Oh i wonder if a flipped small rear Tesla motor would fit in the back - seen a Tesla in the front of that model Golf... or maybe the i-pace motor as they are like a barrel with shafts at each end no diff hanging of the side like the Tesla design...
I will appreciate with all my heart if anyone could assist me with my hard last years... Thank you friends ❤️❤️ gogetfunding.com/epilepsystoppedmylife/
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
This rwd conversion is an ultimate question I've been having for sooooo many years. Finally someone got to actually do it. This video really made my day 😂.
I did LOADS of research on this about a year ago - I *was* gonna say it should all work but the haldex clutch isn't all that strong so there's a chance it'll burn up pretty quick but then I saw you welded it anyway in later videos, absolutely love it 😂
Something like this was done in 1995 in a Volkswagen CORRADO .... so nothing "crazy" Bro! Just because it's NOW on the Internet doesn't mean it is something new or crazy.
I'm doing a B9 A4 quattro spec conversion on my B8.5 A4 FWD CVT in Jan 2021. Basically I'm putting the DSG, quattro drivetrain & EA888 Gen 3 2.0t 252hp 2018 A4 parts in my 2013 A4 might even do a manual swap since I have a full donor B9 A4 car! I can't wait to see your process as it may indeed help me out with mine! More of the work & progress of my build is in my channel.
Hey guys.. I'm from Germany.. now living in Ireland.. anyway Google aka RUclips AI suggested me this video and I like your content so I left a like and subscribed. I am advanced, so if youtube vids dumb things down too much I get bored quickly as it wastes my time, which I have to say is not the case with your content. So good work guys, you are fun! BTW I'd like to mention the elefant in the room: Me being German I am aware that the world is still nuts about German cars, why, I do not know. Especially in recent years they are not known to be the most reliable and also not well engineered. My father was big in the tire business and had huge contracts with Audi, but regularly went to business meetings in a Honda Accord. The smurfs at Audi did not like. That said, since Mighty Car Mods I do understand them GTI's are very popular in the English speaking world. Nuff said for now
I’VE ONLY JUST FOUND YOU GUYS!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 bravo 🎉 you love to see it! Excellent content and men after my own heart. RUclips just got interesting again! Love it chaps
Yep building a four-wheel-drive a 1992 Corrado G60. One year in and not done but sit on its wheel!!!! Spec Bmw rear beam Z3 widebody, Audi tt 6-speed box, Tiguan Haldex 4 gen diff and custom prop, Custom front driveshafts Last bit is the Haldex Controller Heaps of work Will be good to see your build good on ya
Converted my fwd A3 to awd. Was a pain doing it on jackstands. I’m sure you guys are more knowledgeable than me but for anyone else doing the swap, if you have a spare r32 parts car, also swap the abs pump and esp sensor. The 02q can be converted to awd. Easiest way is to get an awd lsd and bolt it to the oem ring gear. You’ll need the proper seal 02q409189 and obviously the bevel box to connect the drive shaft to.
Did you have modify the brake lines in anyway? What coding did you have to do? Do you have Instagram? I’m looking to do the same to my GTI so I have some questions.
I've got one but the edition 30 it's nice to watch the project. I really curious to watch all the episodes. The ambient is funny and relaxed. Nice work
Haldex isn't designed to be engaged full time. Few MK4 R32 guys found out the hard way burning up the clutch in it. As that was a Gen1 system in the MK4, let's hope the Gen2 system can handle it, or you have a few Haldex parts laying around and are going to get very proficient at changing stuff out.
The thing I'm wondering about is how well that clutch pack in the Haldex is going to hold up to 2-4+ times the amount of torque it normally would need to. I wonder if it'd be possible to make a solid coupler shaft that takes the place of the clutch and connects the propshaft directly to the pinion gear driving the differential. Or adapt a rear diff from a Subaru or other car.
I'd thought about doing this quite a bit when I had my GTI and my ultimate decision was to not do it because of the costs involved with needing to purchase multiple vehicles, messing with haldex, possibly needing a syvecs standalone etc. The difficulty of the engineering and fabrication aside, a mid engine RWD GTI would imo be a much cooler and possibly less of a headache on the electronics side but obviously quite a bit more fab work and plumbing.
This is my dream! Wish they would make them like this from factory! Love my bigger turbo jetta... just not the front wheel drive. Ground is wet. I do nothing but burnouts at every light and every turn! A lot easier to control a rear slip then holding onto the wheel for your life!
Evaporative emissions are fuel vapors, this system does ensure the gas tank isnt leaking hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. PS we know its not supposed to keep your car from blowing up. Its a joke.
I've done this project to my Mitsubishi evolution 1,4 1998 and transformed to Rally art Evo 4. You will have to cut somewhere in the back to place the differential. Good luck
Those used O2 Sensors actually have some value. You can take the Male electrical Terminals out of the Housing and turn into Good Electrical probes for diagnostic Purposes. Those Male terminals are the same corresponding size as most of the Female electrical Connectors on the rest of the Car, at least on my Mk3. The Remaining wire makes for High quality elctrical Hookup wire that can be used a numerous different Ways. I ve Wire up many a thing using salvaged wiring from old O2 Sensors.. The sensor probes and the plastic connector housings i havent found a use for
As someone who is about to make an appointment for a vasectomy, the pain in Paul's face when he says "my balls" is terrifying. This should be an amazing series, I always dreamed of doing this to my mk5.
I feel like this supports my idea that a AWD Manual conversion is possible with an 8P A3 FWD using a Quattro version donor and a (same year) TT Manual Transmission. Benefit being all using a similar to same chassis.
You can get billet blocks to insert instead of the clutch pack, acting as if the plates was fused together. The regular haldex clutches won't hold up I think ...
@Deutsche Auto Parts with that brake line on the R32 cradle. Does that just connect to the GTI brake line? Did you have to change the GTI ABS module to the R32 ABS module?
I have a b4 passat vr6 I just got a cd009 for. The next step is figuring out the rear diff setup that won't explode when I put the boost to it. This is gonna help me out

