🙌🏻 How’d u know?

not all heroes wear capes
Thanks, one has to trawl through so much gassing in these vids to get a bit of playing...
I just burnt my omelette for this.
You did the right thing.
LOL. I love that lil tweed gem. Eggs are cheap.
Is that a euphemism?
Danish Dudes playing really makes me SMILE.. so smooth and soulful. Captain hitting some beautiful notes too!
MrJourney2anywhere Pete definitely has “it”. The Capt. has great feel as well, he just doesn’t push it as much.
Whoever edits these vids deserves a medal. I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion.
Rory is fucking great
Agreed I always find myself laughing hard at the editing!
Yup. The editing is top class.
This one is not Rory!! :)
Pete's playing at the end of the pro junior demo was to die for. And I love this pro junior the most.
Pete's monster riff at 28:00 is just jaw-dropping. It's a cliche, but he's forgotten more than I'll ever know as it relates to playing guitar.
Pro Junior is an inspiring amp. Finally Pete started to play music! Love it and bought one.
11:39 Deluxe
22:47 Pro Jr
30:54 Blues Jr
Great
I love you time stampers :)
MVP!
not all heros wear capes
you legend
Sold me on that pro jr, boys. Even though you tried hard not to :D
Me too
Just got a Pro Junior IV as a little practise/travel amp and despite usually playing bigger amps (Morgan RCA35), this little thing has something magical. At bedroom volume, using my Fender Mex Strat, I feel immediately inspired and can't stop playing. Add a nice overdrive to it and you're golden. So far, I only liked 10" speakers with bass amps, but in this little amp, the Jensen is very responsive and makes you play very percussive. That's pure fun. I'm using OCD, ElecLady and Strymon Lex and El Capistan with it.
Pro junior sounds amazing with that Les Paul!! Not to mention Pete’s wonderful playing!!
Beauty is in the ears of the beholder isn't it? I was hearing a little can of angry bees in overdrive, but sweet when clean... Probably nice in person though
Surprised my son with a fender tele and a Hot Rod Deluxe. I was amazed at how the Deluxe screamed at a super low volume. He especially loved the amp
2023 checking in..... Lee and Pete still crushing it!!
Cheers Gents From South Carolina
The Blues Junior uses EL84s, not 6V6s.
The blues junior is still sporting an el84 btw guys :)
It’s funny how they seem the least impressed with the Pro Jr, but clearly Pete is the most inspired while playing it. And it has the most character.
One of the things I love about this channel is how much variation there is in personalities. One day I'm watching Chapman, next day Pete. It keeps things fresh yet familiar.
Love how the captain doesn't care for the PJ yet we all do and Pete absolutely turns into a machine whilst playing it 😆
I'm a simple man. I see a video with Fender in the title and Pete in the thumbnail, I click
Will Anderson Amen to that.
Pete stroking the guitar and it being blurred out seriously made my day. Absolutely hilarious. Great video guys. Cheers from California.
That Pro Junior is an awesome blues box. Plug in a Les Paul with a Tube Screamer and you’ve got yourself a pretty decent and inexpensive approximation of Joe Bonamassa’s sound from his tour with all Fender Tweeds.
My god Pete is a great player. Even if I have no interest in the subject of the video, I always love listening to Pete play.
Watched this at 4am after 2 hours sleep....the best video you have done for a long time......
lol same
Pete should do an episode with his favorite licks and phrases. The dude has some serious chops
Pro jr wins on this video. The one you guys liked the least but Pete made it sound so good with the Les Paul.
That Deville sounds absolutely heavenly!!
That pro junior is amazing.
boxy and tiny sounding
When Pete was playing it? Nah
Wow! Pete and the Pro Junior was the best part of this video. I’m buying one.
Just got a Pro Junior III new the other day! It’s the sweetest! Small, lite and loud enough for gigs! Just add reverb and it would be perfect for me. As is it’s almost perfect! Sounded just the way I like with the Lester Paul!
Great playing, Lee. Outrageous sounds coming out of mid-range Fender tube amps!
That Pro Junior tho... Daymn!
Tuomas Raatikainen Pete went into another zone on the Pro Jr. It was incredible!
I’ve had one for almost a decade now and have always been wondering why it doesn’t get more love... totally underrated amp- esp if you mod it and run it thru a 2x12
I was thinking about getting two of them and a split Marshall 4x12 and run them stereo. I bet a rig like that would KILL!
The pro junior is fantastic. It might be my fav.
Another stonking, informative and downright amusing vid. Cheers chaps.
That purple tele is so pretty...
The Pro Junior is best run as a pedal platform in my opinion, run at about 5 on the volume. Also, replacing the 12ax7 with a 12ay7 makes for a sweeter, less angry sounding amp. It's a modern classic in my opinion and always thought it sounded better than the Blues Junior. Used by many pros in the studio. Always love getting a Deville as a backline amp! Great video guys!
