Your hair has came a long way girl! I think your stands are thin, but you have a lot of individual strands! Crazy how the right hair care regimen can change everything!
I've been really struggling with my hair. after about 4 years I have barely six inches of hair. I would absolutely love to see a video of exactly what you've done. so proud of fluff nugget's progress!!!!!
It sounds like you're not protecting your hair from breakage. What are you doing exactly with your hair? Have you been unwell? Are you eating enough? Please let me know so I can help. (Seriously)
@@aisha-3857 I have friends who went through something similar. I think you might be leaving your protective styles in too long. If you haven't tried this already, try leaving them in for maybe four-six months instead of a year to give your hair at least a week (or two) to breathe. Then braid it back up again and you'll hopefully get more effective results when you take your hair down. I hope these tips are both helpful and useful.🤞🏾🤞🏾🥰
the outcome is amazing 🤩 it looks more like a blowout, but I love a blowout over a silk press any day 🙌🏽 one suggestion I do have is to use a heat protectant serum when flat ironing/pressing instead of a spray. Heat protectant sprays are perfect for blow drying 👍🏽 you’ll also get a sleeker result with a serum 😊
@@peejay8791 the Silk Elements spray & serum both work great for me. They’re extremely inexpensive & can be found at your local beauty supply or Amazon/Walmart 👍🏽
I used to only finger detangle but as a person with really thick hair I realized I wasn’t getting all the shed hair out. I should probably to go back to only finger detangling every other wash because I feel like I had better length retention I also would probably recommend to get a silk press by a professional because when I try to do a silk press it looks like yours. We can’t be talented at everything 😅
I had this same issue. For years I only finger detangled, but it didn’t get the job done. Switched to deep conditioning and detangling with a brush before shampooing and got better results and less matting.
Do you own a steamer? (Hooded, Face or professional, not a clothing) That would help with the silkening effect of the hair because it allow conditioners and water to DIRECTLY into the hair's cuticle. Have you seen the tiktok steam and silk press videos?
Fluff nugget is doing amazing! You’re not getting a silkier lasting finish because you need to be a little more specific about your method/tools you’re using. Us dense thin high shrinkage 4c hair girlies have to focus more on technique. Especially if u don’t straighten your hair often.
Minimal heat definitely helps retain hair length. Once I learned that I stopped using direct heat. I only flat iron my hair once every 3 months sometimes I’ll go even longer.
Yes same I went like 2 months and didn't blowdry my hair and when I finally did I was like omg my hair is touching my collarbone 😍😍😍 so it's so exciting to see that everyone is on this journey and helping each other put and growing their hair!
If you want an alternative you could try doing a rollerset! Mo Knows Hair has some great videos on how to do it properly. It'll take longer because you MUST sit under a hooded dryer and dry your hair to completion. But there's 0 chance of heat damage because you're not applying direct heat, unless you use a flat iron to press your roots.
Revair is hands down better than the Revlon brush. My 6 yo daughter and I both have waist length 4a/b natural hair. It takes less time, less heat, no ripping, and hardly no tears/whining during the process. Our hair is more stretched. I haven't flat ironed yet bc it rains in my state ALL THE TIME. However, I assume it wouldn't take much heat to get bone straight hair with the straightener afterwards. Fluff nugget is gorgeous, and so are you! Congrats on your progress!!
love my revair, but I have to go in with another dryer to get roots straigt for a silk press. The Revair has kept my hair healthy it just can get the roots

Your hair has come so far, Lil Bit. As a fellow FL girl, I find reserving silk presses for February works the best bc there tends to be less rain and humidity.
I remember 2018 when you had four strands, and I had 2 strands left (which is why I subscribed.) I've been watching youtubers who used the Tymo straightener and I was thinking of getting one for my own special birthday gift. Well, I'm still not sure. Looks like a lot of work, but your hair is gorgeous no matter what you do.
ooo can you please do a vid on hair thickness- I’m in the process of removing my crochet and realised my hair was so thin! I don’t know how to remedy that though ❤
Your hair had grown and thickened so much. I still refer back to your older videos as I feel we (past you and i) have similar hair issues. So sorry about the humidity on your hair x
Suggestion for deep conditioning: look into a soft bonnet dryer. They’re really great and easy to store. While I’ll blow dry my own hair, I would always go to a trusted stylist for a silk press. That way I got great results, a trim and my arms got to rest 😂.
I heard a good straightening technique is to blow it out, twist it up and then straighten it the next day. Basically this helps it swell up and take in all the moisture and when you straighten it after it’ll last longer ❤ next year maybe you can try :)
I think the rain was the universe telling you it wanted to see your cloud hair instead lol. I'm on that same wave of wanting my hair to be as big as humanly possible. It would be nice to see an updated wash n go on all your new inches. Or even an fluffy afro tutorial! Your hair progress is great, continue to treat fluffnugget well and reap the rewards.