If this showed up your recommended videos we are now friends!
Hello friend
Hi
Yo
:) glad to meet you
hallo
whenever there are crazy dudes taking a fwd car and turning it into a rwd, it means I 'll go for the like button without thinking twice...
So 500 HP through a clutch-plate to get the HP to the rear? Come on, bring in a welder to weld those shafts together!
Take another diff
This rwd conversion is an ultimate question I've been having for sooooo many years. Finally someone got to actually do it. This video really made my day 😂.
I don't think that haldex cluch will hold up all that power, but it will be interasting to see.
THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED
Bob “the builder”: Can you build it!!!
ShopDap: Yes, we can!!!
Maybe we can 😜
2:28 Bees didn't live there. That's a wasp's nest.
Love to see how this turns out.
I did LOADS of research on this about a year ago - I *was* gonna say it should all work but the haldex clutch isn't all that strong so there's a chance it'll burn up pretty quick but then I saw you welded it anyway in later videos, absolutely love it 😂
This was fun to watch! Down and dirty... can't wait until the next video.
You guys never cease to amaze me with your work ethic and video quality
Never came across your channel before. Just clicked on this video and subscribed after just 17sec. Amazing!
the balance between knowing and not knowing what you're doing is great!!!
Dropping videos on the Daily? Heck YES!!!!!
Everyone knows that if you want to remove an old rusty part, you just put your head under it...THEN it magically comes loose!
The car scene needs more crazy builds like this. Trendsetters indeed.
Check out my buddies rwd v8 scion tc. Haha. Hes crazy. His channel is moddedgarage.
It actually doesnt seem that expensive to do either
Something like this was done in 1995 in a Volkswagen CORRADO .... so nothing "crazy" Bro! Just because it's NOW on the Internet doesn't mean it is something new or crazy.
Literally searched for information on haldex swaps last week hardly any info on RUclips till now!
New to your channel and looking forward to this RWD golf series! Greetings from down under
It's like watching a bad car crash and yet I cannot look away. Keep the content coming.

Idk what I did to find these guys but I thank the RUclips gods
First ten second “while that seems like a simple task” haha right simple is what I first thought lol that thing is going to be sick
I wonder how the trans is going to hold aswell as the rear diff clutch. But I guess yall will find out. :)
Great project idea, I’d say you’ll need to replace the trunk floor in the gti with r32 floor to make the rear diff fit.
Wow . You Block R32 Front and now you have a rwd...
0:23 "VW has only produced fwd and awd cars", Beetle is rwd
Bruh. This is Adam LZ energy type beat. It’s epic
I’VE ONLY JUST FOUND YOU GUYS!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 bravo 🎉 you love to see it! Excellent content and men after my own heart. RUclips just got interesting again! Love it chaps
This is awesome! I always wanted to try a conversation like this. Glad to see you’re taking it on
Omg I love projects!!!
Side note: the guy with the glasses looks like Ed Sheeran!

Success or not, this is gonna be a f*ckin awesome series

JP Performance, a german tuner and car personality, has also built an all wheel drive 1.8t with around 400hp. Super cool project!
Say I wanted a transversal inline fwd engine to be rwd, would that be possible?
I've got one but the edition 30 it's nice to watch the project. I really curious to watch all the episodes. The ambient is funny and relaxed. Nice work
Wow! Good luck guys
This video is making my weekend melt away! Thanks for the interesting content!
Heck yeah. This is going to be a great series.
I have done this on a first gen Leon 4x4 1.8t, the car will work and drive even on stock haldex controller without front shafts mounted.
I literally enjoyed watching this
My 1st car was a mk5 golf tdi manual
My 2nd was a mk6 golf tdi dsg
This was so nice to watch, keep it up

