I know this is pretty old at this point (over a year), but I would LOVE to see how this was mixed. I've been enjoying the One Man band stuff! Pretty amazing how great it sounds considering the gear used!

I would love to see you mix, been a fan since the Underoath stuff you mixed, one of the greatest sounding records ever in my opinion (esp. drums - that snare!)

This goes to show that a guy that's a good musician and recording engineer with a DAW far out weighs any mic amp in use. It would have to be a defective preamp not to get a great sound. Of course a great board makes things easier at least in the tracking stage. Enjoy your videos and really do appreciate what you do!

Hi JR! I Just discovered at you. Hope you'll don't stop this series and hope to see everything about your great job. I think there is more that one person out there interested to this approach and i'm really impressed about it in every side!! Thank for your time to this. Dario

Man, I was bummed to see you didn't actually finish the series with the mixing video. I'm a big fan of your mixing (stemming from my adolescent love for Relient K), and having studied sound recording in college. I'm a novice mixer but feel like I've got a pretty decent ear, I'm just constantly learning how to get better with each project. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of one of your mixing/tracking sessions one day!

JR this is a great series. Makes me wish I had some time to record! Thank you for sharing - super fun! I would love to see more of your behind the scenes for these songs. Maybe plugins and settings/eqs/mic placement/ice cream breaks - whateve ;-).

Thanks, Man! Well, this series is sort of a test run to see if there is any interest. If I do more, they will definitely be way more in-depth. However, at this point, I'm not seeing too much action, so I might just finish this one series, and call it done. I dig doing them, but it REALLY is a lot of work to do these things all by myself…and if there isn't an audience, it's hard to justify the time spent to do them. I'm still trying to figure out how to get people to see them, without becoming "The Spam Guy" on all the message boards. Anyhoo…I am very glad that you dig, my friend! :)

For what it's worth I for one would love to keep seeing videos like this. And especially ones that are more in-depth! I don't mean to be a fan boy but I've listened to your mixes ever since Relient K's Mmmhmm and have dreamed of seeing you provide tutorials with gear similar to what I use. I'm a PhD student in psychology but when I'm not doing that I have almost the exact same "old school" studio set up that you have here in this project. So I hope we can get more people interested!!

JRMixesTheMusic my man, please don't stop. It may take time but the audience will grow. I found your stuff today by chance while looking up old consoles. Now I'm a fan and subscriber. You can bet I will be sharing with some friends too. I think graham from recording revolution will really dig this. I don't mind spammi...I mean sharing it with him. 😜
