
Yep it's coming 👍. Just need to finish editing the video
Did you fit the dash to the caddy?
Yep, wasn't to difficult. I've fitted a corrado dash to a MK1 before and that was a pain.

Yep it's a lupo / polo dash. There is some cutting involved but not a lot. When I get back on to the caddy I'll do a video of how I fitted it 👍
@@ABIMOTO thay would be perfect thanks buddy
How much would a build like this set you back ?
Depends if your doing the work yourself or getting someone to do it for you
@@ABIMOTO I wouldn’t have the skills to do a build like this lol so would need someone to do it for me
I'd image something in the region of £10k depending on spec and parts used.
@@ABIMOTO ok ! Thank you for the reply ! Keep up the good work dude
greetings form germany did you use istagram by any chance? XD
Hi there, yes my Instagram is Abimoto1 👍
Should be a bit of a weapon 👍
Let's hope so 😀