Pete's heavenly playing nearly puts me to sleep every time. Love it
I have used a Blues Jr tweed NOS for gigging for a couple years now. Super simple. Put a sm57 in front of it to get louder. Very pedal friendly. Sounds better on the floor. Picks up more bass frequencys on the floor.
28:00 to 29:00 was insane
Great like always! Honestly, at gigs where the amp is mic’d, I don’t see how you can beat the Blues Jr at the size and price range.
What a joy to listen to. Lovely sound
That lick at 11:56 so sooooo nice! Love the playing and the amps sound amazing. Wish I had a space where I could be loud and use one of these!
Commented before I heard the Blues Jr. Holy shit, I want one of those :P
Pete here just became my new favourite guitar player. That 28:00 minute mark shred, then that gorgeous serenade at 30:40, and ofc that orgasmic send off chord at 31:35. Is this what love feels like? xD
Pete doesn’t even break a sweat on that LP in the Pro. Such a joy to watch.
You guys are nuts and part of the reason I started playin ....🎶🎸👍🌿😏
2 + 2 is Rob - 1 that's Lee, quick maths
27:40 Oh Lord Pete, Amazing Playing!
tried a blues junior and blues deluxe other day there all very nice amps
thanks guys very enjoyable
Pete is an amazing addition to your videos thank you !
WoW ...Pete rocks the house on the Les Paul - the Blues Jnr well cool - thanks
When Danish Pete was on the LP and the little Fender Pro and started really tearing it up, I'm like "Who the hell is this, and what have they done with Pete"????
The exit jam was terrific!
Picked up the Pro Junior IV last year. A/B'd it with my Tweed Blues Jr III and sold the Blues Jr. The PJ is a tone machine. I've jammed with it and gigged with it mic'd up and sounded great.
I had to look up "Man's not hot" but i was so delighted when I did! Thanks Captain!
the Pro Junior, it takes a certain kind of player . you can place it in a bigger cabinet and add a 12" speaker (like gearmandude) or just leave it as is and fiddle with the tone and volume until you get that tone that works for you
I went to guitar center today and Pro Jr just amazed me with tone compared to Blues Jr. even without reverb Pro is just better for my ear. Guys - always try your gear first. 🔥
Pete rocking that Les Paul, awesome!! :0
Power tubes are EL84 for the Blues Junior not 6V6 as Captain stated...you're getting rusty Cap!
Scott Card I think this proves that EL84 is not really what gives Vox ACs the ridiculously bright spanking British tone, but perhaps more circuitry and speakers
The Deville is 6l6
So right
I don't buy anything until I see one of your reviews. All of these amps are on my short list! Looking forward to what I'm about to see. Thanks a ton \m/
For years i gigged with my old Fender Super Reverb... 4-10's, and it was a killer amp. And it was also a back killer amp. I moved over to a Tweed Blues Junior, and for most club gigs it's the perfect amp. Any larger, and it gets a mic. Perfect with pedals... I love my Tweed Blues Junior... (Of course I am 4 years too late for the video...hahahaha)
The Pro Junior IV makes you work a bit more than bigger amps but when you find that sweet spot it rewards you with more harmonic complexity. I use a TC MojoMojo overdrive and a touch of reverb and the amp morphs into a little monster. Small amps do their magic at reasonable volume which is more fun than trying to use a bigger amp that never reach output tube saturation in most real world situations. My big amps are getting a lot less play at home now that I have the Pro Junior IV.
That small tweed sounds awesome recorded, love it!
Don't know why Lee's so dark on the PJ, maybe his tone radar's out. Anyway the Pro Jnr kills it hands down in this demo, especially with Pete's playing.
I wish I had Pete's skills and knowledge. Such a versatile player.
Wow Lee’s playing has gotten so much better, like night and day....I have owned both the HR and Deville about 20 yrs ago. It has very nice baseman like clean tones and decent very slight overdrive sound. Med/high gain sound is hideous. Never personally owned the BJ, but it sounds great and portable. A great little amp.
Love seeing all these different guitars. I want a Gretsch so bad.
I think the Blues Jr sounds the best in this demo. I tried one in the store against other amps including the deluxe and liked it the best there as well. Thick warm and tasty! I love the fat button. Unless you want to get REALLY loud like "knock you down, and you have to stand 50 yards away loud, it's plenty. I think people (I used to) believe a bigger amp is always better. Just turn down the volume right? Amps sound better turned up. If it's too loud turned up and you have it on 1, It won't sound it's best. I played in a band with a little 40W SS Mustang 2 with the volume at 2-3 and it was plenty loud for our little band. We played in front of as many as 60-70 people and had 5 guitar players. I could have used the Pro Jr. and had more than enough. You could mic into the PA if you wanted louder as well. People make it sound as if you need a huge amp to gig. BTW, The Blues Junior uses EL84s, not 6V6s.
