Chris Cornell… a rare gem! Beautiful, humble, angelic voice, and gifted beyond belief! You truly left the world a little colder when you left us but your legacy provides enough warmth to hold on until we meet again. Depression as an illness is deadly. When you are down in the dump when you have everything in the world to be grateful for is incredibly painful and hopeless. Wanting to die surrounded by people who love you is confusing and soul shattering. I wish therapists, counselors, clergy, parents, and other loving people would educate themselves on mental health issues. I wonder if Chris really met to say You need to let me DIE alone instead of FLY alone. Mental health is only understood by us who suffer it. Keep Flying Chris🖤
Both chris Cornell and Chester bennington had such amazing voices. They both left a legacy to millions of people to remember them by and that was their music. They both will never be forgotten.
Gone too Soon, I love you Chris. Goodbye and thank you, I owe you so much. Your voice made it possible getting out of bed and living on tougher days, nobody could ever give me that, Your performances will be missed and I cant say much at this moment but apart from that music just lost one of its greatest voices, You my man , cant believe that soon . ME TOO WTF I CANNOT GET PAST THIS IM CONSTANTLY ON HIS RUclips OR FACEBOOK OR ANYTHING CHRIS CORNELL ...GOD WE REALLY LOST A GREAT ONE!! THE ANGLES IN HEAVEN BETTER MOVE OVER CAUSE THEY CANT POSSIBLY SING AS HEAVENLY AS HIM!!!
I am a original Soundgarden SUPERFAN...20 years ago I would not of listened to this but now I get it and I'm so happy. Its like getting a gift after Christmas Thank you Chris...love you man
How is it that you can never meet someone personally (although I did grow up in the Seattle area) but somehow through their music and lyrics over the years you feel like you know them and they know you and your the best of friends and then one day they're gone and it hurts so f*****g bad??? Only three times in my life have I cried over the loss of someone I didn't know. One of them was Chris Cornell. You were the best, bro. Say hello to Heaven...
brettt777, I didn't really know him, except that we talked once, in Bellevue. But then you hear him being interviewed from his home in Issaquah, over the telephone on the local station. He would just go on and on and on, such a down to earth guy!!
It's because they are opening up to us, baring their souls to us. And our love crushes them under the weight of it. You know it and we all know it. It's stalker overload. It's all the interviews and glamour shots.
He was the most handsomest man and most beautiful voice in music. Every song he sings gives me goosebumps. My late husband could of been his twin. Hair face, music everything. Rip Chris and Billie Joe. I listing to Chris's songs at least once a night.
Why the fuck did critics attack this album or a song like this? I think a song like this gives us a more in-depth look at Chris's writing and melodic singing. He was someone who could do just about anything. R.I.P.
'cause the original one is too pop styled... believe me I was gave up at the first track(Part of me), until I pick it up again and go listen to some other track first, then all of its song in this album become the dope to me, you won't stop listening if you play the album right, like he said it will be either absolutely garbage or genius work...
Daniel Gilbert from what I've read Chris did not write this song... A friend of his did that died from cancer who wrote it as a poem to his daughter/for his daughter who had cancer and passed away... Chris turned the poem into this song, and he did do a great job with it... Turned it into a Masterpiece of a song...
He tried to tell everyone he was ready to leave this world and nobody listened until he was dead. That’s fucking sad that the music industry let this song play out when he was struggling with depression and anxiety. 😢
I remember when this came out. I was not doing well, going through a terrible divorce and mourning the loss of my family. I would play it over and over, thanks Chris, you will always be missed, RIP