Honestly idec how you choose to style your clothes/hair/makeup... I just really like hearing your voice and seeing what your up to. You also saved my hair from autoimmune nonsense (hopefully, we go back and forth). So. I like the learning part too.
An update on products & techniques would be great. Especially any recs you have for athletes. I struggle to balance out being an equestrian, yogi, runner, morning person, and work. Sweating a lot + needing to look decent in public + limited time = struggle. Appreciate any tips from the comm!
@@jaimim3675 Knotless chunky braids are my go to as I work out a lot. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and redo my hair in less than 3 hours. I have been doing this for the past year and my hair has definitely thickened up.
TRY blow drying twice. One with the Revlon, then with chi silk infusion, using the paddle brush and blow dryer method. The silk press will be amazing if the initial blowdry is really good. When I got my hair silk pressed at a salon, that's what they did.
You should try getting your hair silk pressed professionally. Deeper Than Hair does a fantastic job. That way you know it’s being done right. Would love to see a professional silk press on you.
I understand how frustrating that is but I would also say silk press is one of those things that I find when I would do these kind of things to my hair it's best to have someone else do it if you have a salon that you trust or you have sisters have one of your sisters do it but doing it yourself is always incredibly frustrating
If you want your hair really straight you’ll need tension. Amazon sells a double sided denman brush that I personally use. But you can research it and see if it will work for your hair.
I also watch Deeper than hair tv and she says the key to a perfect silk press is the blow dry. So if you want to get bone straight hair you’ll probably need to use high heat on the blow dry and then you can do one pass with the flat iron
I think you should try one of the Babyliss flatirons. They’re so, so good! Also, have you ever tried the Hydrating Hair Mask from Innersense Organics? I use it instead of a conditioner every week and I’m literally OBSESSED with that stuff! It’s the best “conditioner” I think I’ve ever used on my hair. I know we have different curl patterns, but I still think it would work amazing for your hair! It has great ingredients and great slip! And the longer you let it sit on your hair, the better the slip! 🙌🏽🙌🏽😁
Have you tried mini twists? You can blow dry your hair for length and then put it in mini twists for a longer period of time. There's minimal manipulation and it's more protective in winter.
Deeper Than Hair TV on RUclips... Great tips and technique on straightening. 1 big thing to note is minimizing direct contact heat (hot comb, flat iron, hot curlers) to 1 to 2 pass on the hair to help avoid hear damage. Fluff Nugget is growing and glowing beautifully!!!
...I think the chi spray is supposed to be used before the blow dry. You spray lightly THEN blow dry and straighten. I know doing it the wrong way actually makes you more prone to heat damage.
The reason your hair doesnt have body might be due to the amount of products you have on your hair. That leave in conditioner looks kinda heavy and thiccc. I recommend using a super light hand with it because you will also layer a heat protector on top. When I use heat protectors i mix it with my leave in so i dont have to do double work. I have coarse to normal med to high density hair so i break my hair into 8 sections (they are medium sized) to make it more manageable. Section by section using a nickle sized amt of thiccc leave in with 2 to 3 sprays of heat protector. i work it in my denmin brush after ive applied it with my hands. You have finer hair so you have to be even more light handed than me probably. Maybe a penny sized amt of thiccc leave in and 1 to 2 sprays per section.
My hair is verrrryyyyy similar to yours (length, fine strands, all dat). I think the issue is that you're not getting it straight enough during the blow drying stage. I use the Revlon as well, but maybe you are using it on cool instead of the heat setting? If you pull it through slow enough, it will get your hair just as straight as you had it after the first flat iron. The Kenra blow dry protecting spray will help it dry faster and protect your hair, and you should couple it with a serum like Chi Silk Infusion so during the flat iron step it'll seal it in and make it shiny. Afterwards, then flat iron on 400 using the comb chase method. Guaranteed silky results!
TYMO user here for many years.....I have to say it's by far the best straightening tool I've ever used. Pretty cool to see one of my fave YT influences use it 🥰
I would love for you to create a video about what you are currently doing now to get your hair so thick and maintain your volume. My hair is as thin as yours was when you started your natural hair thickness and volume. Thank you. I love your videos, they are so enjoyable and helpful
girrl-- I'm waiting for the cold fronts to kick in to do flat iron! and this is coming from someone in Florida 🤣 once a year makes sense to me here! Your har is sooo thick and healthy! how often do you trim?? because your ends looking quite full!! Adore that Sam plush! it's so cute!!