I really want a pro junior to use in stereo with my other amp. Maybe even get an extension cab for it
To me the difference in the sound between the Hot Rod Deluxe and the Deville was subtle but I could really hear it the a/b test. It just shows how much difference your sound can be changed just by having a different cabinet, even with the same speaker type.
FYI guys, great vid as always, but for those folks considering a Hot Rod Deluxe it is night and day better with the Fender extension cab that matches it. It changes it drastically from more mid sounding to more bass and much better all around full sound. Give it a shot before you look at mods etc and maybe even do a vid on extension cabs. Keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 btw I have the Gen 2 deluxe and have been using it with the cab for about 10 years with a deluxe reverb limited (sweeeeet amp)
You guys are awesome and made me smile more than once during the video. WRT the BJ IV, the Fender website says that the power amp has 2 x EL84's in it, not 6V6? Did I miss anything?
Great playing, both of you👌
The pro jr owns all the other amps imho.
Loved The Outro !!! Pete was great & the Captain also.
The Pro Junior has soul!
He's had a number of signature fender amps for ages!
Can't find any specs to support the 6v6 thing with the blues junior, but if thats the case then its a great move for that model. The trick with the pro junior is to realise its got no tone stack, so to get that "fender" thing you need a mid scoop in front of it. Boss od3 with the gain low works a treat, as does anything with bass and treble that allows for de-emphasis of the mid frequencies that make it sound small. A big muff pi works surprisingly well if you watch the tone is backed off on the amp. I personally love that it doesnt have a tone stack as some amps with will never give you that champ bark thats so important to making a fender guitar squawk, that seventies clapton sound. Great demos as ever!
really like these vids there very helpful and enjoyable great stuff
Shoot out between amps like the blues junior; sonzera PRS, vox ac 10-15, blackstar, marshall
I actually really liked the sound of the Pro Jr. that angry sound is great!
Just watch from around 26min when Pete just totally rips it. Captains face is hilarious. Love it.
I jammed at a club open mike night blues based jam for 7 year's on a Tuesday night.....the back line consisted of two Fender hot rod deluxe reverbs..... I'd set it to the clean channel and ran a tube screamer into it for leads ....great amplifier
Damn, you guys were saying the Pro Jr sounds pokey or w/e, on the recording it sounds amazing, from the first note to the end.
Man, Pete is such a lovely player!
Great tones with the Les Paul and the Pro Jr. at 28:00 😄👏🏻👏🏻😉
one of the best Pets jams I've ever seen ! definitely that made me a buier now
Very nice! (I wanted to hear the tele into these, though!)
Jason Cone yes i own a tele too would like to hear it i do own the hotrod 3
Need to throw a Blues Deluxe Reissue into the mix too, no one seems to be doing this 😢
Guys, you gotta add some time stamps for these longer videos featuring lots of gear
Great demo.
I wish Fender would recreate the G-Dec 3 30 practice amp! I just got my old one out and got some great sounds out of it. With today's tech and with backing tracts , that would be great
Great demo... I'm much into the new BJ, I think the speaker change just worked.
hot rod deluxe 3 vs hot rod deluxe 4
?.....who's with me
Make it so...
Same for BJR, pro junior --- do it all...
... number 1.
3 or 4? I'll pass, the version one sounded better and had that classic Fender amp tone. Fender ruined the tone and strayed from the classic Fender tone. The version 4 sounded darker and the reverb less lush. Fender is trying to make it sound like an old Marhall amp IMHO.
There is nosense because the Fender amps that try to sound like old marshall is the Bassbreaker. Anyway, if you want to sound barely like the 50's fender amps, Blues Deluxe and Blues DeVille do the job pretty awesome in a not expensive way.
Love the Blues Jr IV. Thinking of getting another for the stereo rig. Would be fun. It dies the big bass sparkle sound for sure
i've been waiting for this. so glad is the captain and pete.
Did anyone else notice that beautiful Photo of John Mayer in the back? 😂😂😂
I tell you I've tested The pro jnr vs the blues jnr and I love the pro so much more. It has such a great tone at such simplistic controls. BUT it is unusable for home use, because it only does its thing on full full. Then you regulate with your guitar controls and fingers and it is epic but very loud.
For some reason I didn't get an notification for this video, I had to double check to make sure I was still subscribed
WOW they absolutely saved the best for last. I am pre-ordering a Jr.
The pro junior is the one with the standout tone. Epic.
What I learnt today; the easiest way to change the tone of your amp is to change where you sit. Tried it in front of my iPad and could immediately make an informed judgement on which of these amps was best from the safety of anonymity.
The guy's got a point about " a good guitar player " making an amp sound good. A good guitar player sounds good even with the volume off. This guy's choice of phrasing is sweet and soulful.
I bought a brand new hot rod Deville in 2005. I tried both the 2x12 and the 4x10 side by side and chose the 4x10 because I thought it had a better fuller tone. It sounds great clean and loves pedals. Wish it came with a tremolo though...
