  • WHEW! This was a HUGE undertaking and we're so thankful to have our trail system open now. The trails were completely impassable when we moved in, so it was months before we could even see all the parts of our property.

The bent trees can also be explained by having them stand to close, so that they don't form big trunks and get easily bent by snow and ice.. don't worry.. just cut them down

Nice! Our neighbor carved out a 7 mile loop recently. He walks everyday and we call him the man of the woods. He believes in low impact interventions, and adds his own, artistic touches wherever he goes. Needless to say, we give him free reign on our land to do the same!

Check out the work of artist Patrick Dougherty. Seeing your wood piles made me think of him instantly. Your winter landscape is stunning.

I'd build to the left of you, clear trees and make it look more like a park @ 0:50 :)

Hello from Forest Lake Minnesota!! Wow thats alot of snow damage. The good news is that its not the first time the woods have experienced this kind of damage. It will bounce back over time. Just a bummer until it does. Tanya and I volunteer to come help feed the chipper!!😅

Wow! That is A LOT! Maybe somehow u can rent or buy that machine that eats up that kinda woods like a boss! Sow the Land recently hired someone to come into their woods to clear it....oh and so did That 1870's Homestead did too. Maybe some rich subscriber will help u out with that 😁🤞

That would be SO nice! We looked at buying a wood chipper but it would be thousands of dollars for a big commercial grade one that we’d need for a job this large. We’re considering renting one, but even still, it would take many days to get through it all. We’ll see!

The bent trees probably won't recover is my unprofessional opinion. I have the same problem.
I'm slowly clearing mine. Making way for new growth. Some into firewood..most into my woodchipper. Wood chips coming in handy for garden, mulch, and compost🤠

I agree - I think they’ll just be smashed down more once this winter is over 😭. I would LOVE a wood chipper!

How many acres do you have the trail looping through? We are trying to do something similar on our property

Such a fantastic video ❤️ You both have worked so hard on your land.
I am happy you got a drone, very cool sights of your land but I have a heart condition and all of those tricky moves the drone was doing made it act up a bit 💔 Maybe not so much shooting straight down and stuff 🤔 Anyhow, I got through it
Love what you are doing and represent!!!
    P.S.
The brush is wonderful homes for the wildlife...just maybe not so much 😂