PLEASE bless us with the knowledge of what you even doing for the last year, your hair is THRIVING. Your routine clearly seems to be working amazingly and I need me some of that. Flu nugget looks amazing
At some point in your natural hair journey, your hair just decides it no longer deigns to be straight and it stops responding to heat the same way. Especially if you don't straighten your hair regularly. My hair did that a few years so I eventually gave up on flat ironing it. Even when it did go somewhat straight, it would clump together like it was still curly unless I combed it every five minutes. Eventually you just gotta let it go.
Your hair is beautiful! Love the rich black color your natural hair has. I’m looking to get a silk press soon. One thing I learned Is that in order to get a nice silk press, a really good blow out may help. The hair should be flowy and close to straight before going in with the straightening tool to get the straight flowy look.
The tip for a good silk press if an excellent blow out. It really makes or breaks the style. You have to get it as straight as possible at the blow dry stage.
I just moved to Atlanta last year and humidity is new to me. I understand the struggle lol. But I’ve learned that if you don’t have heat-trained hair, there’s a good chance the straight won’t last in the humidity. Density might have something to do with it too. My SIL has dense hair and mostly wears her hair straight. It lasts until she washes it. I straighten my hair about 4-5x/year. It’ll stay straight but definitely reverts in humidity. I said all this to say lol, don’t feel bad if it doesn’t stay straight. You’re just not heat-trained and when your hair is heat-stretched, you can do a lot of really cute styles. I love a good twist-out/braid-out on blow-dried/reverted blow-dried hair!
Maybe try a regular flat iron + comb instead of doing that many passes with the hot comb? Cuz it seems the hot comb doesn't really straighten the ends while a flat iron def would
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell us EXACTLY what you did to get your hair to that condition! I’m currently going through split ends and very dry hair and I can see the difference in length (my hair has gotten shorter since I dyed the tips in 2020 when I think the damage began). We also need that finger detangling video bc I can be vicious with a comb 😬
I love how beautiful your hair is. I also know that feeling of getting your hair pressed out only to walk outside and the humidity ruins it. There is humidity and southern humidity and southern humidity will ruin the best presses especially on us 4c hair girls. But, I love how you were rocking your fluffy press out.
I think everything you did up to straightening your hair was great! I ran into the same issue with my 4c hair when I tried to straighten it and I'm pretty sure it was because I didn't use any anti-humectant/ anti-humidity products with the heat protectant to keep my hair from shrinking back up! Some leave in conditioners or cream based silk serums should work to combat the humidity the next time you straighten your hair!
Your hair has seriously grown sooooooo much like you really did what you set out to do. I keep wanting to straighten my hair but then i remember how my sweat glands are set up and change my mind immediately lol. Btw i want that bathrobe!
LOL, I just tried to do this at home for the first time yesterday, and my hair literally sweated out today. Sooo much fun. I'll definitely try some of the suggestions in the comments for my next attempt.
OMG!!!! I know I said it earlier but I remember when it was much shorter and it has tripled in growth. You’re doing something right!!!! You go girl!!!!
I have problems getting my hair straight as well, it looks like a blowout after im done straightening, this time i blow dry and flat iron again only days after doing it because it started reverting again and it came out so straight!!! About 2 weeks later still straight (minus where i sweat after my workouts)
Can you please please PLEASE do an updated video of your routine and what you use, when , and how many times a week!!! I did a video length check last year my hair was around 8 and now this December it’s just 10 all around!😢😢😢 All year! I was expecting at lease 4-5 inches for me leaving my hair alone all year. If I do the same thing this year what do I need to do? Water daily? Oil daily? Massages? I just feel like all last year of my work was a waste! Please and thank you so much!

I’ve been natural for years and my hair is always just shoulder length. Went natural when I was 16 and I’m 22
Hey, have you heard of JenniferRose or iamblackgirlcurls? They have completely changed how I care for my hair and have helped many women with simple hair care, hydration and length retention. Braids (with extensions) can do more harm than good in some cases because the synthetic fiber can cause friction against your natural hair strands and damage the cuticle especially if left in for an extended period. Also, washing once a month is only 12 times per year which is depriving your hair of moisture (water) that’s obtained during the cleansing and conditioning process. It’s best to wash every 7-10 days if you can maybe 14 at least. It may sounds like a lot, but the more frequently and consistently you do it, the better and faster the process becomes. There are hydrating shampoos that can be used to prevent too much moisture loss. Regular shampooing and conditioning also cuts out the need for pre poo and weekly deep conditioning! Additionally, it’s important to get regular trims as the ends are the oldest part of your hair and splits only hinder length retention. The frequency varies based on how you handle your hair and your texture etc. but stylists usually say once every 4 months at least. One other thing, if you haven’t had blood work done recently, check your vitamin levels as things like iron deficiency can cause hair loss/breakage/thinning. Hope this helps ❤
@@savannahsimon5440 I’m about to start taking vitamins and biotin and doing oil treatments and hope for the best bc this is so discouraging going all year and only growing 2 inches. Didn’t touch my hair at all so it’s not like it was breaking. It’s soully a growth issue
i just love videos like this, shampooing, conditioning, talking, little tips, puppy content, it's really chill and gets me in my comfort zone instantly, lots of love from istanbul
OMG okay so I was in the same spot 3 weeks ago! (My hair is still stretched) I decided not to press it cause I didn't think it would get straighter past a blowout (I used the same blowdryer you did). I just decided to protect my ends by putting them into space buns, high bun, low bun, and I keep the 2 pieces out in the front (I flat ironed 1st then used rollers to make them curly). Its super cute and bc I keep my hair in a ponytail it has stayed stretched without wrapping or heat. But it might be a fun way to get the straight hair look without committing to the additional heat.