His death broke my heart and it still hurts to this day. 💔 He is among another great talent with an amazing voice that left this earth too soon. I'll never get over his loss. I can't describe the feeling of knowing that we'll never hear his music, his voice again. Miss you Chris! 🙏 🕊
R.I.P. CHRIS CORNELL 🌠☄️ Your black days are now sun rays, no one will sing like YOU ANYMORE! YOUR NEVER long gone your here in Spirit ALWAYS! Your burden in your hands are like timeless classic stars! I'll follow you into the desert for a long time! Please say hello to heaven for me! ✨💫☄️🌠 Forever in my head & heart! You're a true testament to everyone you've touched in this wicked world! LOVE from 🇨🇦🌠✨💫✨💞
Should have sent this song to someone years ago. Sadly he chose to continue living lies, always will. If only all "musicians " were all as deep and down to Earth as Chris Cornell. No one will ever come close to this guy's epic talent with a profound connection to the spirit in all.
Brian Dawkins I know how you feel. It makes no sense how someone could be there one moment and gone the next and you wish you could've done something and whatever they say seems like lies because it makes no sense. it's always the good people who leave us and the bad stick around like friggin leeches.
Brian Dawkins .. it does not seem to make sense. . there is sadness and anger together, and unanswered "why???" I copied below what I posted on another site... I identify a lot with his lyrics and his band. A couple of relatives unfortunately died through suicide over the years. Depression (ie clinical depression; not the sad moods we all experience) is a disease of the mind, which destroys our perception that we could be happy (even if a person superficially appears to have everything/success/etc) , and even destroys our self-preservation instinct in that deepest darkest moment of emptiness. So they, unwittingly, choose the worst solution to their intense emotional pain, and we lose a loved one. RIP, Chris.
So, we are ALL in AGREEMENT HERE. As a mom, I can tell you when any human takes themselves out before their time, the pain is unbearable even if I do NOT know that person. PLEASE pay attention to your surrounding now. If you hear a cry for help, please attend to it immediately. If you hear a ping of danger in your gut. PLEASE pay attention to it right here, right NOW. WE MUST BAND together and NEVER let another talented soul take himself or herself out. AGREE?????????
Same. I wish I knew him and could tell him about narcissistic abuse. I believe if he knew he was married to a woman with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and more he would have left her ass early on and would be alive today.
Honestly I do not believe he took his own life. None of it makes sense if you follow it. I have never been one to believe in conspiracy theories but for this It ALL DIDNT MAKE SENSE AND EVER CHESTER. I am going to keep trying to find the true evidence because these two beautiful souls don't deserve to go like this and no Justice is bullshit
There HAS never, and never will be, a voice that compares to this rock wizards magical vocals. He was the complete package. Singing, composing, instrumentals, he did it all!! I will never stop mourning the loss of the greatest singer/composer that ever walked the face of the earth. He made this world a better place for having been here but so much sadder for having lost him. The pioneering imprint he made on music will never die. I pray that your continued journey, is as happy for you, as your much too brief existence here, was for those of us who adored you, Chris Cornell!! To say we will miss you doesn't come close to articulating the loss and the voids in our hearts that you have left us with. There will never be another to fill your shoes, EVER!!! Thank you for leaving your phenomenal artistic genius with us with which to remember you by, even though it just isn't enough without you here~~ Rock in Peace, sweet angel!! Say Hello to Heaven and save me a seat next to you!! You will always be the TRUE garden of sound, and we, mere mortals, the slaves to your audio immortality! Please promise, it's not goodbye in a world of higher truths!
Seen Chris in Louisville Kentucky in 2007. 2 rows from stage. It was something watching him perform. That voice the range this wonderful man had. What a gift we were all able to enjoy and still do. ❤ Was scheduled to see him in Orlando at Hard Rock, I believe the Nov before he passed I cant remember the year nor do I want to remember the year to heartbreaking. It a 45 minute drive for me then just outside of Orlando it was announced the concert was canceled. I swear it felt like my heart was torn in 2 😢. I read once that no other musician can reach so many octaves. Yes I have CDs showing my age. I'm trying to get all every last song. My playlist can only hold so much due to age of phone. Albums are coming back every album of his needs to become available. Sales might surprise some me not at all. As long as I have the money I'll buy and play as loud as I want. First part of May will be absolutely terrible. I'm not sorry this is so long miss the man the musician the voice ❤❤❤
Oh I how regret not listening to all of this man's songs sooner. Fantastic voice, songwriter, sounded like a wonderful person too. I did like a couple of his tunes growing up but I didn't listen to enough to become a fan. I'm appreciate him writing and performing his music, he's left a wonderful legacy. Shame he felt he had to do what he did, but as a mental health sufferer I have empathy for people like Chris Cornell. RIP Chris Cornell and thank you.

I wonder if Chris really met to say You need to let me DIE alone instead of FLY alone. Mental health is only understood by us who suffer it. Keep Flying Chris🖤
Thank you.
He is probably the best songwriter we have right now.
Dave :(
:(
Dave ....I hate being sad miss you Chris
He was.

Both chris Cornell and Chester bennington had such amazing voices. They both left a legacy to millions of people to remember them by and that was their music. They both will never be forgotten.
I'm a bad singer ...but this guy pushs me to do it even if i m so bad on that ....R I P Chris
The lyrics from his songs and his voice is really beautiful that you just want to sign them bro

One of My Favorites, Miss Him , Extremely Talented , There Will Never Be Another Like Him 💔❤️
So right, i cry just about every song....
I know that is not the same, but Ritchie Kotzen is another great musician and his voice when he sing is very similar to the Cornell voice.

Thank you and nothing but tremendous respect and honor for you. Listening to this song its almost like a part of me died..

Varun Zingh I feel the same way dude it's really crazy but I can't let go...or maybe I don't want to he was such a big part of my history that they go hand in hand so if I keep the troubled memories from my past just so I can keep the pain of him being gone it's ok w me he means that much to me that the pain is a small price to pay
LILARYAN GIRL Still miss him. What a great song. Playing a tribute in two weeks doing most of his songs.. what a genius this guy was. Rest well Chris..

