The power of Layne Staley's voice. Even my husband who isnt a rocker cannot get enough. Not only does he love all AIC albums he is also hooked on Mad Season.
Smart hubbie. :-) Layne is like vocal crack, LOL.
Same except my with my wife this got her into grunge and was a gateway for her to open her mind about hard rock music in general.
My second aic cd I ever got!!! It will always hold a special place in my heart!!!! My dad used to go out with firefighters during the summer, and he got me a greatest hits album before he left. I was mad that he left, so I crushed it!!! About two years ago he bought facelift at a second hand store and I was hooked, regretting breaking my cd. I then bought my own copy and fell in love with it!!! Now, Jerry is my biggest musical influence!!!!

@@daniel5913 thank you! And yes I don’t participate in politics it’s all bs BUT the Clintons did a lot of damage. The world today is just crazy. I suggest everyone frees themselves from major influences by the mainstream including social media trends, because it can’t be good. It’s just there to blind us.

Love them so much this year I finally got AIC tribute tattoos to Layne & Mike with lyrics from Them Bones. Miss them as a whole so much. Was lucky to be front row to this era but so much loss! Just glad we still have Jerry

There's no voice box on Man In The Box. It's the combination of Jerry's wah peddle and Layne's voice. Refer to Rick Beato's what makes this song great episode 99.
I read in 'Alice In Chains - The Untold Story' that one of the studio guys bought Jerry a talkbox and it was used for recording Man In The Box
Cara Sawtell MUA yeah I heard the story went as one of the studio guys were listening to Bon Jovi so they wanted jerry to incorporate a talk box into the song
@@Kruspe12 Look carefully at the book and you'll find that that "studio guy" was Dave Jerdan - the producer. And exactly this was stated here in the video. I'll believe the man that was there over Rick Beato.

@@Kruspe12 No worries..... I just like to get fact out there when I can. It's still amazing that the $100.00 voice box bought on a whim ended up being the hook that launched AIC to the masses, most of which still listen to them today.
My favorite is the secound half of the album I can't remember, sunshine, it aint like that, put you down, confusion, I know something about you, real thing. those tracks are so damn good.