If you’re located in the ATL area let me know there is an awesome hair stylist who’s silk presses last through rain and humidity!
TYMO user here for many years.....I have to say it's by far the best straightening tool I've ever used. Pretty cool to see one of my fave YT influences use it 🥰
whenever you edit your eyes like that in the thumbnail lol, it creeps me out 😂 it somehow gives uncanny valley vibes.
I'm so interested in a video about what you did to make your hair thicker. It looks great and I totally noticed 😀 😊 😍
Yes please the finger detanglinglization. I'm most interested in the products used, how you use them and what works the best!
Mine is the same. It is absolutely heat defiant.
Trueee the key to a silk press is really how straight your blow-dry ends up
Yes do a video on the finger detangling!
Def curious about your finger detangling routine! Especially if you have any tips for single strand knots, I struggle so much with that
I love your personality that you have on your voice overs
Maybe try a regular flat iron + comb instead of doing that many passes with the hot comb? Cuz it seems the hot comb doesn't really straighten the ends while a flat iron def would
Still team Revlon brush dryer over here!!! G'on starpuppy😁🤣😂🤣
I absolutely love your dramatics 🤣
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell us EXACTLY what you did to get your hair to that condition! I’m currently going through split ends and very dry hair and I can see the difference in length (my hair has gotten shorter since I dyed the tips in 2020 when I think the damage began). We also need that finger detangling video bc I can be vicious with a comb 😬
FLUFF NUGGET, Girlll, i ain’t seen her in a year or so!!! BUT SAME AS LAST TIME “FLOURISH FLUFF NUGGET, FLOURISH!”😍😍😍
Checking back in, fluff nugget is gorgeous. I remember when it was short. Absolutely love seeing the growth.
It came out so cute, Danielle and healthy 😍.
Fluff Nugget said, "new hair, who dis."
ok but your hair growth is INCREDIBLE!!! it looks so good darling
Whatever u doing it’s working ur ends are very full!
Your hair is thriving lady 😍
It’s so long and full now! 🥰
LOL, I just tried to do this at home for the first time yesterday, and my hair literally sweated out today. Sooo much fun. I'll definitely try some of the suggestions in the comments for my next attempt.
Def want the vid on what you've done.
OMG!!!! I know I said it earlier but I remember when it was much shorter and it has tripled in growth. You’re doing something right!!!! You go girl!!!!
PERFECT VIDEO TITLE for my experiences trying to press my type 4, thin hair. Smh Thank God for having what I do have.
I not mad at cha for trying. You are such a great momma and I love your fluffy hair
Sam is adorable . I’m loving the growth😍😍😍😍
YES. Girrrl Fluff nugget is looking luscious!
Yes to vids on finger detangling, also a routine update and length check please!
fluff nugget is FLOURISHING! i love it!
PLEASE be a I’ve been trying to grow my hair all year I’ve kept it in braid all year! Rebranded every month to ENSURE no breakage. I ONLY GREW 1.5 to 2 inches ALL YEAR!!! I washed and deep conditioned each month! No heat at all please help, bc we had the same hair before like 8-10 inches and I’m stuck at shoulder length it never grows.
Because I’ve literally been watching you for 3 or more years I can find comments I made on your videos back when you were doing the 20’s series 😊 I’d really appreciate a video so much bc I’m trying to grow my hair.
Star puppy please help 😢
We want a video on exactly what you did!!!! I love love your videos you give me so much hope xxxx
“Fluff nugget” I love it💕💕💕
I would love to see a video of you explaining how increased the density and thickness of your hair!!!!!

The thumbnail has me crying omg😭 I love you! ❤️
Yes please a video on how you got ur hair thicker and a video on what revlon hair tips I got
Less than two minutes in and I have to pause to say, your hair is beautiful.
4:00 YES I AM INTERESTED! Please make that video 😭🙏🏾🙏🏾
Girl your hair is gorgeous I remember the reality check hair video of like starting over. And man amazing