Where was youtube hiding this gems for so long???
This is a very cool project!! ShopDAP is awesome!
Side note: Please stock more routine maintenance products for 1.4T!
We are working on this now

Very interesting video for an armchair tech really enjoyed it. And I am NOT MAD AT YOU FOR CUTTING THE O2 SENSOR. :)
I was thinking of this yesterday amazing you are doing it
So chuffed I found this!
Brilliant!
This is my dream! Wish they would make them like this from factory! Love my bigger turbo jetta... just not the front wheel drive. Ground is wet. I do nothing but burnouts at every light and every turn! A lot easier to control a rear slip then holding onto the wheel for your life!
The leak detection pump is to check for evap leaks. Not fuel. It's part of the emissions system.
Evaporative emissions are fuel vapors, this system does ensure the gas tank isnt leaking hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. PS we know its not supposed to keep your car from blowing up. Its a joke.
littt, ill be here every day until its done!
keep it up! i think this build would be a big hit (whether or not, it turns out as planned) because i thought about such project before
Awesome!! Been dreaming of doing such a monstrosity for years ❤️
I've done this project to my Mitsubishi evolution 1,4 1998 and transformed to Rally art Evo 4.
You will have to cut somewhere in the back to place the differential. Good luck
If you are wanting the car to be a drift machine can you not just weld up the rear diff? That negates the Haldex issue..
This is so cool, cant wait to see if the awd system will handle burnouts and some drifts.
cut awayyyyy
Yes!! Excited to watch this project!
That steering wheel it's like a dream for me!
This is awesome! Next .... could you do a rear mount rwd new beetle? Should be a breeze:)
Great job guys I really enjoyed this keep it going I'll be back for more
AWD > RWD, so why not make the GTI AWD instead?
Exited about this project! You should definitely save the Radio. They're rare here in Europe. Best wishes
Luv it! Haven't seen anyone do this yet, great idea fellas
It was always my dream to convert a Corrado into a RWD beast
Drive it in reverse. Boom. Rwd golf
@Kuzuri Kam Sure it is. You've also managed to make the golf rear engined now that youre driving it backwards
@Kuzuri Kam Yes tho
I see Deutsche, RWD, Swap, GTI... lets give these guys a go.. and it was good 🤘💯 gonna watch the rest. Thanks
New subscriber and I’m already hooked on this build!👍👍
This is soo sick 😂 still love these mk5's
Appreciate the effort, y’all’s skills are AMAZING, however they do sell rear wheel drive VWs, they are called Porsche’s

awesome video cant wait for the next!
Holy shit yes, thank you. I need this for my MK5
Rule 1 of dealing with a damaged donor, rip and tear rip and tear just cut what you can to get the parts you need
As a VW Scirocco owner (basically MK5 GTI) subscribed to the channel. I might do it too :):):)
What a minute....🤭4:12😳EFFF NOO😭 btw you guys are awesome for doing this 👏🏽😎
There wasn't enough sawzall used in the removal of that gas filler neck
As someone who is about to make an appointment for a vasectomy, the pain in Paul's face when he says "my balls" is terrifying. This should be an amazing series, I always dreamed of doing this to my mk5.
You guys seem intimated by the concept of making things easier by pulling out the most useful body tool - the ANGLE GRINDER!
You might have issues using the stock gearbox, it will only ever transfer 50% power to the rear
Incorrect
Thanks guys. Making a dream reality👍
I'm excited for the results
Commenting for the algorithm and subscribing for the fun.
the monty python reference has now made me a forever follower
I was waiting for someone to bring out a torch to remove the gas tank... perfectly suitable RUclips entertainment.
This reminds me of the APR SuperBeetle project. It’ll be nice to see what it takes to get this done!
I feel like this supports my idea that a AWD Manual conversion is possible with an 8P A3 FWD using a Quattro version donor and a (same year) TT Manual Transmission. Benefit being all using a similar to same chassis.
It's one of the mods in Forza, of course you can!
:'D
Thank you for doing this, it's very cool
You can get billet blocks to insert instead of the clutch pack, acting as if the plates was fused together. The regular haldex clutches won't hold up I think ...
Lol these dudes wilding 🤣 the r-Kelly joke😂
@Deutsche Auto Parts with that brake line on the R32 cradle. Does that just connect to the GTI brake line? Did you have to change the GTI ABS module to the R32 ABS module?
just weld your front diff done.
Guys! It would be awesome if you were to convert FWD to AWD! Makes much more sense IMHO. For a CC or Tiguan using corresponding EU car configs.
You guys will need to cut out the spare tire well. The rear subframe won’t fit if that’s not done.
Paul: I’ll just move that out of the way
😆🤣😂
I have a b4 passat vr6 I just got a cd009 for. The next step is figuring out the rear diff setup that won't explode when I put the boost to it. This is gonna help me out
Woww straight fire 🔥 he should rap more often
