I tend to be a Disney purist and understand that a lot of people didn't like this 'updated' version of the show but I miss it and l always felt it was more engaging than how the original show held up in today's society.
For anyone who wants to find out the full story about the closure:
It was around 5:00 PM. The show was running normal, but an interruption happened in the middle of the show. The guests had to be escorted out of the building. A small fire happened in the attic of the Tropical Serenade. Another report stated that the damaged Iago with bandages and clutches at the end of the show survived, but the main Iago animatronic at the beginning of the show ended up being burnt and scorched. At the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the sprinkler system was turned on, causing a few animatronics and props to be water damaged. The attraction closed permanently and at the D23 expo in May 2011, Imagineers revealed that the attraction would return as “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room” with new programming and an updated script. TMI there.
The fire must have a sense of humor since it copied something that happened in the attraction
hopefully we get few more renaissance era birds in the show
like Ono, Scuttle, and Archimedes
I remember seeing this show when I was a kid! It was one of my favorite attractions, since I’m a huge fan of The Lion King.

Rowan and Gilbert
As soon as Iago & Zazu appeared, with their first lines in the script being in direct proportion to their personalities, it became a close bet between this version and the original building. Also, Iago making a spoof of "Friend Like Me" and the new show starting almost exactly like the old one, are personal highlights.
My favorite part is near the end Iago is like, man I'm tired, I think I'll go over to the Hall of Presidents and take a nap 😅

When I first attended this, my family was seated directly under Zazu. We had a lot of fun X3
Lol Iago is a Hot Head, like an Angry Bird, I never knew Iago in Zazu were Involved in the Tiki Room, Because The Disneyland Resort still has The Original Tiki Room although I heard this got Removed.

Wow! Thanks for posting. Never knew this existed. Im from Los Angeles so I've only ever seen Disneylands version. This looks like so much fun! I wish Disneyland would at least do a re theme every xmas or something just to change it up a bit. With today's technology it would be awesome with some upgrades. Great editing too btw!

Even looking into the history of the original show, for some reason, I don’t see this as completely inferior. I always loved it when media pokes fun of itself for laughs. It’s one of the reasons I love The Lion King 1 1/2.
I haven’t recalled ever going on either version, so I’m probably the last guy you’d wanna talk to.