We miss you Chris. :(
Good Night Sweet Prince. Voice of a generation
True that
@J.P. Sayer I would the same except that it would be in the present tense.
It's because they are opening up to us, baring their souls to us. And our love crushes them under the weight of it. You know it and we all know it. It's stalker overload. It's all the interviews and glamour shots.
A brilliant musician and lyricist; a lot of us miss him, including me. A tragic loss for sure!
Chris Cornell is just beautiful.
Legends never die
They are born. ❤
Rest in peace Chris Cornell.
He was the most handsomest man and most beautiful voice in music. Every song he sings gives me goosebumps. My late husband could of been his twin. Hair face, music everything. Rip Chris and Billie Joe. I listing to Chris's songs at least once a night.
Who are you spaking in regards to, considering Chris has a twin and it's me.
Aww.
I'm sorry Vera. I hope your heart has healed a little since this post 4 years ago.
How are you doing?
Hope you're ok.
Why the fuck did critics attack this album or a song like this? I think a song like this gives us a more in-depth look at Chris's writing and melodic singing. He was someone who could do just about anything. R.I.P.
'cause the original one is too pop styled... believe me I was gave up at the first track(Part of me), until I pick it up again and go listen to some other track first, then all of its song in this album become the dope to me, you won't stop listening if you play the album right, like he said it will be either absolutely garbage or genius work...
because the nimrods believe someone like chris cornell shouldn't be working with someone like timbaland, that's all
Critics don't matter at the end of the day
This song just hit me like a ton of bricks. Leave it up to Chris Cornell to write such a piece of art.
💔😭😭😭 rest in piece chris... fuck.
Scott Gibson I’m sure it was about divorce. He wanted to divorce his wife Vicky.
best rock vocalist alive
:(
Bruno Monteiro this comment now makes me sad 😢
Not anymore...
Immortal...
Yes he was, he will be the best rock vocalist to EVER live!!!

the man with the most beautifully talented trained voice ever. want a clone of him
He has 2 brothers. Will they do?
His death broke my heart and it still hurts to this day. 💔 He is among another great talent with an amazing voice that left this earth too soon. I'll never get over his loss. I can't describe the feeling of knowing that we'll never hear his music, his voice again. Miss you Chris! 🙏 🕊
One of the finest voices ever.
Damn. only Chris and Chester wrote songs that understand me. #RIPChrisCornell #RIPChester

I feel ya, Sista. Indeed.
Sending You Much Positive Energy. Bless. -Ali

I hope you were in a better place because i think you were, are and always will be a real genius.
RIP Chris Cornell
I don't get it man. I need answers. Fucking swear I just want to find some sense of it all. It shouldn't have ended like this.
Brian Dawkins life's a bitch man
Brian Dawkins I know how you feel. It makes no sense how someone could be there one moment and gone the next and you wish you could've done something and whatever they say seems like lies because it makes no sense. it's always the good people who leave us and the bad stick around like friggin leeches.
it is not life itself, it is some people in life that are....
Brian Dawkins .. it does not seem to make sense. . there is sadness and anger together, and unanswered "why???"
I copied below what I posted on another site...
RIP, Chris.
Brian The Brain Dawkins he had it all it saddens me why hes gone
I'm long gone, long gone.....Yes you did ...
A Beautiful soul taken too soon....He is "Long Gone "- unfortunately 😢❤
Chris et Chester vous me manquez tellement 😢 votre musique m'accompagne tout les jours ❤
I'm still finding his loss a hard one. Fuck his voice was amazing.
Cornell’s voice was a baritone with endless reserves of breath and the seething tension of contained power #RIPChrisCornell
Piercing blue eyes. Royalty at its best. RIP, dear Chris. You have a bigger trip ahead. Hold on for the ride!
I fuckin miss you chris😔😔😔😔
Profound sadness hits me when I hear this, yet love it. Miss him forever😢❤😢❤😢❤😢
I wish I could save him
Everytime he sings that line it breaks my heart.. if you save me.. ugh!! heart breaks..
i have the same felling
Phil Xenidis on guitar here. Rest in peace, Chris.
This made me cry but it's the truth
Ritchie Kotzen has an amazing voice very similar to Chris' voice
😓💔
Great, poetical speech for the musical genius of Chris!!! And, yes, he was a rare, real modern genius.
You are not long Gone because you are here with us forever.
My god, he was so gorgeous ❤️
Oh I how regret not listening to all of this man's songs sooner. Fantastic voice, songwriter, sounded like a wonderful person too. I did like a couple of his tunes growing up but I didn't listen to enough to become a fan. I'm appreciate him writing and performing his music, he's left a wonderful legacy. Shame he felt he had to do what he did, but as a mental health sufferer I have empathy for people like Chris Cornell. RIP Chris Cornell and thank you.
