I never knew you, I saw you only once at an acoustic concert on one of the coldest days in my city. You were sitting with your guitar and a couple of candles as a backdrop. Your voice illuminated the stage. The lyrics of your songs were the warmth for that chilly night. Remembering you today on the day of your death makes me very melancholic, like remembering an older brother who is no longer here, a friend who left without saying goodbye. Now that I am a father, I show your songs to my son so that he can have the same friend that I will always have since you will be immortal in my memory.
For a guy who wrote harmonically complex songs, I always thought this a real high point of Chris' solo stuff. Beautiful and complex harmonically , but sounds deceptively simple because you can sing the melody.through the changes. It's like all great jazz standards and Beatles songs.

He had it all on surface but nobody and no amount of recognizition could ever change how tortured his soul was within consumed by the deepest darkness. Chris Cornell, the underrated best rock n roll singer of all time.
Considering Chris Cornell did the title song for the Casino Royale film, this song really has another 'Bondish-feel' that would have suited another Daniel Craig movie really well!
Especially the lyrics "She's going to change the world, But she can't change me" referring to Bond trying to find a long term relationship with someone who understands him although he will never back down from his Secret Agent status lifestyle :)
HOW was this NOT a big hit? When it first came out it had awesome drums, lyrics. Sound and vocals. The guitar has a sitar quality to it. Its one of my favorites. Were people expecting Soungarden? The Beatles proved thst change is the KEY to successful music. The drffetent time signatures , the sitar like guiar ? Was it just ahead of its time ? R.I.P Chris Cornell , u took a musical direction change that only those that understand the true beauty of music would get!! Brian Wilson did it also and it nearly destroyed him! He had it all on surface but nobody and no amount of recognizition could ever change how tortured his soul was within consumed by the deepest darkness. Depression is hell, its sickness can sour on all of us and we must lend that helpful hand to those suffering to offer the glimpse of light to hold on, trapped in the loneliness of their despair.
I'll shall NEVER get tired of watching this video. Mind, body & soul, Chris Cornell was my idea of Perfection, as well as a musical genius.. Gosh, THOSE EYES.....
We miss u Chris
He was incredibly gorgeous too
@@theresaharris5096he sure was

I'm still discovering the layers to his music. This is an incredible song.
What a fucking masterpiece. The song and video are so good on so many levels. When Live 105 played this yesterday during their Chris Cornell tribute hour, I definitely got teary. RIP Chris Cornell.
my favorite singer of all times from the beginning
RIP
davidn11 me too
Yeah u right Chris, you changed the world.
I am obsessed with this song lately.
Thanks for the love 💕
I was too. 9 year
Chris Cornell is the gorgeous one.
was* 😢
So very sad.
The most gorgeous man to me because he was raw and pure.
RIP man. Thanks for your music.
Chris you had that it thing. You just couldn't conquer your demons. We luv u
Chris was awsome in all those bands and in solo. Both bands were 2 of my favourites bands of alltime. They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on our last video from our first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' ruclips.net/video/i1fVRW6z3n4/видео.html and Happy new year
Omg.... He is so fine! I don't personally know him but I want him to greet me in heaven. His lyrics speak volumes to my soul. It's A need and it's bad.
This song is so comforting when you understand the message. This is a song for men!
Roger Salazar Ganoza or lesbians
omg he was so talented and beautiful.. how this is possible
ONE miracle of GOD, 💎😇🌈
he wanted truth and all he found was lies..so he checked out...better luck next time chris.... Namaste.
@@mustangmikep51 Evil forces in this world took Chris (and the others) away from us too soon, either way. And if only there was a next time ... at least in THIS dimension. 🥰✌️🕉️🎶
▶️🙋♂️🍺
Easy♥️
Am I the only one watching this on a loop?
As his 22 yeared old fan I can't stand he passed. Such a big-hearted peron he was
R.I.P Chris Cornell thank you for the wonderful music!
Rip Chris Cornell.. Sad ..one of my favorite musicians
I remeber watching this when it was released on MTV. Probably the very first contact with Chris that I had... was about 11 yrs old or something. Still remember that momment, still remember the feeling of amusement even though I couldnt rly understand what was I seeing and listening to.
Chris Cornell, the underrated best rock n roll singer of all time.
He truly sends chills down my body. One of the most amazing pure voices in rock n roll history.
R.I.P Chris Cornell you are an icon, the best voice of all the times...
Considering Chris Cornell did the title song for the Casino Royale film, this song really has another 'Bondish-feel' that would have suited another Daniel Craig movie really well!
THAT'S TRUE HAHAHA
Especially the lyrics "She's going to change the world, But she can't change me" referring to Bond trying to find a long term relationship with someone who understands him although he will never back down from his Secret Agent status lifestyle :)
TheSmaxZonedElite some have to make a James Bond video with this one.
Always loved this song. Sounds like the guitar is tuned down a full step which makes it sound awesome.
He composed the most heartfelt music. I still cry. If I knew there was an afterlife for sure,I'd follow you Chris, endlessly. My
Only 💘love
RIP Chris Cornell 🙁
R.I.P. Chris We Love You
C,C u on the other side ♥
HOW was this NOT a big hit? When it first came out it had awesome drums, lyrics. Sound and vocals. The guitar has a sitar quality to it. Its one of my favorites. Were people expecting Soungarden? The Beatles proved thst change is the KEY to successful music. The drffetent time signatures , the sitar like guiar ? Was it just ahead of its time ? R.I.P Chris Cornell , u took a musical direction change that only those that understand the true beauty of music would get!! Brian Wilson did it also and it nearly destroyed him!
On a side note but related, the same damn thhing happened to the Beastie Boys when the changed direction with " Pauls Boutique " ANOTHER album that was ahead of its time ! R.I.P Adam.....
Feels... when you listen to Cornell, you're praying for better days, really. He was a Christian, metalheads.
Your words is very good
Such a beautiful song. You will be missed, Chris.
i agree orangequartermusic, chris is the best of all, even bigger than paul mac cartney, and i am a beatles fan! how could i live without black hole sun, steel rain, sunshower or part of me...simply the best!
GREAT MAN & GREAT MUSICIAN with such talent.. So sad he went so soon, but his music & his legacy shall live forever. R.I.P, MR. CHRIS CORNELL!
Chris Cornell's solo work is so underrated
I can't be changed, but I wil
l change the world
Yes it is. Don't hate me.
why would anyone dislike this video he is amazing
+craftygab 73 cunts that gave it a thumbs down like Justina "I suck big dicks" Beaver, Miley "I lick assholes with my gross tongue"Cyrass and Kanye "President Obama called me a Jackass "West. :( They are fuckwits like their "heroes".
true
+craftygab Because they dislike the song.
Well to be honest, i'm not that impressed with this song. It's not bad but not good either, quite mediocre if you ask me.
Elisabeth_D but nobody asked you.
You save me Chris…still 💔
Every time I hear his voice it brings tears and a smile together!!! R.I.P.
the world is gonna miss you man glad to see you play 2 years ago you were one of the best 90s singers thank you for all your music legacy RIP
The first solo Chris song I heard, and loved it nearly right away... a great singer and song-writing talent! R.I.P.
Me paso lo mismo
MY goodness the most beautiful song i ever heard in my life, i really mean it, not just because emotionally feeling of his death... what a VOICE !!! where else could we find such a VOICE !!! ...tears...
Chris was and is awesome. You can read stuff into lyrics later. You never really know what is next but sad. He was flat out great and very intense.
